I hope you did a purge of your account: delete photos, videos and unfriend everyone on your list. I did that 3 years ago and no regrets so far. If someone asks you why did you just deleted them, simply tell you won't use Facebook anymore and you are still reachable via phone, email or Whatsapp/Telegram.
