Similar story: in Duluth, MN, in 1920, a female student at the University of Minnesota in Duluth falsely accused three black men, workers with a visiting circus, of rape. They were detained, but were broken out of their cell by a lynch mob and hanged right in downtown Duluth. There's a memorial for them at the corner where it happened, and is the first memorial in the US for lynched black men. Ironically it's located not far from the home of the Duluth Model.

I'd say they really got it right with "Homer Badman", an episode where Homer is falsely accused of sexual assault and is the target of an ensuing mob and smear campaign. I the end though, when the accuser (who's a 3rd wave feminist) finds out Homer didn't assault her, she forgives him and everyone forgets what happened and Homer is vindicated. Why, because the programs are built in? My PC with Sony Movie Studio and Audacity does the job just fine. To be fair, it is nice how Apples come with the fundamental applications, but they're incompatible with so many programs and games, and the laptops are really just internet machines (all notebook type laptops are). I'd say it's a little of both. I think a good way to describe the brain is like a computer, and the gender is the operating system. Everything else, programs, documents, files and whatnot, come later, but the OS limits what will work. We're born with gender, but through life we hone who we are. Or at least that's how I see it.

That's kind of the whole point of the comic, though. It plays on the "angel girl, devil boy" tropes, which aren't necessarily sexist, but illustrate how kids generally tend to be. The father in the comic, Daryl, isn't a dumb male though. I wouldn't say he's smart necessarily (he's sort of average), but all that matters is that he's a successful adult who loves his family.

Aren't there also risks with working in the warehouse? Heavy lifting, machinery, etc.? Plus, the warehouse isn't staffed only by men, but is rather mostly male, implying that the minority is female. For the checkout, the minority is males. The male workers aren't being paid more than the female workers; rather, the warehouse workers are being paid more than the clerks and stockers. If the sentences are concurrent, they can be taken at the same time instead of one after another. So she essentially just got one life sentence, if I understand correctly. I had to look up how consecutive life sentences work, and what I found is that life with parole means parole is possible every X years (like in the Shawshank Redemption). But I can't make heads or tails of how non-parole consecutive life sentences work.
