Whilst not essential, half the guys you see having an easy ride will likely have some kind of social proof going on whether on display or not. I.e. social media looks tight, in a club, respected in a niche community, recommended by friend etc. This is not a bad thing it can be manipulated just like anything else marketed on the internet. However for someone new to this if the points mentioned are not followed I believe objectively they will have less success.
