Yep. Same thing happened to me. Not close to any family but across the country. I love it though. Much happier here but do miss old friends. Can always sell the house and move somewhere else. Nothing is set in stone.

Damn, that's brutal. I don't know why any man gets married. It's such a shitshow for us in every way when it ends.

How is that not considered adultery? My lawyer said no sex or even having a female renting a room from me. Surely you could get a PI and document those encounters?

Do we have the same wife? My wife gave me one bottle of cologne for my 50th birthday. Then left in middle of the night on father's day weekend and took my granddaughter. Haven't seen or talked to either of them since. Probably never will. Be careful guys. Marriage is total bullshit and horrible for men. Never again!

I'd recommend changing sheets, towels, Curtains, rugs. Anything that reminds you. Even change your laundry detergent. Smell is closely associated with memory so change all that bedding and linens.

I feel you man. That year is a bitch. Already one month down for me. It goes quickly.

My wife did something similar. Married 4 years, she just took off in middle of the night a month ago. My ring fell off about 3 weeks before she left. When I told her what happened, she said "providence". Guess she didn't mind me losing it. LOL

Going through same thing right now but at 50. 4 years married no kids, shared house.

The fact that I have a brain. Apparently, it was missing for a while.

Thank you, sir. I'm hoping cooler heads will soon prevail. She is gonna ask for me because I watch her all the time and we do all kinds of things together: fishing, crabbing, beach walks, bike riding, etc. I'm going to try and be as kind to everyone as possible. I own my part in this. My verbal abuse was very bad at times and I know words can be the most powerful weapons.

I feel you. Don't think I haven't admonished myself a thousand times. And even before getting together. What can you say? Sometimes you fuck up

I'm hoping so. I would do anything for her. And even for her mom and wife still. They're hurting too and I have to realize that. I hope cooler heads will prevail

Very wise words. Thank you so much for sharing them. I know it will pass but the interim is soul destroying.

Thank you for your thoughts. We have separate accounts but do own the house together. I will probably buy her out. I'm just so sad and destroyed right now.

Thank you for your thoughts. I agree. Even if they hate me, to think they'd just erase me from her life after all this time is unimaginable cruelty. I'm so heartbroken. I don't know how I'll go on but know I will somehow

I own my share of the blame but don't feel like she or her daughter take any responsibility for anything that went wrong. It's maddening.

I don't have a single thing of theirs in this house. What a mindfuck after just three days.

Hard to argue with that.

Great advice and similar to what my friends have said. I was very calm in our last interaction so trying to do that. I am broken in a way I never thought I'd be.

Great advice brother. I'm only two days from wife leaving with grandchild I raised for 4 years and now telling me I can never see my granddaughter again. But I will get through this. Great words of wisdom. Going to gym now

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
