Shit how does someone get into this situation after graduating?

The point I'm making is still valid though. Within my company there is a significantly larger number of female engineers under 35 compared to over 35. My company is definitely not the only one out there that tries to employ as many female engineers as possible. I don't know of any of my female classmates that are currently unemployed or underemployed. I know a fair share of male classmates that are underemployed because they couldn't find a job or internship out of college. I can't find any data…

Of all the most recently hired engineers I work with, they're like 40% women. Last summer we got 3 three new interns and two were women. I don't know if you're familiar with engineering school, but that's not the correct distribution. It's a shitty deal for everyone because guys are fighting and uphill battle to get hired and meanwhile no matter how great a female employee is, people will always think in the back of their heads, "She only got hired because she's a woman."

Attraction is a sum of your looks, wealth, and confidence (and other factors as well). Physical attractiveness is huge, but not the end-all characteristic.
/r/seduction28/01/19 05:08 AM

Dude you're talking out of your ass. It's not possible for a distribution with the median so close to zero not to be skewed.
/r/seduction18/01/19 08:03 PM
3

That's only true for a normal distribution, but number of sexual partners would be a skewed distribution
/r/seduction18/01/19 04:42 PM

Median is a better metric for this sort of dataset.

What do you recommend for someone who works an office job? My social skills have definitely improved due to corporate work (I can run a meeting like it's nobody's business), but I feel like I've stagnated, and as much as I want to take a significant paycut, I don't think quitting and becoming a waiter is right for me.

I think you missed the point. The insecurity comes from the need for validation. Having sex with a prostitute doesn't validate anything other than, "I'm so unworthy of sex that I had to pay for something that 95% of people my age had happen naturally.

Welcome to the wonderful world of low self esteem coupled with social anxiety :)
/r/seduction29/08/18 04:13 AM

I disagree. When I was a virgin at OP's age, it wasn't not having sex that made me insecure. It was that there wasn't a single women who wanted to have sex with me. That realization leads to a lot of insecurity and paying for sex doesn't solve that.

I think the fact that I listened to the audiobook helped quite a bit. Yeah the constant article Google begging was annoying, but not intolerable. Corey Wayne writes like he's giving a lecture that was sort of half-assedly prepared. The points are good, but the presentation isn't great. Mark Manson on the other hand is just a good writer. I actually enjoyed listening to his constant stories and anecdotes.

Really drive point 4 home. There's no reason to reveal you're a virgin. It's never gonna improve your odds of getting laid. If for some weird reason a girl asks (she probably won't) just deflect it and say you don't kiss and tell.
/r/seduction10/04/18 04:00 AM

If a guy is getting laid constantly despite being ugly, he's probably not browsing here. If a guy is ugly and uses advice from here to become successful with women, he's probably done a thing or two to improve his looks and is no longer ugly.

It makes it pretty damn tough. At least in my case being 30 miles away from anywhere with a decent population of women, surrounded by townies in serious relationships, and having nowhere to invite people over makes being social pretty difficult.

I find myself travelling to visit friends just to be able to maintain the friendships I worked so hard to build over the years. That is probably a large source of my feeling stuck now that I think about it. You've perfectly described the vicious cycle I've been in for years now. All through college and now after college I'd get stuck in the loop of, "I don't have any friends here because I'm always traveling to see old friends, but I'm always traveling because I don't have any friends here." A guy can make all the wrong moves and still succeed. Your buddy tried to go after a woman for months and got rejected time after time before finally succeeding. What if he hadn't? Then he would have wasted months or even years obsessing over some girl who'd never show interest in him. For every guy like him that succeeds there are hundreds who waste their time on girls who don't want them. So that's where the /r/seddit "just move on" attitude comes from. There is no universal advice. But some a…

The one godsend of being a guy is that the lower end of the dating pool's age range is really low. You can't completely "miss out" with women in their early 20's until you're in your 30's.

Get out of the mindset that you literally cannot get women because of your looks. Looks help, but aren't everything. If they were, ugly people would never get laid, which simply isn't true. Think of attractiveness like a game multiplier. If you're really attractive, you don't have to be as charismatic or confident to succeed. On the other hand, if you are very charismatic and confident, you don't have to look like Channing Tatum to get women. That's obviously a huge simplification, but you get t…

Can confirm. College was rough on me, and at a certain point I just stopped trying. It really took a lot of effort to get our of that rut and some demons still haunt me today.

This goes completely against the "fake it til you make it" advice that is also frequently suggested here.
/r/seduction13/12/17 05:01 AM

You need to learn. You gotta get out there and try, accept that you'll make mistakes, and try again. When I realized I was getting too old to be a virgin, it took me about 2 months of really putting solid effort into getting laid to finally lose the v-card. Mental stuff is key. If you're not confident or don't think you're worthy of sex, you're not gonna have sex. Don't expect to lose your virginity after a week of trying.

At least this guy has a decent following. I hate when guys lost their personal channels with well put-together content and like 200 views along with 20 subscribers. The PUA YouTube channel void can only be filled with so many channels.

As someone who's naturally pretty introverted and not very confident, I hate how true this is. Like if anyone else was in my shoes, they'd probably have no issue getting laid. But I'm not some super-confident party animal nor am I the type of guy to confidently approach women. I'm working on it, but it's very hard to make that feel "natural."

This may be hard for you to face, but in reality nobody gives a fuck. Which means you shouldn't give a fuck either. It's not that simple. If you're insecure about being a virgin, it's not, "I really wish I could have sex," that constantly runs through your mind. It's, "Why is everyone having sex but I'm not? What's wrong with me?" Being insecure about your virginity sucks.
/r/seduction04/10/17 04:08 AM

You're in college and probably can see a counselor. See a counselor and talk about your insecurities. I was a virgin until senior year of college and the anxiety was terrible, but seeing someone to help clear my mind helped a lot. Losing my virginity didn't magically make me happy. I'm still depressed quite often. But damn that was a nice weight off my shoulders. Yeah I'm getting off topic here. See a counselor. Maybe get in shape if you think you're unattractive.

Personally I've succeeded and failed by verbally mentioning wanting to kiss. But there are certain times where I didn't have the guts to just go for it, and saying something beforehand was a solid cop out that got results. Asking to kiss: Not as good as just going for the kiss. Better than doing nothing at all.

I think it's possible to make your intentions clear while also being buddy-buddy for a while. The typical friendzoned guy is completely silent about wanting a relationship. If you can remain friendly and not too aggressive with a girl while also still letting her know that you're attracted to her as more than a friend, there's a chance for success. It's not totally spineless.

See now this is my dilemma. I feel like I can either live in the burbs and be fiscally responsible, but I'll always regret wasting my 20's. On the flipside if I spend $900+/mo on rent when I could have bought, I'll regret that as well. I suppose I'm not looking to fuck a different girl from a bar every weekend, but I still need to live somewhere with some options for meeting women and dating more often than once every few months.
/r/seduction31/08/17 01:15 AM

22.
/r/seduction30/08/17 03:41 AM
1

This is a solid point. Another factor to consider is buying vs renting and money in general. A single studio apartment in a good area would cost me $1000+ per month. I could find a house with a $1200/mo payment and rent out two rooms to make most money back. I guess I never considered living in a reasonable area rather than living in the area. Like still in a smaller city, but near lots of bars and nightlife.
/r/seduction30/08/17 01:51 AM
1

This is very true. I suppose I'm trying to bank on either getting dates where I'd meet later or going to her place. I've never pulled a girl in a bar for a one night stand, but I've never had the opportunity either so I don't really know what I'm missing.
/r/seduction30/08/17 01:11 AM
12

I can definitely relate. It was a bad realization when I was 20 and noticed most of my friends were virgins. In recent time the only thing that's changed is a lot of them went from virgin to serious relationship. I'm trying to surround myself with people who are more into hooking up and dating lots of women, but it's hard since I'm not that good at making friends.
/r/seduction30/08/17 12:10 AM

I disagree on the haircuts. Eyebrow threading might be a little much, but there's really no issue with keeping your hair fresh other than the money.
/r/seduction30/08/17 12:07 AM
3

Out of curiosity how many matches do you usually get in a day/week, what % of girls that you message message back, how many girls that you message give you a number/date, and how many do you hook up with? My success rate has been pretty damn low all things considered, but I still have some success to show for my effort.
/r/seduction30/08/17 12:05 AM
3

I disagree with the second statement. The more you try, the less you worry about each individual encounter. If you approach 1 girl a month, you're gonna be extremely outcome-dependent. If you approach a dozen girls a day, you don't worry about the outcome because if she says no, you'll see 80 other girls this week.

Are there any "programs" kind of like what you just suggested?
/r/seduction29/08/17 11:53 PM

I'd say it's a toss-up. You probably won't regret it, but it's not the same as having sex with someone because they want to have sex with you. The feeling of knowing someone chose to fuck you because of who you are is a lot better than the sex itself. And at 26, I honestly don't think it will change much of your life other than lifting a burden off your shoulders.
/r/seduction29/08/17 11:51 PM
2

If you straight-up ask them to hook you up they will. But don't expect your friends to just decide to put effort into of ol' Johnny Friendzone on their own initiative. I got lots of dating advice from my friend's girlfriend. A girlfriend of another friend loves to wingman with me at bars. Just my $0.02.

If it makes you feel any better, I was in the same situation as you and getting laid didn't make much of a difference. I still have really modest success with women and still constantly long for any form of companionship, whether it's a one-night stand or a serious deal. Fuck I worried less about sex when I was a 21-year-old virgin than I do now.

My rule of thumb is if she doesn't respond to the second message, she's not interested. You'll only dig yourself deeper if you keep messaging her or dwelling on it. If she really is interesting, she'll eventually reply, but sending more messages won't help the situation.

I lived on campus and had a miserable time. Spent too much time by myself avoiding social interaction. Never bothered to join any clubs or hang out with people from classes. I quit masturbation because it was an unhealthy addiction of mine. Like alcohol, its possible to watch porn in moderation and be fine, but with some people it's a dangerous thing worth staying away from. It's not so much that not jerking off makes me so horny that I force myself to talk to women. It's more that time spent not watching porn is spent doing more productive things. Looks and confidence matter. I'd put myself at average. Maybe slightly above average. But 90% of the time I go out I do pretty bad with women because I'm not confident. Most of my successes came from leaving my ego behind. That's usually accomplished by slowly getting comfortable around a girl through repeated interactions, or just drowning my ego in alcohol.

30 is when you enter wizard status. But at 22 I was hella insecure about being a virgin while so many of my friends had been dating for years. I'd say try to get rid of it by 21. Freshman and sophomore years of college are prime times to do the deed if you aren't an idiot like I was.

Working out alone definitely isn't enough. I've gotten to the point now where I'm more fit than most dudes, but it doesn't mean shit unless I put effort into getting women. Maybe if I move up from the top 5% to the top 1% I'll see some more results, but until then lifting isn't enough alone. That being said, lift. It's awesome.

My "nice car" is a Mazdaspeed Miata. Girls think it's cute I guess, but it's never helped me out before. The other day I got pulled over in it and the cops laughed at it. So I guess I got that going for it.

Why not? There's only a handful of cars in that price range I'd pick over a 911 if I had that sort money.

I feel like if I had a steady supply of different women to sleep with and date, I wouldn't want a girlfriend. But because girls that I can date and fuck are in limited supply, I end up looking for a girlfriend more often than just looking for a casual date.

Dinner and movie isn't a good first date idea. It's not good second or third date material either, but absolute Busch league first date material. That's the kind of stuff you can do when you're in an actual relationship and every interaction doesn't need to leave an impression on the dating partner.
/r/seduction18/07/17 04:36 PM

You made 6 approaches in one night. Who cares if they were all rejections because you still did better than most.

Props to you for having a bro willing to do that with you. Any time I try to encourage pickup stuff (including the betting concept) my friends act like I'm an idiot. Maybe it's weird, but IDGAF how weird it is if I go home with a girl at the end of the night.
/r/seduction15/07/17 07:13 PM

Do you watch porn at all? Did you used to fantasize about girls and stop at some point or has it always been like this? I'd say it's either low T, some mental problem like depression or anxiety, or you're asexual. I'd get you testosterone levels checked.
/r/seduction15/07/17 07:02 PM

Trying argue with people in /r/incels is painful. They're all so distracted by their negative view of the world and themselves that they refuse to listen to any reasonable advice. They all think their problems are unfixable when that's almost never the case, and when you point that out they'll always say that they're the exception and can't be fixed.

Any way to get good at this without alcohol. I've found that when I get like 2 drinks away from blacking out, my confidence skyrockets and anxiety disappears. But before that point I'm just as anxious as always. I've been hammered and still uncomfortable with approaching.

/r/seduction10/07/17 02:13 PM

The approach itself is much more difficult with daygame, but in my opinion it's much easier after that. At parties there's lots of distractions that make it hard to keep the girl focused on you, and isolation even harder. Daygame makes the approaching itself much harder, but if the girl is responsive it's a lot easier.

Every time I complain about my social life, whether it's to other friends, my parents, or siblings, they always just tell me to "get more friends." You've basically got to constantly battle with the rational and irrational sides of your head. Irrational side: "What if she rejects you?" Rational side: "If I don't talk to her, I've already been rejected." Of course actually listening to the rational side is difficult when the irrational side seems so much more noticeable.

Fuck man are you me? I never did much through all of college. I have no close friends and never dated. In the last month I actually put effort into finding people and am active in clubs. Last week I lost my virginity. It took a few weeks to lose my kissless virgin status, and all I had to do was try a little bit. It's like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I can finally function like a regular person, but it's all too late. I don't know what I'm gonna do after college...
/r/seduction19/04/17 01:54 AM

Go for a kiss. Touch her and see if she tries to stop you. If she doesn't, touch her somewhere else. If you're really nervous, say, "I just need to get this off my chest," or "I really want to kiss you right now," before going for the kiss. You'll feel way less nervous if she reassures you that she wants you.

I'm starting to think this girl I've been seeing is like that. I always try to plan some sort of date, and she's just fine with Netflix. Combining that with the fact that both of us have busy schedules makes it hard for the relationship to be much more. I really don't mind, but it makes it hard have potential at being a serious relationship

When I quit porn my sex drive plummeted. It makes it a lot easier to talk to women when you see them as more than just sex objects. Nofap is all propaganda for the most part, but if you really have an unhealthy relationship (I did), cut it out.

It's not having sex that matters. It's the fact that you've never had sex that matters. It makes you feel like there's something wrong with you. I spent a long time thinking it was because I was shy, or ugly, or some other bullshit. I always felt that because no one ever bothered to approach me and I never made many real connections, it must be because I'm boring or some shit like that. Looks and confidence both matter. According to online dating surveys, women consider 80% of men "below average". So yeah those top 20% get a lot of action, but the other 80% aren't all constantly getting rejected. Carry yourself well and be confident and you'd be surprised at what you can do.

It's just one less distraction in life. More time is spent thinking about how you can improve yourself and less time is spent thinking about what website you're going to visit tonight. Taking away that association between gratification and porn has made it easier to talk to women IMO too. It might also just be a placebo effect and the attitude of disciplining myself and making an effort to improve myself is what's really the cause of these changes.

10 push ups a day ain't gonna do shit. Hop on starting strength or stronglifts for 3-4 months, then get on an intermediate program like 5-3-1, PPL, PHAT, or PHUL. It isn't a huge commitment and will have a huge impact on your appearance and health.
