I agree. Nobody will take Fox News seriously. And it would make us seem like we're right-wingers. It would give people credence to say "Look? See! Men's Rights Activists ARE alt-right!"

WTF Andrew? I actually thought you were a great candidate for president.

That's great. Just hope feminists don't try to block their research.

No. To feminists, it's always a man who does it. If a man kills a man, whatever. If a woman kills a man, then she's fighting against her oppressor. If a woman kills a woman, then it's internalized misogyny.

But it's men murdering other men! - Feminists

Well, because it's inaccurate. MRA's want to fight for equality and recognize that men and women have their troubles. They want to change the status quo. Feminists only acknowledge sexism against women. They want to change the status quo as well, but only to an extend. They want to get rid of the negatives of sexism women face, but keep the positives.

No, because.... Well, they didn't have a good argument for that so they just downvoted any of those types of comments.

As the post says, anytime the "reverse the genders" argument was made, it was shot down by: "Women are consistently being mistreated by men and most women have traumatic experiences that involve men. Try to understand your girlfriend's viewpoint".

I had that mindset once, that Feminists and MRA's are wrong about each other and it's a case of miscommunication, but I realized that it's wrong. Modern Feminism's foundations and philosophy are sexist. They believe men are inherently privileged by this made up thing called "The Patriarchy". They have thought up of ways to oppress men, such as: - Manspreading - Mansplaining - Teach men not to rape - Teach men not to murder - #KillAllMen - #YesAllMen - #TooManyMen And of course, The Duluth Model.…

The difference is that MRA's are correct about feminism, while feminists are wrong about MRA's.

I'm struggling to understand what "educate your son" even means. Like, teach him not to rape? Most boys know that rape is bad. Teach him not to make women uncomfortable? Most men literally go out of their way to make everyone comfortable as best they can. Teach him not to hurt women? Most boys are told not to hit girls. Teach him not to hurt other men? Maybe that's a problem, but I doubt that's the intention they're going for.

I think women are also the victims of this narrative just like men. Trust issues between men and women will hurt women as well as men, even if those trust issues are created by a misandristic notion and hurts men primarily. This makes me wonder, what exactly is the feminist movements goal? It has more than "cause they hate men". Like what exactly are they trying to gain by dividing men and women?

Schrodinger's Douchebag - Say something offensive or controversial, and decide whether you were joking depending on the reactions around you: Scenario A: Woman1: "Why do men think they can just harass women?" Man: "Most men don't do that, nor do they think like that" Woman1: "Um, I don't mean all men, obviously" Scenario B: Woman1: "Why do men think they can just harass women?" Woman2: "Men are such pigs, lol" Woman1: "OMG, IKR?!" And no, I'm not being stereotypical with my example. I saw a simi…

The first two are great explanations. However, the last one is a different question: "Feminists claim that the studies that debunked the wage gap are biased, because those studies used companies that willingly volunteered their data. According to them, a company isn't going to do that if it's underpaying women". Basically, they're aware of the explanation of why men and women have different earnings. However, they claim that the studies that proved this are biased because those are companies tha…

But women aren't our enemies. Feminists are. We have to convince men and women alike that modern feminism is a cancer that seeks to destroy the lives of everyone. We must lay out the facts, logic, and statistics to people.

You think men are the bad guys? Seriously. How can someone be so blind to the propaganda? You won't even respond to arguments that don't fit with the agenda. You just plug your fingers into your ears and go "you're wrong and I'm right lalalala".

I can already imagine the responses from RadFeminists: "Men are human. They rape and murder women at unimaginative rates. But no ones perfect ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. #MenAreTrash" This isn't an actual tweet, just a hypothetical tweet that I made up. But I guarantee that similar tweets to that will pop up from a bunch of people who will intentionally misunderstand what #MenAreHuman is meant to stand for. What would be a response to that kind of tweet?

I'm glad there are women like you that will stand up for men. Society is indoctrinating young women to hate men, but you're thoughtful enough to see through the lies.

I actually terrifies me how anti-male society is becoming. It's got so bad that men are not even allowed to talk about the issues they face and get called "Incels" and "Misogynists" instead. Women can't even stand up for men or they'll get called "Grifters" and "Pick Me's". People are, unironically, using the same rhetoric that racist or anti-semitic people use. It's honestly crazy.

You made a lot of good points here and I know you're trying to help. But I looked through your history and.... yeah. No offense, but I make it a point not to trust a person who regularly posts on FDS. Still, in this sub, we don't censor people. You're allowed to have an opinion.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates10/03/21 04:09 AM

Will I agree that this sub has some sexist users on here, most of them aren't. There are two posts celebrating International Women's Day. Why would a sexist sub do that?

But feminism is relevant, now more than ever. Like I said, we have to try something. By trying to talk with the feminists, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Hm.... Maybe we could make our group and their group could have discussion elsewhere. Where both sides have equal power. All I want is to find common ground.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/03/21 05:08 AM
1

What did they say exactly? And where did you have this discussion?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/03/21 04:58 AM

Basically calling them a hate group and saying that their information was propaganda.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/03/21 04:57 AM

If that's the case, then forget MensLib. If this subreddit and LeftWingMaleAdvocates have a collaboration and somehow convince the feminists subreddits that we're not bad guys, think about how good that will end up being in the long run. No more hate, we all get along despite differing opinions. And let me put it this way. Even if this ends up failing, this shows that we are not a group that hates women and that we've at least attempted to find a common ground with feminism.
/r/MensRights09/03/21 04:55 AM
1

Wait, you've already tried?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/03/21 04:49 AM
1

So what do we do? Just let them misrepresent us? There's got to be some way that we and the feminist subreddits can come to a middle ground. Maybe we can't convince the mods, but we can convince the users of those subreddits. You know the term "you can't drive out hate with hate, only love can do that"? I think that applies here.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/03/21 04:44 AM

To be fair, I was being snarky and somewhat hostile towards them.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/03/21 04:43 AM

Maybe, but it's worth a try. Could you at least talk to them? Considering you're a mod and a leftist maybe they'll listen to you? They don't seem to have a strong opinion on r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates, if any. You could try to get other mods in on it as well.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/03/21 03:56 AM

Nothing will get done if both sides don't talk to each other. They clearly have the wrong impression of Men's Rights Activists. And like the other user said, they say the exact same thing about us.

I just got banned from the feminism subreddit because I said "MensRights" and "LeftWingMaleAdvocates" aren't hate subs. I tried to convince the moderators that they aren't and they said that they don't "promote hate subs". The irony is astounding.

I think it's more accurate to say that feminists do think men have problems in society, but: A. They're not as bad as women's problems B. It's actually men's fault because they established society So they admit men have problems, but then they try to downplay the problems and victim blame men instead.

I saw a recent post from AskReddit and it was something like: "Women, what do you want men to know" I think one of the comments was "Stop using women as your personal therapist. Go to your male friends instead. Or go to therapy". She was upvoted quite a bit and anyone who disagreed with her was downvoted. Just lovely.
