One of the powerful things about MGTOW is how you can read a thoroughly blue pilled article like this and know exactly what is going on, but which no one will admit in the legacy media. It's like having a superpower of being able to understand what others regard as mysterious and inscrutable.

From the article: "Because when I heard some of these [comments], I understand that some people don't want to be with someone who doesn't want a family, and I can understand people's reservations about the pressures of becoming a father figure in someone's life." In many places becoming a "father figure" in a child's life is enough to make a court force you to pay child support. Until they recognize the level of corruption involved in a scam like this, they will understand nothing.

If the Red Pill accomplishes absolutely nothing else, simply by making men aware that this happens in almost every marriage it will have performed a service for humanity.

When I experience a "hit or miss" food place, I go to a different outlet, which is easy if its a chain. So I avoid some Starbucks that consistently fuck up, and the same with Baskin Robbins. It is amazing how some BR locations make a perfect milkshake, and others manage to make a milkshake that is barely palatable. Two or three screw ups and I never go back.

Here's another filter for advice: watch what people do rather than listen to what people say. Men or women. Doesn't matter. Watch how people act and see what model of reality that behavior fits with.

Glad to hear you're giving notice. I see so many posts here and on other forums where people are upset at how they are being treated, but they aren't ready to leave. The more productive and effective workers just pick up and leave, the more businesses that allow this kind of thing will suffer. And nothing changes until someone suffers.

The long march through the institutions continues apace. At this point the only hope is to entirely withdraw from all coopted institutions and create a parallel society. Yes, it comes at a cost, but the it's worth the price one has to pay.

What matters is not whether it's constitutional, but that it will be enforced throughout the US. Don't know how other countries handle this. Also in the US, almost all of the pricier neighborhoods have HOAs. It is difficult to escape it. And with home prices spiking in much of the US, there is a knock-on effect of money flowing into housing, and everyone trying to make everything look perfect. If you want to live in a nice house or a nice neighborhood, understand that you either do yardwork or y…

Speaking of situational awareness among women, when I have been with woman in public places—whether a grocery store or a show or what have you—they have all been so utterly oblivious to what is going on around them that I have physically restrained them from walking into strangers. I just don't get how someone can so through life like that. Even the smart ones are oblivious and will walk without looking where they are going.

In the early days of MGTOW on Youtube there was an Australian guy who took frequent trips to Pattaya who talked about this. He called it the "Pattaya Flying Club." About this from another source: https://www.thairomeo.com/pattaya-flying-club.html Some of the guys who go to Pattaya to get laid end up spending all their money on a bar girl and her family and end up taking the plunge.

Any attempt to impose a social model inevitably encounters pushback from those who don't want it, so don't assume that the Great Reset will be successful, or that its goals will be met. That being said, what the "élite" want for the rest of is: Little or no international travel (travel only for the wealthy) Ending the use of fossil fuels Increased reliance on mass transit (private cars only for the wealthy) A society without personal property ("You will own nothing and you *will* be happy.") Yes, she did get a few things right, but she messed up in giving emphasis to "levels" (few take this seriously) and in her emphasis on one particular website. A distinction can be made among articles about MGTOW written by normies, between those that straight up *hate* MGTOW and will do anything to slander it, and those who are worried about it, but they are worried in a rational way, so they make at least a token effort to understand. Big companies have deep pockets, and they can keep it up as long as pushing an agenda is more important to them than making a profit. That being said, they prefer to make a profit, and some will pivot away from the extremes of the agenda, but they will still retain the fundamental agenda while moderating it enough to get audiences in the door.

It's less about abandoning comfort to chase money than it is about getting out of an increasingly politicized workplace, which will eventually turn on you, and getting into a smaller company that is less interested in pushing bullshit on employees. If you're making good money and living as a minimalist, you should have savings. Transitioning to a new job can be viewed as an experiment. It would allow you to save more. If it doesn't work out, you can live on savings for a while as you look for be…

However, both clearly understand that these are dangerous, and they have mobilized immediately to quash the idea. The CCP straight up shut down lying flat groups on the internet. The western governments are more subtle, using private social media companies to declare MGTOW a hate group and shutting it down without direct government intervention. In t…

I'm in my late 50s. First stumbled on MGTOW in 2012. Everything clicked. No red pill rage. Just made sense. That's the backstory. Make an effort not to be isolated. That means making an effort to keep in touch with friends and family, even if they aren't good about responding to your overtures. Men are easily self-sufficient and don't need others. This can lead to self isolation. So you need to make an effort not to get too isolated, even if it consumes time and money and doesn't appear to have …

Since they thrive on being miserable (and, more so, making others miserable), we can understand the paradox of declining female happiness as a counter-intuitive measure of female success. The less happy they are, the more they will have to complain about, and the more they have to complain about, the more they will thrive.

Some people are beyond saving. It's called triage. You save the ones you can, and try to make the others comfortable as they die (in the present case we're talking about spiritual death, but I'm sure you get what I mean). This guy is already dead inside, he just hasn't held the funeral yet. After you leave it alone for a few years, and you truly reach the point of not giving a shit, you can come back to blue pillers and treat it like a game. You can screw with their world and walk away laughing …

Johntheother made a good video last year or so in which he said every man is subject to being the basis for some girl's story of sexual abuse, because every woman is expected to have such a story, so what the man does really doesn't matter. He is going to be put into the role regardless.

Yes, people ignore reality, and they will do so until they literally are forced to stop ignoring reality. I sometimes use the analogy of a snow storm. If you have ever been in a city when it is hit by a snow storm, you will see that people keep trying to go about their routine business until they literally cannot go forward another inch in their cars. At the point, they will then walk away from their spun-out vehicle in the middle of the street, in the middle of traffic, and leave it to walk hom…

Yes, it is depressing, but it is less depressing the more your separate yourself from it and go your own way. For reasons that I completely understand, most men want to keep a foot in the normie world, because that's where things seem to be happening, but the more you get used to thinking things through for yourself, the more you will realize that being in touch with the normie world is like a slow drip of poison via an IV.

The study doesn't defy logic, but the authors also don't state what the problem is (or problems are). Here, we can do that. Several other responses here have named some obvious social forces that are making women miserable (in general). The whole project of contemporary society (mostly but not exclusively in western countries) is to get women into school and then into the workforce, have them focus on careers, and then to pretend like this is normal and women are going to be happy doing this. You'll get married and have a family, but they have to sign a legal agreement to pick up the pieces and bear the costs if she bails or turns into a nightmare post-marriage. Spell it all out, up to including them paying for hookers if she decides she wants a sexless marriage (as many women do, but only reveal after the legal fix is in).

I didn't discuss this as so many other answers had already commented, and I pretty much agreed with them. MGTOW is what an individual man can do. If enough men agree to something and socially enforce it, then there could be effective social change. In the absence of effective social change, or in the presence of a deteriorating social environment, one man does not have the power to do anything other than walk away. Is walking away giving women what they want, so they are showered by all the atte…

At 33 you will still have options for having children. Men can continue to father children well into their advanced years. There have already been several comments on surrogacy. That's one option. Another option is to father a child in another country, not bringing the mother to your country. You can support your child and its mother in a country that is not overtly hostile to male interests if you choose wisely. Of course, this comes with its own conflicts, but it is an alternative. It is adaptive when it motivates women to choose a father of her child from a genetically superior partner. In the context of civilization, this only occurs when subjected to social checks. Outside the context of civilization, these checks are delivered by nature and by men.

It is maladaptive in the content of contemporary social institutions. In traditional social institutions hypergamy was kept in check by a variety of mechanisms. It took I think three months until one of his friends reached out to him. I guess you can think of it as a kind of experiment to determine who actually cares about you. Part of it is just aging. You have a group of friends when you're young, and then they scatter or fall by the wayside. Sometimes you hear years later that they died. You ha…

Films are powerful. When a story is told in a compelling way, it makes an impression on people. So when people go back and watch old movies, and they see how life used to be, they are in danger of coming to the conclusion that we don't all need to live in a woke hellscape. That, in turn, could lead to action. In order to forestall any counter-revolutionary response to the cultural revolution that is engulfing western civilization, the woke shock troops have to do everything in their power to try…

Joseph Campbell wrote a lot of readable and enjoyable books. Pretty much everything he wrote is a good introduction. I would go for the "Masks of God" series, but that is more scholarly. Also Campbell's lectures are great. I have almost all of them and re-listen to them every year or two. Follow up on Campbell's bibliographical references to go deeper into the material. Also read some general texts on mythography.

There are several people (including Jordan Peterson) who said that they were warned from talking too much about Jung. I don't know if this is true, but a lot of people who followed Jung turned to pseudo-science claptrap, so one has to be especially perceptive to be able to find the line between what is valuable in Jung that what part of Jung was a Pied Piper who led the study of mind away from a scientific basis. I agree with you that much of what Jung held regarding the collective unconscious i…

I've always hated the world "dating." Women love it because it gives them the ambiguity of claiming anything they want. "We were just dating." No doubt you've heard this. But think of its this way: she spent 3 months with a guy and moves on to the next one. She tells the next guy, "I was dating this guy for like three months." He is going to assume that they had sex. So even if she didn't have sex with the chump, she still lowers her value. I mean, who would want to get with a chick who has a lo…

Campbell argued that mythology is a projection of the human psyche. That is to say, all that we have put in mythology—gods, demons, spirits, adventures, quests, heavens, hells, failures, and triumphs—all reflect the deepest parts of the human psyche (i.e., mind), projected out onto the cosmos as though it existed separately from ourselves. Campbell was deeply influenced by the work of Jung, who introduced the idea of the collective unconscious, which is a common set of images, experiences, and r…

A television producer with a big enough budget could do this and film it as reality TV. Buy a small town, populate it with women, and watch the fun unfold. To select the population, you do a bunch of interviews, and from the interviews you select the most angry, bitter, "I don't need no man" types. Let them go on about their independence, so this material can be cut in later when they're complaining about being expected to work. Something like this occurred in 19th century utopian communes, whic…

Unfortunately, the sciences have been corrupted along with the rest of society. Most scientists will continue to parrot their woke talking points ten years from now. Things have to get A LOT worse before normies wake up. And there will still be some people dumpster diving for food and not understanding that their society is a failure. The admission of failure is so difficult that many people will do anything to avoid the realization.

While this is a spectacular example of cuckoldry, reading this made me realize how much contemporary propaganda is based on the blank slate idea, whether individual or social. This cuck is treating children as a blank slate. It doesn't matter whose genes the kid has; they certainly won't grow up to be like their father, will they? Of course not! Similarly when the blank slate makes its appearance in social communities, we are told that it doesn't matter who is living in your neighborhood, since …

That's another fascinating story you've told, and I think the issue here is larger than MGTOW, since modern societies break down the traditional bonds that have held people together and offered comfort in times of trial. People know that they want an authentic community, but, when asked, the reality of community is so far from them that they cannot even give a sketch of what it is that they need. MGTOW has become a kind of community for men who have never met each other in person, but whose shar…

In the case of my house, the fire started in the bathroom fan. It was sprayed with a fire extinguisher from below, but I could still see orange through the blackened unit, so I crawled up in the attic and there were flames up there. I got down out of the attic, called 911, asked for the fire department to come, then went back into the attic a couple of times with a couple of fire extinguishers to slow down the progress of the fire. In an age of democracy, one of the most effective forms of propaganda is to publish fake polls that say the majority of people are onboard with whatever it is the government wants to do. Even if the "poll" isn't entirely fake, it would be child's play for a sophisticated polling operation to get a particular result simply by skewing the sample in a predictable way.

The other answers to your post—especially those so far by chakamaki and andreas-mgtow—fill out the manosphere conception of the black pill pretty nicely. It would be easy to expand on any of this, as one could trot out any ugly truth that touches any aspect of a man's life and treat this as an aspect of the black pill. So in so far as black pill "philosophy" is concerned, it could be elaborated to any degree of detail that one cared to elaborate it.

What you cite is the manosphere version of the black pill. The term is used just as often in political and social contexts, implying that one has seen the ugly truth and there is nothing that can be done about it. One can use "black pill" to mean all of these things—that we're well and truly fucked, and nothing can unfuck us. A lot of the objection to black pill ideas is really an attitude problem. Some people see the ugly truth of life and still maintain a sense of humor, laugh about it, and go…

Never violate the first rule. This kind of stuff is child's play with normies, who are easily distracted and re-directed. Try any of the following: I'm looking but I haven't found the right one yet. I got my heart broken and it's going to take time for me to heal. All of the good ones are taken. I've been dating but haven't narrowed it down to just one yet. Nice girls are pretty thin on the ground these days. My heart has been broken too many times. I'm sitting out this round. The important thin…

It doesn't necessary happen automatically. In contemporary psychotherapy people use the term "natural support network" to gauge if a person will be able to get help when they need it. Having a new job and moving to a new place means that you will be distant from whatever natural support network you had where you were previously established. You have to make an effort. That means reaching out to friends and family, involving yourself in whatever you can that is meaningful to you. I know that, in …

If we coordinate the need for community and the need for purpose we get four permutations: men who need community men who need purpose men who need both community and purpose men who need neither community and purpose I suspect that most men fall into 3, and few, very few, fall into 4. Further permutations follow from what constitutes a viable community and what constitutes a viable purpose; these will vary for different men. Most individuals take their purpose from the communities in which they…

Parts of it might be rolled out, to the extent possible, but there is a limit to what can be successful precisely because it is dystopian. There are always powerful people with a comprehensive view of the world that they want to bring about. While we should all have a rational concern for what is now being called the "Great Reset," the likelihood of it being realized as it has been proposed is rather low. Our real concern should be the awkward and ham-handed attempt to implement parts of the Great Reset program, which are likely to have suboptimal outcomes. You might also consider providing the money to found an institution that could bear your name (e.g., a charity, an independent research institution, etc.), finance a business venture that wouldn't get financed otherwise, give money to a worthy charity on condition that they put your name on a building—that sort of thing.

This is being done by force of law. The article makes it sound like people are voluntarily doing this. In the state I am in, I can't buy groceries unless I put on a mask to enter a store. This is not a choice, this is necessity. As soon as the law goes away, the masks largely go away. Yes, a few people will continue to wear masks. They are welcome to do so. Good observation. It would be interesting to look into this more deeply. Yes, but deranged people under control are far better than deranged persons not under some control. That's why we put crazy people into mental hospitals. No, we should not sabotage our lives. I'm just talking about what things were like before we made society unworkable.

Under different laws and different social conventions, an ordinary many could do more than jack squat. It really doesn't take much to keep a woman in line, but that little that it takes has been made illegal in our society. Hence men walk away, because it is not worth it to have a deranged person in your life that you have been made powerless to control.

Women without men become deranged. Men give women the stability and rationality they lack. By creating a society in which it is too expensive and hazardous to take on a women, we have created a society in which women are going to be deranged.

It's always been like that. It was like that when I was in high school decades ago. Yes, life will be much, much better when you get out of school. If you are one of those people who love school, the real world will be a come down, but if you're one of the people who disliked school, the real world will be a great relief and an improvement. The people who peak in high school often have pathetic lives thereafter.

Here's a tip: don't think about happiness, don't focus on happiness, don't work at being happy. The surest way to be unhappy is to obsess over happiness. Start with small satisfactions. Work your way up to bigger things. Fill your life with things that satisfy you. Seek out what you find to be meaningful and valuable. Happiness will follow in proportion as you are able to cultivate meaning and value in your life.

The unexpurgated sharing of personal experiences that has appeared in MGTOW forums has made me more aware of the patterns of female behavior, and I watch for them. Even in women I know to be decent, I see the little tells of hypergamy and narcissism, and I carefully contain any relationships I have with women so that they are never in a position to do me harm. The problem with this, as with all tradcon stuff, is that idea that you can turn the clock back on behavior and not change anything else. One of the relevant questions here, if we accept the argument that MGTOW isn't a solution, it is a survival technique, is how long the period of survival is going to last. If it is going to take society several generations to re-adjust itself, that means that there is nothing but MGTOW as survival for several generations of men, and that means that, even if MGTOW is survival not a solution, for these generations of men it is and will be their life. In this latter case, is it possible to distingu…

The Razor's Edge (1984): Not really MGTOW, but it does drop a lot of red pills, and it shows the life of a man who sacrificed the predictable life expected of him to do what he wanted to do. Based on a novel by Somerset Maugham. The Snows of Kilimanjaro (1952): Based on a short story by Earnest Hemmingway. The protagonist lives his own life. Women come and go, but they aren't his focus. Lots of blue pill shit in this film, but still worth it for the underlying message.

If you can stomach the normie-fest of LinkedIn, it is still probably the best place for business networking. Scholarly networking is surprisingly dependent upon Twitter, though there are specific slack channels and discord servers for particular interests, but you have to be invited into these spaces. I used LinkedIn, Twitter, Gab, Parler, Minds, and any other platform I can find, to spread the message as widely as possible. I get the most interaction on Twitter, though everyone here knows how c…

That's part of it, but that isn't all of it. A lot of women have deep-seated resentment for men because men achieve things and enjoy life without needing to be focused on another person. Anyone asking a question like this on social media is not yet ready for a serious discussion. They may think they are ready, but they're not. Most answers will be disingenuous. The few sane answers will be shouted down. If you want honest opinions, you have to get people alone, make them comfortable with you, and then get them talking over a period of time so they eventually get comfortable with saying what they really think. This takes time and effort. Anything less than this is not to be taken…

LinkedIn is a normie shitshow. Honest opinions are viewed as cancer there. It's like Facebook, but for business, not family and friends. Act accordingly. If you have to be there, follow the rules. If you don't have to be there, leave. By the way, I have never known anyone personally who has gotten a job as a result of connections through LinkedIn. Can't go back. It's only ever larping when you try to go back. We might be able to go forward into a society that recaptures some of the better elements of the 20th century, but that's not on the agenda any time soon. It's going to get worse before it gets better. The most we can hope for is to avoid complete and total social collapse. After we've come out the other side is when we can start seriously thinking about what a functional society looks like.

Women aren't smart enough to consciously do this. They do it out of instinct. Just like they have no idea what makes them happy, they have no idea why they are sabotaging men that they supposedly care about. So we might be able to think our way out of this, but we don't think out way through this. It's not a plan, it's just the instincts everyone has as a result of survival behavior in the past that was selective.

Wikipedia can be extremely useful, but is has to be used with caution. One has to make a distinction between politically-charged content and non-political content. Many of the articles are deeply researched and can provide a lot of references for follow-up research. The problem is taking anything at face value. Don't. Look up the sources yourself, even getting original copies of books (by inter-library loan) to make sure that claimed quotes are actually in the work cited.

Agreed. I feel the same way with Amazon. In fact, the Amazon search is so awful about giving unrelated results that if I am looking for a book I usually use a search engine outside Amazon to find the book within the Amazon site. Amazon buries stuff in the long tail. Google is finished in terms of being a reliable resource. Everything they do is compromised, including their AI research (cf. "algorithmic fairness"). It seems that we are approaching late Roman Empire conditions where people begin to realize that they need to flee the cities. It is unfortunate that we have to pass through another filter, but we've played out this narrative further than any other society, and added science and technology into the mix to accelerate thin…

You're welcome. I'm an old man, and I come to this sub every day to remind myself and keep my spine strong. Anyone with any sense observing me as a child (I now recognize in hindsight) can have sat me down and talked to me seriously, telling me that marriage and relationships might work for other men,…

It all depends on what he wants out of life. Since it's his idea, it's something he thought of for himself, so that's a good start. You're right that he won't be filthy rich, but I person can live a great life even if not rich. Most people are rich, and many men work themselves to death while enjoying very little of what they earn. They need the money that men earn to be supporting women, because the women can't support themselves. If men don't support women, then end up on public assistance. And, of course, men pay for that too, through taxes, but it's so much neater if men will just give their money to women without having to continually raise taxes. Yes, personality type matters. It really depends on you as an individual. Most men experience a significant decline in their sex drive as they age, eventually getting to the point at which sex is no longer very important, and probably not sufficiently important to pay for. Whether or not you will be happy banging whores at 70, or you'll find some friends with benefits, the important thing is to know yourself, know what you want, and know what it is that satisfies (or dissatisfies) you. Whether o…

Good luck with the workload. Politically, a pandemic is a problem from hell, and I know that people in positions of authority are in a no-win situation. No matter what you do, there will be critics on both sides, saying you did too much or did too little.

The Big One is still coming, but COVID-19 isn't it. Eventually there will be a pandemic that outraces scientific efforts to contain it, and which kills 10, 20, or 30 percent of the population of the planet, but we already know that very few people (in a demographic sense) are dying from COVID-19. Sure, people are losing their shit, panic buying, hoarding, and acting like idiots. A woman—for that matter, any individual—who calls themselves "strong," "smart," or "independent" is none of these things. It's sort of like calling yourself a "visionary"—you don't do it, you wait for others to say it, because if you described yourself this way you just look dumb, or worse, desperate. There is a technical term for this in psychodynamic psychology—Verneinung, which is German for "negation," meaning that when someone emphatically insists upon something, probably the negation of it…

They don't care because they don't have to care. If you have a billion dollars and lose half of it to your ex-wife, you still have 500 million and there's a lot you can do with 500 million. If you live paycheck-to-paycheck and you lose half of what you have to your ex-wife, you're living in your car and have nothing. We register our decency or our contempt for others on many different levels, from the expression on our faces to the tone of our voice. So not making small talk (or making small talk) isn't the line of demarcation between decency and contempt. Men write the greatest love poetry, the greatest love songs, and the greatest love stories. There is a scene in the film Doctor Zhivago when one of the women he is writing poetry about picks up a poem, reads it, and says something like, "This isn't me, it's you." At least she gets it.

Japan is a wonderful place to travel. One of the most civilized experiences a man can have is to go to a public bath, preferably an onsen. Especially since you've been exposed to MGTOW at a far earlier age that was I. I was always temperamentally MGTOW, but without having it made explicit for me I made a lot of avoidable mistakes. I probably would have continued to make the same mistakes if I hadn't stumbled across Stardusk on Youtube in 2012. Men who are very focused on some interest or their career tend to not expend much thought on their relationships, and so are vulnerable to making the same mistakes over and over again.
