I took partial responsibility. It takes two to tango. At one point she danced and I didn't and then at another point I danced and she didn't. I guess we didn't know when to dance together and eventually moved on. Im sure if you asked her she would say it's all my fault but who cares. I had my issues and I'm glad I'm clearing/cleared them up.

So sorry to hear. My mother wasn't against me but neither was she for me either. She later came around when she saw how my ex was treating me through the court system. Trust me there are better people out there. We just have to find them.

Bruh! Family? Don't even get me started. I have found more support and love from Reddit, church and the street by randome people walking up to me and saying something nice. Lol.

I get you. I already love my own company but eventually the silence becomes too much and I reach for the phone to call anyone who will pick up. Is it freedom or loneliness? That's a great question. I think in my case it's both. Freedom to be me and then loneliness because that's just the state I'm in. I know I get too attached to people so I pull away to protect myself but I'm slowly putting myself out there among others.

I'm 35 and in a similar position. Don't drink! It will lead down a bad path. I don't feel like 35 is too late to start over. I'm pumped that I can and I will. I met someone after and even if it was for a short time, it gave me hope that I can remarry again. Not anytime soon but one day. When one chapter ends another begins. So just look ahead. We got 5 more years until 40 and even then we still have more to go.

Hey bro, I'm going through this right now. I had both my kids daily until 2023. Then I had them from Thursday's to Sundays. Then out of the blue, all the stuff the mom did to me weighed me down and I lost time with them. Now I see them one or two weekends in the month and that's her being generous. Talk about bitter people. So the things I do now are: Work - i drive trucks so I'm gone most of the time. Driving keeps my mind at ease...mostly. Church - not all churches are the same but the one I g…

Sex and boredom. In the final months before she told me to leave she had trouble finding "fun". Sex was boring for her and she got it elsewhere. I tried to help her choose a hobby but I kid you not she said "I'm not like you who like to go to parks and walks and stuff, I find fun in going to parties". Yep.

Making money, going to church, talking to people who care and love me, seeing my kids.

I agree. It's the treat yourself once in a while that I have to plan out. Like this month, steak dinner for myself, next month...idk a whole game night or full body spa. Who knows but yeah I like the suggestions people have.

Thanks. I tend to have or get into expensive hobbies. So I need to tone it down a bit. If I do something I do it once and somehow I never get back to it. I guess it's all the chaos.

My dad funny enough was the one against it. I think he saw too much accidents with them.

That's what I can do right now lol but I'll keep at it. I often thought of golf and didn't know it was that affordable. I'll look into it but when I park my truck for the night I'm in some far off place usually far from a golf course that I might have to Uber to. I do know a few near where I used to live.

Thank you! That's the train of thought I had when writing this post. I thought that it can be both but it's hard to put everything into a schedule. I drive trucks so when I don't have the kids, which is every weekend, I drive and then back to kids. I really need to find the smaller things in life and do those.

It's kind of hard to go to the gym as I'm a truck driver. I try walking when I'm parked but sometimes there's no safe place to walk.

The side gig seems to be the way to go for me too lol. Really want to do some pampering and hopefully when I get my own place I can make it the way I want but those cost real big dollars. Not that I will spend unnecessarily but I'm broke from all this legal stuff and what not.

That sounds freeing! I need to think of more things to do that she didn't like me to do when I was with her.

Honestly, I was thinking about getting new clothes. However I need to loose a bit of weight first. Being a truck driver doesn't really help but I have started eating healthy.

I'm in a similar situation and for what I've done is on WhatsApp I archive her chat along with the third party we use to exchange kids. That way it doesn't ring my phone when she texts because it gives me anxiety. I choose when to see it. I also refuse to answer after 9 pm and I might move it earlier. So far that works somewhat.

It did everything you mentioned. I realized I am who I am and she wanted me to be a foot stool. So I've embraced everything I am. Of course there were some things that needed to change like my view on work/life balance. I would work tirelessly because I believed if I fell short then I'm not a man. That's a lie. And she worked too. Despite cheating on me behind my back I still took the issue I caused and fixed them...for me. I saw men and women as just people who chose to make certain mistakes th…

I second this. I dropped them off last night and they were not really happy about it and neither was I. But I hugged them and they ran off to play with their cousins. (Third party stuff) When I got back to my car I simply think about my rest and what plans I had today. Then I text my daughter which helps a bit and then off to bed. Your mind is powerful so fill it with good stuff so that you won't go down the deep end.

Yea I'm standing strong man. Recently was homeless due to all the stuff she did to me and now I'm asking to see the kids on the day I usually always had them, she complains that I should have sent the notice two days earlier. So she wants a week before she can allow me to see my kids on a day I always had them before I went homeless. I just laugh it off now and if I see them I see them if I don't I don't. I keep the messages and hope the judge sees my side clear. Stand strong indeed.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
