I'm not sure where to start. You scheduled sex, bad idea. She is having "coffee" with a "friend" for the "entire evening," WTF? She is inconsiderate towards you, yet you still refer to her as a "great woman," why? I'd strongly suggest reading (or re-reading) the sidebar material over at the main sub r/theredpill. Actually, that is a perfect way to spend this new found time and forget about her abd focus on something productive, start reading man.

"Enough to look forward to," compared to what? You only have 3 choices: celibacy, plates, or an LTR. Unless you are an asexual person, celibacy is not an option worth considering. The choice is thus between spinning plates and an LTR. Spinning plates involves more effort, between finding them, establishing rapport, demonstrating value, escalating, passing shit tests, and dealing with the constant barrage of BS that unconditioned western women will unleash upon you. In my estimation, an LTR is th…

No, TRP is not about maximizing happiness, TRP is about accepting reality. Hedonism is about maximizing happiness. Now, we will quickly run into the questions of how to define happiness, what the difference is between pleasure, happiness, and fulfillment, etc. Suffice it to say that TRP is simply not about maximizing happiness, it is about accepting reality for what it is, taking off the rose colored glasses, nothing more nothing less.

I'm not surprised by your therapist's reaction, what you said sounds borderline to me and to someone unfamiliar with TRP would almost certainly sound extremely negative and self defeating, as opposed to realistic and empowering. Similarly, monk mode can be applied either way. Summon the fortitude to interpret what you said yourself as the latter. You are a man, be one. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, keep lifting, keep reading, keep bettering yourself. Your life will improve soon, m…

In addition to the sound advice offered by u/dandar4600 and u/Sepean, you should consider taking charge more, being the leader and surprising her (nothing in my experience gets women wet faster than surprises). Plan and book a night out or a weekend away, that should at least end the dry spell, then follow up on dandar and sepean's advice.

I didn't assume anything, you literally said that you enjoy smoking. Hence my response, you think you enjoy it, I did too, but it's not genuine enjoyment, it's an illusion, the addiction is playing a trick on your mind. I would not have bothered to explain that if you hadn't literally said that you enjoy smoking. Since you mentioned a feeling of superiority, that has actually been one of the hardest parts of quitting. Smoking was part of my identity. I was a bad ass, a fire breather, one of the …

No dude, it's not at all hypocritical, I quit. It would only be hypocritical if I advised others against it while I continued to smoke myself. Since I quit, I can recommend others to do the same without an iota of hypocrisy. I didn't lecture at all on how bad cigarettes are, I didn't even mention any of the ill effects, I merely explained how the "enjoyment" is an illusion and a rationalization of what is purely an addiction. I know it's unpleasant to hear, it was unpleasant for me every time so…

I "enjoyed" smoking for almost 10 years. The "enjoyment" is nothing more than a rationalization of the addiction. Unlike marijuana, alcohol, and caffeine, nicotine has no mood altering effect. The only effect nicotine has is to relieve the withdrawl symptoms that developed since you put out your previous cigarette. An addicted smoker is thus tricked into believing that the cigarette has a positive effect, that it makes him feel better when in fact all it does is reduce the negative effect that t…

Think about it rationally. Does it contribute to or detract from your SMV and long term happiness? The answer should be obvious. I quit my almost 10 year long 20 cigarette a day addication abojt two months ago and will never go back. I bought a high end e-cigarette, which I fill with zero-nicotine e-fluid. It helped enormously to be able to continue the habit of puffing on something while I overcame the physical nicotine addiction and accompanying withdrawl symptoms. Now the e-cigarette is gradu…

If you were half as intelligent as you claim to be you would have realized by now that you are repeatedly being ridiculed and publically humiliated. No, you're mistaken buddy. I didn't miss a thing. Consent is consent. SJWs can attempt to change the definition all they want, I reject their definition as ridiculous. My comment was an explanation of why her post is ridiculous, because consent IS action based, it IS NOT feeling based, regardless of her or anyone's assertion to the contrary, it IS what it IS (not what SJWs claim or want it to be). Don't be so quick to contradict people, many won't be as civil as I in setting the record straight.

What distinction can you draw between requiring more work than anyone is willing to invest and being hopeless? She likely did play a role in the betafication of her husband, but that is not her mess to undo, it is his. When you learn to drive they tell you that the right of way should only be given, never taken. Conversely, the dominant position in a relationship can never be given, it can only be taken. Yes, she played a role in taking it from him, but she cannot give it back, he must take it b…

The most hillariously ridiculuous part is this "Do not watch this video if your motives would upset me, my desires are unclear to you, or my nuances are indecipherable. ... If you watch this video without my consent, then I hope you reflect on your reasons for objectifying me and participating in my rape." In other words, she only consents to you watching the video if you agree with her, if you disagree with her and watch her video then you have participated in her rape. That has to be one of th…

I wouldn't call it a masculine approach, I'd call it a superior approach, an approach from a position of power and superiority. In my view RP theory inherently assumes that men are superior to women (i.e. more powerful than women every sense of the word power). While I believe this to be true on average, it does not imply that all men are superior to all women. There are many pitiful men and some admirable women in this world. Thus, not every relationship will involve an alpha male leader, some …

This is a very difficult question for MRP. We are entirely focussed on how men should interact with women, not vice versa. That being said, your post seems genuine so I'll offer my thoughts. Your husband is a bit of a conundrum, in another post you state that he has slept with over 150 women, which a beta could never accomplish, indicating that he might be alpha. However, his complete lack of leadership or goals precludes him from being considered alpha. If he had asked MRP for advise, I would h…

A cuckold is a MAN with an adulterous woman. The term cuckold does not refer to the woman, it refers to the man. When you make a mistake like that it sheds doubt on your expertise and calls the validity of your entire post into question, which is unfortunate because you do make some good points.

I think you answered your own question already, but let me reaffirm. Do not do things for your wife because she asks you. If you do so, she is leading and you are following. You are the leader of the family, you figure out what needs to be done, you divide the manly and feminine tasks, you inform her of the tasks you expect her to do and you take care of the tasks you have decided to do yourself. Do not brag to her about the things you have taken care of, you are not a child looking for an attab…

If there is no "hawt" guy, there is no opportunity. It's not complicated, if she has an opportunity (implicitly, with a higher SMV guy) she will take it, period. In the eternal words of the venerable Mr. Bown "these hoes ain't loyal." The only path to relationship security is keeping your SMV up.

Thanks for the sage advise. Refocussing the question from "might she cheat" to "how would I react" is an excellent approach. While the answer to the former is an unsettling "yes, it's ALWAYS a possibility," the answer to the latter is a reassuring "dump her and have a great life regardless." Thanks again.

Thank you very much for your response, it is quite troubling to hear though. Your wife is well raised, treats you well, and has good values. You are (presumably) an attractive alpha male and a good provider. Yet, even she is inclined to cheat on you the moment the opportunity arises. It's great that she told you, but how did you react? How do you deal with this going forward? Would you accept her attending a tradeshow again? It would appear that even an alpha needs to mate guard, which I thought…

Hypocrisy may be simply defined as claiming one thing, but doing something else. Setting different standards for different people is not hypocrisy, it is a double standard. Double standards are not the bad thing that feminists have convinced us they are. We would harshly judge an adult for pissing their pants in the middle of a store, leaving a puddle of urine on the floor. We would not apply the same standard to a child, or a developmentally disavled person, or an elderly person. That is a doub…

Now shoo before you start to annoy me.

As others have pointed out, the most likely cause is a decline in the woman's SMV. One thiught I'd like to add to the conversation is about SMV ratings and sexual attraction. While SMV ratings are supposed to be objective, the link between a given SMV and the level of sexual attraction is not static. While I may be highly attracted (i.e. very much want to have sex with) a woman who I see on the street and would rate as a 6, I likely would not feel the same level of attraction for her after I've …

Amen. One caveat worth mentioning in regard to the sunk cost fallacy is that you should focus on the future not the past, NOR THE PRESENT. Just because your relationship sucks does not necessarily mean you should cut and run. Evaluate whether you current partner could become the person you want her to be and consider how much effort would be involved in achieving that. Compare that against the effort involved in finding and conditioning another woman into being the type of partner you want. If t…

Are leaders born or made? While you can assert as strongly as you like either way, the answer is unknown and likely somewhere in the middle. Stating your opinion assertively does not make it fact. I could explain why you are wrong, but I will give you the same assertive but unsupported response you gave me, a simple no. For the benefit of the community, u/oldredder is wrong. I just checked out your website. Firstly, you are basing your analysis on The Office? Really? Secondly, Kevin is ridiculed less than Dwight? Again, really? Thirdly, despite whatever ridicule he endures, Dwight fucks Angela. Who does Kevin fuck? You say "of course" but your post could easily be interpreted as deterring guys who just discovered TRP from embarking on the journey to become alpha. Of course people perceived as "faking it" will be reviled, however men on the journey to alphadom need not be perceived as faking it. To the contrary, the intoduction of alpha behaviors by a previously beta guy is often well received, interpreted as showing a different side of the guy or showing genuine change in the guy, not perceived as fake.

Interesting analogy, seems plausible, but I doubt it. The Uncanny Valley principle has been studied and proven. The suggestion that the same appies to women's perception of alpha and beta men has not been studied let alone proven. To the contrary, many fieldreports indicate that women immediately react positively to newly initiated alpha behavior by previously beta guys (some reports on MRP discuss a transition period, but many more posts report surprisingly positive results at the first applica…

Your view of women is changing from idealized to realistic, which is good, but has awakened this insecurity in you. The only way to overcome this insecurity is to better yourself. When you better yourself, you no longer need to fear her leaving for someone better because there is nobody better, you are the man, you are the Chad she wants to be with and will be "loyal" to (not loyal in the tradional sense due to conscience, but loyal in behavior simply because she has no better options). Firstly, it is both, shit tests and red flags are not mutually exclusive. Secondly, the distinction that some commenters are drawing between shit tests and disrespectful behavior does not exists. Shit test are by their nature disrespectful. If she respected you she wouldn't shit test you. The shit test is meant to determine if you are worthy of her respect. Shit tests are a necessary evil at the beginning of every relationship, but should become less frequent as you pass them and she develops re…

Your concern is legitimate. Tell him you are aware of her, don't have an issue with him seeing other women (since that's what you agreed to and you're still fine with that), but that you have an issue with risking your health. When you consider the method via which you are receiving this communication, you should realize that we are still squarely within the confines of nature's parameters. This! This makes my blood boil. This is what is wrong with modern feminism. Ensuring equal opportunity is fair, just, ethical, etc. Ensuring equal outcome is unfair, unjust, unethical, discriminatory, etc. Ensuring equal outcome is akin to communism, akin to the indefensible affirmative action policies some colleges have attempted to implement. While TRP is amoral, I believe a key distinguishing factor between Alphas and Betas is that Alphas have integrity. Cheating (and the secrecy involved) is the opposite of having integrity. Helping someone else cheat is tantamount to cheating yourself. It's like driving the getaway car in a robbery, you may not have committed the robbery, but you assisted with it. Claiming that "if I hadn't done it, someone else would have," is not a viable defense against the accessory charge.

You need a career. It need not be a 9-5, but it needs to be more than driving for Uber. What you are earning now is as much as you will ever earn driving for uber, there is no growth. Either find yourself other side businesses or find a career, just driving for uber is not a sustainable option.

I have a moral issue with being judgmental, so I was really rooting for you, hoping your post would be insightful, wise, and convincing. Unfortunately, your post boils down to "tell her how she makes you feel." More foolish advice has seldom been offered in this forum. I disagree. A woman's number is more than just an indicator of her level of depravity. Firstly, it is also an indicator of how she views herself and sex. A high number indicates either low self-esteem (many men are deemed high value enough to open her legs for) or a flippant attitude towards sex (a low bar for the value a man needs to convey to be worthy of opening her legs for), neither of which bode well for fidelity in an LTR. Secondly, a woman's number indicates her ability to pair bond. A h…

Your analogy about littering is flawed. Men do no ride the CC, men are the CC. Riding the CC is like taking a payday loan (a short term, very high interest loan for people with poor credit). Learn to read before you write. Firstly, nothing was said about Charlie Sheen, my comment pertained to the character he portrayed. Secondly, the character was not suggested as an example of an accomplished hedonist. To the contrary, I implied that his (the character's, not Sheen's) hedonistic ways led to an unfulfilling life. It is clearly an anecdotal example from a fictional television show, but an example with which many people are familiar.

A legitimate definition? No, you provided the encyclopedia entry. My point is precisely that the textbook definition is divorced from the reality of how hedonism is practiced. Here is a challenge, name one accomplished hedonist, one person who self-identified as a hedonist whose life amounted to something. Firstly, people are not able to accurately predict the net pleasure they will derive from future outcomes, which precludes the type of analysis you suggest. This is a poorly argued and ill considered perspective. Exclusively doing what makes you happy (aka a life dedicated to hedonism) will leave you unfulfilled and depressed. The reasons for this are buried in volumes of philosophical works and psychological studies, but the image of Charlie Sheen's character in Two and a Half men springs to mind. Independently wealthy womanizer teeters on the brink of depression until his brother and son bring a modicum of meaning to his life.

Being an American who lived in Amsterdam from age 6 to 17 and attended Vossius, I can answer this question definitively. There is very little difference between American and Dutch women. The similarity between Dutch and American women stems from the similarity between American and Western European culture. Having lived in Hong Kong for 6 months, …

Of course it is his personal choice. It is also your personal choice whether you want to commit suicide or not. The fact that it is a personal choice does not imply that each choice is equally valid. This is not a matter of opinion or preference (a "chocolate versus vanilla" issue). Inarguably, the basic purpose of life is to survive and reproduce. Congratulations on your realizations and thank you for sharing this excellent summary of core TRP insights. I am troubled however by your decision never to have children. It is my opinion that reproduction is the most important goal in life. Life is little more than a genetic competition among all living things. To the contrary, my LTR (who in practice agrees with TRP principles, but in discussion still argues against TRP principles) apparently found this palatable. 1: do not be afraid to walk away from both of them. If you want to keep your LTR, she has you by the balls and you will quickly lose frame, lose control of the situation, and probably lose both girls. 2: get annoyed. The best way to fight fire is with fire. "They were innocent messages, I really don't see what the problem is and I don't appreciate being accused like this, I could have expected some BS like this from [plate], but not from you [LTR]. I'm done discussing this, I know I did nothing …

She should seek therapy, not resort to medication. The side effect of almost all anti-anxiety medication is a loss of sex drive (which in some cases does not even return after ceasing the medication). The loss of sex drive will kill your relationship. It happened to me, don't let it happen to you. On a side note, modern medicine does not yet fully understand brain chemistry. Pysychiatric medications today are not developed deliberately, instead the psychological effects of various medications ar…

What a whiny rant. You feel that you got a raw deal and attempt to blame that on her rather than take responsibility for it yourself. However, you didn't get a raw deal, you got the best deal your whiny ass could get. You chose to become exclusive with her, she didn't force you, and it was likely to your benefit. If you hadn't, she would be out riding the carousel while you sat at home catching oneitis, that's why you became exclusive with her. Now you're mad, not because you've come to realize …

No, TRP cannot apply to homosexuals of either gender, because the evolutionary psychology forces associated with reproduction (which underlie all of TRP theory) simply do not apply to homosexuals.

Is it really that had to understand? I'd liken BP/RP to religion/atheism. Here's a cartoon illustrating my point: http://i.imgur.com/T5qBoyh.jpg

Hey hey hey, let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. Being "progressive" on gender issues tends to be extremely beta, but being progressive on other issues need not be beta. Personally, I was disappointed in him for this segment, but believe John Stuart is on the right side of the issues most of the time, and I'm as red as can be.

No, she fell apart, she cried and begged and refused to leave my house. I called her parents to pick her up and her dad finally carried her out kicking and screaming. They called me that evening to ask what they should do because she was threatening self harm. I told them it was no longer my responsibility, they are her parents, they are responsible for her well being. They had her involuntarily committed. She was released after about a month. It's been almost two years now and she still tries t…

Run, NOW! I wasted 5 years of my life with exactly that type of girl, solid 9, well educated, ambitious, fun, but with lingering psychological issues. In addition to bouts of depression she also suffered bouts of anxiety. It ebbed and flowed, I thought she was making progress, but it was really 2 steps forward and 2 (not 1 but 2) steps back. I was not familiar with RPT at the time, but had been a natural alpha throughout high school and college. Over the course of our relationship (which started…

You're obviously intelligent and seem to have a basic grasp of TRP, but there are a few errors/falsehoods in your post worth addressing. Firstly, your intelligence does have SMV but only indirectly through your earning potential and ability to master game. Merely being intelligent does not attract women, however earning good money, being successful in life, and being a good conversationalist are all functions of intelligence and do attract women. Secondly, rejection is healthy, even in large dos…

I disagree, I think you can support him without any clue as to what's going on. He's a man, he will deal with his own problems, you need not concern yourself with the substance of his problems, your only concern is the fact that he has a problem, let him vent, empathize, get him a cold beer, give him a nice back rub, and reinforce your confidence in his ability to overcome this situation. Whatever you do, do not give him the impression that you are siding with his boss against him, he will not r…

Archwinger is 100% right. If she was his she wouldn't have put herself in that situation. If she was his she would not have attended without him. If she was his she would have controlled her drinking. If she was his she would act accordingly for fear of being dumped.

Excellent summary of RPT, what we advocate and what we do not. That being said, to an extent "influencing," "manipulating," and "controlling" are synonyms with different connotations. Influence is viewed favorably, while manipulation and control are viewed negatively, but each is altering another's behavior according to your preferences. To those with a Kantian view of ethics, this could be seen as using another person as a means to your ends (which Kant rejects as unethical, instead he asserts …

Excellent. 100% agreed. Thank you for the concise distillation. One addition, being amused at anger works with men as well as women. Laughing at their anger makes them angrier to the point that they mess up, escalate to a physical level, which gives you justification to beat them down in self defense. Perhaps besides the point of your post, but worth noting, always laugh at anger, both with women and men.

The sweetest revenge is a life well lived. Next him the same way you would a plate who steps seriously out of line. Seeking revenge is more trouble than it's worth.

This is NOT how we treat fellow men asking for help. Sure, crush competing men, engage in all the psychological warfare you want, but not with those seeking help. Kicking a dog while he's down does not make you a bigger man, it only reveals your insecurity and weakness.

Search the TRP sub for "read(ing)," a fellow TRPr recently posted a good reading list with some advanced material including one of my all time favorites, Robert Greene's "48 Laws of Power."

PS If you couldnt infer from my response, I am arguably one of those guys. I'm at the high end of the SMV scale and my LTR is hot but a little chubby. I started brinig her to the gym to rectify that and she is making progress. Also, she treats me like a king. So you can keep your fridgid HB10, I'll stick with my unicorn-ish 7 going on 8.

It's anecdotal evidence, your few obseevations do not constitute a trend that requires explanation. There are couples with an ugly guy and a hot girl, a hot guy and an ugly girl, an ugly guy and girl, or a hot guy and girl. Aside from lacking statistical significance, your observations are limited to their appearance, you do not know how they treat each other. Those "uggos" may give the best blowjob the guy has ever had and may do so every single night after brining the guy a beer and massaging …

"Married and dating but there's always room for one more in the stable ;) Honestly, work has been busy recently, let's get a drink on [pick a day]" My reasoning is A&A on the married or dating question, ignore the interest question. Don't get coffee, a drink is better for a date. Don't ask what or when, take the lead, suggest something.

He didn't make it up. You said yourself that he seems stressed out, obviously he feels the way he says he feel about the situation. In this type of situation, the facts don't matter, it doesn't matter whether your husband is justified in feeling the way he does, do not question the legitimacy of his feelings. Regardless of your interactions with and perceptions of his boss, accept his perception of her. Commiserate, empathize, and sympathize with him, be the supportive wife that he expects you t…
