I had no idea what abuse even was and thought it was a term thrown around by self righteous yuppies. I used to literally find it comical when I'd hear/read things like "people you love shouldn't scream at you" because in my mind, that was normal behavior and so it seemed completely ridiculous to imagine a life that did not involve being treated that way. Thank you therapy for helping me realize how sick & wrong I was.

I truly despise Elon Musk.🤢 I hate that he is with Grimes now, it disturbs me to think of how he must treat such a beautiful spirit like her.

I was strangled by my ex husband, non sexually, during an argument, as he screamed into my face that he was going to kill me. I thought he was truly going to kill me in that moment. And that was not the first nor the last time that he physically assaulted me, far from it, I cant even count how many times it happened in our 7 year relationship. Our relationship had several of these red flags. I finally left him because I thought if I didn't, he would end up killing me. That was 2 years ago and I …

When I was 22 I had a huge crush on my boss who was in his 40s🤷‍♀️ there was no grooming going on and nothing ever came of my crush, I'm pretty sure it was not reciprocated. Not sure how old the friend in the story is, but young women genuinely being attracted to older men can happen for sure.

Honestly I expect this shit from men. The real heartbreaker here is that her BEST FRIEND lied to her and betrayed her like this. I could never do that to my best friend even if her man was the hottest, richest dude on earth with the biggest dick I've ever seen.

The psychological reasons and the type of LVM we tend to go for varies among individual woman, but ultimately the solution is the same for us all. Work on knowing when to walk away, work on learning to recognize your deal breakers. Work on setting up healthy boundaries with men. Work on having high enough self esteem that you do not settle for being treated poorly.

Ugh I hate this. In a lot of super woke feminist spaces we hear talk about the male gaze and how women don't have to look beautiful and blah blah. Which, I completely agree. We do not HAVE to, we don't owe men our beauty. But I like to! It makes me feel good about myself, not because I want the "male gaze" but simply because I like looking in the mirror more when I look put together, healthy and beautiful. I think instead of just trying to get women to not give a shit about their appearance like…

The same thing happened to me! I had no desire to have sex and it's so ridiculous how much time I spent trying to make excuses for the low libido rather than recognize that I just simply hated him and didnt want to be anywhere near him, let alone sleep with him. Never again!

Omg sameeee. The last guy I dated was the first man I was ever with who respected me sexually and I REALLY felt the difference. Like, he would ask me if something was ok for me in bed. In the beginning he would literally ask me if it was ok to take off my clothes. He would check in on me during sex to make sure it wasn't hurting. I never, ever had a man do that before. And he never groped me either, or made overly sexual comments to me. Even after we'd been sleeping together for several months h…

I had my daughter at 20 with a lvm who abused me. I was definitely stuck with him for a few years out of financial necessity. I hated it, and realized pretty quickly I had to make an escape plan. I spent the first 5 years of my daughters life working hard to find a good job and once I did, I left him. I'm financially independent now. Yes, reproductive rights made this possible for me. I had an abortion during that time. I've been on birth control since she was born. If I had had more babies I'd …

Girl trust me it's out there. I've had great sex with men before. They were douchebags, but still good in the sack. My most recent ex could stay hard for seriously as long as I wanted him to. He was realllyyyy skilled at keeping himself on the edge. I would tell him when I was ready for him to cum. Usually after I had 3+ orgasms. Ughhh I miss him sometimes.🥴 he was a terrible person but amazing in bed. my ex husband would go down on me for as long as I wanted whenever I wanted as well. Also a do…

It's such bullshit lmao I know single women in their 50s and they have just as many men trying to date them as I do at 28. Hell, my 80 year old grandpa was chasing after women aged 70+ so it even keeps on going into old age. Bye with that "wont find a man after 30" garbage.

Absolutely do not settle. Worst case scenario adopt or get a sperm donor and do it alone. The last thing you need as a mother is a shitty "coparent" to piss you off and create more work for you. I divorced my daughters dad and am raising her alone now and my life is 100x easier and more enjoyable than it was when I was still married to his worthless fucking ass.

Breaking mom gives me blind rage flashbacks to when I was married and treated like a miserable maid/sex doll. Never. Again. And so help me god I will raise my daughter to do better for herself than marrying and reproducing with a lazy piece of shit moron like I did and like every woman in my family before me did. We HAVE to teach our children to do better and break this shitty cycle.

I mean yeah I can cum on my own but it doesn't really replicate the real thing for me at all. The flirting and buildup of tension. Then the release. The feeling of a man's hands on my body. Seeing him naked, the scent of his body. Hearing him moan. Looking in his eyes. I've honestly had some great sexual partners who unfortunately were otherwise toxic for me but I know sex with a man can actually be amazing. Fantasy and masturbation are powerful but nothing is better than the real thing. At leas…

This is why we're all here☹ I seriously wouldn't care to have men in my life whatsoever if it weren't for this insatiable craving for sex and cuddling and kissing and intimacy of that type which cannot be satisfied by a woman because I am heterosexual. Idk what the solution is... I guess just keep trying to find a guy who won't abuse me and hopefully not traumatize myself too much in the process. Life is hard and messy.

Idk if this is FDS or not, but my personal opinion is that it's a toxic cultural expectation that we are supposed to find one life partner and stay by their side until death do us part. It's ok to not stay together forever. People change and grow. The man who is right for you now may no longer be right for you in 10 years, and that's ok. That is not a failure on your part or his part, that's just being human. So I'd say the first step to overcoming your fear is overcoming the cultural expectatio…

I dated a guy who didn't seem to be from any of these categories. He was incredibly respectful to me. He would explicitly ask me for consent for sex and check in with me during sex to make sure I was good. He paid for every date without a complaint. He had kids from a previous relationship who he saw regularly, treated kindly, and paid child support for. He was not a porn addict or a misogynist or a narcissist (at least I don't believe he was). Right off the bat he treated me better than any guy…

Just get a divorce. I hate hearing stories like this of monumental effort trying to "fix a marriage" that is clearly broken beyond repair. This is not noble. This is not love. This is fucking degrading and toxic. I grew up with parents who spent years fighting and in counseling "fixing their marriage." At that time and still to this day I believe their lives and my childhood would've been 100x better if they'd been mature enough to just get a damn divorce. If a relationship takes THAT MUCH EFFOR…

Depends how bad they do it. I know it's hard to be in a toxic relationship, I've been there. Now on the other side of it, I try to support my friends when they go through it themselves. If they're being complete assholes and not reciprocating, then yeah fuck them. But my friends are good about taking turns talking about our problems and dumping shit on each other. I think part of the beauty of friendship is having someone who is there for you through bullshit. When I was in an abusive relationsh…

In a previous relationship I got pregnant and we both agreed I should have an abortion. I caught it early enough that I could take the abortion pill and just miscarry at home. I took the pill in the afternoon and by the evening I was bleeding and cramping heavily as expected. Also I was feeling super sad and disappointed, not because I wanted the baby but simply because I wished it hadn't come to me having an abortion and I was disappointed in the choices that led to my pregnancy (neglecting to …

What even attracted her to him to begin with?! Wtf!! I don't understand this at all. Don't get me wrong, I've dated horrible douchebags and am a former pick me, so I'm by no means judging the poor girl. However even in my darkest pick me hour, I've never been able to let actual hygiene slide. When I was 18 I dated a dude for 3 months who didn't brush his teeth and only used mouthwash. After he dropped that bomb on me I lost the urge to have sex with him ever again and dumped him shortly thereaft…

My ex husband had a horrible temper. It's the reason I left him. Nothing I ever tried could've made him stop. He swears up and down he has changed but I just heard from a friend that she overheard him yelling at his new gf the other day. Boy bye. So fucking glad I don't have to put up with that anymore. Idc how fun, sexy, charming, intelligent, handsome etc a man is. If he can't control his anger he has to go. Biggest deal breaker ever.

It's so true. I've had the same guy harassing me for months. A coworker that I made the mistake of going on ONE date with and then decided after that date that I did not have interest in going out with him ever again because he was a pushy douche. I've used every line in the book with him and none of it made him stop. Finally I had my kids dad (who I'm not in a relationship with) tell him off for me out of desperation bc I didnt want my boss to know I even went out with a coworker so I never rep…

Good for you!!! I also got divorced 2 years ago from a LVM douchebag. My daughter was 5 when I left too! It is literally the best choice I ever made for myself. I have never regretted it for a second. Sometimes I remember how shitty my life was with him and it brings me to tears of happiness that I never have to tolerate that type of treatment ever again. Good on her for not being a pick me and having self respect. This dude is a total bum. Also a reminder for women who have sons: you're their mother not their servant. You aren't serving your children by babying them to the degree that they don't ever learn the most basic life skills.

I only text first if there is already some type of relationship established. New dude? He better text first every time. If we've been seeing each other for awhile I have no problem texting first as long as he is still initiating contact at least 50% of the time. I'm not going to ever put forth more effort to speak to him than he is putting forth to speak to me, period. If he takes hours to reply... depends. Every single time? Red flag. Occasionally? Meh whatever. I'm assuming this is a grown man…

Omg he sounds awful!!!! The best advice I have is to go no contact with him. And then just work on building yourself up. Spend time around positive people who treat you kindly. Set some goals and spend time working towards them. Make yourself a person that you're proud of being. When you're in love with yourself you no longer have patience to tolerate abusive low value assholes.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/04/20 04:50 PM

Just say no. Who cares if he thinks you're a "vanilla newbie" ...especially if you don't even want to sleep with him anyway! Look after yourself. Sex is for you just as much as it is for him. If you're not feeling it say NO. Trying to "remain sexy" is still kinda being apologetic for your boundaries.

Soooo maybe shut the fuck up about it and do something to make yourself more attractive to women? Being a whiny douchebag isn't exactly a turn on, especially to still be doing it at 40 years old.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/04/20 02:21 PM

There is a paradox in that part of making yourself high value is no longer concerning yourself with "keeping" a man. Ultimately you want people in your life who want to be there. A man is not a pet to be kept, even a high value man. Let things come and go naturally and don't try to force a man to stay interested. Invest in YOU and trust that the rest will follow. If someone loses interest in you, so be it. That means they weren't meant to be in your life then.

Gurl. Stop torturing yourself. Stop reaching out to this dude. He doesn't give a fuck about you, and you're diminishing your self worth by trying too much. Let. It. Go. He is replaceable with someone who will make an effort. And if not, so fucking what? You don't need people in your life who don't make an effort to deserve to be there.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/20 06:04 PM
6

Hell no. You couldn't PAY me to legally bind myself to a man. Marriage has always been a terrible deal for women. It's not even just about LVM, although that definitely has to to with it. The entire institution of marriage is set up to make women submissive and subordinate to a man. It's a way to trap yourself. And it's not particularly enjoyable for the men either honestly. It's just an outdated tradition that needs to die in my opinion, which I admit is probably an unpopular one.
