But then a friend told me she had a thing for me for a while. I see her every once in a while and we barely talk, I sometimes feel like she is ignoring me. 2	Tips on being non-responsive? Some preparation (not needed but preferred) just think to yourself "be cool" over and over, you could also compliment it with some deep breaths. When you're in the moment just "be" cool (there is really no other way to explain it), be as cool as a cucumber. Here how I see it: I don't think it was a bitch shield I think she just has different "values" (for lack of a better term) about talking about finances. In the western world, and in the U.S. in particular, people are very touchy on the subject of money and earnings, because what you make implies "what you're worth", which is an uncomfortable subject in a nation where people subscribe to the idea of social equality and democracy (i.e. no one person is better than another).
