I consider myself left wing, always have. Strongly believe in equal rights, liberalism. Just so happens that men have less rights and are more disadvantaged by state legislature nowadays.

I'm left, but not Marxist. I'm more like what is being called "classical liberal" except I think people have to bake that damned cake if someone orders it, and I think universal basic income is coming whether anyone likes it or not.

I'm Left wing, always have been. But I'm tolerant of differnces unless they clearly are an excuse to just hurt or shove others aside. Like feminism. I also don't take to bullshit well. I don't mind disagreeing but when an ideology just openly rejects science, facts and studies as a whole because of an imaginary patriarchy...

The funny thing is that my embracing of logic, truth and fairness means I've had endless people who claim to be Left themselves label me a Right winger. No surprise that these people were not Left really, they just believed in feminism....

Edit. Wouldn't consider myself Marxist though.

I'm here. I'm not a Marxist, but I'm absolutely a lefty.

I was just watching the Federal NDP debate here in Canada (for those who are not familiar with the NDP it's basically a party of Social Democracts, Democratic Socialists, and Reform Liberals, Populists, with possibly a smatter of Red Tories ).

I analazed the debate and would be leaders from both a universal Canadian perspective and an MRA perspective and a leftwing perspective.

Nikki Ashton is an intersectional feminist, which means she's at the bottom of the list, although she has some wonderful qualities, and would be a major improvement for men and Canadians in general over the current feminist, as I think she would in practice focus more on universal social programs then the massive bias budget Trudeau produced.

Her main flaw is that she is too loving of platititudes, but she is improving and she is too easily influenced by the doper elements of social activism, she doesn't realize that social activists when they show poor judgement should not be pandered too, as shown by BLM sabotaging her over a fucking Beyonce quote. I do like her emphasis on increasing corporate taxes increases.

Peter Julian slipped down to my third Choice, but he makes a lot of solid arguments. His big positions are affordable housing and free university tuition, but of which is good for people no matter their gender and background (side note there are not many private universities in Canada as there are in the US, it's more public universities, although he may face challenges as education is provincial jurisdiction and the provinces guard their turf zealously).

Charlie Angus, all of the Candidates are like able, but Charlie Angus is the most likable, former Punk Rocker, but experienced politician and community advocate, despite not being good at French, he moved up to my second choice both because of his personality, but also because he seems like he be the least likely to be manipulated into doing something stupid based on PC politics and peer pressure and the most likely to remember you have still reach other to the majority, not just minorities to win, basic math. His main weakness is his French may not be up to par, and solid bilingualism is a prequiste for the job of Prime Minister in Canada in practice if not in law, and he doesn't seem to support Basic Income, which my top pick Guy Caron does.

Now my top choice is Guy Caron. What he brings to the table are 1) Basic Income which is one of the best things on the table for men and people in general. This can not be overstated. If designed to compliment the social safety net instead of completely replacing it, it will be good for domestic violence victims including and especially hetro male/lesbian/gay/trans victims for whom the current system of shelters and supporters are not well designed, it will given them the resources and flexible time to move out away from their abuser.

It's also good for students because it allows them to focus more energy on their studies, and it helps even the playing field when it comes to affording university and other forms of education where women have countless scholarships and men do not, and it will help also help with living expenses which free tuition will not.

It will also help to alleviate poverty, reduce job loss stress, help reduce the negative elements of global trade and automation, encourage entrupuership by giving people more flexibility and security, increase the money in poor communities and first nation reserves, boost the economy, personally empower individuals irriguardless of race, gender, sex, religion and so on. And that is the tip of the iceberg.

A key point is that Guy Caron's Basic Income does not threaten Universal Healthcare and other specialized needs or services.

2) He's from Quebec and a Francophone and that will help in Quebec and to a lesser extent in Ontario, both seat rich provinces.

3) He was the shadow critic for Atlantic Canada, so hopefully he will have some insights for rebuilding the NDP in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island (P.E.I), Newfoundland. Not seat rich, but a lot of seats for it's relative population density.

4) He has lived in both rural and urban areas, both in Francophone Quebec and Angelophone Multicultural Toronto, so he has a diverse set of experiences within the Canadian context.

5) He is a trained and experienced ecominist, which has both a benefit in skill set, and in convincing people to trust him with the economy.

TBH I'm not surprised.

I've read before that Marxists disagree with Critical Theory and that forms the basis for feminism and the rest of the SocJus nonsense.

Personally, I'm on the left... slightly. AFAIK I'm a social democrat (maybe a social liberal) FWIW.

I'm a left winger and I do see the infiltration of the right in the MRM. I actually think the right has been infiltrating the left for some time too, hence the train wreck we are witnessing.

Look at the UK, the first actual left wing leader (Corbyn) being savaged from within (spearheaded by feminists) as well as from the mainstream media. Makes you think.

So let's talk about periods and the number of fortune 500 companies run by elves.

Most of those challenging the extremes of feminism are from the ideological centre-right, such as Hoff Sommers, Reason, the IWF, etc.

There are a few on the left such as Warren Farrell and Dean Esmay.

In my opinion, MR issues cross ideological lines, and thus MR should align itself with either left or right on a purely temporary basis, much like the Euro third parties.

I am also generally left wing. I support many progressive causes such as environmentalism, labor rights, gun control and universal health care.

I don't believe that conservatives (at least in the US, don't know about other countries) really care for men's rights. I think they are just using it as an oppportunistic issue to win favor among voters who might be disgruntled with the liberals.

I'm a former liberal (classical liberal) who turned centrist over the course of the Obama administration. I started leaning libertarian over the last few years as well. If a reasonable human being represented the Democratic party, I would join right back up. Until then, I won't be registering democrat again.

There's a reason many MRA's are either Conservative or Independent. Democrats are the ones mostly fucking men/boys over with these bs laws and policies. Most notably the rape laws.

We had a recent example of this. Georgia is considering passing due process protection legislation for rape cases at colleges. They are one of the few states to do so.

EVERY no vote (58 in total) on that bill came from a GD Democrat. Not a single Republican voted no and only 2 Democrats voted yes.

I don't know what's wrong with Democrats, I really don't. Aren't they supposed to be the due process defenders? They were for illegals and terrorists. Legal American men on college campus tho, meh.

Earlier I had on principle when it came to voting: no racists, no feminists, and no communists. But now that I've decided to stop voting it really doesn't matter any more.
