It's too bad that most of the blue-collar guys I have worked with have been some of the biggest pussy worshipers I have seen. Maybe it's just every field really, but that's been my experience at least.

If you can read a drawing properly...you are golden. Many electricians (long time journeymen even!) Are not worth their salt. Field workers are fucking lazy too.

If you are going blue collar to chase money. Stay the fuck out.

IT people used to be intelligent and very knowledgeable but nowadays everything computer related has been simplified and dumbed down in order to reach even the most stupid customer that you're now considered an IT expert if you can setup a wifi connection and make something autostart after boot up ...

Nowadays a lot of people with no talent whatsoever for computers are working in IT, only chasing money and not really having any interest in what they do.
These people are just stupid no matter what occupation they have.
It just so happens that IT is where the money's at so they are disproportionately represented in that sector.

That said, where I live, blue collar work gets rarely chosen by the younger generation and so a lot of companies have to scrape the very bottom of the barrel regarding candidates for an apprenticeship, so the overall quality of blue collar workers is significantly dropping too ...

I think not. Society would scramble to rebuild technology and our infrastructure. People who knew how to engineer electronics, code and other IT skills would be the saviors of humanity as they restored electricity, internet and other infrastructure.
