I just took a 200k haircut marrying the wrong one. Why would i risk another 200k to do it all again ?

second this! Set your boundary that once your support is done you are on your own path. Be the a hole so she will disappear.

gator arms = chubby because the GLP ate her muscle. yes, she’s less cocky than before. Less like a god and more like a human.
/r/Divorce_Men25/05/26 02:26 PM

Once the divorce was final with my ex the GLP-1 got to her head and she thought she was better than me. One year later I saw her and she gained even more weight. It definitely makes them feel like a God until they’re off it and back to gator arms

Boundaries are not unreasonable. Without boundaries you are miserable.

At least your son has your back. That happened to my old coworker too. It was him and his older brother and sister seeing the mother do that to their father. They told the courts that they want to move in with Dad and dont like Mom. Congrats on overcoming this BS

They all come back when the money disappears and the new guy dumps her. Leave her for the streets and move on brother. I know it’s painful but you gotta stand tall and move on.

Do it. You will realize that you can eat anywhere you want without a side comment . That hotel your staying at just works for you .
/r/Divorce_Men14/04/26 06:29 PM

And he will still go out and marry her and lose even more money. Some people just like to suffer endlessly
/r/Divorce_Men14/04/26 05:45 PM

This 100%. The courts will give you a haircut financially , but once it’s done you get your identity back. You also get a peaceful home. These are worth more than staying in a bad marriage while having high assets on paper.

if he burned through 2 million in legal fees and is asking your opinion on your ex then he didn’t get a good lesson from his divorce

after divorce anyone not willing to deal with your no marriage rules walks away with you then let them. you’ve saved at least 100k´from her walking away

Even the female judge granting my expedited divorce told me “I hope you learned your lesson and I hope to never see you in my court room again. Getting married in this day and age is not worth this hassle”

Mine monkey branches too. Slightly younger guy and better looking than me. 2 months later of dealing with her he’s filing for divorce on her. Now she is back to living at her mother’s place with health issues. I think she was trying to take ozempic even though she’s already skinny. The end

I used to go to a heated yoga studio and some of the instructors had a cult leader vibe to them. I left after a while. So I get where you’re coming from. I’ve had my photograph taken a few times at restaurants and stores. One time I caught a girl in the act of taking my picture. I turned my head when she snapped the photo then she grabbed her bag and ran for her life. I know I’m below average when it comes to looks, so why snap my photo and run ? No vendettas against me. The people who deeply loathe me have been dead for years. It’s behavior thats definitely creepy especially since I keep to myself.
/r/Divorce_Men19/01/26 10:42 AM

It’s definitely that. I have guy friends who have their wives preventing me from seeing them because I rose from the ashes like a Phoenix. Rightfully so, I get it. To hear how to deal with the pain of loss and get through it would corrupt some guy friends of mine. All I have left is my best friend and his wife. She’s known me since I was 20 and she’s a unicorn. The other friends wives even though they are my circle and I don’t have kids don’t want me corrupting their husbands minds.

Same here. She would just buy crap. Fill up the fridge then throw it away two weeks later. At least let me blow that money on sports bettings. Kidding of course. When we were together 2k was the minimum food budget. Now that I live on my own and cook from home I’m at 500. How the heck is she that inefficient ? Never mind

You are correct sir. Focus on keeping the house clean and in tip top shape. That shuts up the inner demons we have. You do it so often that internal demons will be muted. Don’t just find hobbies. Find a passion that you can keep working on religiously. This shuts up the demons of doubt. Once you get past that wall the urge to see if you’re a catch ends.

Talk to an attorney and they can guide you with that. My marriage was sexless after a year and a few months. It felt like I was baby sitting a child so I get where you are coming from. She had the audacity to tell me to sell my gun collection so we can move overseas. That’s when I knew I had to prep for my divorce. My gun collection and video game collection is more important than her. I worked out a split contract where she took half the savings got nothing out of the 401k. Yes I’m financially …

She’s like my ex. Run ! End the relationship. She wants to control the entire relationship. She will only want her family in the foreground not your family. She can’t afford things on her own that’s why she’s leeching off of you. Get out ASAP!
/r/Divorce_Men29/12/25 10:33 PM

The best strategy is to not marry or cohabitate. She can’t live on her own because she can’t function as an adult. You have to realize that they run on the brain of a 15 year old because that’s all they got. The moment the wrinkles and grey pubes come in is when reality bites them. They’re too dense to learn from their mistakes.
/r/Divorce_Men29/12/25 10:31 PM

Were you her first husband at least ?
/r/Divorce_Men29/12/25 10:28 PM

Oh yea TikTok is cancer for marriage. I saw the stuff my Ex Wife was watching and it was basically saying making 6 figures and keeping the family secure is “bare minimum”. He needs to be more available. I’m sorry if you are making any 6 figure job there is no more 40 hour week and you have to accept that. These dating coach / relationship roaches are destroying families. I’m glad I didn’t have kids with my ex because explaining to them that Mom is a loser is going to be difficult
/r/Divorce_Men28/12/25 06:00 PM

when she’s down and out you block communication too. Hell if she’s asking for you on her deathbed you leave her on “read”. I know it’s mean but she needs to feel the burn too.

get it finalized and use no contact. Mine was trying to come back after the new husband is trying to divorce her. She’s out of options. This is payback for the pain she caused. Fight back.

You can’t avoid crap wives like that all you can hope is they burn through the settlement money and cry broke on social media. Trust me when the lump sum is gone they look sad as hell. When they realize where they rank in the current dating market they have regrets

Oh yes. Many are looking for a retirement plan. Ma’am that ship has sailed a long time ago. Like other posters have said go out to public events, get hobbies, do things. The people you meet there have something going on in their lives. The ones on the apps are there looking to land a retirement plan with zero to offer.

If 200-360 dollars is too much think about all the crappy dates and phone calls you spend with civilians. It’s cheap. Civilians aren’t even good at it and on top of that you get more drama than pleasure

I make just a little less than you and no kids. Your wife sounds like my ex. She says “Making 160k and working 10 hour days is the “bare minimum”. “ I need to do cleaning, chores, groceries, and go out with her every night even though I’m mentally bogged down at work already. I couldn’t take the disrespect so I initiated the divorce. Now that she’s living on her own and renting a room from someone she’s realizing the depth of her errors. Same here. Started working on House Music and Hip Hop projects in my ableton sessions. The ex made me beg for 30 minutes of music time a month while I had to attend to her every need before and after work. I’d rather do random hookups and pros and stay in the studio than deal with her

She’ll never admit it brother . The best thing you can do is move on and live the best life you can. Once the gravy train has ended and these women have to work on their own and split the bills 50/50 with her dream guy is when reality slaps her in the face. Be your best while she crumbles like an old statue

It’s painful but just start the process and let her go. Give it 9 months after the divorce and she will come running because her plan backfired. She thinks she’s still 29. She’s not. The dating market is really bad for her once she starts the apps.

I just went on a date with a girl who had main character syndrome. She had the nerve to call our first date and boring. Then she proposed that I “win her back “ . I blocked her number at that point. If you need someone to win you back after the first date then you will be single and miserable for the rest of your life

I’m in a similar situation. I understand . I got 14 months left before I can kick her out. It was a way to save my 401k though so I gotta do what I gotta do.

There was also a reference in The Sopranos that “Tony is like a dog with two bones, but still wants what you have” . Something to that effect

Yes he probably meant his buddy and wife came over to hang out and she left her purse. Any delusional woman will think that he’s sleeping around. So good for him to give her a taste of her medicine. Ex’s think that a man’s world stops after the divorce. It doesn’t. That’s the universe slapping them in the face without a DV charge
/r/Divorce_Men04/12/25 07:38 PM

This. It gets better like he said. There will be some days you feel like crap because it reminds you of her. Eventually you will get over it. The main thing is don’t drink or use drugs to kill the pain. You will need to face it head on in order to move on with your life.
/r/Divorce_Men04/12/25 05:13 PM
9

Then yes. You are stuck with dealing with her. The best ammunition is to live the best life you can. I’m sure she’s realized that she played stupid games and got the stupid prize. Your job is to keep progressing while she’s stuck in a rut.
/r/Divorce_Men04/12/25 04:11 PM

Do you have kids to share custody with ? If not you can block her now and move on with your life. You will start to notice that many new women you date will be marginally better than your ex. That’s fine you just can’t let her peep into your life if there are no kids involved.

“You thought you could do better than me and now you’re with a forklift driver who’s trying to divorce you. Just wait for the decree to be signed and then you’re free. Mine was taunting me before the decree was signed. Now that everything’s been signed and she is in a failed marriage which is headed for a divorce, I’m insulting her left and right when she tried to ask for help today. She walked out of the call crying. Feels good man

I think its your mannerisms that you’re used to when being around your wife. You do it unconsciously. It‘s to the point that your mannerisms hold more weight than wearing your wedding band. im sure that once you stop doing those mannerisms the charm will wear out to them.

I’m an introvert. Women know if you’ve been divorced . They will come to you automatically because they are looking for a meal ticket. Be careful out there
/r/Divorce_Men01/12/25 08:32 PM

Get that divorce process started . I was in your position a year ago. The Ex was also emotionally abusive even though I’m the breadwinner and she was useless. Today I found out she got arrested and got her phones confiscated to do phone banking. She and her mother are asking me to wire money to help her since she is now homeless . Guess what I did? I uninstalled WhatsApp and now the problem is solved. She thought she could do better and she’ll probably get deported from England soon and be stuck…

Mine lost the weight and had the new guy ready. Now the new guy keeps filing police reports on her because she keeps making false accusations against him. I agree with what the gentleman said here. You’ve made reasonable accommodations and she keeps screwing up. It’s time to cut your losses. If you don’t cut your losses then your sex drive will come to a halt. That’s how depressing many bad marriages can turn into.
/r/Divorce_Men20/11/25 10:02 PM

“Your company is exploiting you by asking you to work more than 8 hours a day” I’m a senior manager in my company make great money. Her new guy is a forklift driver barely making 39k, but he works exactly a 8 hour day. She hasn’t gotten the rude awakening just yet, but it’s coming.

I think once you get the “peace” it’s the better value. Recall all the times she made your workday chaotic. She’s raised under chaos. You aren’t. She doesn’t realize that a healthy marriage is a boring one because all the gears are moving in synchronous. She can’t stand that. She’s used to getting beat. It’s a horrible cycle. The best thing you can do is be a strong male role model for your daughter so she doesn’t end up like her mother. Give it a year or two and your ex will try to squeeze her way back in. That’s the time you let her know that you’re not interested. Now is the time for you to heal an…

I think it was the wealth but trust me you’ll get it back. Mine was a micromanager who did not work but wanted her input in things like water filters we buy. My sanity was worth more. She used to bother me over stupid decisions that I told her we should discuss the night before but she says her head hurts thinking about it . For someone so able bodied and university educated she was so useless. It’s been month 2 and I got my identity back. I can work from home I peace. I can scalp trades in the …

Bingo . When the new toy high fades and it’s a quiet room the demons will come out and she will seek chaos with the new guy.

Part of my legal agreement to lower the cost of the divorce and not use lawyers was my wife agreed to not ask for more than 50% if I can have her stay over the house for the next 18 months and she can get free food while staying at the house. Recently my ex did what yours was doing and I told her to stop contacting me unless it pertains needing to stay a the house within the 18 month agreed upon period or it’s paperwork she needs post divorce to deal with her new husband. She’s actually listened…

exactly. Clean break. She can use it to guilt trip you in helping her out later. Stay strong brothers. Yes it hurts, but this was my first check after being divorced for one month where I had a savings of 2000 dollars. I’d rather have the peace and an extra 2k a month than deal with my ex‘s drama for intimacy.

We divorced amicably but she’s trying to humble brag. She’s monkey branching to the next guy right after our divorce two weeks ago. That doesn’t bother me. She’s so adamant about leaving the US for life in Bournemouth, England. I get it that things are less over there but so are the wages and the job growth. Looks like she’s going to learn about nominal wages vs real wages soon. She got away with not working here because I did well. The new husband is not doing that well and soon she will have t…

I’m having a similar day today especially after the ex just sent me her new wedding pictures for today. Get DNA proof that it’s not your child. Stay strong . You are not an AirBNB. She might try to give you a sob story if the other guy leaves . Say it internally « I am not an Airbnb «

The financial risk is too much nowadays. This is coming from someone who trades 0DTE SPX options. That is one of the riskiest investment assets because you have to think « deal » or »no deal » within minutes of holding that position. Remarriage is still the higher risk. 1. I’ve taken my ex to the emergency room each year and somehow I eat 3500 out of it. 2. My ex got panic attacks when going to a grocery store. So guess who had to do the shopping after working 10 hours while she was on TikTok al…

The fact that you are out of paying for the house is a blessing in disguise. She didn’t think this through and maybe because she’s a first time home owner. You can easily lose 5 grand for something breaking in that house. Now she’s on the hook for that and not you .

tell me about it. When my ex had a bad hair day at the salon and needs another hair dresser to fix it, I’m out 800 dollars somehow. 800 is upper mid escort level that will leave you alone afterwards. I‘m sure seeking arrangements is much cheaper nowadays.

The funniest thing on my zoom call with the judge when the final decision was made. She said “I hope you don’t make the same mistake again in your life “. The ex didn’t pick up that jab. It’s now forever in my pocket

My wife told me that making $160K a year was not enough. Divorced is finalized and her new husband makes 20£ an hour and is living in council housing with him. She’s so romanticized about London,England that she doesn’t know how life is hard there too compared to the US. i give it 8 weeks after their marriage is finalized this month before she divorced him and comes crawling back. Having peace and quiet in the house is so valuable.

it Took me 2 years of marriage to realize mine was just sucking me dry. Every job interview she was the final candidate for she would skip or ridicule the interviewer. Luckily I had no kids with her. I took on 33k this year to pull off the divorce but trust me I will be free cash flow next year of 80k so whatever. You have to stand up for yourself.Freeloaders need to get dumped.

It’s unavoidable. I took a 33k hit this year to get the divorce now it’s done. I hardly spend money so in 6 months I’ll have that debt paid off

Divorced 1 and final as of today. After dealing with someone who is so selfish with time and money. I am not doing it anymore. I lost a lot of progress for the past two years. She’s still stuck at the state of her life when we first met.

Luckily me and my ex didn’t have children. She burned every bridge on my side of the family and was watching my every move. Today the judge finalized our divorce and now she can ruin the life of her new man. I feel relieved . I was in your position last year minus the children. To get my soul and command back feels priceless. Hang in there brother

The main thing is when people recognize that you are comfortable in the skin you are in they are attracted to you. its human nature to be attracted to people who are sure of themselves even if they are wrong . I also think that you as a person know your true self while others want to know what your secret is.

Talk to a lawyer ASAP and file ASAP. My lawyer advised me over the weekend to move out before my STBX moves in the rented property. We are renting. No kids. My lawyer told me for my case get out and stay somewhere else. He said based on the story below she wants to start false accusations. Luckily she’s leaving England where it’s harder to serve her back to Florida where we can serve her at the rental property. It’s going to be a long week. She’s trying to agitate things by threatening to fly me and her to California so she can slap and attack a distant aunt and uncle because they called her “crazy” based on when they saw on…

It feels good once you’ve started the process. It took me two days to complete everything because my emotions were in the way, but as soon as she had her tantrum today, it felt good knowing that she is going to get served next week and I’m out of the house.
/r/Divorce_Men19/10/24 01:42 AM

My STBX is glued to TikTok and thinks money grows on trees. She thinks my boss is ripping me off for making 160k a year for a 40 hour workweek. She can’t even land a minimum wage job but thinks I shouldn’t work so hard at work.
/r/Divorce_Men18/10/24 04:47 PM

Rip the band aid. My wife will be served around the time of her birthday and anniversary. She’s become unbearable. I’ll take the kicking and screaming now versus dealing with her daily tantrums throughout the year.

I did the math of what was flowing in my bank account before the marriage compared to after the marriage. Even if I pay 20,000 now in retainer fees I will make it back plus extra in 6 months of being single.
/r/Divorce_Men10/10/24 06:49 PM

I don’t care about losing money in the process. I’m able to recover after the fact. i was writing the previous post in haste and forgot to add that.

My STBX is blaming me for everything at this point. Once I get my 6 months of residency in Florida next Thursday, I am calling a lawyer and filing ASAP. I don’t even care about losing. Only at this point. It’s about sending her a message that if she thinks she can do better without me then let’s take off the training wheels in life. Thank goodness this marriage is only 11 months.
