Dating a lovely guy - and I feel dead inside. Thanks for kind and thoughtful comment... And yes, I have a very loud body response to situations I'm not totally sure about in which makes it very difficult on dates I'm not excited about! I think I need to accept that I may not be attracted to many people, and that's okay - as one of your posts said, trying to fit in to a mold and chastising myself constantly because I just don't feel good in my cells isn't a great way to live. I decided that i would break it off with this guy and go back to m… | /r/askFDS | 09/05/21 01:22 AM

Dating a lovely guy - and I feel dead inside.I haven't had anything tip over in to real feelings for a while... But I'm excited for that and will remember this post (if they're HV and I'm happy) when I do! | /r/askFDS | 09/05/21 01:10 AM
Dating a lovely guy - and I feel dead inside.Yeah, excellent way of reframing it. Being really clear on what's important and steering the conversation around that is important...and yep, gotta be careful about the stories we tell ourselves and how disempowering they can be | /r/askFDS | 09/05/21 01:08 AM
Dating a lovely guy - and I feel dead inside.Yeah. It's such a fine line between 'you're too picky' and 'you are sabotaging' isn't it? It goes back to my point. One is about pleasing society/men and ignoring yourself. The other is about you and is actually not about men at all. It's something I think you could discuss for hours! | /r/askFDS | 09/05/21 01:06 AM
Dating a lovely guy - and I feel dead inside.Yes, absolutely. The amazing thing is, the more you exercise the awareness muscle around your trauma response, the less exciting it seems. Kind of like 'oh hi, trauma! Yeah, not today.'😅😅 | /r/askFDS | 09/05/21 01:03 AM
Dating a lovely guy - and I feel dead inside.Thank you. Sometimes I feel so confused because I want to experience healthy love and intimacy again, and have gone deep to create health within myself. But then I drive myself to anxiety because I have a personality where everyone feels compatible with me... But i don't feel compatible with THEM. It might sound nice, to have people like you so easily and want to pursue something, but it's so lonely and empty not feeling it back. | /r/askFDS | 08/05/21 07:20 AM
Dating a lovely guy - and I feel dead inside.I really appreciate the comments below. Thank you. Just to clarify, I no longer feel attracted to the narcs - I feel like that part of my life is done. Like an addict, I might have to always manage it, but I want to give myself at least a bit of credit :) And yes, I am enthused about a lot in my life. I'm also very cautious and methodical, but I feel excited about many things. In regards to some of the advice about the 'spark' not being real: 100% agree. To that end, even when I'm not feeling it… | /r/askFDS | 08/05/21 05:02 AM
Dating a lovely guy - and I feel dead inside. The thing is, I'm not drawn to the narcissists anymore, and they're not drawn to me...I promise you, you can get there and it's so damn freeing! I know I can make it work with a stable guy... But i stress out when I'm not 'giving tbings a chance'. What is the line between sabotaging yourself and compromising yourself? | /r/askFDS | 08/05/21 01:33 AM
