You’re right. I do have to figure it out. I’ve done it before and I will do it again.

Every attorney was asking for a $6k retainer because I had been to several court hearings since 2019. So to review all documents and file the correct forms plus a jointer to have a 3rd party be a part of the divorce was costly. This is where getting an attorney was a good idea, they got me more money for the house buy out than 10k I was being offered. About two weeks ago we went to a settlement hearing and that cost me 1700 for the attorney to try to settle this case and avoid a trial. That was …

Appreciate the feedback and the video. Hope your kids are part of working on that project car. What is it by the way?

I started running again since my physical health was also deteriorating. But to honest, I felt less stress fighting this alone than I do with my attorney. I have about $800 left in my retainer and with the trial starting in January and no money left I feel beyond depressed. I keep telling myself that I’m a good father but this feeling of giving up is overwhelming. I paint to ease the stress but even that has no joy. Reading how you overcame this rigged system is uplifting but knowing how rare it…

Congratulations. After 2 years of fighting it alone I finally got an attorney based on the feedback I got in this forum and so far it’s cost me 7k and I’m still barely going to trial. I’m hoping for the best but it feels hopeless.

Thank you, I know that throughout this whole fight my concern has and continues to be that my children know I love them. The one day I just got with them after not seeing them for 4 months straight was amazing. Them crying wanting to stay longer with me felt bittersweet but I will continue the fight.

Thank you! I will check out the site. My current employer offered a legal plan with access to attorneys and 4 hours paid for but the offices never call back. I am paying for this and it feels like a waste

I have proof of her abusive behavior. I filed a police report when she busted my head open in front of my daughter, I have video of it. The cop that took my report shrugged it off and told me that’s what Latina women are like and laughed. I felt powerless. I hope to find a good and dependable attorney but googling just has me making call after call and some of these attorneys just don’t sound like they will be good.

You’re right. I initially was looking for an attorney but she would harass me at work, she ended up sending my HR anonymous emails pretending to be an employee at my job stating I sexually assaulted her and if my job did nothing about it she would get a lawyer involved. My job fired me and though they could not prove I did anything wrong after a short investigation they decided that CA is an at-will state and let me go. I couldn’t afford 3,500 then and now that I have filed divorce and the case …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
