I woke up one day and reached for help at a breaking point. I realized home was not ok I also realized if my kids were living that life as adults I wouldn't be ok with it. So I had to change it After many years I believe we are getting told what to do.. soon?

Past 6 years. Next year ring time and seperation will be the same... Edit. 3 kids. Now all in school. No money worth mentioning to fight over. I left her the rental as i was only one with family to goto. That might have been a mistake somehow. Also wow I think the only one close to me here is 4 years. Lots of 1 year.

Thank you for seeing me. One of the unsaid things was that I ended up homeless last year. Should be changing soon but let's see if that makes a difference in court. May your days be fruitful and plentiful

We were renting. She wanted to be stay at home mom when our first kids were born. I work shift work and cannot get child care that rotates in the schedule of my work and kids... its not a good time. And even though I served her and still on mu first laywer I have had to restart with her new laywer many times over the years

I left and moved to my parrents as she had no immediate family nearby. This, combined with my continued working, is now being used against me. Try to do the right thing and get punished for it. But i bet if I tried to kick her out I would be much worse

My ex is not a fan of me either. I suspect my kids have simular problems at her house. But I always tell them I love them. And if they are safe and happy then whatever is going on is OK with me. My bio dad freaked out over the dad name. My kids can do what they feel most comfortable doing. Those moments and hugs are precious

Hey thats awsome! I know that if I make sure I snag a hug from someone each day that helps. Helps if someone else is around tho lol

This is the right place. Did you want to join us or do you have suggestions or ideas or ways to turn things around? Lol I could use that...

I am sorry to hear your pain. As someone who would prefer to help others then have them join my pain, I am sorry you are here But if we can help in any way, we get it. Far better then we like

It's been almost 6 years I would like to throw a party. I can spend Pocket lint and I have a small snack collection from the couch!

Everyone has their own demons. I respect you for looking for ways yo help If you have had this as a serious thought, please do use the mental health options near you For basic plain grounding, my thought is that my kids need me. I cannot let them down by allowing myself to bottom out permanently Now at the same time I am reduced to couch surfing at this time. So I understand the pain/frustreation/overwhelming of it all. Almost at 6 years and still not free of the ring.... Keep breathing. The kid…

Been 5.5years since I left and her layer is finally moving along with it My layer estimated from 40-100k (canadian) Not a clue where that's gonna come from. Just skip rent for a while I guess

I reread my comment and I can see how you assumed gender. When I had to make my choice it involved my kids - 2 boys and a girl. So I agree. No need for gender bias

Just be sure to keep showing them how a woman deserves to be treated, with how you treat them and their mom

As the end grew near i was mourning before I realized it. I guess my subconscious knew where things were going before I did. A week before I left (after an argument) I knew it was time. So that final week was wierd. But somehow when I left she didn't see it coming. And never properly talked since. Mostly just yelling. Now it's only about the kids. And in text to avoid emotions.

Mine wouldn't mind if I disappeared from the planet. Couldn't push me under the bus for legal reasons but I suspect she wouldn't mind. She feels scorned. And I would be happier if she moved on in life (yeah but I know her...)

I insist the kids make something for their mom on her bday/mom's day. It is important they learn respect I also know she doesn't want anything that came from me so that means they have to get crafty. Kinda bonus for the respect session as well

Laywer to protect your rights with the kids Therapist or cou counseling for sure. That way when you give it true they can tell you who was crazy (it reveals who was wrong. But be fully honest) Good luck!
/r/Divorce_Men02/07/24 09:47 AM

Just be good and true. True to your child, and true to the right thing to do. Write everything down on a notebook with dates. Keep everything documented. It sucks but proof of behavior is a he'll of a thing. Good luck. I am here with you

Currently doing an exchange mon wed and Friday. I don't like it myself but the ex won't agree on a change. But the idea of 50/50 just means you legally are equal parrents. How you two work it out is up to you

A computer. My ex treated anything digital worse then slutty women. Took my a few years to study out and return to things I love

Once you develop yourself into a more whole person it tends to lead towards a better life. Better is defined by the person but with the right attitude anything can happen

Honestly. Find yourself. You are not we. You are just you Be yourself. Learn yourself - heck date yourself. Become a bigger person. Then watch out because you will find you are not alone

As things were deterating in our marriage, I told my wife we had a communication issue and should get help She told me we didn't have a problem Well we are in the divorce process now....

I started councillong and antidepressants near the end before I left. It wasn't easy at first but I can guarantee it helps to have the mental stability as well as an outside person to hear you - works best if you are fully honest about yourself too But talk to your doctor. It's worth it - so you can be the dad you want to be

Just keep telling them you love them, and it isn't about them it is between you two. As a child of, and now a parent to divorce, I can say one thing I took away from my childhood is always assume they will remember. So do what's right so they remember how things should be

The 15th makes 3 years since I took the kids and left There is hope. I will be honest I was already morning my marriage before I left. That put me in an easier mental starting spot But in that time I have reunited with someone from my youth who I am currently enjoying my time with. One of the hardest parts is going from us to I. Finding yourself is not easy, but I believe one of the healthier ways to move forward.

When I realized I was already mourning my marriage . Then I stepped back, took another look And then she tried to pull a stupid lower move, and a week later I was out with the kids. And I knew that door was a one way trip

Try to avoid in person conversations and keep it to text or email That removes all emotion except what we read out of jt It had helped me, and I have had people read her messages to help me remove my emotion from her message

Sorry it didn't work for you. With my x things died before I left. I hope you find the peace and happiness that is available to you! And for any guys that respond to you to be a decent human being lol

I feel you! When marriage councelling was ever mentioned she claimed she would rather a divorce. Funny she wanted councelling then.... Be strong. Her gaslighting arguments is not your fault
