By no means can you compare the situation in the 80's to today. The massive computing power is an absolute game changer. And two whole new generations of scientists are doing the research now. Of course we've been wrong many times in the past, that's part of exploring unknown territory and how we gain experience and knowledge. It's nature vs. nurture. Psychopaths are born that way and they literally don't show any physiological (stress) reactions when lying to / killing someone such as an elevated heartbeat. The brain of a sociopath is wired a little differently and it's usually an acquired trait. Sociopaths are also less sadistic/violent than psychopaths and it can occasionally be reversed. Edit: The woman who talked her boyfriend into committing suicide is most certainly a psychopath. That's not necessarily the case…

Bought mine second-hand in 2014. Hasn’t crashed once, not even word - been gaming, coding, rendering a.o. on it and rebooted maybe 7 times in total. Was provided with a Thinkpad at work and had to deal with about 5 sudden blue-screens a day. Not even the Chrome browser would install at first and resizing excel-imported tables in PP would reliably crash the whole thing. On top of all that i was able to sell my previous 4 y/o macbook with a broken GPU (!!!) for 500$ still!
