Met a guy recently, seems overall nice and very interested. Kind, considerate, emotionally aware.

He's alluded to two things I find odd. Firstly, hasn't had a relationship in many years, and secondly, says he stopped putting in effort with his friends for many years (stopped responding to them and making effort, so the friendships drifted away). So now he doesn't really have any friends. He says he knows it's an issue and he'd like it to change.

My situation is completely different. I have a lot of friends. I love my friends and think they're the best part of my life. I have a very active and fun social life, but friendships that are deep and caring too - and am never short of invitations or things to do with people who love me.

I'm curious about what you guys think. Personally, I find this strange, because I don't understand not valuing and taking care of your friendships. I've been told I care too much and should be more balanced, as yes, I was once too social...but Covid taught me to go more inward and spend more time on myself. Ironically, doing this has actually strengthened my friendships and made them more satisfying and healthy!

Anyway, I digress. Friends of FDS: Is this a red flag?
