A good time to quit smoking is when you get a bad cold where your coughing and feeling rough. You won't want to smoke much when your throat is super sore. Use the 2 weeks of sickness and just don't smoke. You will recover faster and afterwards you will be mostly detoxed from the addiction.

It's one of those things that makes getting in the door easier but once you have 3+ years work experience people basically acknowledge the degree as a brownie point and ask you about your work experience instead. If you have 3+ years experience as a developer in industry, nobody really bats an eye if you don't have a degree. I'd say get it because it will make life easier but it's not required.

Highschool + computer science dropout + homeless afterwards because of an AWALT. I literally had nothing, $0, zero education, homeless. 6 months later I now make 100k as a software engineer because I went out busted my ass and proved I knew how to code. Do not make excuses for your suffering. You will suffer as long as you allow it. Go out there and prove it to yourself, you'll be surprised how far you can take yourself when you fight for it.
