Perfect summary. Yep. Reddit was unkind to that man. I was damn proud.

I agree this is absolutely a situation to ignore/block/delete. But I don't think this is what people are talking about when they say ghosting is wrong. It's more about once you've been on several dates with someone and you're just not feeling it, send them a text to let them know you're not interested in dating anymore. Once you've had sex with someone or you're in a relationship, it's about communicating you've changed your mind about continuing. I could just be reading different things, but I …

This is infuriating. I'm fine with people who are confident in their tastes and opinions even if they don't have formal training in a subject. But! Offering up those opinions unprompted Likening oneself to a college professor as if it were his job to "educate" the creative Trying to manipulate the creative into thinking they asked for the opinion Insisting it's his right to criticize *directly to the creator* their work if he sees it Insisting that criticism is complimentary Refusing to apologiz…

Congratulations on finding a partner who makes you truly happy. :-) Couple things here: I completely understand how nerve-wracking it can be to meet a boyfriend's parents for the first time. When there are concerns about race/culture thrown in there, that just adds a huge level of OMG to the mix. Please remember, you're not there to manage THEIR feelings or to mediate your boyfriend's relationship with them because your biracial background somehow makes you "special" in a way a white woman isn't…

The men who say that they don't understand what women want . . . Aren't men who see women as individuals, who may all want different things. Put low effort into communicating in relationships, such that if something worked for them with a past partner they default to doing that with new partners. Aren't really serious about dating or a relationship with a particular partner in the first place or they wouldn't throw out such trite nonsense to that woman. Project their own desires onto fantasy ver…

I'm not offended by the question. The asking of it in the first place suggests something negative about the questioner. As for domestic responsibilities . . . Do I really have to list these out? Like, come on. Use some common sense here.

This is the kind of question that someone who lacks deep relationships with just *people* would ask. Lives are lived better and our emotional needs are better met when we surround ourselves with people who treat us well or who enhance our lives in some way. Do you get that kind of fulfillment by spending time with people who are mean or rude to you? People who lie to you or steal from you? People who never remember your birthday or who you can't ask for help or advice when you need it? No. Those…
