I think we need better people as well

On that note I find it interesting how as a 29yo tall handsome well spoken respectful guy interested in women in their late 20s to early 30s who are on the curvier side, I'm still constantly being ghosted for no particular reason when it seemed like things were going well. It sounds arrogant but I have to wonder sometimes... how many better options does the average 34 year old curvy lady really have?

To be fair I only find about 3-4% of women to be really attractive. It's why I have to cold approach them because I rarely meet them naturally in my life.

Fair enough. But I have a question - if you didn't find the guy attractive if he was respectful about it would you leave feeling heartened that a nice person thought you looked friendly enough to ask out or appalled that someone unattractive thought you would be willing to date them?

I think it's more the case that prior to the early 2010s women didn't have an endless supply of guys (including high quality ones) in the palm of their hand and so any time they were approached by a guy it was a bigger deal and they gave it more serious consideration. Also PUA tactics become neurotic and overly manipulative and there were guys secretly filming approaches to release online and shit so it left a bad taste in women's mouths And a lot of women have taken the most recent feminist wav…

Most women can't speak to what most women appreciate either, they aren't a hivemind. Based on my first hand experience and conversations with female friends most of them do appreciate it if it's done respectfully. If you think approaching women in public - something that has been done all through history and has only become questionable in the last 20 years - is harassment then I'm not sure what to tell you,. If a woman is ready to punch a man in the face for asking if she would like to get coff…

the last part is the key - most women won't give most guys the time of day to begin with especially after they've had encounters with the wrong types of guys I can't blame them for choosing to be safe than sorry but it does mean that some treasure gets thrown away with the trash

On the other hand do you really want a stranger to approach you whilst you're shopping and begin making random small talk while you try to figure out if he wants your number or wants you to join the church of jesus christ of the latter day saints or some MLM scheme? The small talk approach is good in theory but when you're in an environment when there's nothing very noteworthy to talk about it feels forced as well. If that was always an easy option I wouldn't need to go for the direct approach.

That's the thing, women are always being played by guys who seemed wholesome then disappeared as soon as they get what they want, so it really doesn't matter how charming a guy seems, they have to prove that they're not deceptive scum although it's hard when women don't give you the chance.

Striking up a conversation about something in the environment or situation is obviously better than some blunt date proposition and I do want to get a gauge of their personality before I ask them ideally BUT if it were so easy then I wouldn't need to go for the blunt approach. When you have 20 seconds to approach an attractive stranger the mind tends to go blank. Also what sort of conversation should I be making with a stranger at a shopping mall? Ask them what they ate for breakfast? What their…

What's your recommended opening line to a stranger who you know nothing about in an environment with nothing noteworthy when you only have 15 seconds to come up with something?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/24 05:39 AM
1

Give me an opening line that won't then Everyone commenting about how it's better to be conversational are either masters at improv or have never been in a situation where they have 15 seconds to say something to someone they're really attracted to before they never see them again - your mind tends to go blank when you need it to work that's why falling back on some direct line is better than nothing. A 5% chance of being successful is better than 0

How would you like a man to approach you? If you aren't a fan of the direct style then would you prefer them to ask you what you had for breakfast or what the meaning is behind your tattoo? Trying to make small talk in an environment with nothing very noteworthy to talk about ends up being more awkward than just being direct. And if I try that I end up overthinking it and saying nothing so my chances of dating them go from 3% to 0

I'm 6'5 and handsome so I guess I can get away with it according to you, but I'm curious how you would approach a woman if she was walking toward you in a shopping mall and you had 15 seconds before you never saw her again and there was nothing particularly interesting about your environment? At least shooting a shot point blank like that actually gets me talking to her so I'm in with a chance because otherwise I will overthink it until the opportunity has passed by like I did for years.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/24 05:29 AM
1

Well go on then, what would you say to a stranger when you have no more than 20 seconds before you never see them again and there is nothing particularly noteworthy about your environment or the situation to comment on? If the alternative is to walk past without saying anything then the chances of having a date with them go from about 5% to 0%.

Every time you come into contact with a woman is technically an opportunity. I had a date with a girl after she smashed into my car once. Most women aren't going to give you much outward interest because they're trying to play it safe to avoid unwanted attention

Anecdotally I've tried dating women who had been in long term relationships and some who had never had one and there wasn't any noticeable difference in communication skills or anything, the ones who had more relationship experience were just a bit more likely to be insecure and bitter.

It's like the employment catch 22 all over. Those women are sabotaging themselves without even realizing it. Hopefully it only applies to the minority of women.

Fair point, but those who have been in and out of relationships often aren't often put on trial a la those who have been single all their life
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 08:46 AM

You're the one who has categorized singledom as being a major red flag though and I'm not entirely sure why. I mean I am, but it seems like you're throwing the baby out with the bathwater and missing out on some great guys by doing so
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 08:44 AM

Hypothetical question: say you met someone who seemed great but had been flying solo all their life and told you it was because they simply hadn't met anyone they wanted to commit to being with. Would you be more hesitant to pursue something with them than with someone who also seemed nice but had been in 4 or 5 relationships and tried to dodge questions about them or spoke as though they were the irreproachable victim in each of the relationships? Or someone who had been with someone for years …

I guess it makes sense, but they're filtering out a lot of gold with the dross - guys who have self respect and high standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 08:34 AM
1

It's reasonable to interpret it as avoidant from the POV of a somewhat desperate person who either sets a low boar or is willing to make major compromises for the sake of being in a relationship

Is 'I'm content with being single and I haven't met anyone I feel completely compatible with' not a valid answer? Besides some people work lonely jobs and have solitary hobbies and really don't meet many people
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 08:30 AM

That's been my experience as well. Sometimes they don't even try to hide it on dating apps and their bio says something like 'I should be a taurus because I can't stop charging at red flags' or even more bitter 'If you don't cheat on me and abuse me you will already be doing better than my ex'

I'm just dating them because I have always found chubby girls sexier and don't really get turned on by thin/bony or muscular women. But I agree that a lot of hot women are nice and a lot of unattractive ones aren't

Just because it's riskier doesn't mean it isn't easier overall.

I know a lot of guys do but I don't think I'm one of them. I'm 6'5 with a square jaw and muscular and lean physique, also considerably funnier than the average guy I would say. I don't give off any obvious red flags and I'm never pushy or disrespectful no matter how I'm treated so I'm not suer where I'm going wrong. Meanwhile I know some short pudgy deadbeat dudes who have managed to get women wrapped around their pinkies when they don't even treat them well. It feel like a joke sometimes
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/24 06:07 AM

I know I should but meeting people offline really isn't that easy when you work long hours and your hobbies are solitary and your friends dont go out much anymore. I've started approaching women out during the day and I recently got a date that way but it isn't ideal
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/24 06:03 AM

really? colored women seem to do fine where I'm from, I've had dates with them and it's not even really a factor in whether I find them hot since I find women sexy of all shades and sizes. I'm sure there are a lot of racists but you wouldn't want to waste time with them anyway
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/24 06:02 AM

In what way am I dissing them? The ones who ghost me after we've had dates deserve to be criticized because that just indicates a lack of basic respect. Me calling a girl chubby and determining that logically she gets less attention than a typical hot girl doesn't mean they have low standards of course, but if I didn't say that people would accuse me of only trying to date women out of my league.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/24 05:58 AM

yeah I've volunteered at multiple places and while it wasn't a waste of time, I didn't meet anyone I was actually interested in. It's a really inefficient approach. I don't know why people say it as if you're likely to meet someone pretty quickly... I mean maybe if you're attracted to anyone with two x chromosomes it is but otherwise the reason I have started approaching women in public is because I realized that was by far my best shot of actually meeting someone I found attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 08:19 AM

It's still so vague as to be basically useless. Everyone knows that besides from dating apps or the rare case of some internet romance you need to go out to meet people
