My freedom lives in these pages and I hope that my words can inspire others to take back their happiness and their identity buy using their voice to illuminate what's been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness. This poetry is gonna suck, isn’t it? She spent 38 words saying absolutely nothing. Also not specific about which transgressions she refers to. “Pretty boys are poisonous” seems like a prime reverse-the-roles test candidate for me. Vaguely gesturing at men’s evilness is not a good way…

It's extremely interesting to see that "what it pretends it is" and "shedding its noble original mission statement" actually contain an admission that Men's Rights is a topic worthy of discussion... And then right back to the strawman. Then again, I admit this subreddit is a bit whiny, but we often whine for good reasons. Most of the toxicity I see surrounds the fact MRAs are split down the middle between those who want to return to traditional gender roles and those who want to do away with gen…

Can we stop with the "woman does crime" posts? Feminists are always citing male crime statistics, so why are we playing into their framing? Murdering men is already illegal anyway.

Nothing from those video titles suggest to me that she's an MRA. Nonetheless, she draws her audience from a group of disaffected men who could make great MRAs given the right influence. Instead, these same men get drawn into paleo-conservatism, as if life for men was great a century ago! To me those make her sound like just an anti-feminist, which is good enough I guess. Not good enough if she only opposes the aspects of feminism which happen to be good! It is an injustice that women got the vot…

It didn't get passed or included because Feminists are pulling all the strings. What are you talking about? All the people who openly opposed the bill were anti-feminists! Feminists actually want draft equality, not because the draft is misandrist, but because it's "misogynist" to women who want to get drafted and "transphobic" to trans men.

has she ever claimed to be an MRA? Recent video titles include “average men run society and we shit on them as a thank you” and “Modern women POLICING men’s language”, and she reacted to the Men’s Rights vs. Feminism Jubilee. Maybe I’m wrong and she’s serious She’s serious. She’s defended that position in debates, though she has done the “women haven’t earned it” bit. Ultimately her position isn’t coherent though

It is not like feminists ever address misandry in their ranks Because misandry doesn't hurt the feminist goal of destroying the "patriarchy". Misogyny does hurt the masculist goal of building something superior to patriarchy, especially since our position is already quite unpopular.

Men's Rights: Women most affected. Pearl has been selling shirts saying "women shouldn't vote" and "repeal the 19th Amendment". So in this case it actually is women most affected by something falsely marketed as Men's Rights.

Did they introduce a national abortion law after Roe v Wade was abolished? No they didn’t. Because it wouldn’t get past the filibuster. Many states did pass constitutional abortion protection, and others forced ballot initiatives and won in the polls. Instead there were all the “joke bills” by clowns in state Congress (mostly in States with legal abortion) about compulsory vasectomies. Ah yes. It's one of the reasons why there has been something like a 4000% increase in young girls identifying as LGBT in the last 4 years. It's trendy. Just like after being left-handed stopped being associated with the devil there was a big increase of left-handed people. It's all a trend!

Most women can't even decide if she wants to have sex with a man without consulting with her friends first. I always thought that was a serious advantage. That’s not how “good reasons” work. By your definition all reasons are “good enough” simply because it’s their reasons. But if I were to say “I hate n*ggers because 3+2=9” that is simply a bad reason

Women hated men long before feminism weaponized that hatred in order to gain legal equality (and beyond). They’re pretty much biologically engineered to be suspicious whenever a man is around
/r/MensRights07/08/23 06:55 AM

There is never a good reason for men to hate women. I do hate the behavior of a good majority of women (as I do men), but I could never hate women (or men)

You don’t seem to get it. Republicans don’t oppose draft equality because of some nuanced details in the bill. They just oppose draft equality. The Bill Amendment was literally called “Don’t Draft Our Daughters”. Funny how when it comes to exclusion of either men or trans people, cons become the greatest “feminists” known to man.
/r/MensRights07/08/23 06:50 AM

But draft equality was nothing like that. Republicans simply opposed it. Just like they oppose the Equal Rights Amendment, which liberals imagine will help women but will in fact help men far more.

You pass a straight bill saying women must sign up for the draft too, it would probably pass with bi-partianship. No shot. If that was possible, why hasn’t it happened? And why was it left on the cutting room floor when the bill finally passed? Republicans axed it. They disagree with draft equality because they want to be able to draft men without creating an entire civil rights firestorm. I’m a fairly level-headed conservative Is that why you called MensLib a bunch of “phags”? What am I missing…

This is what FiveThirtyEight refers to as "bad use of polling". Not that I dispute that society views women more positively than men, but I dispute this is a good measure of whether it's true.
/r/MensRights07/08/23 02:14 AM

Each of the issues you list has a direct connection to men’s rights. Trans women are constantly demonized as brutish, creepy, and dangerous in a way eerily similar to negative stereotypes about men. This is no surprise, since transphobes view trans women as disguised men. Harry Styles is a man, and people got mad at him for wearing a dress. If women can wear pants why can’t men wear dresses? The GOP recently killed Draft Equality which was supposed to be included in a major bill.
/r/MensRights07/08/23 02:08 AM

Marriage is only a legal disadvantage for men if your marriage is already unhealthy. Studies show that men remain happier throughout marriage whereas women’s satisfaction is only boosted temporarily.

so your saying men who date women half there age must be a contorl freak? No. I’m saying men who insist on exclusively dating women tend to be controlling. You can find young women more attractive, but it’s the insistence that is creepy. his looking for someone who doesn't sleep around as much and is more loyal Those two have zero connection, unless you’re supposing that someone who sleeps around will necessarily be unfaithful. For one, partnering exclusively with people half his age because any older has hit "the wall" is really creepy controlling behavior, and objectifies women. Also caring about "body count" or "cooking for you" is another sign of insecurity. "Why do I support the rights of women when they don't support ours?" is just such a red flag. I actually think the Barbie Movie speaks more about male struggle than regular pop-feminist girlboss bullshit. I still refuse to see it because it did a bad job portraying men’s rights, but a “kill all men” film it was not.

Male and female privileges tend to be complementary opposites: Women don’t have to worry about dying alone and unloved. Men don’t have to worry about unwanted sexual attention. Women are perceived as incompetent at practical work. Men are perceived as incompetent emotionally. Men treat women as sex objects, women treat men as nothing at all (or worse). Men receive 2% higher pay for the same job, then women spend all of men’s money. If men do happen to already be successful, they are able to reac…

Lead with consent. Mix it up with consent. Then end with consent. Then find ways to present Men's Rights in terms of helping women. Ex. "You hate incels, right? I hate incels. You know how social media can negatively affect the self-image of teenage girls? I feel like incels kinda spring from the same place". Use feminist terms like "benevolent misogny" if you have to. Better a feminist who accidentally helps men than a feminist who actively hurts men.

It's actually pretty simple: Hollywood execs are demons wearing human skin. They don't care about anything but profits, so they'll virtue-signal progressive principles while violating every labor law in the books simultaneously. These execs, of course, can't really be bothered during the hiring process to tell the difference between progressives who care about equality and reverse racist misandrists who only oppose white patriarchy because they are jealous of white men.

It’s not accurate at all. In the movie Ken sees the real world and says “this is awesome! We should make Barbieland more like this!” But MRAs see the real world and say “this fucking sucks, why do I have to work so hard and get rewarded with an early grave?” The incel/PUA people don’t really support men’s rights at all, but they are conflated with people like me who think being a stay-at-home dad would be really awesome

Feminism is not representative of women, and Reddit feminism is not even representative of feminism. All the feminists you meet in real life have touched grass and are not virgin femcels. I’ve conversed with feminists starting with some variation of “I’m pro-choice, I just think circumcision is gross” and I have not, in fact, gotten yelled at. No, I am saying that it is hypocritical of women to expect men to have freed them from traditional gender roles while still holding men to theirs. The massive numbers of women entering the workforce since that time has severely depressed the value of labour. This economic take is complete bullshit. First of all, labor doesn't just spontaneously occur, it happens because there is an economic need for it. It's not like people who didn't need to work magically decided to spend 8 hours a day working and the market just decided to double the prices. To play devil’s advocate, perhaps each gender is expected to list positive traits in their partner which are somewhat unusual. In other words, men doing housework is not a default expectation, whereas women women doing it is. Well calling it an “agenda” implies there’s some sort of coordinated effort to push an ideology rather than a particular contestant simply being popular with the voters. Feminists can’t address men’s issues without blaming it on the “patriarchy”. They presuppose this of all anti-male bias, making women the “actual victims”. If you’re an American you can just rely on our vastly superior technology to vaporize the opponent (plus gamer lights and country music) before you sweep in and conquer the rubble. On the other side of the coin, just because “more👏female 👏drone 👏pilots” is possible doesn’t mean it’s necessary. I do support draft equality though: In theory it’s obviously better to oppress only men than to oppress everyone, but in practice it’s easier to care…

Same with the men in Russia too! The war needs to end, and Russia must learn it’s lesson not to wage war on the people (especially men) on both countries.

Woah calm down there. You’re so obsessed with me you followed me all the way to my YouTube channel and back here as well? Even tried to guess my age? You literally tried to cite male aggression and violent crime rates as evidence that males and females can’t occupy the same spaces. Every argument you use against trans women relies on common misandrist stereotypes of predatory men who can’t be trusted. MRAs can’t work with feminists. It’s not possible. We hate each other too much. I’ve always proposed that we use cultural issues popular among feminists to hook people into Men’s Rights. My Body My Choice aligns well with circumcision. Rape Culture aligns well with disbelieved male rape victims. Trans Rights aligns with stereotypes of men as naturally predatory, etc.

Reactionary backlashes will reinvigorate racism, misogyny, homophobia, etc. but in my view misandry is more of a civilizational constant: nobody ever liked men in the first place, so it’s hard to hate us much more.

BDSM is very explicitly meant to be consensual. If you don't like it (I don't either) then don't do it, but other people have other different lifestyle choices and sexual preferences. Creepiness is completely subjective. I'd say it's unfair to think of a guy as creepy just for looking at a half-naked woman. But whether he is creepy is completely subjective.

Men were abused by the system long before feminism came around. Forced conscription, anyone? Feminism has actually helped men historically, largely by accident. For example, feminists advocate easy access to birth control, which accidentally makes it easier for men to not be saddled with child care payments for 20 years.

Thankfully, we have the presumption of innocence in this country. Only in the court of law. Reality doesn't change based on whether you can demonstrate historical facts. Either he did rape, or he didn't. And circumstantial evidence suggests he did.

Well the argument today now that the adjusted pay gap is basically gone is as follows: certain career paths pay less than others, and it happens that the lower-paying jobs are associated with women. For example, being a parent could be considered a full-time job, yet mothers work absolutely unpaid! Then comes the leap in logic: The way we value certain jobs over others is a sign of patriarchy.

It’s not blind belief when we already have an instance where he was found liable for sexual assault. Rape cases are notoriously difficult to prove in court, but you’re basically dismissing all circumstantial evidence because we don’t have a conviction for crimes past the statute of limitations

He has been accused of rape by over a dozen women, and the Carroll case did include rape (though not held liable because no penetration proven). And jury pools are usually made out of registered voters. You don't have to be registered to vote to be called for Jury duty. And again, there is a jury selection process meant to weed out biased jurors. If that doesn't satisfy you, then stop pretending you care about what a court of law says.

You're conflating criminal trials with civl ones. Do you have a reason to trust one court over another? After all, your criticism was a biased jury, but this would be no different in a criminal case. It took the jury only 3 hours of deliberation to agree that the preponderance of evidence was the sexual assault had happened. Isn’t that just circular logic? They think men writing about women is oppressive, but can only justify that by presupposing that they’re oppressed. What child? Abortions ensure no child ever exists. If the mother wants to have the child without the father’s support, that is her choice and responsibility. I do support child care programs for working programs. The mother doesn’t get off free either. If she gets pregnant, she has to ensure her child has a good life, or pay for an abortion to prevent the child’s existence. That is responsibility.
/r/MensRights17/01/23 08:21 AM

The responsibility and the ability to revoke it is closely linked to the commitment of bringing a child to term. Your argument is that responsibility is directly correlated to the amount of a process which has been completed. Once a man ejaculates, his job is done and therefore he has fully committed, whereas a woman has not committed until she delivers, and therefore can abort along the way. This is fallacious, because it simultaneously supposes that responsibility is a process for women, and t…

Yes, women can take responsibility for an unplanned pregnancy by aborting it. And men can take responsibility by surrendering rights and responsibilities and leaving it to the woman to decide.

You didn’t read his post. He specifically said men should not decide abortion for women. “That’s life” is not an argument.

The Devil’s Advocate position is since women are actually carrying the parasite, abortion is self-defensive while financial abortion is not self-defensive. It’s not just about misandry because the non-pregnant mother of a lesbian couple would be subject to the same restraints. The counter-argument follows thusly: 1. Justifying abortion as self-defensive carries the admission that ending the life of a fetus would otherwise be morally impermissible. In other words, the self-defense argument conced…

Unlike women losing abortion rights, men have always been subject to bodily control through circumcision, military drafts, etc. So it’s less that we had our rights taken away and more that we never had them in the first place. The only “right” men have had taken away is the right to own our wives/daughters/sisters. Y’all can keep that one though.

Hard disagree. Male friendships are centered around interests and “doing stuff,” meaning if you have nothing to do mutually you won’t hang out. Women talk about their personal lives, their hopes and dreams and struggles; that’s why women somehow always have a place to crash after a breakup, whereas men who don’t own the place get tossed on the street.

This is mostly a bad thing, but as a man you don’t get bombarded by sexual propositions and dick pics, which does bother women. Also, you get to take initiative rather than waiting for potential partners to come to you… But again that’s also more of a bad thing. Additionally, your chances of becoming a CEO goes from like 0.1% to a whopping 0.3%, so that’s cool too I guess. Also no periods.

Tbh young men know how hard young men have it, but don’t necessarily treat each other super kindly. Between young men there is a lot of macho competition and putting each other down. I think people who are aware of Men’s suffering aren’t particularly sympathetic anyway.

Verbal “consent” doesn’t always correspond to actual consent. If you put someone in a situation where they feel like they have no choice but to “consent” that’s still rape. If someone says “No! Stoppit!” but continues to thrust along you might be in the clear. Use situational awareness, and realize women are absolutely aware of your greater size and strength and it terrifies them. You may unintentionally have sex with a woman not knowing she doesn’t really want to, but charges are very unlikely …

It’s obviously not appropriate to make fun of a person’s small penis, but it’s another thing entirely to make fun of an asshat for obviously fake and insecure performative masculinity. Correlation is not causation. The mechanisms of inflation are pretty complex, involving fiscal and monetary policy. I won’t say that all jobs are socially necessary because they aren’t. But what I will say is those jobs which aren’t socially necessary don’t really bite into the labor demand needed to produce goods; meanwhile new wage earners are likely to consume more, creating excess demand for production/labor. In other words, bullshit administrative jobs are actually really great for the working class from a simple monetary perspective.

Now we’re getting away from conceptual to practical territory. I’m pretty sure the pay gap has reversed for unmarried people without children, and the “adjusted” pay gap is like 1 cent on the dollar now. For the most part I think women are just not built to climb corporate ladders compared to men, and we’d need a more cooperative economy for women to truly excel. And we need to do something about boys in education too, cuz that is not working.

It’s true that a lot of administrative work is completely unnecessary, but this can be attributed to corporate culture and perverse incentives for people to appear productive in order to justify their own job’s existence, rather than women entering the workforce. They'll probably disappear because the draft will no longer be in the national conversation. I do believe that people who say we need to abolish the draft actually want the draft abolished. A word can have multiple definitions. We understand this when it comes to gender identities where man could mean “adult human male” or “person who takes a masculine social role” or simply “human”. The real question is why we group all these different types of activists under the umbrella “feminist”. Are you commenting on the ideological tradition or the ease with which progressive feminists can slip into reactionary misandry? Or are you simply using it to insult feminism altogether as a concept …

I think Incel Ideology is different from people who, descriptively, are involuntarily celibate. The latter group is as old as time, while the former is a new phenomenon. Incel Ideology is bio-essentialist which really sucks because it’s a pretty bad lens through which to look for solutions.
/r/MensRights01/12/22 05:34 PM

Again, you’re making it about you. Sometimes fathers are bad parents, but their money is always good. Sometimes the best thing a father can do is stay away and provide money. Same with bad mothers

They're both disgustingly rich, so this doesn't really matter. But last I checked Ye fought for custody, so if he really cared about his children, child support is reasonable. Are you against the very concept of child support? I think if a man consents to be the father, he consents to support his children. Same goes for the mother if the father gets custody. Maybe there should be a financial line after which child support is not necessary, but that is not a moral line. Also, I generally just sup…

Usually a woman doesn't slap a man with intent to seriously injure, so if you're not actually in danger you should take the high road and just leave if possible. If you hit back, some white knights might come to her aid
/r/MensRights01/12/22 05:42 AM

I think "never hit a woman" has been an old-fashioned saying for a long time now. Women get a lot more social leeway when it comes to hitting someone without true intent to injure (and committing rape), but I don't think many people literally think it's okay to hit or rape men. You just don't want to be that guy who fantasizes about getting slapped by a woman so he has an excuse to pound her into the dirt with wildly discommensurate force. Unless you're in actual danger, it's not usually wise to…

It is not at the top of the thread when I look at it. And people don't look at the comments section if they already find the post disagreeable. If the sub truly did not support the outright ban of the topic, that user would’ve been removed as a mod. What are you talking about? Last I checked subreddits are not democracies. Edit: Cicero seems to be the earliest moderator, implying he created and owns the subreddit. So you are extrapolating the opinion of one asshole to the entire subreddit. Excellent.
/r/MensRights01/12/22 05:19 AM

I was asking where the hypocrisy was because the title doesn't really mean anything to anybody who doesn't already know what you're talking about. How the hell is some random visitor going to know you're talking about financial abortion? A random dude would see you criticizing the take about Women's Autonomy and assume you're just anti-choice. This is rhetoric 101.
/r/MensRights01/12/22 05:17 AM

That policy seems to have been decided by exactly one moderator, Ciceros_Assassin, and it apparently generated a lot of pushback from the subreddit. I'm not saying a sufficient number of feminists support financial abortion, but what you provided is not proof in itself.

/r/MensRights28/11/22 03:40 PM

You are, in real time, demonstrating my point. “Scientists were wrong” (most weren’t alarmist ENOUGH) does not mean “Science is unreliable” and it certainly doesn’t mean “wishful thinking is MORE reliable than scientists” like you are literally suggesting. “Humans have a way of working shit out” is another unfalsifiable claim (not a historically informed one, I might add) which could easily be adopted into political apathy.
/r/MensRights28/11/22 03:31 PM

Because female and women are not the same thing. Some females don’t identify as women but non-binary or men. As for the apparent double standard where women will talk about female-sex issues but not like it when their sex and gender are equated, it’s kinda like how black people will call each other “nigga” but not like it when you do it.

I thought we were against alimony in this subreddit. I sure am. The woman should not have had to pay £50,000 for her divorce. Has ANY evidence been presented that the accusation is false? Regardless of whether the accusation is true or false, a society should not be set up in such a way that a person is practically being fined money for not being rich enough to go to court. It’s a total catch-22, and if it had been a female rapist demanding alimony you all would recognize this immediately.

Incels should not be on the slurs list. Many self-labels have also seen use as offensive remarks (e.g. nerd). A slur doesn’t have to be of an oppressed class though: Cr*cker is a well-known anti-white slur, and there are also ethnic slurs applied to people who are white. Also, I think a population which is largely deprived of sex is by any conventional understanding underprivileged in some way. Most importantly, prohibited words shouldn’t be a thing.

That was not your claim. Your claim is that men are not having their rights violated, the solution is just to work hard and stop being a slob. If you replaced “men” with “blacks” it would sound identical to a klan member. How about you stop assuming women are superior workers, men are naturally just slobs, and we can somehow bootstrap our way out of the problem? You’re no socialist, just a liberal who thinks you can fix the personnel without fixing the system.
/r/MensRights12/11/22 09:11 AM

This is not true. Even women in modest clothing get harassed or raped (and men too); the whole reason Islam forces women to cover their hair and sometimes entire body is this exact reason: Islamists believe men cannot refrain from sexualizing women. What is considered modest or immodest is culturally determined and intersubjective

A big problem with women is they don’t really communicate how to make them comfortable. It’s up to you to figure it all out yourself. Don’t be a woman in this situation. If you don’t want your girl talking to other guys, or if you think women ought to be uncomfortable with men by default (except you), tell her you’re an insecure crapsack who distrusts any perceived competition (AKA men) and hopefully she’s a catholic virgin dom. We at MensRights believe men can be trusted around women.

No, it’s not that it’s funny when a man suffers, it’s a hyperbolic depiction of the insensitivity women can display towards men’s desires. You do realize this conspiracy theory is self-contradictory, right? If men are being used for labor and soldiers (which is real), then why would the FBI be trying to simultaneously feminize them? It’s either one or the other. It just makes no sense to “turn boys into girls” or whatever if the goal is to enslave boys.
/r/MensRights13/10/22 12:33 AM

They probably do, if by feminazi you mean the feminists who do actually make hating men a central part of their message
/r/MensRights13/10/22 12:31 AM

Feminists are actually about evenly split between anti-men, pro-men, and man-dismissive. It’s difficult to be pro-trans if you’re consciously misandrist: either you believe men are culturally inferior and thus trans men are evil, or you believe males are born inferior and thus trans women are not actually women. The cognitive dissonance is higher than most people can handle

Women can be put in non-combat roles. But the draft should be altogether abolished anyway.
/r/MensRights12/10/22 10:33 PM

Worse, actually. Feminists help women regardless of what happens to men. Tradcons make things worse for everyone all the time. Unlike feminists, tradcons never implement policies that accidentally help men too.

OR they tried to change the law and they failed. If they had enough political power to change trans women to female and trans men to male for the purposes of the draft, they would also have had enough to eliminate gender requirements altogether. They tried to do the latter, and they failed.

A person is an Incel if he (or she) is involuntarily celibate, and identifies as an Incel. That's it. Usually inceldom carries with it essentialist beliefs about the inherent nature of men and women (chad vs. virgin, female hypergamy, etc.) but it's not necessarily the case. Female incels are often called femcels.

Really depends. People like Charlie Kirk will raise an alarm about how "leftists are trying to destroy masculinity" but really he is as pro-circumcision, anti-paternal leave, and pro-military draft as most traditional conservatives. I do think dying at war is a toxic expectation forced upon men.

That is a very sexist comment. I don’t believe for a second that it is men’s nature to be so disrespectful as to bounce from girl to girl only valuing the pussy. Most men see women as people, and value more than just physical attractiveness. I’m against frivolous censorship, but also I’d say your perception of men’s general nature is likely a self-report.

Because 1. Some feminists, like all “ists”, are unreasonable and incapable of acting in good faith. 2. Some MRAs, like all people, are also unreasonable and incapable of acting in good faith. 3. There is pre-existing distrust between the two camps. So even when a debate concerning the wage gap, where both sides make valid points, arises, from one crowd or the other shit will be flung. Please stop pretending a large amount of feminists want to give all boys vasectomies. They “propose” it as an argumentum ad absurdum of the idea women can’t control their own reproductive choices. It is deliberately unreasonable, that’s the WHOLE POINT.

Matt Walsh literally thinks men and women can’t be friends. The conservative “defense of masculinity” really amounts to nothing more than enforcing gender roles like expecting men to carry financial burdens and fight in wars so they can die young while women live long. There’s no way to win with you, is there? If the article had suggested men “become better looking,” you would accuse it of perpetuating unrealistic expectations of men, or of stereotyping men as unattractive or unable to practice hygiene. You actually oppose the concept of self-improvement. This is all projection. Women are not psychopaths like you. They are not just seeking validation. I don’t know what I said which is “apologism”, I only stated the plain unfortunate fact that in-groups discriminate against out groups. Black separatist groups are allowed to be much bolder than white supremacists when talking about preserving the melanin in the bloodline and killing Jews. This is because well-meaning white liberals think it isn’t their place to call out black racism. That does not prove black people are actually privileged over white people in society, or that white people are …

Trans men pass a lot better than trans women. If they take hormones, they probably experience life basically the same way as cis men do. Ironically, in a fully patriarchal society women really would be absolved of all responsibility, and vice versa. But what’s your alternative? Women not be allowed to have sex? As far as I know most feminists don’t support mother-bias, they simply oppose having courts making any default assumption. In other words, instead of being pro-mother, pro-father, or pro-equal share, they start out with no position at all. Given many fathers (and mothers) don’t wish to retain custody in the first place, the “anti-equality” take sounds worse on paper than reality.

I have no idea who you're talking about. I have never claimed feminists do a good job weeding out misandry. They don't. I only claim there is general consensus that feminism is not always pro-equality. At the same time, there is even greater consensus feminism isn't always anti-male. Not all feminists agree with the "prejudice plus power" paradigm. Certainly lesbian terfs aren't incapable of transphobia just because they supposedly hold little power. P+P has always seemed like a shitty excuse to…

There is no "the feminists". Feminists are not a monolith. SOME feminists founded Me Too, and the person most directly responsible, Tarana Burke, said of Jimmy Bennet's story "I’ve said repeatedly that the #metooMVMT is for all of us, including these brave young men who are now coming forward. Sexual violence is about power and privilege. That doesn't change if the perpetrator is your favorite actress, activist or professor of any gender". I can't name one case of Me Too exposing anybody of any …

Depends. As I said, there are a lot of racist and sexist people who convince themselves they are progressive just because they oppose patriarchy and systemic racism. You cannot define an ideology by opposition, or it leads to opposite ideologies (equality and black supremacy) being construed. Me Too did not "help" anybody. It is an idea, not a political Bloc. The IDEAS of Me Too are supportive of Depp, since he is an abuse victim coming out with his story. And again, a lot of feminists convinced…

Feminism has the prefix "fem" in it, and contains several well-accepted branches which are not pro-equality. The word "TERF" used in feminist circles implies a modern acceptance within feminist circles that some feminists do not support equality. From the basis of "First-Wave Feminism" and simple legal equality, the interpretation of feminism has gone many directions. There is no such history for Me Too. The founder explicitly stated that Me Too has no gender, and there is no good faith interpre…

The WHOLE POINT is that the Nazis were as far from socialism as you could get. They NEVER represented socialism. Plenty of feminists misrepresent Me Too as a movement for women only, but that’s precisely it. MISREPRESENT.

Progressivism and hating white men are mutually exclusive. Hell, the original progressive movement was dominated by white men like Roosevelt and Wilson. But just as there are far-right white nationalists and male chauvinists who think anti-racism is about hating white men, there are far-right black nationalists and female chauvinists who also think anti-racism is about hating white men, except they support it.

If you think about it, most types of identity-based online hate aren't treated as badly as the famous ones (racism, misogyny, etc.) You can discriminate people based on height, stupidity, attractiveness, richness or poorness, romantic/sexual success, and just a shit-ton of things people simply don't care about protecting.

Yes, Me Too was used to destroy Depp’s career, just as the Nazis used the name “national socialism” to justify killing all the actual socialists in Germany. Acting in the name of an idea does not change the validity of the idea, unless the idea itself supports those actions. Me Too does not support Cancel Culture, it opposes Cancel Culture by encouraging people to speak out without fear of backlash. The rate of false accusations is about as high for rape as it is for most other crimes. Many others are "unproven" simply because rape is particularly difficult to prove. False accusations are serious, but they are an expected consequence of increased awareness toward any crime. The simple fact is Me Too as an idea is admirable and its positive effects far outweigh its negatives. Men need it more than anyone else, as they are the least likely to report their own rapes.

Crime gains more traction when the victims are women and children or when the perpetrator is a man. Does that make crime prevention a “gendered” concept? No, it is still gender neutral. MeToo has nothing to do with blindly listening to women, and it explicitly opposes silencing male victims. Important things to start out with: The "Patriarchy" has multiple definitions. According to at least one definition (rule by men), patriarchy does exist to some extent, and according to another (men advantaged over women), I'd argue it doesn't. That being said, I will for the purposes of this conversation presuppose the patriarchy exists as the gendered aspects of our social order, which generally see men wield greater amounts of explicit power. The article argues that black people and LGBT+ people gain more respect when they act contrary to their stereotype. Example: Obama is "respectable" because he is an articulated, intelligent speaker rather than a frivolous womanizing criminal. Alternatively, some groups prefer to simply advantage women over men in different ways with some weird affirmative action and then hope everything somehow balances out. The latter is a pretty lazy and immoral strategy
/r/MensRights27/06/22 11:25 PM

The problem here is that people feel like their issues are being dismissed or diminished when you bring up an entirely different issue. “What about men” isn’t an invalid thing to ask, and usually people won’t independently care about men’s issues without being led there by some comparable issue also affecting women, blacks, etc. Its really a conundrum how we are supposed to talk men’s rights without being accused of “whataboutism”. That being said, the feminist was likely upset not because she s…

Well yeah y’all spend more time ripping feminists, a very powerful and popular political bloc, than doing anything productive. I don’t know why you think that’s a good strategy
/r/MensRights27/06/22 04:08 PM

No, because the president does not rule. Does anybody think Joe Biden gets what he wants? You have to factor in the CEOs, billionaires, party mechanisms, officials, all of it. Once men no longer hold hegemonic power, it would no longer be a patriarchy… I do recognize men are more likely to seek power, and even with equality of opportunity the outcome would skew slightly male. Which is fine

I’m guessing you posted this as rage bait rather than an actual position you hold. This is very weird, considering I’d guess about 40% of this subreddit is pro-choice, 20% pro-life and 40% “doesn’t care about women’s rights”. Why not take this to MGTOW or some other reactionary sub?
/r/MensRights26/06/22 05:22 AM

Yes. Well technically you could be “not for or against” and such a person might be neutral
/r/MensRights25/06/22 11:30 PM

No, the reason we don’t make any gains is MRAs have no political allies. The sheeple are programmed not to care about men. The left nominally cares about men but never make us a priority. The right decries the “war on masculinity” but really they view us as worker drones and cannon fodder. The feminists are also nominally pro-equality, but we despise each other. Political alliances are good, actually, and bodily autonomy is important for all anyway.

This is literally eugenics, and not the “I actually do want to prevent genetic disease” type either. Maybe the state should not have a say what willingly goes on in anybody’s body?

“Men cause unwanted pregnancies 99% of the time”? Weird, I don’t think I’ve cause any pregnancies during any of my time. Did you mean “99% of unwanted pregnancies are caused by men”? If so, that would be partially correct. Almost 100% of unwanted pregnancies are cause by both men and women, and usually it’s because birth control fails. I’d like to see the percentage of pregnancies caused by rape

Now, who do you think holds the most hegemonic power in the world, CEOs or Teachers? In the most authoritarian countries, are teachers usually in positions of power, or are they constantly monitored and suppressed? In the most authoritarian countries, are CEOs usually despised and regulated, or do they make corrupt deals with party officials? It’s true, a majority of teachers are women, and teachers are the people who instill social values into their students, which in our society are unfair to …

No, I didn’t say anything about any justice system. I said some illegal violence is morally justified. I did not say these acts should be free from prosecution and conviction. Suppose some number of Jews assassinated the Nazi leadership. I would support those Jews being imprisoned, but also recognize it is worth preventing the holocaust even if some “innocent Nazis” get illegally murdered.

The hypocrisy on the feminist side is ignoring men’s issues while nominally caring about bodily autonomy. Actually, it depends on the verdict that court reaches. Would it be okay for the Jews to “do a terrorism” on democratically elected officials of the national socialist party in Germany before they were able to achieve power? Woah, the Supreme Court only revoked human rights from like a sixth of the population. It’s not like policy can have consequences far more substantial than individual cases of violence, is it? Of course such a decision-maker shouldn’t need to fear for their own safety after revoking the safety of others. That would be, like, really mean!

For every man who has mental problems from an unwanted abortion, probably 5 women have mental problems from an unwanted birth. That number will skyrocket once abortion becomes illegal… but then I guess you don’t care about women. Child care is so expensive you could probably use all that money you saved for some therapy.

You assume all fathers want to be fathers. Whereas before men could try to convince their partners to go one way or another, now they have no choice and must pay child care whether they want to or not. Whereas previously men had some say but not the final say, now men have no say at all. This is a lose for father’s rights.
/r/MensRights24/06/22 09:28 PM

“Accountability” and “responsibility” are what you hold to people who have done something wrong. Having sex is not wrong, no matter how sad you are nobody will fuck you. That’s not how statements work. “The patriarchy exists” is a descriptive statement, not a prescriptive one. One can believe in patriarchy and also support patriarchy. If belief in the patriarchy requires misandry, is such a person simultaneously pro-male and anti-male? Again, wrong. Christians believe ALL people are metaphorically the children of god, and that Jesus is Divine and the literal son of god (exceptions may apply). Feminism is generally understood to be a broad label for a movement advancing women’s rights. Only certain flavors of feminism (incorporating critical theory) visualize patriarchy as a form of class warfare against women. Those same feminists tend to view gender as an arbitrary social construct built on top of ultimately meaningless bimodal sex differences. Women are not supposed to “win” the class war and start oppressing men, we are supposed to end the gender dichotomy and all live as our true…

You overestimate the victim complex. For one, many conservative feminists already believe the patriarchy no longer exists and equality os achieved, and some even want to move backward and return to women to the role of “mothers”. There are Mens Liberation members who don’t deal with the patriarchy because they recognize oppression of men as well. Feminism is not a monolith. There is no universal “feminist recognition” of anything except the elevation of women in some way. I don’t know what kind of evidence you want me to provide, but feminists generally agree that in some areas men are not privileged, like life expectancy. Um, yeah. Children as young as 4 can "express gender identity" and you can tell because the masculine ones will play with trucks while the feminine ones will play with dolls. That's all we mean by "social transitioning," allowing a toddler to act however makes them comfortable. In fact, we shouldn't even have to transition anything because at this age we shouldn't be dictating how kids should act based on their genitalia. That's fucking weird.

That's not the same thing. Infants can't express their gender identity while teenagers can. Such a procedure would never be approved today.

Ukraine isn’t feminist. NOW supported the NCFM in their lawsuit to abolish the all-male military draft, and it was conservatives who recently axed legislation to do just that. You literally just argued against ending male disposability so you could own the libs.

The National Organization for Women (NOW) joined the National Coalition for Men to argue against the constitutionality of the all-male military draft (they somehow failed). If these feminists got their way, yes women would go to war, maybe in non-combat roles. I’m sure many feminists would be just “feminism is when women good men bad imma stay at home and grill” though

The wage gap isn’t a result of intentional discrimination. It’s a bunch of factors, including differences in career choices and working behavior, and a small amount of unconscious bias amounting to about 4%. The real question is, why are “feminine-coded” jobs like parenting and homemaking unpaid while “masculine” jobs like coding paid highly? You could imagine that if “feminine” careers became more lucrative, the wage gap would reverse and favor women. Gender roles just generally suck.

Respond that women have been partially responsible for patriarchy. Through sexual selection, women reward men who are dominant and aggressive with ambitions for power. In that they are both real. “Patriarchy” just means men rule, which is descriptively accurate. The argument is that it doesn’t matter since men occupy the bottom of the pyramid as well as the top, and the bottom is much wider. Being white is easier than being black, just as being right-handed is easier than being left-handed and being male is harder than being female. So yes, privilege is real as well.

It took long enough for TERFs and neo-feminists to get excised from the broader feminist movement, which means it’s getting better. But feminism has a long way to go before it can claim to represent men’s interests in a substantive way. As for women being more oppressed, one only has to compare the life expectancy and life satisfaction to determine who objectively has it better. This isn’t oppression Olympics though, men’s rights and women’s rights are complementary, not antagonistic

Tbh a ton of MRAs have a huge chip on their shoulder because they feel men are the only class whose oppression is explicitly permissible in society. They have a tendency to lash out because of this. I might add that when a man gets assaulted, he’s even less likely to be believed. And even if he is, his masculinity will be attacked for allowing himself to get raped, or he will be accused of liking it, or he will be called gay. Well yeah he basically called the radfems who hated the tweet feminazis.

Given women generally spend more time with kids, I'd expect that to be the case. I'd also be interested to see how much non-physical abuse is done, since this post only lists out deaths from child maltreatment. To be pedantic, the boys who are killed never become men.

I’ve always said feminism is to men’s rights what Democrats are to workers. Anti-feminists would destroy something nominally good for something explicitly bad.

I know history. They said "go to war! It's manly, and you'll be a hero!" and sang songs over your grave after you died fighting for imperialist interests. We supposedly had a patriarchy but only two men were ever really on top, the King and the Pope. Nobody ever cared about men, and destroying feminism would not make things better. You do not want a trad-wife spending all your money.

Ha! Nobody has ever respected men for their sacrifices. You’re just asking to be lied to as they ship you off to Iraq. At least feminists will provide a second source of income instead of spending your money.

You won’t get men’s rights by getting rid of feminism, you’ll get male disposability when traditional conservatism returns

This bitch seems to be part of the universally despised group known as TERFs. Most feminists would hate her too.

Because it’s not just boys’ nature to be violent, we’re teaching them wrong. But when a boy comes home crying, we don’t tell them it’s natural to cry. “Boys will be boys” is just selectively ignoring boys’ behavioral and/or social issues based on misandrist stereotypes. Also, some feminists think it just means “rape = okay”

It's social media, which means all the worst takes bubble up to the top. Do feminazis exist? Yes. Are there a lot of them? Yes. Are they a majority or even a plurality of feminists? No, they just scream the loudest and get signal-boosted by conservatives pretending they represent all of feminism. Just remember 1. Some types of feminism are less bad than others 2. Some twitter wokescolds play "holier than thou," but don't get sucked into the alt-right vortex.

How's the MRM doing right about now? You can either work with or against feminism, and hell will freeze over before people take our side over women's. I have criticisms of feminism's efficacy, but the only way to change that movement's direction is to interact with it. Instead of attacking the label, why not provide an argument against my case?

To be fair, women take forever doing whatever they do in there. They kinda need more restrooms.

The rate of false accusations is between 2-10%, not 15-40%. Perhaps you're thinking of unfounded or unproven claims, which means no evidence. Rapes often are hard to prove.

To be fair, NOW filed an amicus in support of National Coalition for Men's suit to end the all-male military draft.

The only chance you have is by not discounting women's issues, but building on them. For example, when they talk about the wage gap, instead of attempting to refute it directly, talk about the sacrifices in home-work balance men must make in exchange. It's far better to make a case of complimentary/symmetric issues rather than a dialectical struggle.

Not that I'm representative of this forum since I get downvoted every time, but... Yes and no. In some ways, feminism promotes men's rights indirectly, occasionally engages in men's issues, and ultimately attempts to tear down gender norms. In other ways, feminism prioritizes bullshit like video game sexualization which gets in the way of focusing on real issues. Also, the framing of society as patriarchal is, if not inaccurate, at least an obstacle in the way of recognizing men are just as if n…

Yet the Daily Wire's contributors all regularly emphasize the importance of gender roles when creating their anti-sjw content. The fact the main character is a girl in the movie proves nothing; in fact, it's more of a "with guns everybody is equally dead regardless of gender" ploy. If you watched the movie, you'd notice she acts exactly like any male character and might as well be one. In any case, I was referring to traditionalists of the Proud Boy variety, not necessarily Run Hide Fight itself…

It's possible for a country to be economically left but socially right. The USSR was definitely socially right.

This is a clip from "Run Hide Fight" distributed by the Daily Wire, a far-right news site. It shouldn't be surprising that the same traditionalists who force women into the kitchen will send men off to war and die without shedding a tear.

Of course men oppress women. Women also oppress men. Men oppress other men, women oppress other women. That is not misandry, it's simply a fact that social expectations needlessly bind us all. Men's rights, women's rights, and other rights aren't mutually exclusive. If we helped the prison system be less racist, we could also make it less sexist. If we helped reduce domestic violence, we could shine light on male victims. The Men's Movement sucks because it's unwilling to create coalitions, so s…

Wait, you guys actually think a majority of feminists believe this? Holy fuck, there's your problem: You don't actually understand feminism. You see any misandry and think "yup this must be what feminism is," disregarding the huge ideological diversity within the movement. I have gripes with the movement, but it being broadly misandrist is not one of them. Reducing all womens' love to Stockholm Syndrome is obviously a fringe position.

This is literally WGTOW, rather fringe for the feminist movement. There's no way even a large minority of feminists believe this.
