The video may express important issues, but the inappropriate and music and the expectation that the viewer read lengthy texts detracts from it. In fact, I really wish that creators of (in many cases good) videos wouldn't ruin their work with annoying music. Music should be in the background only.

I'm not sure that there is no debate on "femininity" at all. We have been a told a lot about the positive virtues of women over recent decades. I think there's a genuine need to discuss "masculism", and maleness in a positive light. I think that men (and especially boys) are fed negative images of themselves and I think the consequences of this are serious but unrecognised. I first saw this video when I came into the MRM about 4 months ago. It's pretty devestating really. I want to say something nice here about women - I think that the two women who intervened at the end of this video are great! Women like these really make me believe that there is hope. I've asked myself the question, "what would I do if I saw a guy being abused like this." I'm not sure. As a guy, I'm more likely to face a false accusation (the two women who did intervene wouldn't have this issue)…

I understand my tone may have suggested a feeling of cultivated anger but that is far from the case. I didn't mean to suggest that, and I'm sorry if that sounded that way. I was simply saying that I try not to cultivate anger (although I think it is natural and OK to feel it sometimes). Good luck at college.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. It does sound like a light sentence. I don't actually don't think the sentence of the woman in the news article was unduly light. She was sentenced to 7 years, and may serve about 4.5 or so in total. She didn't kill him and the articles suggests he wasn't too seriously injured. Are you suggesting that we should just shut up and take it? I'm not sure he's saying that. I think he might be saying that we should stop serving women and ignore them. The problem is that most men simply won't do this.

It was a fair article. Usually news articles describe female perpetrators as "heartbroken" and run out the line "a woman scorned..." and all that. I'm not sure the man would have got such fair treatment from the system had he been alone in the house with the woman.

I'm really sorry to hear your experiences. My experiences are different, and no where near as bad as yours, but i can identify a little. As a kid, I was kicked in the groin. I had spasms of severe pain for years afterwards. There's absolutely nothing funny about it. Women who do this should receive prison sentences. (PS. Have just changed ID from "LastLegionary". Glad to be hear, but new to Reddit.)
