Thank you. At this point I prefer divorce as I don't trust her anymore after taking the money out of the bank.

Is it usually the best to be the first one to initiate proceedings?

She makes about 55k, while I am on for and only have about 21k coming in. Her future standard of living will be much better than mine.

Now I am really confused. My mom died in 2002, and our home was purchased with that money. I have no proof of that now as it was 22 years ago. If inherited income is not counted and a joint asset then what can I do?

Thank you. I have very little income so I will read up on what you suggested.

Thank you for your kind words and your response. When I asked her why she took the money out, she replied that she was "advised to". So I am confident that she has seen an attorney.

We have been arguing on and off for a while now. Yes we own a home. Her taking the money out of the bank was totally unexpected though. I am not sure if she has filed any papers yet. Still, with all of our problems, I didn't think this would happen after 34 years of marriage.

Thank you so much. I can't do much today because it's Saturday, but I will get on it Monday.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
