I was raised by a mom who worked from home and a dad who was a steel worker. I was raised with a parent or grandparent who was always there or my older brother so I was safe. I was raised traditionally and told to go to college for a good job but to make sure it was one that would still allow me to have a family or work from home. I worked in a job with developmentally disabled children for 10 years and had a large family. I worked my job because of the hours 8-4 and weekends and holidays off. H…

Thank you! I think we're getting a water softener next fall but for now this is a godsend!
/r/RedPillWives14/03/17 10:32 PM

Thank you! We have such hard water here and my skin and hair have been suffering terribly this winter and nothing is helping. I'm going to try this for sure. I hate how my hair has gotten straw like and my skin is so itchy and ashy.

I'm sure when you told your grandmother that it must've made her heart so happy! That's a very kind thing you did for her. Being a housewife isn't always the most praised or thanked job. To hear it from her own granddaughter would've made it all worthwhile, as it meant all the time she spent instilling those values into your mother paid off as she passed those values down to you. Thank you for your kind words and for not being afraid to buck the trend and doing what's right for you and your fami…

Why thank you, but I'm no role model lol just a mom and wife trying to keep it all together :) you'll do just fine
/r/RedPillWives23/02/17 02:04 AM

You're more than welcome. It still hurts that someone who cares about you would comment negatively on something that means so much to you but I just assume it means they're unhappy with their own life. Don't let it bother you one bit. You're life will be better, kids will be happier and your marriage will strengthen.

My husband actually helped me come up with it as I left a good paying career to be with my children. People were shocked and horrified that I would do "such a thing, when you were a career woman!". It shuts them up nicely and remains upbeat and happy. Plus once you change the subject to them and some bauble their wearing their quick to forget. Use it all you like!
/r/RedPillWives21/02/17 06:43 PM

I tend to shut down any discrimination by turning it back to feminism if that's the angle they started with... for example "Oh wow... you went to college and had a career but now your a housewife..?" I then say "Yes, I'm so grateful that women have so many choices now a days and that I was able to choose to stay home with my kids since it's what's best for our family." I normally follow it up with a big smile and gush about my kids and loving being able to spend so much time with them. I also th…

I make only one dinner and their choices are to eat it or not eat it. However that being said I make sure to include something in each meal that I know everyone will like. Example if we're having meat loaf, I make sure to make mashed potatoes for my son, green beans for my youngest daughter, and whole wheat bread for my middle daughter. They must all eat at least their age in bites of food even if they don't like it. So my 5 year old must try 5 bites of each item. I found this often leads to the…

I always make dinner one of his favorites and no based on what the kids want. "He's the breadwinner... he should enjoy it". I make his lunch everyday and include a little treat in it that I know he'll like. Homemade cookies or candies he might like. I shop for clothes for him before he needs new ones. He tells me what he likes and I get them. I pick up treats for him when I grocery shop, food/liquor I know he likes. I keep his mancave clean and orderly but don't bother him when he's hanging out …

In our household I am submissive to my husband in all things. However it's more like a captain and first mate. He is steering/directing our lives. This is done through being the sole provider, being in charge of financing, the maintenence of the vehicles and things like major home repair. All major decisions are made together however he can veto my decisions. My role is the housewife/SAHM. I look after all the cleaning, cooking, laundry, shopping, holidays/birthdays, home decor and family health…

I'm thankful that my husband is such a good provider and that I'm able to be a SAHM with our children as it was always my dream from a small child. I'm grateful for large loving family that surrounds and supports my children as they grow and takes interest in them. It takes a village. I'm grateful that I have a close relationship with my mom and that we can shop, craft and hang out during the day as SAHM's together and for my Dad that will watch my littlest during the day so us ladies can go for…

I'm not sure what your schedules are like or where you live but what about going out all together as a family to do something active? Like start with walks around the neighborhood for fresh air with your child and then gradually up to hikes in a local forest/wooded area. If you have a trampoline park nearby, or a YMCA go for a family swim. It's good for all of you and it's a fun and healthy way to relax all together. We live up north but we love going for walks, hikes, to the beach in the summer…

I used it for years and also had horrible anxiety and depression. Thought it was just me, after our wedding I went off of it when we started trying for a baby. All of a sudden my moods changed and I stopped feeling irritable, anxious and moody. My husband was the one who noticed it first and actually pointed it out to me. I mentioned it to my Dr during an appointment and he said it known within the medical community. After we were done having children I decided to have my tubes tied during my fi…

Yes I take prescription iron pills for my anemia but it's a constant battle during my period since they are so heavy. As for the migraines, they are hormonally based according to my OB-GYN and he told me unless they become a huge worry to use Excedrin for Migraines or Adil Liquid Gels. Combined with a dark room and cold behind my neck and on my eyes it helps somewhat.

I get rage/hulk like symptoms with my PMS as well as extreme lethargy ( I'm always fighting my anemia) and after 4 pregnancies it's super heavy (TMI I know). I found the most helpful thing was simply explaining what it felt like to my husband and that I didn't mean to act that way and to take it with a grain of salt. He's super compassionate as we've been through a lot together but he will also call me out and let me know I'm getting "PMSy". I've also found that if we both have space during that…

Yes I always dress attractive when I'm out of the house. I'm a married mother but I want to look presentable and a bit like arm candy for my husband. I always wear my wedding rings and drop my husband into convos if I'm being hit on. I try to dress in the styles he likes.

Exactly true. When the whole Ashley Madison scandal broke and it turns out there was a huge amount of men looking for affairs and virtually no women (most were bots) I said to my husband it makes sense. If a man wants to have an affair he needs to put in effort to get a woman to fuck him, drinks, time, dinners possibly etc. A woman? She can literally head to any meat market style bar and say to the first guy she meets "I want to get fucked hard, no strings attached". It's easier to be a slut.

Yes yes yes! The husband is the brain when yours is completely focused on the contractions. He is the one doing the communication with your nurses/midwives/doctors. My husband did the same, when I became irrational with the pain after a long long labour that ended up in a c-section he snapped me out of it.

My husband was there for all of our children (we have a big family) and I loved every second of it. Who better than "your captain" to support and strengthen you during the hardest thing you will ever do alone. Birth isn't a cake walk and I loved having him there rubbing my back, keeping me sane and whispering things like "You got this babe" and "We're going to meet our baby soon, you're doing so good!". Yes take her to do things just the two of you, you will show her what a high value man should treat her like. My Dad used to do "Daddy Daughter Dates" with me in my teen years and I still think fondly of them as a grown adult/mother. He would take me for something as simple as a walk with ice cream on the beach or to an amusement park. He took the time to just get to know me and talk about what I was into. Dealing with this too. My kids are cranky and confused about going to bed when it's light out after a long winter. Daylight savings with toddlers is the worst. Naptimes and meals are off. I try to circumvent it but someone is always cranky for at least 3-4 days until they get used to it.

You're not missing out because instead of wasting resources on short term gain you're saving your resources for the long term. Saving money for a new house is a great idea. I like the other posters married young to my college sweetheart and had kids young. Now at 31 I have the big family, cozy house and devoted husband I wanted and the life I love. Same reaction but mine was hidden in with meat. First bite he had an odd pensive look, second bite "Babe, this meat... I think it's turned" when I explained it was tofu, he stopped eating altogether. I told him it was cooked to instructions and it's supposed to taste like that. I wasn't digging it nor the kids. He stood and told us to get our coats and we went to a restaurant. Never attempted it again.

Is there some form of welfare you can get on until he finds a job? Do you have enough supplies for the baby, like a bed, clothes and diapers? Or is there a mother allowance program that could help you?

I liked when my friends came over with food/gift cards for takeout as often the novelty wears off after a few weeks and if the mom has nursing issues etc she can quickly order in a meal and not stress. I loved when people would come and hold the baby so I could nap for even an hour and have a shower. Coming over to gab and have tea made me feel normal because those first few weeks feel so different as now you have a small baby that requires all of you and you need time to be a friend/wife. Offer…

Was it your SO? Was it your own choice? We have 3 small children and I currently work full time in a nursing job. I often surprise my hubby with his favourite baked goods. He can smell it as he opens the door and will say "Did you bake cherry 7-up cake (an old recipe of his mothers)?!?" Even before he says hello. He looks like a little boy with the huge grin on his face. It's simple but it's such a nice thing to come home too. Agreed. Eating fewer calories and healthier food is important but so is working out. It's good for your body, heart, and mental state. People who regularly exercise have lower rates of depression and anxiety. It's important to be physically active especially as you get older. It also can help you to have a healthier pregnancy and it's good in the long term.

Their hate of parents and children makes me very sad. Even before I had children I could never hate someone for choosing to share the joy that their children bring them. That sub is filled with very sad people who I think have some underlying issues.

Why did we choose to have children: My husband and I aren't religious in the least,in fact we are atheists, however we have always wanted a large family. We both come from loving families, love our siblings and love children. The choice to have our own family was an easy one, we wanted to have children to share our lives and joy with. What about a nice roast chicken, stuffing (even from a box), mashed potatoes, gravy (from a package even), some corn and cranberry sauce. Fudge is a lovely hostess gift that keeps well and leaves a nice memento of you for later. When they go to eat it later they will hopefully have a fond moment to discuss you "Wasn't she the sweetest thing? She is the nicest girl and the fudge was lovely!" Also yes to the overeating, as well as over drinking. Kids are also your best bet for winning over people. Ask them about things they like and try to see if you have anything in common with them.

You could always mail or drop off a condolence card with a gift card to a local restaurant (that delivers). In the card you could write something about you being only a phone call away and that you would love to have her over for a coffee. The best piece of advice I ever received on parenting and sustaining a happy marriage is "Your spouse is always going to need you, your kids will grow up and not need you." If you neglect your spouse for your kids, one day the kids will be gone and your marriage will be in shambles. Kids need to see their parents be supporting and loving to each other so they can emulate it with their own spouse.

At home with my family I have it more casual with maybe a messy fun bun or pony tail (my husband loves messy/cute hair on me) Makeup- at work I always wear a full face of makeup though it's not caked on. I use concealer under my eyes to hide an bags , BB cream all over to even out my skin tone, I tight line my eyes (god send) use eyeshadow and mascara with light blush or bronzer depending on the season and a lip gloss. I've done this since I started with my husband and nothing gets my heart fluttering as much as when I place the plate of food I prepared in front of him and he gives me the happiest and proudest smile. He always thanks me for preparing a beautiful meal and encourages the kids to do so as well. Now my son will copy his father and say the same thing.

A lady doesn't air her grievances in public to anyone who will listen. She deals with it appropriately in the right space. If she's having issues with her friends or family she speaks with them privately and deals with it maturely. Same goes for her captain, no man bashing with her girlfriends. You look trashy and immature "bitching" out in a bar or restaurant. These people are your family and loved ones and deserve respect. A lady always dresses for the occasion. She takes pride in her appearan…

This damn fat acceptance and skinny hating trend really irks me as a lady and a mother. Fat is NOT healthy, sure some men may be "into big beautiful women" but the majority of men are not into obese women. An obese woman isn't sexy when her knees are buckling together from the weight she carries, or the wheezing she makes when she walks or exerts herself, how about when she sits on a couch and takes up two cushions and sprawls across it making heaving noises. High blood pressure, high cholestero…

I think they are a good example :) My captain is a huge fan of Dave Ramsey. Him getting me on board was a huge positive in our marriage. He took total control of our finances, called me out on my hideous overspending, put me on an allowance and took away the credit cards. Right now we're on track to being debt free in less than two years!! I can't advocate for Dave Ramsey and "The Total Money Makeover" enough. Also for fellow atheists, yes he's quite preachy but you can just read past it.

Maybe instead of complaining that men "don't rush to help her", she could try using basic manners. Realize you can't do something? Ask for help. I'm sure if you said to the flight attendant or the man (looking at the sticky floor) "Excuse me sir, but I can't seem to get my bag up in the compartment by myself, could you please help me?" I guarantee most people would be glad too, so that they could get to their seat. I've struggled with things and I simply ask for help, she needs to wake up and re…

Love muscles on a man, it says strength and the ability to get things done. Tattoos aren't my thing personally and my husband doesn't have any. I've broken your questions up as best I could on mobile. Something that has always bothered me and has caused me deep conflict within myself. Are relationships about exploiting(strong word, I know) each other. Is our marriage exploiting each other? No and yes. By definition exploit means to make use of or take advantage. I guess all relationships have some form of exploration as there is give and take. I give my husband a warm welcoming home, supplemental income, children and someone to take car…

It's worth the wait definitely. Don't waste your best years with men that aren't what you want in a husband as so many young girls do. Don't sleep around and have one night stands, don't be THAT drunk girl at parties and value yourself and you will find a good man.

We've had a very old fashioned relationship since the beginning and have always found that our sex lives have always been the most fulfilling when we hear our close friends problems. I think, when we have set roles in our marriage, it allows everything to fall into place. He is the breadwinner, father, boss (our term for captain) and protector. My job is supplemental income provider (niceties like trips and home decor etc), nurturer and mother. We don't fight ever, literally because we laid down…

Amazing post OP thank you so much for posting. This really spoke to me. Be loyal. Stand by those you care about in their darkest moments, not because you want to stand in the dark, but because you don’t want them to either. Brave the shadows alongside them until they’re able to find the light. On the flipside, stand by these same people on their sunniest days, not because you want to scorch your skin, but because you’re not afraid to let them shine bright.

Very traditional married mama of 3, however we are atheists. We firmly believe in teaching our children the golden rule "treat others as you wish to be treated" and that a good strong set of morals does not need to be tied to a specific religion. My strong and very atheist husband is a very dedicated volunteer who supports charities and our community. He works daily to instill these values to our children around the dinner table.

This woman reeks of insecurity. If she's unhappy with the way she looks, then she needs to change herself. I bet she's the kind of woman who repeatedly begs for compliments or asks "am I still pretty?!" "Do you still love me like you did when you first met me?!? " or "am I as pretty as ----?!?". I have a traditional/ RP marriage and my husband notices beautiful woman all the time, as do I. Who doesn't enjoy looking at beautiful bodies? RPW don't neg, if you do your attracting betas. Here's an article about women negging directly from Roosh V. Also you will never get or keep a RP man with negging, he owns that game. Lighthearted coy teasing is much more lady like. Now allow me to trace the history of girls using negs: The Game was released, teaching guys to go around insulting girls. Couldn't have said it better myself. It's captain first mate relationship in RPW marriages but not a dictatorship. I totally see this with my peers (25-35 year olds). Many young wives feel it is okay to slack on cleaning, cooking and child care. My husbands handles all financial and house related issues (bills, mortgage, outdoor upkeep etc). When people find out, they FREAK out and try to tell me this and that about a strong independent woman. My response generally stops all conversation and the only reply is "Oh well that's wonderful then". "My husband lovingly takes care of those things for me because I found them overwhelming and stressful. He hated seeing me like that so he does it so I have less stress and can focus on other things…

-show her what a good hearted, hard working, determined and strong man looks like. For when she looks for a potential relationship it can help her weed out the duds. let her know who is the captain in the family and who is the first mate, but show how each is important in their own right. "Daddy works outside the home, but mommy works at home, but we both work for you all" show her how feminism and male chauvinism can be harmful to a persons worth be them male or female. No one sex is "better an…

Before we leave for the day or an event I always ask my husband what he thinks of an outfit and he will tell me honestly. Most of the time he likes it as I have always made an attempt to dress for him. Often we women dress for each other, we try to impress our friends and strangers. When we stop needing validation for our friends and instead seek only the validation of our spouses it really puts things into perspective. He's your man, you already got him, now keep him! If he likes skinny jeans a…

Yes, yes, and yes to the long hair. I cut my hair from mid back length to the posh Beckham bob after my second child and my husband hated it. I have to agree it aged me and made me feel less feminine. Long, silky, well maintained hair ads a youthful look. Now I'm not saying "down to your butt" but generally men like shoulder length hair. Remember to maintain if though, just because it's long doesn't mean it doesn't need trims, cuts, conditioning treatments and frequent styling.

Love this! So cute and true. Makes me want to post this to my Facebook instead of all the crap that's been posted by others lately. Ie "look, act, drink, have sex with whoever you want and everyone should like it. If not, who are they to judge".

I value my marriage over any friendship, so I always refer back to my husband. If he was okay with it,as I do have some male friends, then we would hang out all together. I think it's very difficult for a man and woman to be super close friends as usual there is some undercurrent of attraction in on of the people even though they may never admit it. Our difference is that the male friends are my husbands friends first and my secondly. One is like a family member to me, however I wouldn't hang ou…

Hey! I'm a long time reddit lurker who recently found the TRP and then this sub. I'm a 29 year old married mom with 3 kiddos under 3 (yeah we're busy ;) ) and am currently on maternity leave. My husband and I have always had a TRP relationship though we didn't have anyone to influence us other than our parents who lived the same way. I'm proud to respect and submit to my husband as he is a strong and honorable man. He is an amazing father and is involved in our community. A lot of my gf's who ar…

Love this! Especially the part about girl game with pickle jars is so true. Even though I'm a mother and I know storms in our area aren't generally that bad my man loves that I'm frightened of storms.

I like other posters and my husband were naturals RP'ers. I met my husband as a friend in college and was drawn to his confidence, maturity, his masculine traits, drive, lack of drama ( oh young college boy drama lol) and ability to not take a woman's shit tests (his ex started shit testing and used sex as a weapon). We both we're dating others when we met, but I dropped my beta after seeing what real men were. We got together months later and have been together for 9 years. We knew the fit was …

Something I will never understand about feminists is how they argue so hard that "they fought for equal rights and choice!1!1!!1". Then as soon as a woman chooses to be submissive/SAHW/SAWM/etc, she is looked down on for making that choice. You can't have it both ways feminists. Part of giving people choices is that they won't always pick the one YOU like.
