I too test drove, but it was not a turbo which does add significantly to the fun factor. The non turbo felt anemic and the shifting was labored no matter the tone. (manual). Then there are the glaring safety concerns. Meh, I just felt that a real mini turbo with some work would be a better application of funds. Or, an old Mr.Bean mini because....Yes.

Look into an F4i from 2000 or 2001. Hear me out. Everyone I knew who went to the 250 or other low cc rides quickly regretted it. Have maxed it out every year I've been with my company. We have a 15% match so even with the hit this year, I have done well since starting it. We now have a ROTH 401k option so I am very torn as to which to use. Maxing the ROTH would be intense but doable. I'm already 3.4k into my 401k for the year and they will only match the 15% up to 19k. Early retirement says ROTH but I can use the 72t option on my 401k. No fun.

a quality built (older model) AK , most definitely. Hard to compare something from Century Arms or other cheap Norinco kind of garbage. Personally, I like the AK and the AR but for different reasons. Stockholders will typically sell during these times, get the value low then rebuy around the times the breakthroughs are expected. I miss my 2001 sentra with the SR20. I'd be driving it if I wasn't hit by an uninsured driver. The sentra felt more connected to me and the road. Overall, faster and more cargo room. There is the hope to do that. Couldn't tell if the frame is bent but the damage will be well into the thousands. Given the age of the car, it is unlikely the settlement will be more than one or two thousand dollars. I've been advised to take her to court for negligence but that will only hold water if the police report (when fully released) and the insurance companies play ball. All in all, it could be five to 10 thousand dollars to repair, not to mention the cost of a rental in the mean time.
