Would you consider seeing any male therapist, ones that don't specialise in SA? Or even general therapists, none of them were male therapists?

Yep, I remember when my grandmother died, my mom and aunt and sister and one of my cousin (female cousin) was pissed at him for remarrying because he promised her he wouldn't. But she was on her death bed, I'm so glad he made her feel good in her last moments and I'm so happy he moved on because I already lost my grandmother, I didn't want my grandfather to die too. And if he never found another partner, he'd be far more likely to pass far sooner. I don't get why they didn't understand any of th…

And men are less likely to go to the doctors.....they really don't give a shit about men, disincentivizing men to go to the doctors even more.

I usually dont name it. I just state my views and opinions. People are pretty averse to the term MRA and some assume that means you hate women or wish malice on women. Why name it when people will shut their ears as soon as they hear names like MRA or Egalatarian or any variation of that? I also like to make sure people know Im truly am thinking of fairness and justice and balance everything I say or else they dont give a shit about when I bring up mens issues.

If its not for safety its not necessary and a dumb rule and if its for safety, then everyone should have to not just men.

Why did the doctor even ask the mother? The mother should have never been asked and the mother either should have said absolutley not and dismissed herself out of the room and her daughter for her sons right to privacy and decency or turned to her son and asked him. Although the question should have never been posed to the mother in first place. The doctor either should have told the mother and daughter to get out or ask his actual patient if he was comfortable with them there.

Sounds like she was a victim of the crime, he just wasnt the one who did it. Police have got to do a better job. Theyre supposed to need hard evidence right? So how do they keep doing this shit. This isnt acceptable and this isnt justice. He may have not gotten 99 years, but he lost hundreds of thousabds of dollars and Im sure he gained a ton of anxiety and stress.

55% compared to 48% too though? Theyre fairly comparable numbers. Regardless if theres a statrical differenc eor not the bigger issue clearly is that It seems like about half of everyone regardless feels their pain is ignored by docs. Looks like there just a general problem with docs ignoring pain for everyone.

If you kill someone, even under the influence of drugs or alcohol, its still manslaughter. Why isnt she being charged for the crime she committed. Why is it all of a sudden not her fault? She committed a crime and a very serious one too like this isnt pety theft or a traffic infraction, her being under the influence may contribute to a lighter sentence but there should still be a sentence. The fact that she got no jail time is crazy. She really got a slap on the wrist for killing someone. Im not…

So I skimmed the first part and why are they counting boys under the age of consent? 10-15 year olds cannot even consent to sex, so how on earth are they a perpetrator?
/r/MensRights11/01/24 12:57 AM
1

Age of consent in the UK is 16, so do they mean 16 and 17 year olds? Those are the only group of under 18s even capable of performing that crime because again consent starts at 16 and under that, they were the ones who were violated according to consent laws, but can one be SAed and SA at the same time (because the UK is a bunch of idiots and only classifies it as rape if the perpetrator penetrates or the victims was penetrated)? Or do consent laws not apply to boys? I have so many questions.

Well men can actually get breast cancer too, 1 in 1000, a got bit on the rarer side, but it happens. But yeah I agree, there should a lot more outreach and awareness for prostate cancer and more funding.

Husband? If your husband cant afford it, then that means your whole famil isnt going, youre not going either, if your husband cant afford it, you cant either. People forget marriage is a legal contract, there is no individuals money, it belongs to both. They only seem to conviently remember this when its the man making more for some reason.

I was blessed to have three male teachers in primary school. One was a PE tecaher, another Year 4 and the last year 5. School was a lot more comfortable because there were some male teachers. All kids deserve to have male role models at such a tender age. Its a shame that so many kids dont have that.

How do you get upset at the young child for doing what young kids do: be curious. Be upset at that idiots who designed bathrooms without considering proper privacy. A kid shouldnt be capable of peering in, its not the kids fault, its bad design.

Cervical screening does look at the cells, sometimes a HPV test is also done in addition and the reason they dont screen men is because afaik its not been tested on those sites (ie. Throat, penis, anus) so the testing of those sites isnt studied for accuracy of how well the test is at detecting the virus in those areas. They could, but they dont.

If a man is forced to have sex, that is rape. I dont understand why they would claim its anything but rape when its as literally rape as the definition gets.

Well actually the highly trained people DO make mistakes and quite frankly you can find a mistake in any "scientifically sound" study. The fact that so many studies are being re done and either the opposite was found or no conclusion was found proves this. I'm not saying that this particular article is completely ludicrous however it is incorrect to say it's 100% fact and can't be criticized. I mean that's moving in religious territory. There are ways they could have improved this study and ther…

I would definitely think seeing more patients would decrease each patient's chance because the doctor is over worked. If that wasn't accounted for then that could be why there's that gap there.

I would say the consequence of false accusation and false conviction of rape for a man is nearly identical minus conviction actually including jail time. That's why it's so dangerous in my opinion to print the name of the accused of rape anywhere. Men accused of rape should be treated like the victims who come forth because it's incredibly damaging, life destroying, life altering if the accusation is false.
/r/MensRights26/12/16 08:19 PM

But the thing is you don't know if they're a rape victim or not, unless you have the evidence you don't know, and that's the issue.

There's no reason for women to be attracted to other women other than a mis firing or something wrong happening in the brain. There is reason for women to be attracted to men, to make it easier to create the next generation. Nature favors women feeling attracted to men but only tolerates women feeling attracted to other women because it doesn't create the next generation.

Kids need two parents, to intentionally bring a child up with only one parent is a very selfish thing to do. I don't care how much you want a child, there's no need for more children to be born, so you can't even make that as an excuse. This is unjustifiable. All children on today's world should be brought up in two parent households and be free of life threatening hereditary diseases. We have too many people on this planet, there's no need for all of this.

Not sure what your friend expects, we're a sexual species. Our main concern is to reproduce and the way to do that is to have sex, preferably with the best mate to create the best offspring. This goes for guys AND girls though.

If you actually know anything about stats data you'd know that 2010 is actually quite recent, a lot of good studies on certain things that are still considered relevant date back to the 1970s and sometimes quite a while earlier than that.

It should really only be seen as a last ditch effort to save the human race is the human race does decline that low where only a few women are saved and all of the men have died. Most women can't live without men, not emotionally. Most men and women have a need for the other sex regardless if they want to admit or not, it's basic biological instinct, you can't outrun or out think.

It sounds like you're talking about two different things here, but anyways they can both be answered by this: it's ignorance, a lot of people lack the education needed to actually grasp how genetics, reproduction and the growth of the fetus actually works and happens.

What about those that are mature enough and aren't childish? I always believed the age of consent should be 13 because you are no longer a child once you turn 13, sure you're an adult yet, but you have sexual desires and you should be able to fill them without forcing someone to commit a crime.

Most male rapists know it's wrong to rape people, hence why they go to extreme measures to hide it and hence why they feel disgusted of themselves. Why teach someone that rape is wrong when they already know that?
/r/MensRights24/06/16 10:51 PM

Because it doesn't work and plus that assumes that all men at least think about raping people, most men don't and it also excludes female rapists.

It's definitely annoying in the very least when they do that, if you're going to name the sex of one, name the sex of all of them or else mention no ones sex. This is because sex now seems like an important detail and I want to know the sex of the teen now and now I have to read the full article which may not even give me the answer I'm looking for.

It's evidence of a growing and healthy mind, sure they're think very black and white at this stage but the coming to understand differences and what those differences are and where they fit. Sure the child can be corrected because it is very black and white and over simplified but I don't think it should be discouraged because it's them trying to figure the world out and I think by discouraging it you are indirectly telling them that learning is not ok.

All children of around 4 years of age are very critical of other people's gender, it's just boys, it's girls as well.
/r/MensRights22/06/16 06:49 AM

XD So basically you have on your hands a well functioning child who understands what gender is, understands their own gender and wants to make their identity known? You know basic growing 4-year-old shit, the signs of a healthy child and their growing and healthy mind. Only goes to show how we actually are different and we didn't just make all of this shit up.

And females have clits (essentially left overs from what's supposed to be a penis). A lot of people seem to forget this when they bring up that men have nipples, you could just as easily argue that women are defective men in that case. Of course neither sex is defective, that's a stupid statement, sure each sex has a remnant of the other but so what?
/r/MensRights21/06/16 08:22 AM

Because idiots believe all templates for babies are girls when in reality we all start with this weird unisex body and both differentiate into their sex at the same time. Both male and female fetuses change, it's just males, male fetuses were never female, huge misconception and I don't even understand where it came from. Also has to do with the idea that autism is just a masculinised brain and some people claim that the male brain is just an autistic female brain.

Still really bad stuff, it's classical sexism. I don't see how you can brush those things to the side and say feminism isn't bad in your country when those things are in place.
/r/MensRights19/06/16 11:48 AM
1

Nope, feminism in Britain is also pretty bad and in some respects actually worse, sure feminism in certain places are fine, but radical feminists infect more countries than just America, I live in a British Overseas Territory and radical feminism is here, albeit it's not as bad but that's because it's a majority black country and people here tend to question modern things in general in favor of tradition.

The child is innocent I agree that they shouldn't get treated like illegal immigrants but not so sure about citizenship, but as for illegal immigrants who came to the US on their own, they committed a crime, why should they be let off the hook for committing a crime, I mean I understand being merciful and helping and maybe even giving citizenship to those came to the US by force, against their will, but if not sorry you've committed a crime, you deserve no mercy. Nope running is never an indication of guilt, plenty of people run from a scene if they think they'll be charged whether their innocent or guilty. Plenty of innocent people run from suspicious scenes because they're scared of authority because authority can be assholes too.

Well first of all she wasn't raped if anything she was sexually assaulted and no one actually knows if she consented or not so it may not even be sexual assault, you are responsible for the decisions you make while drunk, that goes for both of them, if she didn't consent and a reasonable person was aware that she didn't then he sexually assaulted her but if not, there was no crime.

Women almost always get arrested for stealing? Do you mean that that most people arrested for stealing are women or that women who do steal almost always get arrested for it? Because the former isn't true and I the latter does seem to be true but I don't have any stats to prove for or against that.

Girls at my middle school did this as well but it wasn't to prevent sexual harassment, it was to prevent indecent exposure of themselves because girls are taught it's improper if people see your underwear or high thighs and because they just found skirts uncomfortable. Skirts were part of the uniform so they didn't have a pants option, next best thing was wear shorts under the skirt.

Most people would run from an innocent situation while drunk because you can't think rationally when you're drunk and to a drunk person, fleeing is a good idea if someone is coming toward you. Him fleeing when he was confronted is just proof that he was drunk not that he was guilty, it says nothing about his guilt.

I mean technically it wasn't rape, it was sexual assault, for a rape to have happened, sexual intercourse had to have happened, it didn't, fingering is not sexual intercourse. And honestly it is partially her fault for being so careless because she thought she was too old for anything bad to happen to her. There are several factors contributing to it, but I think one that's not mentioned a lot is that people are misinformed on what FGM is. Most people think it's the complete removal of the female sexual organ and the whole that is left is closed, this is a form of FGM yes, but it's the most extreme form of FGM. FGM includes only the removal of the clitoral hood as well. MGM can also be far more extreme that what people traditionally think of, the removal of the foreskin. Another think people don't…

I think this issue is more complex than a bias in favor of the mother, as they are unfairly blaming him for the incident, considering he wasn't even there, it's incredibly unfair to put the blame on him. The mother is also not at fault in my opinion because parents in general make mistakes all of the time and she was watching four other or four in total children. Here's a study that looks at single mother, single father and married couples raising children in relation to alcohol and drug abuse, it was shown that the child has the best outcomes from married couples. http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/summary?doi=10.1.1.417.4212 On the academic search engine I searched on, I couldn't find anymore studies looking at single father homes versus single mother homes although there were a lot of studies on single mother homes. I honestly don't think most people would be disgusted. I've talked to some people about these sort of things and they seem to have no outrage and think it's justified. Recently a female teacher stabbed a male student in his hand, she was aiming for his neck to kill him and most of the responses to this was well it had to have been justified, she was probably a small woman and the student was a teenage boy, oh those scary teenage boys, she was probably intimated, she was probably fearing for her …

I think they may be referencing the story of this teenage boy who was raped by this lady and now has to pay child support for the rape baby. I mean it should be a right, not necessarily raped because you can't control others actions but not then forced to dish out your money.

The mother has no right to a partner to raise the child with, if she wants the child by all means she can but it's not fair to force someone else to do something that's a huge burden on their life and something they haven't consented to, in fact outright rejected. This she has no right to, or at least she shouldn't.

I mean they're not the worst of the worst as in they're not non-athletes who knows nothing about the sport, they obviously play and made the team, but there's nothing more bottom of the barrel quality than children who are just attempting at working on their skill, they may have played when they were young, but they don't really start skill until later. If anyone has seen a child play compared to an adult you know they have a lot to improve on even if you see a lot of potential.

skewed data? I mean sure football (soccer) IS a male sport, created by men, rules made by men, but how on Earth is it in favor of men? The task is simple get as many goals in the opposing teams goal as possible and block the other team from scoring a goal in your goal (as well as your team members because some people aren't too sharp and score in their own goal). If anything the rules favor women because it's about team work and communication which are typically seen as things that women are bet…

I mean this is great news for lesbians, hopefully a similar thing can be done for gay men ASAP. Not sure what this person's going on about "Men are now on notice". No other woman but a woman in a gay relationship is going to want a child with a woman for the most part, most women, like most men want a child through the good olde traditional route of sex.

With two guys having a child they would have to make sure that at least one sperm is a X because I think two Ys may cause a genetic disability. Also not sure how safe eptopic pregnancy is because in women it's deadly so I would assume it would also be deadly in men unless we were to find some way around that.

I don't see how any of this isn't and shouldn't be illegal. If a woman is drinking or smoking or taking drugs while pregnant (unless those drugs are safe and prescribed by their doctor) that's child abuse and there should be a legal consequence for that. By trans men do you mean people who were born with penises or with vaginas? I'll assume penises because that's who I know the argument is presented. I agree though, it's anti-straight male. Also I think you're confusing women's rights with feminism, feminism isn't about women's rights anymore, I am for women's rights, and I am for men's rights. These two are not mutually exclusive, but the feminism we dislike is the feminism that produced the Duluth model and things like it because the Duluth model is anti-men's right.
/r/MensRights10/05/16 11:29 PM

I mean they could be, all a feminist is is an advocate for women's rights and advocating for women's rights and advocating for the genocide of men are not mutually exclusive. Sure some feminists genuinely believe in equality, but feminism was never about equality, at it's purest and kindest and most loving roots, it's a movement for women's rights (aka not equality), but it gets vile and the vile side of feminism are the stereotypes, the side are the man-haters, the people that ridicule stay at home moms, the people that believe that women inherently love only women, the people that are authoritarian and have bred SJW.

If bigger brains didn't mean more intelligence then why did human evolution follow the development of bigger brains to the point it kills women to give birth? Lots of reasons. Women generally focus on other things besides their careers and if you don't put 100% in only your career you won't get to the top, men tend to put this effort into solely their career. Women tend to not fight for higher positions (as well as higher pay) whereas generally men do. And honestly a lot of women don't care about a career, they'd rather exploit men for that money, I've heard this advise from older women to younger women to marry a rich man many, many times.

Before we were human and before we had sex there was no such thing as male or female no organism at the time was male or female, and then the two types of sexes emerged so essentially men and women came about the exact same time.

Why is prostitution, buying or selling illegal is the real question. The problem is human trafficking and exploitation. Great name call your opponents why don't you. Even though it doesn't make your argument valid.... They can name call all they want they, it just makes them sound like whiny little children because that is what whiny little children do, they name call people because they don't have a better argument and if they do they don't know how to articulate it well enough so they default to name calling.

As long as you aren't doing anything illegal, like fighting a random person who was doing their own thing or starting the fight, there's nothing wrong with fighting. You shouldn't feel shamed for enjoying it, however since you do seem to get in fights that sound like they are illegal I suggest you become a amateur fighter.

"Porn makes you sexist" They say. "Porn is a negative addiction" they say. "Porn reinforces the idea that women are less than men" they say. "Porn is patriarchy" they say. I swear even well informed people I know hold this insane view that people who watch porn are more sexist than those who don't or that porn causes you to be more sexist. Porn has actually opened my eyes to a lot of things, it's actually allowed me and taught me to be more open minded.

Well I'm trans so my sex is female but not sure if you would count me. I'll answer your questions anyway. I wouldn't say I'm an MRA just because I'm not an activist, I don't really do anything to help progress the movement but I do support it and I would say I've been doing this since I found the movement 9 or so months ago. I don't have a favorite MRA, there are MRAs that I think deliver their points well though. I was never a feminist and in fact I've been fighting feminism my whole life (or f…

The reason men are tested is because men don't have monthly cycles and so the data is more accurate when the people taking it are men because the complication of hormone cycles is eliminated. With hormone cycles in the mix there is a possibility that it's not the drug causing the complications but the cycle and the cycle adds so many factors that just complicate things. It's not about sexism, it's about how to best get the answers they did the easiest of ways. This is probably just a trial to ma…

Um what? Menstruating is not traumatic neither is it painful in the least. Cramps and bloating and all other symptoms of menstruating a lot of the times are all in your head, they get worse if you acknowledge them. I do know this because I've had periods and I know women are vastly exaggerating them and I'm tried of the BS lies. If a woman cannot work on her period she is unfit for her job, simple as that, sure it seems very misogynistic but a period is lousy excuse for privileges.

I completely disagree, if you compare this subreddit to others it is evident that we do have discourse. The beauty of this subreddit is that we ARE able to talk about issues and discuss them without people just ignoring each other. Sure some people aren't nice about it but I mean such as life. This subreddit is one of the few subreddits that do have debates. We all have extremely different viewpoints and we don't allow those differences to hate one another. Someone doesn't know what atheism is..... Here's a clue, it has nothing to do with justice or human rights. You know hence why these topics aren't addressed unless used in an argument against religion. Except feminism has caused harm, it may not have been pro-war but it advocates for the suffering of men. It may fight for women's rights but it does in such a way that it harms both women and men. Having a surgery for no reason is very different from doing something beneficial to your health. Would we allow any other non-medical surgery because a parent wants their baby/child/minor to have it?
/r/MensRights23/01/16 01:25 AM

Obviously very different. Vaccines are different from circumcisions, there is a medical reason to get vaccinated for almost everyone, there is none for circumcision, at least not for almost everyone.

Oh ok, so maybe the men I knew were outliers.
/r/MensRights22/01/16 09:52 PM

If it is on the same league as FGM or not is irrelevant. It's an unnecessary surgical procedure (when done for non-medical reasons), which would be fine if it was done to fully consenting adults but it's unacceptable to allow a baby or child to go through a surgery if it's unneeded.
/r/MensRights22/01/16 01:44 PM

It's still a legal practice none the less. The British men I do know (of which I also know if their circumcised or not) are all circumcised so I think when people say it's not a big thing in Europe they mean it's not a big thing in Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Italy, France etc. excluding the UK. I may be wrong, I might just know a lot of circumcised men which may be disproportional for the UK.

If they're going by that law, which I believe was recent so they probably aren't, yes it's skewed. However it probably is skewed because they're probably going by the feminist narrative which over accounts the rapes of women and under accounts the rapes of men. In the 1 in 5 stat, there were people who said they were not raped and they were counted as part of the people who were. I'm glad to see they at the very least acknowledged a male rape victim is possible.
