I'd take her back to court asap no reason any parent should have sole custody unless the other parent is in prison for 20 years

Never does not work after divorce is on the table either you spend months or years kissing ass and it ends in divorce anyways or she just pretends until she's ready to fleece you in divorce court, it's over change the locks and file for divorce

At that age its really easy, parks, zoos get into a weekend activity like gymnastics or something even for boys at 3 it's super fun, my weekdays are mostly park or play outside dinner and bath and bed, during the weekend stay up a little later Friday do the park maybe go shopping for treats or snacks Saturday morning breakfast play outside then gymnastics class then lunch at the park then nap dinner bed, Sunday wake up play then go to the zoo maybe get a treat for lunch nap dinner bed. To try to work on an agreement, while siphoning your money dig your heels in on 50/50 custody and 50/50 money and tell your lawyer to request a trial date

I've heard good things and I've heard horror stories, my ex evidently thought GAL would be good for her pursuit to take my child away, they vehemently fought for one despite us having 50/50 temp orders but totally backfired when I met the GAL I said oh this is gonna be a piece of cake the way he held himself and spoke I KNEW my ex would gonna fight with him and sure as shit at one point he refused to talk to her because they got into a screaming match in mediation then her lawyer started yelling…

Don't ever settle for less then 50/50 I did that thinking of that'll make her happy she can have the extra 3-4 days per month and leave me alone nope once I agreed to that she said nah ain't signing it now I want 90%, took it to the judge and wouldn't budge off 50/50 and got it
/r/Divorce_Men10/08/25 11:40 PM

I would have filed first but my lawyer said let her do it, gonna cost her more money

That group is insane, there's this one girl who got divorced a year and half ago and she's already moved in with another guy complaining he hasn't proposed yet and mad about it, like he's horrible person for not wanting to get married to a woman who got divorced a year ago.
/r/Divorce_Men03/08/25 05:42 PM

And also when you go back to court to modify you could also end up getting railed with exes attorney fees as well I think our agreement says if one party initiates modification and loses they cover attorney fees.

Don't be stupid, don't ever agree to anything less then 50/50, 20 miles isn't far, I think our agreement which was boiler plate type stuff says 25 miles and we have equal time What you could do is make the agreement after x amount of years schedule exchanges to XYZ or IF you move back into said town you get more time, but just flat out settling because of high cost of living in that town is stupid. Especially if CS changes drastically due to time spent with children. You'll regret your decision …

Court takes FOREVER, unless someone is motivated to get it going and since she's going to be paying you she has no reason to hurry don't settle or give up.money because you're in a hurry if you need to litigate don't be afraid to take it to the judge

You couldn't be more wrong this isn't 1980, it'll be 50/50 assets and 50/50 custody unless OP gives it up or they're in Texas and even then could very well be 50/50 custody
/r/Divorce_Men26/07/25 01:25 AM

Why would you move out good Lord, has custody even been settled yet? Don't even bother worrying about money until that's figured out might be nothing left of that's not agreeable

Good on you the only way they learn is when you draw a hard line in the sand and don't back down, show her you're willing to go the distance this time and you'll be done with these games for awhile.

Throwing you money for the mortgage will start as rent when she is your girlfriend then it'll be come let's pay the mortgage from our joint account once we're married then let's remortgage the place to fix this or that in both our names now she is a co owner and will get paid out 50% equity upon divorce.

They are, and I did. I am a poor man, chase and capital one funded my custody battle spent almost 30k, system is definitely broken and biased towards women however if you're willing to light $100s on fire and fight you will get your time.

I speak from being in a court over 20 times in the past two years and seen multiple different cases, men who fight are getting 50/50, and I'm in a mom state that does not have 50/50 law. I'm sure there are plenty of crappy old judges who want to rule a certain antiqued way but from my experience that's not the reality today. I wouldn't accept anything less then 50/50 unless it was ruled that way at the end of an actual trial.

Women are very herd minded, I remember growing up everyone in my neighborhood was married then one wife on the block got divorced next thing everyone on the block were divorcing including my parents except the super religious polish family who are still happily married to this day, their daughter is still a smoke show. Toxic friends and the worst are the mother in laws, mine was the worst person imaginable the biggest phony kissed my ass so much until I married her daughter and then it became he…

No, but our marriage counselor was really good we actually went even before we married just to "work" on us as she said and I even agreed to it, I loved it. I had a neutral third party who would hear us both out, and she would rarely side with my ex because my ex was and is mentally ill. After the session she would refuse to be speak or be around me for almost 24 hours claiming I made up stories to make her look bad. Eventually she was too "busy" with our child to do it anymore, even tho I did a…

You could not be more wrong, I put a half assed selfie of me with my child blurred out on a dating site and I'm bald decent shape mid 30s, with barely any info in the profile but I'm single dad blah blah looking for a friend. And within hours I had single moms crawling all over my profile, messaging me first BUT they're toxic as fuck, stay away from those single moms.

He seems to be unraveling a bit, my guess is he got really really bad advice when signing that agreement, didn't make any sense to me why anyone would ever sign a separation agreement that doesn't favor yourself you don't have to sign one, you can take that shit to court and let judges decide what's right, been there done that, judge said you both work full time no reason either of you should have the child more then the other and ordered 50/50 temp my ex moved into her parents and we fought it …

Did you go to trial?
/r/Divorce_Men15/07/25 12:09 AM

You've been divorcing for three years and you're doing day on day off? That's insane. Court process is lengthy but simple but be time to find a better lawyer. File mediation pretrial trial that's all you need, if you're doing day on day off for this long then you'll get your time I'd tell your lawyer to ask for trial date

I'm confused if you haven't been served how do you know she will be allowed to kick you out of the house that's not even yours or hers? First things first do not move out especially if that ain't her house I'd tell your mom to start eviction process on her not you or your children, do you have a lease? My advice never leave the house ever, I'd push for both of you leaving because it isn't your house and not hers either

Been there done that told myself 20-30 times throughout the whole ordeal just give it up and move on she's crazy she's never going to settle just give in, then one day I woke up and said no, every call from lawyer every email just said no, said no for a year would never email or call my lawyer is wait till they call me then keep calls 5 minutes long and say no call me when it's 50/50. Then one day I got email she settled at 50/50 it's over. Just say no and hang up, they can't make any decisions …

Who cares man, focus on your kids, is she still living elsewhere from the marital residence?
/r/Divorce_Men07/07/25 03:03 AM

It's more rare that mediation is successful then fails lol, you'll have 150 opportunities to settle before trial, my guess is you'll be fine. Keep your nose clean and ignore her focus on your kids

GAL can def be biased, but also can see the truth they're usually pretty good, my GAL saw that my ex was a liar crazy person almost immediately

In this day and age if she doesn't have dirt on him it's just a matter of whose willing to light more 100 dollar bills on fire more because you'll get the 50/50
/r/Divorce_Men03/07/25 06:32 PM

The only ammunition the courts have is threats and fears, they threatened me for two years GALs, mediators all threatened me verbally nothing ever in writing dug my heels in and got my 50/50 don't be bullied and don't be a coward
/r/Divorce_Men03/07/25 06:30 PM

Id let her know the only way you agree to less then 50/50 is at the end of a trial and stick to that you'll get your 50/50
/r/Divorce_Men03/07/25 06:28 PM

Here's the main thing my lawyer told me every time I asked IF she could do that, he said anyone can try to do anything regardless if it's right or wrong but the law the only thing to stop them is not being able to pay for the fight or the end result of a trial. Keep that in mind

Lol who cares? If you want a divorce meet with a lawyer and find out the process in your area, either way meet with a lawyer she has threatened and clearly she has done some research. Both of you have no idea about divorce process I'm sure. More than likely what the lawyer tells you on the first meeting is what's going to happen, my lawyer told me there's two ways this goes either you and her come to an agreement that's 50/50 money and kids or you fight in court for two years and spend shit ton …

/r/Divorce_Men19/06/25 09:44 PM

Don't pay for any mediation it's a scam, I spent 6k mediating for 8 hours had everything ironed out, only for the ex to back out and 6k out the window but I got a better deal in court then I was giving her in mediation

Bingo 100% the playbook, Zoom hearing while cheaper and easier with taking off work, they let it DRAG out, if my ex had to take off work every bs hearing she would have settled LONG ago

Mine did the same shit she refused to sit in the room with me because she was "scared" mediator told her don't waste our time with games otherwise you can leave, then she came in the room and played more games mediator told her again I warned you don't play games or you can leave, it seemed EVERYONE in the process my ex had arguments with and they all hated her. She tried the same shit with the judge and GAL, who both called her a liar in open court, it was glorious. GAL goes mom has these fanta…

I've been in divorce process for two years first custody battle and now financials and I got exactly what I wanted in custody battle and she filed first, I don't have much assets or anything really all money we got from house sale was spent for lawyers. So far zero advantage for her filing first the only difference was where it was filed, I was in the process of filing in the burbs where we live but she filed downtown which is 100% zoom hearings outside of trials, which let her lawyer s drag thi…

Why would you be willing to accept whatever lol
/r/Divorce_Men08/03/25 06:57 PM

/r/Divorce_Men23/02/25 08:33 PM

I read that as wife of 6 kids, thank God lol, just hire a lawyer and they'll take care of it all, when no kids are involved and you're not a millionaire it's not that complicated stop talking to her and move on with your life
/r/Divorce_Men23/02/25 08:29 PM

You'd be surprised 50/50 is still a bargaining chip in MANY bue states like IL NY NJ, my divorce in IL been fighting over 50/50 for two years and I've had 50/50 temp orders for the whole two years and courts just let her keep playing games
/r/Divorce_Men23/02/25 08:24 PM

A LOT of guys in here would call me stupid for this BUT as long as you're locking up 50/50 I'd do it, you can fall back on going after her retirement if she plays games, she makes a ton more then you, divorce court is a war of attrition in most places she can spend you into a hole with her income fighting you on parenting time, parenting time is number one money hole, GALs, custody evaluators RTO POs if a person wants to make life difficult they can and will IF they have the money. If my ex didn…

Here's what I would do, keep playing the fool with her like nothing has changed and get your child into daycare explain to her she needs her freedom she'll be happier working full time again etc etc once you get her back in the work force and child set up at daycare file for divorce immediately and get your ducks in a row. BUT even if you can't do that I wouldn't worry CA is BAD for money wise for men In divorce but excellent for children in divorce unless your in jail and literally can't do 50/…

The in laws will do that, draw a line in the sand with them, first time they played that game in laws showed up with three pickup trucks 3 guys my ex and her sister, started to unload the whole house onto trucks I quietly called the police and police yelled at them made them return everything and she was forced to move out.

You need to stay and find better hours for your days and find a daycare
/r/Divorce_Men13/01/25 12:43 PM
2

I wouldn't worry too much about it, she's pissed and furious and wants to hurt you, ignore her crap if you don't have kids get the fuck away from her
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/25 06:48 PM
2

If they took accountability you wouldn't be divorcing lol
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/25 04:43 PM

Do not give in no reason to
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/25 04:41 PM

Mediation is just game playing they'll be 1000 more opportunities to settle before "trial", you're gonna tell her, the mediator, her lawyer the judge your family your lawyer and the homeless guy who is outside Starbucks, that you will see this through to the judge decision at trial before settling for less then 50/50 then you're gonna do that. And, I guarantee you will get it unless you've been arrested for DV or something similar or work overnights, she will crack and settle, don't be afraid
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/25 04:41 PM
1

They do not care, where's mom where's dad, oh dad lives somewhere else and mom lives at home with kids done EOW , next case on the docket please
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/25 04:26 PM
5

There's a lot of men who get the royal shaft in family court BUT these stories of men drawing a line in the sand and saying see you in trial and WINNING are becoming very very common, don't ever stop fighting the world ha changed and is changing drastically
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/25 04:17 PM
2

Don't be stupid l, unless you want to be a every other weekend dad keep your ass in that house.
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/25 04:09 PM
1

If you're finishing divorce quickly and amicable and you're getting 50/50 time with your child, be happy could be so much worse.
/r/Divorce_Men31/12/24 12:23 PM
9

LOL
/r/Divorce_Men30/12/24 09:49 PM
1

Family court is weird some red states are 50/50 hard, some aren't and some blue states are 50/50 hard and some arent
/r/Divorce_Men17/12/24 01:58 AM
2

This is why I haven't said a word at my work just pretend is isn't happening, and I've received two promotions since she filed, probably will never tell anyone
/r/Divorce_Men10/12/24 03:31 AM
1

Mediation is just a psych out for the real thing and don't ever do private mediation I made that mistake 5k and had full agreement and ex walked away at the last second
/r/Divorce_Men09/12/24 10:51 PM
3

Any penny you get more then 50/50 equity on that house sale is a win for you that 75k is gone. The real fight is kids always unless you're millionaire
/r/Divorce_Men05/12/24 10:12 PM
4

Sounds exactly like my situation the ex refuses to settle even tho judge gave us 50/50 temp and next court date is in February, her lawyers backed off those games yours does because she can't pay them anymore just waiting till she settles now or we go to trial, just sit back and watch yourself be cautious and you're good to go you have majority parenting time in this schedule let her play games you're going to win.
/r/Divorce_Men05/12/24 06:29 PM
7

BINGO that's exactly what happened, what's funny is she'll end up with less the mediated deal was a sweet deal for her.
/r/Divorce_Men04/12/24 03:07 AM
7

They love doing that spent 5k at a mediator only for her to say nah after it was agreed upon and written up
/r/Divorce_Men04/12/24 02:45 AM
3

Awesome man! So awesome seeing success stories on here
/r/Divorce_Men04/12/24 01:57 AM
3

It won't get worse, maybe I'm in the short term but long term always better, my advice wait until the child starts kindergarten then file and you can lock him into that school district
/r/Divorce_Men04/12/24 01:06 AM
7

Mine was mean to everyone lol
/r/Divorce_Men04/12/24 12:04 AM
5

My Man, you have posted a ton here and I know you're scared and nervous but your wife filed temp orders, she intends to remove you from your children's life and your home and fleece you. People who file temp orders don't intend on settling anything anytime soon or playing nice. Giving up 50/50 this early on will guarantee you're a 4 overnights a month dad. And you picking up your kids everyday and she picks them up later is a very dumb idea custody/parenting time is determined by overnights, she…
/r/Divorce_Men03/12/24 11:50 PM
1

Firstly what do you mean she won't let you see the kids? She's not in charge of seeing your kids who cares if she cheated on you, she won't let you see your children
/r/Divorce_Men03/12/24 07:03 PM
0

Sounds like he doesn't and didn't want to be a father and mom did, or he's got a nice young thing occupying his mind
/r/Divorce_Men01/12/24 09:37 PM
1

How old are they now?
/r/Divorce_Men01/12/24 08:37 PM
5

Eh prob won't matter anyways tbh courts don't care about nonsense like that unless she admitted to really crazy stuff or you had videos of her doing crazy stuff it won't matter
/r/Divorce_Men29/11/24 02:36 PM
2

You're young and marriage is fresh and you don't have the stress of a kid marriage right now for you should be amazing if it isn't pull the plug before it gets worse and much more expensive
/r/Divorce_Men28/11/24 11:39 PM
9

Therapist, and I have leaned on my parents my mom especially during this process she loves talking about drama involving the ex.
/r/Divorce_Men28/11/24 11:37 PM
2

I got screwed but that was my own fault I was a good little boy and waited to file to see if court would resolve it in the meantime judge said oh mom filed already and took child deduction ok dad gets it next year
/r/Divorce_Men28/11/24 03:57 PM
1

I was asked by a GAL my living situation it's a common question judge never asked nor cared but it's part of GAL interview
/r/Divorce_Men27/11/24 10:12 PM
3

Eh could be worse but never get confused about how simple a divorce is even if your married for 6 months both broke no retirements no nothing, an unreasonable spiteful person can drag it out anytime they want. The thing id be worried about is them trying to saddle you with a CS payment when the kid isn't yours arguing that it is now because of the marriage and situation.
/r/Divorce_Men27/11/24 10:11 PM
3

My advice, don't worry about coparenting or any other nonsense right now pretend she shits unicorns to get those papers signed and filed
/r/Divorce_Men27/11/24 04:57 PM
3

Firstly how much time do you have with your child?
/r/Divorce_Men27/11/24 02:21 PM
4

Another tip imo is totally shut off all notifications on OFW while your child is with you, can't stress this enough too many of my Sundays are ruined from her crazy shit
/r/Divorce_Men27/11/24 12:09 PM
3

Is it really that hard out there being single dad, few months away from trying dating scene
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/24 08:04 PM
1

I have the opposite problem stbx says oh 50/50 now is fine we'll switch to 3/4 in a year when she's 5, that's the stalemate.
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/24 05:21 PM
2

Man can't wait for my post like this feel like it's been so long I've been dealing with this Good stuff tho, glad fighting the good fight worked out for you I'm deep in the trenches now, what would you say was the turning point of the battle where it was obvious she was gonna lose.
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/24 02:58 AM
3

This process even if both parties are motivated to settle and somewhat amicable takes FOREVER lawyers drag this shit out especially this time of the year if you don't get anything done by Halloween nothing gonna get done by Valentine's day honestly
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/24 02:42 AM
1

My STBX filed first and hasn't benefited her at all, her lawyer soaked her for 7k in the first month after filing first not sure what they did for 7k, been at it for 18 months no end in sight
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/24 02:40 AM
2

I think mine was like 14 days, could be this week or maybe next because of holiday.
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/24 02:34 AM
2

Are you paying for her lawyer? Or temp alimony?
/r/Divorce_Men25/11/24 10:17 PM
1

You don't know how good this is cal lawyer yesterday file papers and you're minted
/r/Divorce_Men25/11/24 04:45 PM
3

I never told her how much it cost she just assumed and didn't know much about jewelry, she was telling people it was 8 grand and no one really knows anything about jewelry I paid $1800, and it went on sale for $1700 and I got $100 refund LOL She can keep it prob get $150 bucks if I were to sell it
/r/Divorce_Men24/11/24 09:29 PM
1

Florida is very 50/50 right now, don't waste your time and money fighting for custody in Florida, it'll be 50/50 custody and 50/50 assets you'll pay CS and alimony due to income disparity, get in and get out of court as soon as possible.
/r/Divorce_Men24/11/24 05:34 PM
1

Sounds like 99% divorces involving kids, all saber rattling and threats and mind games. Keep doing what you're doing don't argue with her and record record record. Don't be intimidated by her games, and lawyer games. Remember if they have no dirt on you, and I mean dirt like police reports DCF CPS stuff, it'll be 50/50 don't be scared, what you need to do is make it clear to her you will see this all the way through until the end of a trial. Family court is mostly playing very expensive extreme …
/r/Divorce_Men24/11/24 05:32 PM
4

If you've been through courts already you know how strong status quo is, so unless you drove drunk with a loaded handgun with kids in the car id ignore her nonsense and keep truckin, if she could she would and she hasn't so she won't.
/r/Divorce_Men24/11/24 05:26 PM

Strip club Chinese food alcohol pick two
/r/Divorce_Men21/11/24 01:29 AM

Holidays are just a date, why not celebrate those dates the week prior get your family together make a big ass turkey and pretend it's Thanksgiving who cares, same for Christmas
/r/Divorce_Men21/11/24 01:22 AM
1

You're gonna have to show financials multiple times even if it's amicable, ive had to show financials like three times and I'm broke and make 60k a year lol
/r/Divorce_Men21/11/24 01:08 AM
5

Don't be stupid keep your kids at your home, do not let her pretend like you're a EOW dad once the status quo is established you'll never get your kids back
/r/Divorce_Men17/11/24 07:46 PM
2

I'm prob in denial but I don't think my lawyer is a scumbag, I mean hes not going to lose any sleep over me, but he could def be much more of a scumbag if he wanted to be, NOW the stbx lawyers they're scumbags, never trust lawyers who don't make you pay retainers who say oh you can pay as you go then slap you with HUGE bills, they drained her bad but that's her fault for fighting over every inch scorched earth
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/24 11:23 PM
1

Which was me, met with Lawyers and had the convo then she talks me out of it then months by and she goes oh btw I filed for divorce you'll be served soon
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/24 11:19 PM
2

Meet with a lawyer and find out IF you need to do anything but a parenting plan, you might not even have to "divorce" and split assets as far as the house being in her name and you paying if you aren't "married" that house is hers and those are gifts
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/24 11:16 PM
1

She's nice, my stbx took ALL of the money was 5k only tho so no big deal
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/24 07:01 PM
7

Stick to your guns, and NEVER give up been fighting in court over parenting time for 18 months, I secured 50/50 temp early on in the process and she's just dragging it out Make it clear you will litigate for your 50% no matter what
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/24 12:29 PM
4

This is easy sell the house move on, sounds like you're getting off easy
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/24 12:25 PM
2

Unless he made her the co owner of this business that K1 won't go to her it'll go to her husband that it won't matter to you. Did you do some detective work? Check online for your state LLC S Corps lookups etc and see if she's listed with the company that public knowledge.
/r/Divorce_Men14/11/24 12:35 PM
3

Bingo my judge is very very liberal Democrat in one of the most Democrat cities in the country, and he does not play around with mom and her lawyers antics, extremely fair and unbiased and does what's right for the child. Infact everyone I've run into in this divorce has been fair so far.
/r/Divorce_Men13/11/24 12:35 AM
1

She's not entitled to your SSI that is not an asset that needs to be split, talk to a lawyer you might owe he alimony but nothing to do with SSI.
/r/Divorce_Men12/11/24 01:04 AM
4

Chances are she will be scorched earth regardless it's more rare that they aren't
/r/Divorce_Men11/11/24 11:21 PM
12

Looking back she always picks weak and easily manipulated men. Love bombs then eventually devalued after you've been exhausted from giving 110% for years. I followed her lead to "make her happy." I made sacrifices for her and the family to have a better life. She did whatever she wanted selfishly. Sad to say. But I'm learning my lesson." This hits home so hard, wow
/r/Divorce_Men10/11/24 03:27 PM
3

Take care of your children, boot that weirdo out of your house, YOU should be taking care of the children if she is leaving.
/r/Divorce_Men05/11/24 01:16 PM
2

DO NOT LEAVE
/r/Divorce_Men05/11/24 01:13 PM

Woman lawyer probably too, those women know exactly what to say to soak their female clients my ex spent double what I did too
/r/Divorce_Men03/11/24 11:36 PM
4

It's bad and good when they make the divorce so ugly never makes you regret anything but can get expensive
/r/Divorce_Men03/11/24 08:36 PM
1

In situation it went mediation child lawyer assigned another mediation and now trial set
/r/Divorce_Men03/11/24 03:00 PM

/r/Divorce_Men03/11/24 12:12 AM

Sounds so familiar convince a man to change then he does and it's like they look down upon you for giving In to them, crazy crazy women
/r/Divorce_Men03/11/24 12:11 AM
5

My stbx has changed her mind with written agreements like 2 times so far lol who cares, back out take it to the judge sounds like you're getting shafted
/r/Divorce_Men02/11/24 07:51 PM
3

The only person who should be giving you less then 50/50 time with your child should be the judge don't let them bully you
/r/Divorce_Men02/11/24 01:23 AM
10

Tell her you'll see her in trial, I wouldn't worry about her nonsense in mediation tell her 50/50 custody No CS and No ailmony, DO NOT ACCEPT less then 50/50 it's 2024 unless you're a convicted felon or over the road trucker you can get 50/50 through the court
/r/Divorce_Men02/11/24 01:18 AM
4

Dude that side chick is gonna be long gone in a year you fucked up, but regardless the option is number two, you are in the affair fog, and the fog is heavy. Be a man, and choose your child trust me, you're future self is gonna hate you for this decision
/r/Divorce_Men31/10/24 12:10 PM
3

They like to play games also rattle your cage, try and gain the upper hand, the short two months we spent living under the same roof after divorce was filed was very strange, lots of this stuff id always say the same thing remember were divorced now, well let the judge decide everything if you don't want to compromise
/r/Divorce_Men23/10/24 10:35 AM
2

Hell no the only regret I have is being nice in the beginning of the divorce, maybe if I went on the offensive this wouldn't be still dragging out after almost two years .
/r/Divorce_Men20/10/24 01:48 AM
3

Don't panic has she filed? Check county websites to see
/r/Divorce_Men19/10/24 09:04 PM
6

Bingo 160%
/r/Divorce_Men19/10/24 08:21 PM
1

Don't be alone with her, your daughter being 12 helps she can help or hurt you, record everything don't talk to her in person anymore and for the love of God get a lawyer yesterday
/r/Divorce_Men19/10/24 08:20 PM
5

DUDE you don't ask anything you don't let her get a damn lawyer, the thing you do and don't do the next few months will have a massive impact on your life for at least the next 6 years. Mom can go adios child stays
/r/Divorce_Men19/10/24 08:16 PM
3

First things first why are you letting her leave with your child? Or is the child over 18?
/r/Divorce_Men19/10/24 08:15 PM
8

Yes never again I'll date again eventually but never doing that again
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/24 01:37 AM

My lawyer told me, you could have just paid a surrogate would be cheaper lol
/r/Divorce_Men13/10/24 12:06 PM
6

Disgusting what they do what is wrong with these people
/r/Divorce_Men13/10/24 12:53 AM
3

Good and bad then there's no status quo established, Illinois is not great for men but not bad either, GAL is a glorified mediator with teeth they're going to try to negotiate a settlement either way, I've had 50/50 temp orders in IL for 16 months while ex and her crazy Lawyers drag it out but judge sides with 50/50 Everytime and GAL just plays mediator my advice for you is don't be afraid, and don't settle for less then 50/50, AND if GAL does write a report which they don't rarely do, they need…
/r/Divorce_Men11/10/24 11:01 PM
1

What is your temporary parenting time?
/r/Divorce_Men11/10/24 10:36 PM
1

What do you have now is more important?
/r/Divorce_Men11/10/24 10:26 PM
6

That sounds like a really good deal to me unless I'm missing something that's like 15% of your income for ten years
/r/Divorce_Men11/10/24 10:19 PM
5

Join the team, my lawyer says "your ex must have told them a good story, they think you shit gold"
/r/Divorce_Men02/10/24 11:02 PM
15

Oh man good for you, decent length marriage and she makes big bucks, you got yourself a decent paycheck for the next 5-7 years
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/24 08:39 PM
2

My divorce was all nice and amicable until I started saying uhhh NO I'll see you in court 18 months later we're still fighting
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/24 05:25 PM
2

If you are decided you want a divorce ASAP is always the best thing, even if you have a super amicable zero disagreement divorce which never happens it's still gonna take you 6-8 months to finalize it, have a few money disagreements a year easily, start fighting over custody tack on another year.
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/24 05:24 PM
7

Do not give her a penny without a judge forcing you to, all of that stuff people think like oh I need to do this to look good in court they do not care. Giving money during divorce process without a CO forcing you to only hurts you never helps you , it sounds like your child is living with our full time anyways so why on earth would you give her money
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/24 05:19 PM
3

That arrest will help you file for divorce get it over with you should have filed and been done with her when she was arrested
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/24 05:13 PM
6

Hold it right there why are you looking for an apartment? You're not playing that house
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/24 11:44 PM
2

Tell me about me mine was successful I can do anything woman who I was using for money and makes 75k meanwhile I was working part time making 25k and splitting bills evenly she filed for divorce and all of a sudden she makes 1500 a month and can't afford to live anywhere but her mother's house lol just lies
/r/Divorce_Men21/09/24 01:24 AM
22

Always the victim that's how they work
/r/Divorce_Men20/09/24 09:41 PM
1

Bingo, my stbx would rather pay 30k to lawyer then split it with me crazy
/r/Divorce_Men18/09/24 01:43 AM
2

Yea I don't get it, they even fight with GAL in court
/r/Divorce_Men18/09/24 01:20 AM
2

I'm at daley center lol judge is very fair tho pro 50/50 parenting time so far at least, Illinois is a bad state tho for divorce they just let it drag and drag no end in sight. Opposing counsel is AWFUL they fight every single inch and constantly getting yelled at.
/r/Divorce_Men18/09/24 12:59 AM
5

Why are you talking to her, assume everything is gonna be used against you and don't talk to her.
/r/Divorce_Men16/09/24 11:40 AM
1

True but I think that mindset is caused by the average American refusing to make it work and filing for divorce on a whim.
/r/Divorce_Men16/09/24 12:04 AM
3

As much of a monster my stbx is she told me she filed and told them to serve me at home and not my new job, she could have been a bitch and served me in front of coworkers then again I think she told me because she wanted me to hit the floor and beg, I stopped off a ladder and told her OH THANK YOU I'm so happy let's be friends and raise this beautiful girl together. She did not like the response and it's been a battle ever since.
/r/Divorce_Men16/09/24 12:02 AM
3

Knock it off and be a man, any married woman regardless of your behavior or lack of effort shouldn't be putting some randoms dick in her, don't let her gaslight into believe you caused her to be unfaithful
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/24 11:58 PM
2

So glad my lawyer never answered the phone in the beginning I would call him daily and he'd only answer when something important was happening, now I have called him like twice in 3 months I just talked to paralegal and waiting for hearings or conferences
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/24 11:55 PM
2

Dude I'm broke and no assets make 60k per year and I'm 15k in the hole already fighting for my child
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/24 11:52 PM
1

Man thankfully mine was only $3500 but that's been reuped 4 times already along with mediators and GALs getting their taste
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/24 11:51 PM
2

I know it's bullshit, my stbx tried that game recently and judge and GAL saw through that shit immediately
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/24 11:49 PM
9

Whats hilarious is stbx always complained and acted like she was hot shit because she made more then me because I chose to work part time to be a SAHD and her family would accuse me of wanting her money when she makes like 50k a year like she's a millionaire, first full time job I got after she filed for divorce I make more then her and she has a master's lol
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/24 01:18 PM
2

It depends weve has a GAL for 6 months and I've only paid him initial retainer of $1500 but that's just because he doesn't believe stbx allegations and refuses to take her side and she's furious with him.
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/24 02:48 AM
3

A good judge and GAL can see through that BS, mine just tried that after 18 months in divorce court fighting and no mention of any DV or abuse I'm now an abuser etc and the judge and GAL shut that shit down real quick
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/24 02:46 AM
2

It's a lot of money but 3.5 years is not awful considering marriage was over ten years
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/24 02:43 AM
7

15k, and 16 months so far, but she has spent at least 35k. But she's losing and needs to settle but she refuses hopefully she'll wake up now that she has spent all of her money and is broke
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/24 02:42 AM
2

In the words of Peter, death would be a great adventure, it's not that you win or lose it's that you fight till the end for what's right.
/r/Divorce_Men12/09/24 06:57 PM

Why are you going to her parties?!?
/r/Divorce_Men01/09/24 10:13 PM

Have some self respect man
/r/Divorce_Men01/09/24 12:14 PM
4

Exactly what happened to me, right when I located my balls and stood up for myself our fights when from a 3 to a 9 and our divorce has been absolute scorched earth, every inch is a war with her.
/r/Divorce_Men01/09/24 11:33 AM
2

No kids and only in your 30s pay her off and move it along you never gotta see this succubus again
/r/Divorce_Men29/08/24 01:45 AM
6

Dude sack up and get a lawyer yesterday and file
/r/Divorce_Men28/08/24 10:36 PM

How are you still paying the first one alimony?
/r/Divorce_Men17/08/24 12:47 PM
13

Invite your parents over EVERYDAY that's what I did and within a month she was gone
/r/Divorce_Men16/08/24 10:30 PM
3

You need a new lawyer file emergency order and you'll get your time
/r/Divorce_Men16/08/24 10:15 PM
1

That's not gonna be your problem she'll pay you out for equity and refinance and that's all she wrote
/r/Divorce_Men11/08/24 05:16 PM
1

If she's willing to agree to 50/50 take it and move on mine won't even agree to it going to trial
/r/Divorce_Men11/08/24 05:15 PM
15

Only read your title, and I have your answer she went to a lawyer and the lawyer didn't paint the rosy rosy picture she wanted so she's waiting now, time to file and get it over with
/r/Divorce_Men11/08/24 05:03 PM
1

I just had my mom come over EVERYDAY, she was gone a month after filing lol
/r/Divorce_Men11/08/24 11:36 AM
1

My stbx is getting cleaned out, she hired an associate who was supposed to "handle" it, now the bigger partner has to get involved so now every hearing she has the "associate" AND the bigger lawyer. I'm paying my guy $350 per hour and she's paying $750 per hour.
/r/Divorce_Men10/08/24 10:51 PM
2

That group tends to disappear when they're told they need to be witnesses in custody trial and they bounce lol
/r/Divorce_Men10/08/24 10:45 PM
1

I'm shocked she didn't just try and spend you into a hole that's what minea doing
/r/Divorce_Men10/08/24 10:45 PM
1

How do you not know you had joint custody?!?
/r/Divorce_Men07/08/24 10:32 PM
1

What happened did you get it?
/r/Divorce_Men07/08/24 10:31 PM
2

If your wife is filing for 100% custody she's gonna fight you regardless you need to set schedule YESTERDAY it can only help you, you can't be afraid, fear has no place here. You're gonna have 100 chances to avoid trial, trust me. Setting a precedent and showing you can do 50/50 is how you get 50/50.
/r/Divorce_Men07/08/24 10:09 PM
1

You're very lucky with CA as long as you keep your nose clean you will get 50/50 parenting time, if you make substantially more you'll pay CS, but at least you'll get 50/50. No major assets and father friendly state shouldn't be too bad, but even when it's an easy one all it takes is one unreasonable angry person to rack up lawyer bills. Invite ignore ignore her don't respond grey rock keep everything in text now. Do not give her any opportunity to accuse you of anything.
/r/Divorce_Men07/08/24 02:50 AM
2

Me too luckily my state doesn't call it that anymore.
/r/Divorce_Men14/07/24 06:36 PM
2

I don't recognize the person I used to be prior to this, things that would wind me up or annoy me in the past are like bugs on a windshield now, I don't get rattled anymore, I don't break anymore she cannot illicit responses from me anymore the more crazier she gets the stronger I become.
/r/Divorce_Men14/07/24 03:35 PM
1

CS is unavoidable in most situations but fuck alimony don't pay her a dime
/r/Divorce_Men14/07/24 03:29 PM
2

It's all horseshit, honestly couples counseling is a sham. She's telling people what you said because she's mad and not really using this counseling to help matters. How old are kids how long have you been married and what state, and what are your incomes.
/r/Divorce_Men14/07/24 03:26 PM
4

Don't leave your house don't do trial separation, go meet with a lawyer and discuss your options and don't let her know you did this. Leaving your house mid trial separation is a good opportunity for her to file against you saying you left the house and get you stuck with a shit temp custody order that is gonna follow you to trial.
/r/Divorce_Men14/07/24 03:24 PM
2

Who cares what she would concede to, what state are you in And lowering child support by agreement is a fool errand, your lawyer should know better she can take you right back a month after it's finalized and get the full amount
/r/Divorce_Men10/07/24 11:53 AM
6

Why would you tell her anything
/r/Divorce_Men10/07/24 02:16 AM
1

An extra 4 days a month sounds like it's not a lot but it is that's like 65-35 nowhere near 50/50
/r/Divorce_Men10/07/24 02:13 AM
2

Nah I've only gone to court like 3 times in a year, the first couple appearances are usually nonsense most places it's all zoom now. I've been in process for 13 months and I've yet to step foot inside the court house always on zoom Her lawyer will draft a response usually like fuck you fuck you I want everything and you're gonna give it to me blah blah
/r/Divorce_Men10/07/24 02:10 AM
2

House will be sold if neither of you can buy it and come to an agreement, assets will be split 50/50, whoever makes more will pay alimony there's a calculator online for that and child support. At 14 spending how ugly things are between you guys it could be two years before it's over and then your child is 17. If she won't agree to 50/50 custody, make a deal to get out from child support payment and move it along by the time it's over she'll be almost 18 and can do whatever they want.
/r/Divorce_Men08/07/24 11:37 AM
2

IL is a no fault state it absolutely does not matter, student loan questions would be a question for an attorney. If the debt was acquired during the marriage then it's marital debt usually.
/r/Divorce_Men08/07/24 11:32 AM
2

Most of that you'll have to give regardless, like my wife's attorneys played games for months about her discovery and in the end submitted everything, just ended up costing my wife more and more money instead of sending your financials once she sent bits and pieces like 4 times. Why pay lawyer to gather and submit the same thing 4 times to just play games.
/r/Divorce_Men08/07/24 11:30 AM
7

Yea don't bother, push for 50/50. And push for a quick trial if she won't settle.
/r/Divorce_Men08/07/24 12:08 AM
11

Don't bother honestly unless she's a crackhead in prison you're throwing money out the window
/r/Divorce_Men08/07/24 12:06 AM
3

He needs to get a lawyer asap
/r/Divorce_Men07/07/24 10:59 PM
8

I can't say this enough with this process MOVE the process along, mediation pretrial trial date anything before trial date is set is just lawyers milking people, whether it's financial or custody move it along. DO NOT GET REMARRIED FUCK THE GF she wants to leave let her go
/r/Divorce_Men07/07/24 10:15 PM
3

Yes that's scary because lately my 3 year old comes to me and says I need to make mom happy.
/r/Divorce_Men02/07/24 10:52 PM
1

Yea that's 2255 I like the sound of that always having them a set day helps with planning
/r/Divorce_Men02/07/24 10:49 PM
2

You're gonna need to spend money I'm sorry but time and money over the next year or more are just gonna be wasted sadly especially if she's asking for that forget about it take it to court. Women get either very reasonable when the guy in a robes starts making judgments or get even crazier and you go to trial. I'm in the latter unfortunately
/r/Divorce_Men02/07/24 10:49 PM
1

I do 223 with a three year old, I think 2255 would be better in my opinion because the week days are set and I can plan around those days my ex is already fucking with me with activity days refusing to take her to swim lessons we've been doing, were fighting in court anyways but the GAL likes 2255.
/r/Divorce_Men02/07/24 10:09 PM
4

Why would Anyone do that
/r/Divorce_Men02/07/24 08:01 PM
5

Why fight, settle custody sell house or buy her out and you're done
/r/Divorce_Men02/07/24 07:31 PM
1

My ex left and notified me through lawyers that she moved out this was after we set up a 50/50 parenting time agreement, then kept coming back and showing up then the last time I told her she is not to come back you have moved out and I have an expectation of privacy. Next time she showed up I left and brought our child to my mother's and came back with the police they had emptied the whole house aside from my bed into three pickup trucks police made them put everything back.
/r/Divorce_Men30/06/24 01:28 AM
3

That's what they do her justification for wanting sole custody was I had my daughter get a x-ray when she was injured with mom.
/r/Divorce_Men30/06/24 01:17 AM
1

In the end that's what this is all about she lost her control that she craves so dearly
/r/Divorce_Men29/06/24 06:51 PM
2

That's what my attorney says, but never know I don't trust this system.
/r/Divorce_Men26/06/24 08:10 PM
3

Good stuff I'm taking notes too been doing 50/50 temp orders for a year now while she drags her feet, wish me luck trial set for October
/r/Divorce_Men26/06/24 08:04 PM
3

ALL OF IT, I'm a dad that's the only thing I'd do again, no contracts with the government
/r/Divorce_Men25/06/24 11:43 PM
5

You're right tho I can't watch movies at home to save my soul anymore but took my daughter to movie today and watched the whole thing
/r/Divorce_Men25/06/24 07:29 PM
4

I have a years worth of crazy abusive messages well see if any of it matters in trial.
/r/Divorce_Men24/06/24 10:34 AM
13

Yes I'll see this kind of stuff and I'll go ohhhhh yea I remember that garbage, then the gaslighting I never yell or swear at you
/r/Divorce_Men24/06/24 10:25 AM
1

This almost word for word my divorce except one kid and she tried the ROFR with me during the summer too cause she a teacher judge told her if he has family who can watch her or he can take PTO you don't get her, her lawyers got yelled at by judge twice and they got into argument with GAL in front of judge We now have a trial date in the fall and status quo ordered granted for 50/50 temp
/r/Divorce_Men21/06/24 05:02 PM
1

I've only seen my lawyer in person 4 times, he has saved me a lot of money but been a year of dragging on and playing games
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 05:54 PM
3

Ignore the crazy that's all you need to do
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 05:51 PM

/r/Divorce_Men15/06/24 04:44 PM

DUDE THIS IS GOOD, affair fog is the best possible thing to happen to.men in divorce, she is delusion land get those papers signed and dated before she wakes up
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/24 04:42 PM
16

Mediation is a bluff to gather information and fake out leading up to the trial, custody and financial the real mediation will come on the steps of the courthouse. If your wife was sane and reasonable you wouldn't need mediation.
/r/Divorce_Men11/06/24 11:30 PM
1

Were you seeing other people? Was she? What's the issue
/r/Divorce_Men08/06/24 02:17 PM
2

$150% through this whole process not once did my lawyer or her lawyer or the judge or gal ever mention anything about if this is what's right for the child it's all about "trial is very expensive" you guys need to settle
/r/Divorce_Men08/06/24 12:04 AM
2

YUP winner winner chicken dinner
/r/Divorce_Men07/06/24 11:53 PM
2

If kids are involved you need a lawyer end of story sorry it's gonna get ugly at some point that's how this works
/r/Divorce_Men07/06/24 11:52 PM
2

We spent about 5k too and ten hours only for stbx to say nah nvm I don't agree anymore
/r/Divorce_Men07/06/24 11:49 PM
3

I'm 11k in and still dancing around mediations and three ways blah blah
/r/Divorce_Men07/06/24 11:45 PM
3

I feel the same been at this a year and never feels like it's ever going to end everyday theres a weight hanging over me have so many plans when everything is finalized but sitting in limbo
/r/Divorce_Men02/06/24 03:08 AM
1

In the end the family court system is all about $$$$, if you're willing to light a lot of it on fire, you'll get 50/50 or close to it, this is a war of arritation, just remember keep your mouth shut don't fight with her let the lawyers deal with it. No matter what crazy shit she says or does just ignore it and be the better person. If you make it clear you're willing to light 50-100k on fire you'll get what you want, the next year or two will be lost and lots of money will be lost but you'll get…
/r/Divorce_Men25/05/24 03:35 AM
4

Did you let her take your kids with her? If you did you need to get them back asap, they need to be living in the marital home, at least with. 50/50 agreement in place
/r/Divorce_Men25/05/24 03:24 AM
1

Yes most blue states are, did you let her take your children to her sisters?
/r/Divorce_Men25/05/24 03:19 AM
8

Ive been doing 50/50 with a 2 1/2 year old and she's thriving, doesn't stop the ex from fighting it in court but I've made.it clear I will take her to trial to fight for my child. If your willing to fight and you have a state that's somewhat decent to men you'd have a really decent shot at some sort 50/50 45/55 arrangement.
/r/Divorce_Men25/05/24 03:09 AM
1

There's plenty of before and after school programs out there everyone has to work and those hours you're suggesting are not abnormal.
/r/Divorce_Men25/05/24 02:23 AM
1

What about parenting time?
/r/Divorce_Men24/05/24 10:06 PM
1

You'll have this problem for minute I know I did for 6 months then I realized only taking care of my child for 50% of the time I was super dad for that 50%, house is deloused cleansed prepped the next day that she goes by her mom and fridge is full of fresh food when she comes back it's amazing I think every kid should grow up in two.houses two parents on their own are so much better then two.parents under one roof
/r/Divorce_Men23/05/24 01:36 AM
4

Closure would mean she owns up to her shit and that will never happen my parents divorced when I was 7 and now they're seeing my divorce and are friends and bond over my daughter but to this very day my mom did absolutely NOTHING wrong in her divorce despite cheating on my dad it's still all his fault and he just doesn't care
/r/Divorce_Men18/05/24 09:33 PM
1

I'm curious about this because I'm on her insurance but she refuses to drop me and our daughter I wanted to put her on mine but she refused, will I owe her half for the time we've been in divorce process
/r/Divorce_Men17/05/24 02:55 PM
4

Get this shit in writing asap and get out of it
/r/Divorce_Men17/05/24 02:54 PM
5

My problem is I gotta like know the woman and feel comfortable to get anything going, hard to do that with hookups
/r/Divorce_Men16/05/24 02:01 AM
3

Sounds exactly like my divorce, we went to mediation and got an agreement and she backs out now headed to pretrial just keep fighting
/r/Divorce_Men15/05/24 11:25 PM
2

Paying her to change her name lol
/r/Divorce_Men14/05/24 04:48 PM
1

Unless your ex runs off to Italy and doesn't come back you're gonna need an attorney to get 50/50
/r/Divorce_Men14/05/24 11:27 AM
2

Sad.
/r/Divorce_Men14/05/24 11:24 AM
3

My stbx was like trying to use it to negotiate I said idc lol
/r/Divorce_Men14/05/24 11:23 AM
3

She filed but I was going to file soon if she didn't, and no living with her was toxic and very bad for my health. Our child will grow up much happier now that she has two parents who Are happier alone
/r/Divorce_Men14/05/24 12:51 AM
3

There's something about sleeping next to a woman and being rejected constantly and masturbating constantly because of it, now that I'm single and living alone on a busy week I'm doing it twice a week.
/r/Divorce_Men14/05/24 12:49 AM
-4

5 marriages between you two, people never learn lol
/r/Divorce_Men14/05/24 12:46 AM
4

New generation of women are having kids then running off with guys and or women to pursue the happiness
/r/Divorce_Men13/05/24 11:00 PM
3

01/23 lol but wasn't very good at the end anyways
/r/Divorce_Men13/05/24 09:28 PM
2

That's not gonna happen sorry, do the 50/50 and save yourself big big bills
/r/Divorce_Men13/05/24 03:37 PM
9

Open a separate bank account if you don't have one and move your direct deposit to that borrow or put retainer on credit card and file hurry while she's still giggling it'll be easier, you don't send any letters you file for divorce, your marriage is over, she'll be served and process will start. Don't talk to her anymore don talk to her family anymore only talk to your kids
/r/Divorce_Men13/05/24 11:41 AM
1

Maybe I'm just paranoid I'd be worried it would mess something up I think I'd rather just bag it forever
/r/Divorce_Men12/05/24 07:33 PM
11

When they start talking about your problems to other people it's DONE that's phase two of getting support it's in the scumbag woman handbook phase three is file and file PO or TRO
/r/Divorce_Men04/05/24 07:47 PM
1

And 9/10 the grass isn't greener is brown and burnout and patchy
/r/Divorce_Men04/05/24 01:39 PM
2

That's a rough one you'll probably go to trial or get very close, God speed remember only the judge and you can get you less then 50%, take this all the way to the end.
/r/Divorce_Men28/04/24 03:05 PM
3

Letting her take the kids more than 50% at this junction of there's no court order in place is a HUGE mistake, you're setting a bad precedent you need to be focusing on them if you're going to get 50%
/r/Divorce_Men28/04/24 02:34 PM
2

If the divorce is not final she has no power to resist you at all from seeing your kids, what has the court ordered for temp.order in terms of parenting time.
/r/Divorce_Men28/04/24 02:23 PM
4

Stbx has her dad take a crowbar to my room only to find it was empty aside from bed and TV and clothes I took all the important shit and stashed it
/r/Divorce_Men28/04/24 12:23 AM
1

If she makes more money then you, you prob don't have to worry maybe even get some alimony out of it, most.likely split all assets 50/50
/r/Divorce_Men25/04/24 11:43 AM
3

Man thankfully my lawyer never answers the phone when I'm calling about nonsense lol otherwise I would have eaten up mine fast too lol
/r/Divorce_Men25/04/24 12:19 AM
2

That's insane 50% of income in child support and maintenance
/r/Divorce_Men20/04/24 12:04 AM
1

Man been fighting for a year over nothing so ridiculous
/r/Divorce_Men16/04/24 11:54 PM
2

That's how I feel this whole time I'm like "I'm trying to be nice" and every time my family says how's that being nice thing working out for you.
/r/Divorce_Men16/04/24 06:20 PM
1

How long did the divorce take from filing to finalized?
/r/Divorce_Men16/04/24 06:01 PM
6

This is good advice I always forget this..my fear of her makes me think she's an evil genius when in reality she's compulsive doesn't think things through and acts purely on emotions
/r/Divorce_Men16/04/24 05:32 PM
1

Still broke, now it's 10k but I got 14k from house sale so that helps, ridiculous
/r/Divorce_Men16/04/24 05:28 PM
5

Let the judge handle it nothing to be worried about
/r/Divorce_Men07/04/24 09:43 PM
3

I forced mine to use OFW, so much better ignore the nonsense only communicate what's essential, this whole process is horseshit anyways, it's all about $$$$$.
/r/Divorce_Men07/04/24 05:05 PM
2

I know but works good for me, get a good workout from 5-6am and my daughter wakes up at 6am
/r/Divorce_Men06/04/24 05:09 PM
3

That's not true at all you can file married separately anytime you want
/r/Divorce_Men06/04/24 04:43 PM
1

You're gonna pay alimony, file and let the lawyers handle it no kids so just money
/r/Divorce_Men05/04/24 12:17 PM
7

I don't train in a gym but I've been doing workouts with home gym and dumbbells man it feels good
/r/Divorce_Men05/04/24 10:17 AM
4

What's the end goal here why do women do this shit? Just to win custody battles? Aren't they winning majority of the time anyways without these crazy tactics.
/r/Divorce_Men05/04/24 10:10 AM
2

That sounds awful, and almost identical to my wife but I'm divorcing after a few years didn't stay. Life is too short get out.
/r/Divorce_Men05/04/24 10:07 AM
6

Sickening sorry you have to deal with this what is wrong with these women
/r/Divorce_Men02/04/24 05:14 AM
3

So far her leaving and taking care of a child on my own half the time has been a breeze even her bullshit harassment is a breeze the only stressful thing is paying and paying and paying and fighting in court.
/r/Divorce_Men01/04/24 12:36 AM
5

If its not 50/50 or very close to that, you don't agree to shit, you fight until the judge makes the decision. That's where you screwed up.
/r/Divorce_Men28/03/24 05:28 PM
2

You're fortunate to have a ex who doesn't want to spend 50k in court, I'm already 10k deep myself alone and nothing has been decided
/r/Divorce_Men28/03/24 05:04 PM
5

This is so true, it's a weird relationship you start to have with money as well like it's not even real
/r/Divorce_Men26/03/24 12:31 AM
2

So far divorce cost has been double the wedding cost
/r/Divorce_Men25/03/24 06:53 PM

There ya go no kids tho so shouldn't be too bad, if I was you I'd stop paying mortgage
/r/Divorce_Men25/03/24 11:53 AM

Thank God for my new job when she filed for divorce been a great distraction made new friends, really helped my self worth, they love me there my boss is amazing. Only time I take off work is for holidays or court dates
/r/Divorce_Men25/03/24 11:02 AM
6

You're barking up the wrong tree plenty of bad stats for liberal states but being pro mom and mom leaning isn't one of them, typically the worst states for men's rights are red states I mean look at Texas you can't even get 50/50 through the courts
/r/Divorce_Men25/03/24 01:32 AM
11

I envy the guys here ready to start dating furthest thing from my mind and it's not because I'm hung up on the ex, way too buys being a single father
/r/Divorce_Men24/03/24 11:30 PM

Doubt it as years go on they only cement their delusion
/r/Divorce_Men24/03/24 08:48 PM

I think you gotta pick your battles, baptism is stupid who cares
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/24 06:44 PM
1

Just ignore her
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/24 05:15 PM
4

Be happy honestly, this hurt will pass, and you can totally separate from her and never talk to her again, I'd block her on everything and let attorney deal with it. Hopefully you can sell house and break even or make some money and move on
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/24 03:56 PM
1

Listen to your lawyer, my lawyer told me no one's ever gotten into trouble for keeping their mouth shut
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/24 03:33 AM
7

Get a lawyer and file asap the fact that you hold the house is gonna be a big leverage chip.
/r/Divorce_Men14/02/24 01:02 PM
7

I don't think you can do that tbh
/r/Divorce_Men02/02/24 01:18 PM
2

That's how I feel tbh, but I'm only 8 months into the div
/r/Divorce_Men02/02/24 12:54 AM
3

Been there done that, I'd get a new job that mirrors her schedule, that's the first thing, unless you wanna be a every other weekend dad. Eventually kids will go to daycare or school
/r/Divorce_Men31/01/24 01:59 PM
3

I always had this issue was never a one night stand guy maybe ease into it, don't pull jimmy out until you've known them a few weeks and have gone on many dates get more comfortable with them

The dredded mother in law, idk what her deal was acted like she absolutely loved me for like the 6 years we dated then we get married and pregnant and all of a sudden she's doing the craziest shit, coming over and moving furniture around to different rooms in my house dragged a dresser and bed frame across wood floors and put huge scratches on floors and smashed up drywall, I came home and immediately put everything back to how it was and my wife acts like I was the one at fault, should pumped t…

The only thing that matters right now is you and your kids, she's now your worst enemy and will not hesitate to destroy you mentally and financially
/r/Divorce_Men31/01/24 03:45 AM

When she left and I was in marital house by myself with our child 50% of the time I thought I was gonna notice a difference, in fact it seems like cleaning the house is easier the house is spotless 99% of the time and I spend prob 2 hours a week MAX cleaning
/r/Divorce_Men31/01/24 02:09 AM
2

I second this no kids, I'd file and leave why bother such a short marriage aside from retirement accounts she ain't getting anything
/r/Divorce_Men29/01/24 01:14 AM
3

I hear you, it's over tho time to reinvent yourself focus on your kids if you have any
/r/Divorce_Men28/01/24 07:43 PM

Unless the judge is ordering you to leave, DO NOT LEAVE, so many strategic benefits to staying in the marital home.
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 01:21 PM

Wait what she wanted to get a divorce two years ago after two months married? And instead of divorcing her you had kids together? Dude come on, and btw there's no reason a man should be served at work if she has you served at work she purposely told them to

/r/Divorce_Men23/01/24 06:33 AM

What's funny is HER lawyer sent mine an email saying our clients need to switch to OFW for all co-parenting so I bought it the next day and it sends stbx a request, she didn't create her account until 29 days later
/r/Divorce_Men23/01/24 03:36 AM
1

This is true I like this idea def working this down for mediation thank you, because I love 223 but this would make it a lot easier then graduate to week on week off when older
/r/Divorce_Men23/01/24 03:31 AM
1

Going back to mediation in two weeks, I will keep this schedule in mind I really like that, the only issue with that is when it's not your weekend you'd go 5 days without seeing them.
/r/Divorce_Men23/01/24 03:01 AM
1

That's actually perfect it's like a 223 that never changes and that's 50/50?
/r/Divorce_Men23/01/24 02:24 AM
5

9 days straight without seeing them? I couldn't do that
/r/Divorce_Men18/01/24 12:14 PM

/r/Divorce_Men11/01/24 11:42 AM

My favorite was the month after she filed and still lived with me my family refused to even look at her she'd constantly try to talk to people and everyone pretended like she wasn't there, then at least 10 times a day she would ask me to do things like I was still her husband, I'd say ummm let me explain again to you, we are getting divorced so no I won't go get you breakfast and warm your car up. The look on her face was priceless total confusion on why I wasn't her bitch boy anymore
/r/Divorce_Men10/01/24 02:50 AM

Ouch she's an idiot

Eh hire lawyer and let them deal with it focus on your kids if you have any and yourself
/r/Divorce_Men07/01/24 08:30 PM

I realized early on in my divorce that being "nice" isn't gonna get you anywhere, draw a line in the sand at what you want which is fair at 50/50 everything and do not cross it and be willing to go to trial to achieve that, most men were bossed around and manipulated into doing what their wives wanted during the marriage so they assume they can do the same in divorce, don't let that be the case. Unless there are temporary orders filed regarding money take half of all money in joint accounts, if …

She sounds pathetic and sad, but who cares
/r/Divorce_Men06/01/24 01:52 AM
6

Eh just went through mediation where I said keep the status que of 50/50 and she asked for basically sole custody and then she said look I compromised 60/40, then the mediator said ok well he's not budging so either you're gonna budge or you're going to trial and then she said well maybe 50/50 if xyz and the mediator said well what do you want and then she danced around it for 30 mins and mediator called it for the day well see what happens if we even try again
/r/Divorce_Men04/01/24 03:06 AM
3

Good, one saving grace for my divorce my wife swore up and down about how we need joint credit cards I said we have debit cards from joint account that fine thank God I refused that.
/r/Divorce_Men01/01/24 01:39 PM
1

Why on earth would you let her use your card still lol thankfully she isn't a monster cancel those immediately, my friends ex had a card with his name on it and went on 20k shopping spree on her way out the door
/r/Divorce_Men01/01/24 01:17 PM

/r/Divorce_Men29/12/23 04:47 PM

This isn't launching missiles from a sub where both keys need to engage, if separation is brought up chances are it's over, I'd say skip the separation retain an attorney and file for divorce.
/r/Divorce_Men27/12/23 03:39 AM
4

The issue is she's staring at an existence where you can't buy a shack in our area without a 2200-2300 mortgage payment and she takes home 3600 and I take home Even less so what's that leave, two separate houses where neither of us can afford a house anymore
/r/Divorce_Men27/12/23 03:31 AM

Oh you have no idea, before she moved out, she would rent books from the library on divorce leave them around the house open to pages on child support and alimony, to try and get a rise out of me, my favorite was her mom came over and started moving in furniture into our house saying this furniture is for my wife when you leave soon, I'm like I'm not leaving any time soon lol within two weeks my stbx left
/r/Divorce_Men09/12/23 04:12 PM

She's prepping, if a woman brings it up it's like when you see one cockroach in your house there's 500 in your walls. It's over, and why would you want someone anyways whose gonna confront you with divorce to get YOU to change how SHE wants you to change, I'm sure she's not 100% blameless. I'd get a lawyer, file and listen and do exactly as they say, keep your mouth shut with her play nice and don't move out, if you have kids totally abandon her needs and focus 150% on them. The opposite of love is indifference even being mean is an emotion which shows you are letting her rent space, being mean means you are mad being mad means she won, being indifferent and polite says a lot more then being mean but thats my opinion.

You're gonna be fine, and you're gonna do great.

Has divorce been filed? In most states it's from the time of the divorce, and they can do whatever they want with any money in the accounts, if I had to redo id take half out when it was obvious she was gonna file and just deposit enough to cover half the bills
/r/Divorce_Men20/11/23 12:48 PM
7

You'd be surprised trust me she has slandered you I'm sure she has
/r/Divorce_Men20/11/23 01:02 AM
3

I wouldn't talk to her at All unless you got kids with her
/r/Divorce_Men19/11/23 07:27 PM
2

I have mediation next month but it's only about my daughter, we've agreed between us on a 223 schedule and have been doing it for 5 months now, she moved out right before we agreed upon the schedule I'm hoping she doesn't do anything crazy
/r/Divorce_Men19/11/23 02:16 PM
7

You've been separated for two years time to file and move on
/r/Divorce_Men18/11/23 09:13 PM
4

Get into therapy asap
/r/Divorce_Men18/11/23 02:44 PM
3

Could be some common law marriage involved in this if you've been together for 20 years
/r/Divorce_Men18/11/23 01:57 PM
8

I wouldn't do it again, no upside really, our wedding only cost 6k and we've already doubled that in divorce cost and nothing is settled and been married for less than two years
/r/Divorce_Men18/11/23 02:24 AM
4

Such a quick marriage I wouldn't worry too much no kids no assets, should be a quickie
/r/Divorce_Men18/11/23 02:23 AM
17

I wouldn't even confront her about it I'd just serve her and move it along
/r/Divorce_Men18/11/23 02:21 AM
21

They all claim that nonsense, hire a lawyer and don't let her nonsense bother you.
/r/Divorce_Men17/11/23 09:52 PM
4

Short term marriage no kids gonna be a breeze especially if you both make near the same amount of money
/r/Divorce_Men17/11/23 07:39 PM
26

NO!!!!!! Could open a huge can of worms could be a way for her to accuse you of assault or try and knock her up any number of things bad idea
/r/Divorce_Men17/11/23 05:18 PM
2

How long are you married and do your have kids, if it's short term marriage get out now, if it's long term and have kids you're fucked
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 02:02 PM
3

Money is involved nothing is probably I'd consult with multiple attorneys
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 01:12 PM
7

Yea never go back never ever, I went back to my ex girlfriend and now we're getting divorced, didn't work way back when should have never gone back.
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 12:49 PM
4

The divorce isn't gonna be the nasty part, it's your kids custody that's gonna be the nasty part.
/r/Divorce_Men16/11/23 12:48 PM
5

Beg and borrow and steal to get that retainer, meet with a few lawyers, don't panic it's not the first time these witches caught people off guard, the whole process is painstakingly slow, so you have time, if you have kids focus on them ignore your wife don't engage with her at all. She is now your enemy and opponent
/r/Divorce_Men15/11/23 02:21 PM
4

Jesus two years good for you congrats
/r/Divorce_Men15/11/23 12:49 PM
8

She's screwed lol you got her by the short and curlies, you're gonna make out pretty good in this, hire a lawyer and sit back relax and be a good father and don't leave the house
/r/Divorce_Men15/11/23 02:13 AM
0

Meh just file for divorce
/r/Divorce_Men14/11/23 03:40 PM
1

I think it has a lot to do with two things, if you get divorced you have to have a reason not just shrug it didn't work moving on, the guy has to be the asshole abuser etc etc they need to rationalize to themselves and to others why they failed at being a wife, and then the second part is unless your husband is very wealthy and You're divorcing him, your quality of life is going to drop drastically, like I don't think my stbx will be able to even afford a house for a long long time, like we toge…
/r/Divorce_Men14/11/23 03:06 PM
6

You make over 100k a year and you don't have a lawyer are you nuts lol, retain a lawyer asap
/r/Divorce_Men14/11/23 02:54 PM
2

That's so cool man, I'm so happy for you, love these posts.
/r/Divorce_Men14/11/23 03:32 AM
3

I literally started a new career weeks before she filed, a month into my new job she moved out and I rarely have to see her anymore, it's amazing how a black hole leaving affects you I'm like a new person, and kicking ass at my new job. The only annoying thing is they want to.promote me again but I'm trying to keep my income lower than hers until it's finalized so I'm doing the work as if I was promoted but at 20k less income.
/r/Divorce_Men14/11/23 03:30 AM
4

BINGO
/r/Divorce_Men14/11/23 03:24 AM
4

Man, the more I see the posts the more I realize I had nothing in common with my stbx we never did anything fun together like this.
/r/Divorce_Men13/11/23 01:05 PM
11

How far along are you in the process? Focus on your kids and yourself, no drinking
/r/Divorce_Men13/11/23 01:04 PM
7

Amicable means, you do exactly what she wants and she does it without any lubrication. Hire a lawyer asap
/r/Divorce_Men13/11/23 12:02 AM
1

This is gotta be a troll.
/r/Divorce_Men12/11/23 11:58 PM
22

Funny thing is my parents got divorced 25 years ago, and it was a nasty nasty divorce real bad, and last few years they're buddies now talking on the phone every night like school girls, and I tell my dad knock it off lol
/r/Divorce_Men12/11/23 08:22 PM
11

That's gonna be a rough one but at least don't have to deal with child support and GALs and all that shit in two years can cut that cord and never look at her again, she's gonna come after your retirement and everything else she can, and so can you.
/r/Divorce_Men12/11/23 06:51 PM
1

Grateful dead has been the Anthem of my divorce, love it
/r/Divorce_Men12/11/23 05:19 PM

/r/Divorce_Men12/11/23 04:33 PM

/r/Divorce_Men12/11/23 03:51 PM
4

Fuck that, I'm about to do mediation in December, she's gonna be wanting a lot of this horseshit I think, crazy woman.
/r/Divorce_Men12/11/23 03:20 PM
3

So much conflict, end the cycle now, she's not gonna buy him a car we know that, I don't even know her and I know that. If you want him to have a car just buy it, in the end he'll remember you were the parent who did things for him.
/r/Divorce_Men12/11/23 01:50 PM
2

No kids short marriage, pull that plug like you're starting a lawn mower, I'd file and take what you want from the house and leave.
/r/Divorce_Men12/11/23 12:53 PM
14

This is ain't a Steve Carroll movie where the main characters end up together, she's done with you, the sooner you come to the realization about that the better you're going to be in the end, and I can assure you YOURE BETTER OFF
/r/Divorce_Men10/11/23 12:37 PM
1

Mine was 50 bucks lol dunno where it went
/r/Divorce_Men05/11/23 08:28 PM
1

Good for you!!
/r/Divorce_Men05/11/23 08:23 PM
2

Get out while it's early and easy FAST if you aren't smitten now only gonna get worse, I regret getting married but not having a child, she's the most.improtant thing in the universe to me
/r/Divorce_Men01/11/23 02:40 AM
1

AMEN, Thank you I loved this 🙏 We're going to mediation soon, and I intend to die on that hill. We're doing 50/50 223 right now even tho I was taking care of our daughter more than her I was a SAHD essentially, and she still acts like she's going to get the majority parenting time.
/r/Divorce_Men31/10/23 06:52 PM
2

Probably need more information, if you're renting I'm gonna say the only thing of importance involved in this divorce is your children, I'd fight until the very end, you got nothing to lose at this point, if she's getting 20% and still wants more, makes no sense to settle on your end, id take her to a trial.
/r/Divorce_Men31/10/23 06:31 PM
16

Exactly and toxic people around them usually cause this, then once they're divorced and free, these people step back and watch the chaos
/r/Divorce_Men31/10/23 03:22 PM
2

Right, daycare stops so much conflict, I'm doing this but 223 she's young, hoping to graduate to week on week off when she's older
/r/Divorce_Men31/10/23 02:58 PM
9

You're blinded right now, I don't even know you and i guarantee you 98% is nonsense. Make a list of everything you disliked about her
/r/Divorce_Men31/10/23 12:14 PM
2

Keeping the house clean with my stxb living with me was a lot of work, but now with her gone house is always clean lol she is such a piggy
/r/Divorce_Men30/10/23 02:45 AM
1

Yea don't even play the separation game, hire a lawyer and file, this isn't a Disney movie where you fall back in love and it works out, it's done move on
/r/Divorce_Men29/10/23 09:56 PM
1

Ofcourse lol, I have her journal notes from her shrink and therapist where she describes herself and attributes these actions to me lol
/r/Divorce_Men29/10/23 08:29 PM
3

What's your attorney say
/r/Divorce_Men29/10/23 06:29 PM
3

This is what I've been doing and it's helping me cope, kill it with being a dad, become superdad, kill it at work, get in shape eat healthier
/r/Divorce_Men29/10/23 05:11 PM
3

Our relationship had deteriorated so bad and she was such an awful person towards the end to me, that I really really didn't care I was losing her, just concerned about my daughter and financial future. The black hole and black cloud have lifted so much since she has left it's really amazing, I got a new job new friends, I lost 30 pounds and don't really drink anymore. I'm excited to end this nonsense, and move on with my life as a single dad. But that's just my experience.
/r/Divorce_Men29/10/23 02:14 PM
1

Honestly, most attorneys do the hush hush yes they were separated for a year game, have you talked to an attorney? Has divorce been filed?
/r/Divorce_Men26/10/23 11:06 PM
1

Early early my daughter is two, she won't even remember her parents together good or bad
/r/Divorce_Men26/10/23 11:56 AM
1

Does she not work?
/r/Divorce_Men26/10/23 10:35 AM
4

Guilt? These monsters don't feel that.
/r/Divorce_Men25/10/23 12:47 PM
2

How did you swing that?
/r/Divorce_Men23/10/23 09:24 PM
3

People do weird shit, my stbx told me several times she wanted to buy me out then one day a month after she filed just left and now we're selling it, prob couldn't get a loan I'm guessing
/r/Divorce_Men23/10/23 08:32 PM
2

That's a very good point
/r/Divorce_Men23/10/23 10:23 AM
7

You'd be surprised, my STBX HATED counseling and the therapist was a woman, we'd discuss a fight and the therapist would blame her because she's nuts
/r/Divorce_Men23/10/23 02:54 AM
6

No kids? Time to bounce
/r/Divorce_Men23/10/23 02:53 AM
0

Yea you're screwed lol get a lawyer asap
/r/Divorce_Men22/10/23 07:22 PM
6

Childhood issues, feeling like I need to help people probably
/r/Divorce_Men22/10/23 01:19 PM
3

Doesn't matter if she won't pay the mortgage judge can enforce that she does until a settlement is in order
/r/Divorce_Men22/10/23 09:16 AM
4

I'm literally going through this with my wife, she left in August the rest of the joint cash paid Sept mortgage, and she played chicken with me on October payment until the day before it was considered late and she paid mortgage company her half directly, id do the same let it go until last day then pay it, you should have 14 day grace period shut off auto payment
/r/Divorce_Men22/10/23 01:37 AM
5

Shell have to pay it eventually, you can't just walk away from an obligation to mortgage.
/r/Divorce_Men22/10/23 01:22 AM
3

Celebrate
/r/Divorce_Men21/10/23 09:44 PM

/r/Divorce_Men21/10/23 11:00 AM

/r/Divorce_Men18/10/23 08:05 PM
1

Mine moved in with her mommy, and they are both needed to take care of one two year old girl 50% of the time, meanwhile I do it the other 50% on my own, I picked up my daughter from there the other day they both looked like they had been through Vietnam, they were like she was up all night, I was like really cause she's never waking up for me in three months lol Can't wait till it is finalized and see her family again gonna say she's your crazy again no take backs lol
/r/Divorce_Men18/10/23 01:21 PM
1

How was mediation I have meditation coming up
/r/Divorce_Men17/10/23 08:59 PM

/r/Divorce_Men17/10/23 07:31 PM
3

Didn't learn the first time lol
/r/Divorce_Men17/10/23 02:58 PM
3

I'll never forget her face to my reaction when she said she filed, I was on a ladder changing a ceiling fan for.my daughters room, and I stepped down and said enthusiastically THANK GOD, I'm so happy let's get our daughter's figured out and everyone can be happy and move on. The look on her face was like someone told her Santa didn't exist, she expected me to hit the floor and beg her not to do it.
/r/Divorce_Men17/10/23 11:55 AM
5

Def sounds mentally ill, sounds like my stbx, so angry and resentful when SHE refused to go to counseling and SHE filed and meanwhile I'm loving being away from her the house is so quiet and relaxing and drama free
/r/Divorce_Men17/10/23 11:44 AM
11

Sounds like no kids be happy, I got another 16 years of this serpent leech bothering me
/r/Divorce_Men17/10/23 12:39 AM
8

YES
/r/Divorce_Men16/10/23 11:13 PM
8

OMG yes she was obsessed with that scrolling another one was she was obsessed with watching a woman make meals for her kids and husband and she NEVER did either for me and my daughter lol
/r/Divorce_Men16/10/23 11:12 PM
1

Cup judges balls lmfao
/r/Divorce_Men16/10/23 06:41 PM
2

THANK God I refused to get joint cards!!! Sorry for your pain, only had 1 joint checking and she drained it after a few months when she realized I wasn't gonna bend over for her thankfully we're not big earners so only drained 2k
/r/Divorce_Men16/10/23 12:10 AM
5

What is with these men, if she has a lawyer and you don't you will be FUCKED, spend the money beg borrow steal get a lawyer top priority
/r/Divorce_Men15/10/23 04:10 PM
1

What were they doing for 6 years just dragging it out over and over again, and what's your attorney doing letting it go on like this lol
/r/Divorce_Men15/10/23 12:31 PM
17

Uh call a lawyer and file for divorce if you're married
/r/Divorce_Men15/10/23 12:29 PM
7

Her and her lawyer are trying to skin me alive
/r/Divorce_Men15/10/23 01:01 AM
6

LOL I had one of those amicable divorces too, we were gonna split everything evenly and equal parenting time and marshmallows and sugarplums. Skip forward to her petition that said we're gonna drag you from a car in the tollway.
/r/Divorce_Men15/10/23 12:32 AM
10

So fake lol
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/23 11:42 PM
6

Didn't get at least 50/50 and you pay for everything
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/23 06:03 PM
4

How the hell did get shafted both ways damn
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/23 05:58 PM
3

And what is the parenting time like
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/23 05:52 PM
8

Was she a sahm?
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/23 05:38 PM
3

No kids no big assets shouldn't be a big deal, lesson learned you're young move on with your life, file.amivabky and get tf away from her
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/23 01:26 PM
4

I don't get how it can drag out for that long that's ridiculous there's a court in this country that allows this nonsense
/r/Divorce_Men13/10/23 08:47 PM
5

I think that's one of those games they all play, my stbx makes 30k more then me a year and has like 50k more in assets then me and her lawyer said in petition I need to pay for her lawyer, prob to scare me from fighting back, my attorney says if you have a job you can afford to pay for your own attorney in my state. I wouldn't worry about it, you can ask for anything. Doesn't mean you're gonna get it.
/r/Divorce_Men13/10/23 08:42 PM
11

Man I wish my frump could find a man, change her name and leave me alone
/r/Divorce_Men13/10/23 08:39 PM
2

Only 4 months into it nothing finalized but luckily she moved out pretty quick
/r/Divorce_Men13/10/23 02:46 AM
2

Ive never had so much energy in my life, I'm superdad now, without her drama and constant drain on my soul, 'm killing it at work, my friend and family say wow we can actually have a conversation with you now before we thought you developed adhd, I do not miss that succubus even for 5 seconds of my day. Just anxious to get this shit over with and be done with her
/r/Divorce_Men13/10/23 01:16 AM
2

I'm 4 months in and it's $3500, could be worse I guess I bet hers is a lot higher already
/r/Divorce_Men13/10/23 01:10 AM
3

Had a friend who I haven't seen in a year randomly pop up because he heard through the grapevine I was going through divorce and he said what day are you free showed up at my house with two big ass steaks veggies and 6 pack, we've gotten close lately, he's a good guy
/r/Divorce_Men13/10/23 12:35 AM
2

Beautiful, thank you for your words of wisdom
/r/Divorce_Men12/10/23 11:37 PM
2

If you're broke, it can't be that bad right? Lol
/r/Divorce_Men12/10/23 07:49 PM
2

God bless ya, worst part of the day was listening to her go on and on about how everyone at work is mean to her and that's why she keeps getting fired
/r/Divorce_Men12/10/23 03:23 AM
5

I need mine to find a new man, get rid of.my last name and leave me alone
/r/Divorce_Men10/10/23 11:46 AM
3

Reminds me of my STBX says she deserves majority parenting time and she will get whats equitable, constantly giving up her time to me already and new schedule isn't even two months old, how the hell do you need a sitter on your off week when you only have our daughter for 6 hours that week
/r/Divorce_Men10/10/23 11:45 AM
1

You're going to become superdad, that's your job right now, fuck that monster stbx. Focus entirely on your child, and position yourself to fight for your child, grey rock her ignore her, record her when she's near you, are you still living together?
/r/Divorce_Men09/10/23 12:36 PM
2

Dive into a hobby, take on more responsibility at work, reinvent yourself. It's time for you now.
/r/Divorce_Men09/10/23 12:32 PM
2

Luckily mine was a quickie, only married less than two years, if my daughter wasn't in the picture I would have bounced after that first year and said send me a check.
/r/Divorce_Men09/10/23 12:31 PM
2

Once that ink is dry on dissolution you can burn them or sell or throw off bridge who cares
/r/Divorce_Men09/10/23 12:29 PM
1

30 is a baby imo, you haven't even hit your prime in life, yours 30s are gonna be a blast I would stay away from marriage going forward, clearly you and your dad can't pick them lol
/r/Divorce_Men09/10/23 12:26 PM
16

You haven't finalized divorce and she already gave birth to someone else's kid Jesus, when will the courts start punishing these monsters
/r/Divorce_Men09/10/23 11:49 AM
4

Call a lawyer fuck that shit beat her to the punch
/r/Divorce_Men08/10/23 11:34 PM
2

No matter what happens even if you die today, tomorrow is gonna happen, so why worry about it
/r/Divorce_Men08/10/23 05:58 PM
4

Now that is amazing idea
/r/Divorce_Men08/10/23 04:36 PM
4

Man sound pretty amicable, let's hope it is, I'm in the trenches lol
/r/Divorce_Men08/10/23 12:04 PM
27

If you've only been married a few months she is not entitled to anything except child support depending on income
/r/Divorce_Men07/10/23 07:57 PM
2

I lost 40 pounds got a better job start feeling better starting thinking better had so much more fun and good times with my daughter
/r/Divorce_Men07/10/23 07:47 PM
7

I'm wondering this lol
/r/Divorce_Men07/10/23 07:45 PM
2

What has been helping me is live in the moment, I just had a kick ass morning at the zoo with my daughter she was making the most excited faces at the monkeys and it was amazing. Celebrate small victories
/r/Divorce_Men07/10/23 07:42 PM
1

My stbx stopped wearing hers and it disappeared she thinks I paid 8k for it, it was $1800 at zales rofl
/r/Divorce_Men07/10/23 07:34 PM
1

They all do that nonsense, I laugh it off, the people who stick by your side and laugh at her nonsense are your true people, remember that, those that believe her lies were never your people.
/r/Divorce_Men07/10/23 07:27 PM
3

Amen, those rebound marriages never work they'll be divorced eventually
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 12:57 AM
12

Life's too short, it will SUCK for awhile but you're delaying the inevitable. Few shitty years, for many many more years of being happier and healthier without depending on someone who doesn't care about you.
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 11:35 PM
4

Gotta agree with others, she is not your wife anymore, especially if she's talked to a lawyer, when women go to divorce consultations they spin them a story thats insane, the husband will pay for everything, she is your fierce enemy, start reading sun tzu art of war, or listening to it. Imo there's no such thing as an amicable divorce, unless you just give into them on everything.
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 12:06 PM
7

Get the fuck back to that house immediately and record everything
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 01:18 AM
7

My dad would do it constantly and win everytime, would Even go without a lawyer and my mom's lawyer would be forced to draft all the paperwork lol and that was 20 years ago
/r/Divorce_Men02/10/23 12:34 AM
8

I'd say life is short, reconnect with them in 18 years and send a nice check every birthday idk tbh
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/23 08:55 PM
4

Yes that's fucking hard, do you not want to live in Japan?
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/23 07:34 PM
2

Shouldn't be too bad then I'd just file if you want to file and get it going already
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/23 05:47 PM
2

Probably depends how long you've been married
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/23 03:05 PM
20

That's insane, sadly I don't think it matters unless you go to trial or custody stuff maybe
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/23 03:04 PM
21

In 50 years I don't think marriage will be a thing anymore, no reason for it.
/r/Divorce_Men30/09/23 10:24 PM
1

What's your income and hers?
/r/Divorce_Men30/09/23 02:57 PM
1

Substance abuser because your vape? Lmao
/r/Divorce_Men30/09/23 02:51 PM

In my experience with my divorce I'm going through and other people I know, none of that shit matters unless you're going to trial, and you're not going to trial. Even then it doesn't mean much. It's all about $$$$, who makes more who has more, they use your kids as negotiating chips.
/r/Divorce_Men30/09/23 02:49 PM
1

Yup, same situation not swapping shit until ink is dry on divorce.
/r/Divorce_Men30/09/23 02:45 PM
2

Can't wait to celebrate the same day. Congrats
/r/Divorce_Men30/09/23 02:43 PM
1

That's insane
/r/Divorce_Men30/09/23 02:39 PM
2

Why do they do that shit, I'd come home from work put my wallet keys and phone done on dresser if wake up next day and they're missing and shed claim she has no idea then I'd find them in a random drawer across the house, did this with all my stuff.
/r/Divorce_Men29/09/23 12:56 PM
8

All she's going to do is alienate herself from her daughter, let her do it don't let it bother you. Not worth the hassle.
/r/Divorce_Men28/09/23 03:56 PM
3

I'd ask an attorney before doing anything, leaving your children's residence is never a good idea
/r/Divorce_Men28/09/23 03:17 PM
4

You're a tenant, you have rights, landlord can't kick you out without the eviction process.
/r/Divorce_Men28/09/23 01:08 PM
3

Don't leave, call a lawyer asap
/r/Divorce_Men28/09/23 01:01 PM
2

Wow you've been busy good for you, debating if I should go on some dates.
/r/Divorce_Men28/09/23 11:06 AM
16

Good for you man, love it.
/r/Divorce_Men27/09/23 10:45 PM
3

So she only visits her kids once a week and doesn't even pay child support, man must be nice to be a woman
/r/Divorce_Men27/09/23 10:44 PM
3

Good luck to you. Let us know what happens, it sounds like the GAL is on your side which is HUGE
/r/Divorce_Men27/09/23 08:34 PM
5

Pound sand block ignore
/r/Divorce_Men27/09/23 08:19 PM
2

I started a new career a month before she filed, and just dived head deep into that and focusing on my daughter it's kept me sane so far
/r/Divorce_Men27/09/23 07:15 PM
7

I wanna frame her divorce petition when this is all over, I was called a cheap broke loser by her and all of her family when we were married when she filed for divorce I became a millionaire.
/r/Divorce_Men27/09/23 07:04 PM
5

My wife makes 40k more than me and is worth 100k more then me and her petition filing said she's broke and can't afford a lawyer wants alimony and full custody child support AND me pay for her lawyer, when we were married for 1 1/2 years, they can ask for anything and they do it's apart of the game, there's prob plenty of dumbies out there who respond saying OK I'll do it just end this now I wanna screw my secretary more.
/r/Divorce_Men27/09/23 07:02 PM
5

Didn't read the hole thing so sorry if I missed this part but call a lawyer ASAP
/r/Divorce_Men27/09/23 06:53 PM
3

Bingo, I've already cut people out who wanna play the fence or both sides, fuck that shit. Find new friends
/r/Divorce_Men27/09/23 05:11 PM
6

I wouldn't go man, and honestly I'd find new friends why be around your ex especially since you don't have any kids with her, you literally never have to see her again.
/r/Divorce_Men27/09/23 05:10 PM
2

Amen, gotta fight.
/r/Divorce_Men26/09/23 11:20 AM
5

You're a golden god lol, I need me one of those younger girls
/r/Divorce_Men26/09/23 10:12 AM
2

Does this actually ever happen? They go to see a lawyer and the lawyer tells them they're gonna get everything in the world, and they refuse to agree on ANYTHING after that. My wife is a crazy person we literally had a discussion not three days ago over text about taking turns with diapers at daycare and she brought them last time so I brought them this week now she texted me this morning saying she brought them this week so I'll bring them next time, I JUST BROUGHT them diapers two days crazy p…
/r/Divorce_Men25/09/23 10:18 AM
6

That's what I was wondering, I wish someone would shack up with my stbx, get her to change her name and leave me alone
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 03:54 PM
10

The lies she told everyone that's ok you find out real quick who's in your corner
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 11:28 AM
5

If you're doing equal parenting time and you work 8am-430pm, you should have a shitload of free time, Im doing the same and I find I have more free time now than ive has since I was single in my early 20s.
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 01:43 AM
2

What's your work schedule?
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 01:29 AM
4

I think at one time marriage made sense but in our current world it absolutely doesn't anymore, shouldn't even be a thing anymore.
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 01:25 AM
1

Why would someone not want her child or children on the weekends, that's the way time to be a parent, she's weird for wanting that
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 01:23 AM
1

Yea I wouldn't do that, I'm currently doing 223 but it's not finalized yet, but I'm loving it. Get to see my daughter a lot, and my stbx can finally start pulling her weight she did NOTHING when we were married, idk why I ever put up with a woman who said oh you do the house work and you're so good with our daughter keep doing it all while I go nap every day for hours after work
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 01:22 AM
3

I second this, especially like Sunday nights when it's her weekend those are rough
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 12:45 AM
2

This is a perfect analogy, grab that life boat while you still can and get the fuck away
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 12:02 AM
5

Insane so similar, thank God tho towards the end I encouraged her to work part time instead of full time thank GOD her mom talked her out of that
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 12:00 AM
2

Then you set boundaries and you're now called "controlling" be she you don't want her mom showing up when you're not home and throwing away your stuff
/r/Divorce_Men23/09/23 09:51 PM
3

My questions is why is my stbx so mad, she refused to go to counseling she refused to keep trying she filed and she says she wants to take my daughter and screw me financially and she's still the one whose all mad meanwhile I'm just following what my lawyer says and being nice to her
/r/Divorce_Men23/09/23 07:51 PM
2

What are you symptoms mam, no taste no smell coughing and sleeping around lmfao
/r/Divorce_Men22/09/23 04:09 PM
2

Leave now no kids leave
/r/Divorce_Men22/09/23 04:08 PM
1

When was last time you had sex? she's divorcing you
/r/Divorce_Men22/09/23 10:20 AM
1

/r/Divorce_Men22/09/23 02:34 AM
1

That's ridiculous this shouldn't be legal for them to drag this shit out and bankrupt people
/r/Divorce_Men20/09/23 03:35 AM
1

Am I looking in a mirror Jesus the female narcissist Is a monster
/r/Divorce_Men20/09/23 03:22 AM

/r/Divorce_Men20/09/23 03:20 AM
2

My wife makes 25k more than me and wants her lawyer fees paid LOL
/r/Divorce_Men20/09/23 03:13 AM
1

Friday's and Saturdays are easy peasy, Sundays are awful in a quiet empty house
/r/Divorce_Men18/09/23 12:50 AM
2

I do this so much lol, his bit about telling his wife good news and she interruptes him to tell him he's being loud is so spot on it's painful.
/r/Divorce_Men18/09/23 12:50 AM
1

It seems the weight I lost 40 pounds has found it's way into her, I have the same problem
/r/Divorce_Men16/09/23 07:36 PM
1

I got my beautiful daughter for Halloween already checked the calendar, can't fucking wait, gonna do a father daughter matching outfits maybe Mickey and Minnie idk yet
/r/Divorce_Men16/09/23 06:01 PM

I'm only 30 so I figure I have some time to start over with someone new but, Has my back Loyal Makes good decisions Is self reflective Has the ability to argue and apologize correctly Someone who established a healthy adult mindset and lifestyle (stbx couldn't buy a phone without her parents approving of her decision) Not mentally Ill (stbx played constant nonstop gaslighting and control power games) This is a good one, has hobbies, if you can't find something that interests you besides napping …
/r/Divorce_Men16/09/23 05:38 PM
3

My dad did over and over and over again, both my parents did who are divorced as I'm sitting in the back of the chapel
/r/Divorce_Men14/09/23 12:22 AM

I think this is what's gonna happen to.me eat a lot of money to get 50/50 sadly I'd trade any amount of money for more with my daughter
/r/Divorce_Men11/09/23 03:05 AM
3

No but she got some karma today, she moved out a month ago divorce still pending and brought all her family with 4 pickup trucks today while I was out and she emptied the marital home of everything I saw on security cameras had the police meet me there and cops scolded them like children and they got lippy with cops and they made them put everything back and told her not to come back unless she has a court order.
/r/Divorce_Men11/09/23 02:14 AM
2

Dats a good one
/r/Divorce_Men06/09/23 08:44 AM

I'm still in the phase where I look at women and think theyre monsters just like my stbx
/r/Divorce_Men05/09/23 01:20 AM
2

I think mine might be gay tbh
/r/Divorce_Men04/09/23 06:14 PM
1

What helps for me is write it down in a letter never give it to them, tell someone you trust how you feel sometimes we just need to vent
/r/Divorce_Men04/09/23 12:37 AM
2

I said no, then she tried to get me to leave certain days etc, and I said no, finally she left lol stay strong don't even leave
/r/Divorce_Men04/09/23 12:34 AM
1

And run lol
/r/Divorce_Men31/08/23 02:32 AM
2

I've thought about this before but more about how I'm gonna tell her to F off, we broke up when we were dating years ago and she came begging back should have told her to f off then.
/r/Divorce_Men31/08/23 02:30 AM
5

Honestly if you told me it would cost 75k to see my daughter the majority of the time I'd say who do I write the check to
/r/Divorce_Men29/08/23 12:15 AM
33

THIS is 100% right, my wife would disagree with me and say I'm gonna tell my mom you're acting like this. Then immediately brought her mom into our marriage even cornering me with her mom questioning me why I have to pay estimated taxes every year, accused me of cheating taxes because the government makes me pay estimated taxes, I said this is called being self employed lol My wife HATED counseling because the counselor would agree with me every time because I'm sane.
/r/Divorce_Men29/08/23 12:12 AM
3

Yea what is that, my wife turned into a monster under the guise of "PTSD". Like I don't get it I'd never think to do half the shit to her that she has done to me.
/r/Divorce_Men29/08/23 12:09 AM
2

That's one thing I haven't missed for one second is her, I miss seeing my daughter everyday but seeing her being with her good riddance, toxic black hole
/r/Divorce_Men28/08/23 04:01 PM
11

Going through that right now, this all started two months ago and she was so confident and laughing at me how she's got all the power, now she moved out and living with mommy and is furious she has to still pay the bills lmao
/r/Divorce_Men28/08/23 09:08 AM
1

Mine tried all the games to get me out, didn't succeed within 45 days of filing she moved out lol
/r/Divorce_Men27/08/23 07:51 AM
3

I could have written this almost identical
/r/Divorce_Men24/08/23 10:50 AM
1

These are the kind of stories I come here for! Awesome stuff
/r/Divorce_Men23/08/23 12:53 AM
1

Is she still in their life?
/r/Divorce_Men23/08/23 12:52 AM
8

This is the best advice a therapist gave me, don't try to understand the motives of mentally ill people.
/r/Divorce_Men23/08/23 12:46 AM
2

Good for you man lol
/r/Divorce_Men22/08/23 07:37 PM
2

WOW, I got double pneumonia in both lungs could barely move without coughing up blood and she took my daughter and left for a week and let me rot by the end of it my mom came back from out of town and rushed me to ER, almost died and it took my dad shaming her and yelling at her so she'd even come to the hospital then told me I was being "dramatic" most narcissists show their true self when health is involved they can't stand anyone besides then getting attention.
/r/Divorce_Men22/08/23 07:27 PM
2

That is insane, I thought my stbx was crazy
/r/Divorce_Men20/08/23 11:11 PM
2

Yea no pros, stbx begged me to marry would guilt me every few months after we were together a few years about how I won't commit and won't propose finally did and it was the greatest thing that ever happened to her her magical day and she's the happiest person in the world flash forward two years and we're getting divorced.
/r/Divorce_Men20/08/23 09:37 PM
2

Same thing happened to me tried to get me out playing games grey rocked her ass and she just left lol
/r/Divorce_Men19/08/23 02:46 PM
1

The friend thing is a common narcissist tactic imo, like my stbx says oh were still a family it's a divorce not death, sick person
/r/Divorce_Men18/08/23 09:30 PM
2

No but I did lol lost 30 lbs
/r/Divorce_Men17/08/23 11:02 PM

/r/Divorce_Men16/08/23 12:27 PM

Call a lawyer ASAP
/r/Divorce_Men15/08/23 02:16 PM
3

I've often thought about what I'm gonna tell my daughter when she's older and her parents aren't married, I'm curious what others have said too
/r/Divorce_Men15/08/23 12:04 AM
8

I did this once with a ex girlfriend I'm now divorcing her lol never ever ever go back to an ex
/r/Divorce_Men14/08/23 11:57 PM
1

Welp I guess life could be worse lol
/r/Divorce_Men14/08/23 07:22 PM
4

Dude you have no idea, mine went as far as claimed she was gluten free and non dairy for YEARS went to multiple allergists who all told her she's not allergic to these things, she even went as far as forced everyone to eat a gluten free wedding cake at our wedding, she'd even have made up symptoms.
/r/Divorce_Men14/08/23 03:37 AM
2

Idk but I wish I was a fly on the wall when my soon to be ex tries to sell her engagement ring, she thought I paid big money for it only cost 1800 lol
/r/Divorce_Men14/08/23 02:51 AM
9

I gotta tell you I'm thinking the same thing went through our year of statements and I'm like she spent HOW MUCH in a year on nonsense from trader Joe's non dairy yogurts that cost 3 bucks each and she's not even allergic to dairy, dinner out multiple times a week, just blowing money on nonsense
/r/Divorce_Men14/08/23 02:44 AM

Awesome man good for you
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/23 01:30 PM
