I posted last week and need some opinions. My wife went last Saturday and took over half of our money out of the bank. She would not tell me why, just that she was "advised" to. A few days later she said she had not retained an attorney, but would still not elaborate on who she was getting advice from, just that it was "people". She then got some paper and proceeded to divide our possessions. She did give me everything I asked for. I have seen on this sub that it is advantageous to file for divorce first. Is that true? If I do go ahead and file, should I ask for the moon and stars or try to be as fair as possible to get the process over quickly. Obviously, I don't have a lot of money so I am worried that if things are too contentious that my legal bills will be a huge problem. For context, we have been married over 34 years and have one son but he is an adult. I am really glad you guys are here. Please give me your thoughts!
