I'm tempted to agree, but over 2/3 of my family identify as Muslims, and even though Trump himself is harmless, his demagoguery and ideological radicality are a major threat to both myself and my loved ones.

I do not personally consider myself an economic Marxist, but I assume that it simply means that you want to reduce or eliminate the wealth gap between the poor and the wealthy.

By the sounds of it, you'd be more of a Democratic Socialist if you support some parts of socialism but don't agree with Marx. If you do believe Marx was correct in his social philosophy then you would be a Marxist. I would suggest reading some of his books (most of which are free online) if you're interested.

Sorry for the typo. From the way I see it, Stalinism and Classic Marxism are two distinct ideologies. But, I may not be as qualified to say so as you, sir or madam, so I guess take my opinions with a grain of salt?

I used to identify as a social democrat, and still respect the ideology to a great extent (Bernie supporter btw) but after reading The Communist Manifesto and Wage Labour and Capitalism I decided to prescribe to his ideology.

I agree 100%. When I say I'm a Marxist, I mean that in regards to what Marx initially said along with Engels, not what Lenin and Stalin molested it into.
