I look like Ian Somerhalder but I've not had that many chicks. There are numerous instances of actors having duplicates/ doppelgangers but those people are not at all famous and don't have that many chicks. I'm not saying you have to wear a suit, your style could be sleeveless and bermudas.

Bodybuilding. The reason is that I did something majority of the people just don't have the discipline to do. It was a hobby, a new potential area of specialization and obviously it makes you look great. It differentiates you from the masses. Now, I also do powerlifting, calisthenics, running, and it all stemmed from bodybuilding :) I got great confidence that I know a lot about the subject of fitness and that I can do what many people cannot.

Learn to convert bad situations to good. When she said she was from the area you could've said "oh, you look more intelligent than the girls from this town" Learn to give backhanded complements. Don't just say you're hot, or you're beautiful. Say something like "are you an athlete?" If she asks why you can say "you're very fit."
