This won't help much, but it could be worse. Instead hitting a car that was paid for, she could have hit a car that depreciated faster than it could be paid, leaving the owner to cover the balance. There is a consolation. She is adding points to her license and insurance companies won't like her.

If the rest of the car is in good shape, little rust, and engine & transmission are in good shape, why not fix it with the settlement?

New cars, anything made after 2007-2008 are so damn computerized I hate trying to work on them because you often need a factory level scan tool to have any chance beyond brakes/plugs/oil changes.

Engine mounts and the control arm are typically avaialable, if not from onilne, then salvage yards. Quarter panel for Sentra might have to be from salvage yard.

A good shop could fix the mechanicals and align it, then take to a body shop for panel and paint.

If your car was in a parking space the cops would see right through her shit.

If there's not much damage though I would get a payout and just fix it.

Sorry to hear about your car OP.

Let OP be an example to everyone here. Get yourselves a dashcam, preferably 2 so you can cover your driving front and back. This small investment will pay for itself as soon as you are in an accident and can prove the other driver is at fault.
