Yes, but that's exactly what seduction is..a performance (or behavior) that is only slightly tweaked per individual.

I'm glad you were able to figure those things about yourself. Again, I don't think that's the case with me but like I mentioned in a previous comment, I have gone through several traumas and have been/continue to be in therapy and have emotionally outgrew my ex and put an end to several of my own toxic traits. I have not objectified my exs... I tend to choose unavailable, distant men which is why it makes it easy to drop them. I mentioned his success being part due to luck bc that is what it is.…

Hmm, I see where you're coming from in certain aspects but don't think the whole picture, nearly 15 years of knowing him, is encompassed in the above blurb. Those are some pretty bold claims regarding my personal characteristics. I don't agree with you, and would be shocked if anyone that knew me would describe me in such a way.

Thank you so much for the link - I will definitely give it a read. You are spot on with my attachment style. I lost my dad to suicide as a teen and have been hitting major breakthroughs with my therapist this past year (which also helped lead to the breakup with my ex, as my therapist believes I have outgrown him emotionally) so I am aware of my anxious attachment style, and have been putting in major work to normalize myself a bit.

Ugh your comment is nearly bringing me to tears due to hope for the future haha! Thank you, again and again. In regards to dating, I seem to go for the emotionally unavailable men, the bad boys almost..Tall, dark, handsome, confident, slightly douchy, with no room in their life for a woman. How do I go about dating intentional men, men that actually want to have a relationship and life together? It is what all my ex's have said to me, and preached to me, yet it never is shown in actions.

Yeah, you are right - I see that I am not of importance to him at this time. The only thing he values is work/money/friends/beer so it is in fact time for me to move on and stop giving him what he wants for the breadcrumbs he has been dropping me. Thank you for your reply, the more I read these comments, the more it is sinking in and the more I feel like I am getting my power back.

I do think of leaving the city life, despite absolutely loving it. I am hoping to switch jobs (again) in a year or two after gaining some experience and am already looking at places to move to. How did you decide where to move to after NYC life? Did you move alone/any advice on that step for when it comes?

Ugh ANOTHER much much needed reality check - thank you for your reply. You are right, I am a grown ass woman and I have to get my act together and get a handle on my feelings/game playing and put an end to it.

Haha, wow, you are oh so right - the sex is fantastic and we absolutely don't gel on a personal level. It is hard for me to admit and look past the toxicity bc of our chemistry/past/future that he promised me.

Ugh gosh, I would DIE if this dragged for another ten years. Absolutely CANNOT happen.

I see where you're coming from, but, I must agree with her as there is a lot of truth with the age being kept in mind. It is unfortunate, but this is one of the downfalls of being a woman - we DO have biological clocks. I don't feel rushed, but do feel the need to at least be a bit more aware of what's going on. I sure don't feel 28 so a reminder is helpful. I appreciate you trying to have my back though, I do feel as if I may need more time, and maybe I will even miss my child bearing years and…

It is so hard for me to realize how important this age is for me - I feel like I am still figuring myself out.. Like I mentioned in another comment, I live in a large city and it seems like most of my friends are single and could honestly care less about men/marriage/kids but this is not the case for me so I fail to see that my clock is literally ticking. Wow - how refreshing and nice to hear that you met/married at 29 and are buying your house together now. That is EXACTLY what I want, so finge…

You are right - gosh, more of what I need to hear! He definitely is leveling himself up and we both know he can basically get any woman he wants. I am working on myself, new job starting next week but I have taken the breakup so hard that I began going out drinking a lot and already gained ten pounds, if not more. Earlier today I told myself enough is enough and am putting an end to drinking/bad eating and focusing back on becoming a better version of myself. Thank you for your honest reply and …

This is exactly what I need to hear. Thank you for writing this all out for me - I know you are right, I guess I just need to see it spelled out right to my face a few times before I allow it to sink in. I appreciate you telling me how it is - I live in a large metro city and have a lot of friends who preach independence and the idea that they don't need no man but I know I want a relationship and a family. Unfortunately, the advice I get from my gfs is complete nonsense for my situation.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
