OYS 29 28, 5'9", 176 lbs, ~17%bf New account after this post is u/the_man_i_want_to_be. Name chosen for obvious reasons, I'm on this journey to remake myself into my own ideal. Fitness God I miss heavy lifts. 6 days until gyms reopen here. Boxing is keeping me sane on this front, my coach is damn good and he tweaks every workout so that I end it on my last reserves. I've noticed some lingering wrist soreness that feels suspiciously like the start of carpal tunnel, so I've backed off a bit on the…

The passcode has been great so far because it puts a little timer in my head, and I know when my limit is up so is my phone time. I think a couple weeks of internalizing that and I won't even need the software or the passcode.

This is going to be the hardest 60DoD for me by a mile. Talk about a muscle I don't have. Also, I’m doing this because I believe the outcome will save me This is 100% where I am currently at. I believe the outcome of my growth and ownership will be to become the man I want to be...but I'm not authentically him yet.

Fair enough, but in the context of this post, when you create them intentionally with the intent of being a parent, they are. OP wants to be a dad but is cool with being a shitty one. Fuck that.

There is at least a little gray area here, because probably the strongest theme of the sub is self-ownership and discipline. Seeing your kids once a month is the opposite of self-ownership, both in the sense that the children you create are your responsibility and that they are literal extensions of yourself. We'd run a guy out of town for only going to the gym once a month. Being unable to handle your life and responsibilities is a huge indicator of low value.

It's different, but it is compounding. Everything hard about your relationship will get harder. There's no breaks any more. No hangover Sundays where you sleep until noon and watch TV in your underwear. That kid doesn't give a fuck if you are sick, tired, hungover, whatever. He will wake up at the ass crack of dawn and expect food and care, and you're gonna give it to him. It's rewarding as all hell, but it'll stress your relationships. You better be tight going in, if you aren't...wait. you can…

For the love of fuck, don't have kids if you are scared of work. To be a halfway decent parent you have to change up your whole life. You have to fix all sorts of shit about yourself to keep your kid from picking it up. Early morning wakeups are mandatory, because the kid doesn't give a shit about your schedule. You will be shit on weekly. Your kid will push you to the limits of your endurance and patience. And you want the easy path to it? Because you are a pussy? Do yourself a favor and stay c…

OYS 28 This is probably the last OYS I post from this account, because my dumbass forgot the password and I'm not email verified. I have access until my cache clears, then this account will be lost. 27, 5'9", 176 lbs, ~17%bf Fitness Backslid here. A few runs, and only one trip to boxing due to schedule limitations. Gyms open back up in two weeks, thank god. What I slacked on in working out, I made up for by not eating. I've eaten very little, and I lost an extra pound for it. Five pounds to go b…

I'm on a sexual moratorium for the next 6 to 12 months I've noticed that a lot of the divorced/divorce-pending guys like to swear off sex for a while. On one hand, it makes sense. Unplug, center yourself, then go back out there. I just get the feeling some of the guys are using celibacy to mask their fear of talking to or getting with women. Can't get rejected if you aren't trying, right? You're the one who will know which it is for you. Just be honest, and if it is only fear, it is time to star…

Because men's attractiveness comes from their power and vision. It's impossible for a man to be broken, weak, and attractive. Women can still be sexy even when they are broken and weak, so guys who can't do any better use that to get laid.

You're dangerously close to holding a covert contract there: "If I handle myself during this difficult time, my wife will do thoughtful things to make my life easier." When you are at your weakest is when you can expect the most shit tests. If you need her to handle more chores or work, you're going to have to make your needs explicit. If you haven't already established yourself as a strong and worthwhile leader, don't expect making your needs explicit to do anything either.

Depends what type of support you are expecting. In a good relationship your wife should be able to carry some of the load, chores, children, and family stuff. She will never be able to be your emotional pillar. Or, more accurately, asking her to be your emotional pillar will poison her attraction for you, causing resentment and eventually a lack of motivation for her to continue providing emotional support. As the man, it's on you to process your emotions, and support should come from other trus…

Yeah, and there is literally no faster way to kill attraction than to be the guy fucking around doing nothing while the wife has her shit together. This lady gave him thirteen years to figure shit out before she started shopping around. She's a trooper.

To be clear, I am referring to the parent comment, and not OP's victim puke. I generally split MRP stuff away from my hobby-focused account. I don't exactly try to hide my identity on either, but things I've posted on this account could be damaging professionally if the wrong person read them. That isn't super likely, so I'll just leave the mistake comment up until the post loses relevance and then clear it.

Comment was originally posted on the account I don't use for MRP. Here's the original text: I'm going to write your post from your wife's point of view. "13 years ago, I met a guy and we hit it off. He was decently handsome and we wanted the same things out of life. We got married and started popping out children. For ten fucking years we let at least one child own our bedroom. Man, this is pretty basic stuff. Many times when I get a shit test my wife will pitch out a line about how X has happened and I don't even care. Usually it's something that I care very much about, and we both know it. It's an attempt to get me emotionally engaged in an argument. The best response is a calm "we both know I care about X." Or "if that's what you think I don't know what to tell you, X is important to both of us." Don't start DEERing all the ways you care, don't fire back with someth…

Neat, I wasn't aware that was a stoic practice but it makes sense that it would be. I find it interesting that positive visualization and negative visualization both have benefits depending on the circumstances at hand. Almost like we are equally afraid of the good stuff as the bad stuff.

You're at the very beginning of your journey. All is not lost for you, far from it depending on whether you will do the work and grow or not. I'd recommend reading u/red-sfpplus and u/tyred_biggums old OYS and posts for examples of what growth out of a divorce looks like. Their situations aren't the same as yours, but they didn't let divorce stop them from living the lives they want.

That woman was my whole world. This pretty much guarantees it won't work. A woman (or a man, really. Anyone.) doesn't want to be their partner's whole world. They want to feel like they mean the world to a partner who has a ton of other cool shit going on. Think about having a friend. This guy only ever does anything to try to impress you. Any time he succeeds at something he is calling you up saying "bro, I washed the car, cool right?" "Bro, I worked out, isn't that awesome?" "Do you like my ne…

No, I've got no interest You've already cottoned on to what's happening here, but your wife gave her honest answer here. Sure, suave romance can help make the build up to sex better, but all it does is help. If Chris Hemsworth walked into your bedroom oiled and shirtless, and said "pants off, bend over" your wife would hamster it into being sexy and dominant. Because she wants to fuck him. If you pull off the most suave come on in history, she will rationalize it as greasy or sleazy. Because she…

I’m sleeping like shit at night – waking up with stupid anxiety filled thoughts. Had some potential legal trouble a year or so ago that had me doing this same shit. Ignoring it didn't help, talking about it didn't help. I tried to work it out in the gym but had so much anxiety during deadlifts I almost fucked up my back. Thanks for suggesting that. I'm about halfway done, I like the deep dive into why clothing matters, beyond "look good 4 wife." Or even "look good feel good." I see a lot of value in using my wardrobe to communicate my own value and in-groups. Something I just hadn't put a lot of thought into beyond looking clean and presentable in the past.

At the risk of getting drawn into...whatever this is, I'd guess that the alpha/beta split happened in prehistory. Humans are K-strategists and so are our genetic cousins and common ancestors. Likely selection was for a man that could feed the family and also fight off the wolves.

Because I'm a big softie, I'll break it down for you. First and foremost, if you're having a good time and you are both feeling it, whatever you are doing is working and you don't need to change your behavior because some book you read said to. Second, the right way to do RP is to become a high value man. Don't just learn to give off the impression of being high value, put in the work to make it real. The rest will follow, and you can use the body of knowledge out there to polish your skills. Th…

Quarantine is a great time for a cut. My boxing gym is open on the dl so I can get top tier cardio workouts and I have access to a kitchen 24/7. Still kicking myself for not buying weights before the pandemic hit. I've wrapped an anvil in rope to use as a kettlebell, but I don't have anything for squats or deadlift. Also, responding to your edit: The unhealthy part of it is fear. Sex is finally increasing in quality and frequency, I'm not getting turned down, and I want it to be good so it doesn't stop. It's standard faggotry, I know logically that the right answer is to continue my own development and not spend a second thought on sex outside of wanting it or having it. That's fair. Now that the sex has picked back up it is easy to focus on that to the exclusion of my other growth. The rest of the week just also wasn't very notable. Well, yeah, trying to control my wife against her will would be stupid. It's not like the vibrator won't work when she holds it. My wife already likes me to have control sexually. Using toys is just one more way to apply it. It helps me deal with my own performance anxiety and fucked up mental models that I've accumulated over years of chasing that Good Lover Validation, failing to make her cum, etc. It helps her deal with the emotional baggage of having dealt with my validation seeking, too: if…

Why did Sherlock Holmes want Watson? Watson didn't have his genius. He didn't have his direction. He wasn't even as good in a fight. Holmes wanted a Watson because having a competent and trusted right hand man is fucking awesome. In a good partnership, the whole is more than the sum of the parts. Sex The majority of this OYS was going to serve as a field report for my first tries at orgasm denial. I think one major issue for my wife is the opposite: she sees me cum pretty much every time we have sexual contact, so while she wants me to have pleasure, she isn't really worried about it. In her mind, I get my fulfillment every time. What's rare is for her to get what she is after, so that is what she is focused on. In a classic case of one-more-thing-itis, she gets so focused on the elusive orgasm that everything else pleasurable about sex gets left behind. I think in this circumstance, expr…

Italy and Spain have pretty shaky health systems compared to Sweden, and much more crowded cities. I don't think there is any case where mitigation efforts would cause higher rates of infection. The question is whether the economic hit is going to hurt people worse than the virus would have, and I think that answer varies by location. Bumfuck Western Kansas? The Swedish model is effective for a smaller country with robust enough medical infrastructure to weather the narrow peak. I imagine relatively few countries fit that criteria. I know if the States tried it it would have been a fucking disaster. There's plenty of speculation as is that we can't get enough PPE or ventilators before we are forced to end quarantine. If we'd gone in raw there likely would've been a doctors and nurses strike when the masks ran out.

technique Well as far as making my wife cum the most reliable way is oral. I just finger her deeply and lick her clit, try to find a tempo that her body responds to and stick to it. It eventually gets her off but it isn't great for either of us. During sex my wife's body responds best to slow, deep thrusts. More importantly she likes me to control her body, either squeezing her from on top or moving her from behind or underneath. I can get her very close to orgasm this way, but when I feel her g…

Fighting is my natural inclination as well, but...it is also failing the shit test. A shit test is your woman testing your quality and commitment to your mission to draw out your masculine energy. The appropriate response is to be so focused on your mission that you barely notice shit tests at all. Also acceptable is to respond by giving her some of your positive energy, if you want to. You can't make a second first impression, but everyone loves a good redemption story. You feel its absence bitterly, but once you have access to it you realize that it wasn't the ticket to happiness you thought it was.

Beer will fuck up your diet and gains more than anything else. I've basically cut down to no beer at all (maybe 1-2 every other week) because of how much it undoes my other work.

I alternate between feeling beaten and exhausted to feeling free and light Court is exhausting. The threat of court is exhausting. I had an incident last year that involved an intentional hit and run to get out of a dangerous situation. Could've landed me in court if the DA/investigator had wanted it (luckily the investigator told me his personal opinion was that I'd done the right thing and they refused to pursue charges). If they'd believed the other guy's bullshit the charges could've been ve…

It's probably impossible for me to make significant strength gains here, so I'm doing a hard cut and getting in shape while preserving the gains I've already got. There's something to be said for not forcing increasing extremity of sex as a form of validation seeking. But. If a woman is turned on enough, she's going to be open to a lot more than normal based on the feeling of the moment. As time goes on I'm less inclined to believe in "good girls" and more inclined to believe that they just aren't getting enough out of sex to be into things. Now if only dirty talk didn't make me feel like Austin Powers.

I think going on superphysiologocal levels of test before I reached near my genetic potential would fuck up most of the mental gains from lifting for me personally. Everything else about MRP is taking the hard road, no shortcuts. The best part about lifting for me is that every bit of it is something I did for myself, by myself. I think it would mean less to me if I felt I owed my progress to modern chemistry.

She isn't "doomed" because memory is not a reliable, static thing. If she can find a guy who she feels is equally worthy to her past man, she will be able to be fully attracted to him. Although I suppose this could also go the other way, with a string of lesser men each inflating the memory of the previous high value man until no one can touch him. I'm inclined to imagine that is less common than the former situation, since women draw a significant portion of their insight from their current emo…

Incels arent geniuses on every level. With the exception of avid burn victims, massive deformity, and subfunctional retardation, inceldom is the result of laziness and refusal to learn. Anyone but the listed categories can find someone to fuck if they put some work in. I've seen truly ugly people of either gender score. The refusal to maintain basic hygeine, a social life, income, fitness, and game is the cause for essentially all inceldom. Why would anyone want to hear from someone like that?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/20 02:01 PM

The issue is that incels have a tendency to dogpile subs and shift the narrative toward their toxic nihilism. It's a lot harder to have actual discourse with that ideology around.

Squats and deadlifts are going to tighten your back muscles up really tight if you lift as hard as you can. Balance them out by doing weighted sit ups to strengthen your opposing core muscles. Stretch to prevent injury. Consistency is king. 3-4 shitty workouts a week is better than one awesome workout per week, so show up every time no excuses. Of course 3-4 awesome workouts is best, but you are going to have sick/tired/shitty days sometimes. Don't start a set of squats if you have a risky fart …

There will be a loss for those who couldn't afford (or like me just waited too long) to buy a home gym. But it comes back fast, especially if they have kept conditioned with bodyweight/dumbbell training. I don't think it will be that big a change. I also don't think it will be a 6 month quarantine. You are spot on. The case ventilation rate AFAIK is about 15%, which means in a totally overwhelmed health system that is approximately the potential morbidity of the virus. If we get anywhere near that point it'll be panic like never before. Some similarity, but some major differences too. My wife grew up dirt poor, with a neglectful/abusive mother. I would think positive is easier to accomplish, but it's the same premise. Seal the room as best you can, and pump air in faster than it escapes through the leaks. Negative is the same, except pumping air out. I'd forget about trying to establish true directional flow unless you have serious HVAC chops. Yeah, I don't have anything to add except for trying to rig up positive pressure in at least one room might be worth it in your case. They make portable ventilators, if you could rig up a n95-or-better filter over the source end, you could use it to pump air into a sealed room and establish a positive pressure gradient. Absolutely insane for most of the population, but that would guarantee that any small leaks didn't compromise the room. As far as expansion numbers, the best method right now see…

If anyone in your household gets sick, you've already been exposed for at least a few days, if not a couple weeks. It's likely you are also infected. Also, it doesn't matter how good your quarantine room is unless you plan on not taking care of them during their illness. Wife's hospital recommended just room isolation and gloves/mask when interacting. I'd add goggles to the mix, but sealing off the whole room is overkill. This virus needs droplet protocol, not BSL-2 precautions.

I had a similar conversation with a doctor recently. It's worth using CPAP machines or other breathing aids if you already have them on hand, but it's a pretty fringe case to have pneumonia bad enough that you can't make it on your own but not so bad that you need a proper ventilator. Patients that require a ventilator for this virus have a mean time to being taken off ventilation of like 22 days. It's not like you just have to tough it through a couple of nights. It's the truth. I'm stronger, leaner, and more stable than I was six months ago. I might still be an autistic fuck but I'll keep at it until I'm not.
/r/MarriedRedPill10/03/20 08:18 PM

Is that how you actually wanted to respond or is it because some retards on MRP told you that's how you're supposed to? Yeah, that's valid. I half-assed STFU because what I wanted to do was engage. But I know consciously that engaging is the wrong move, so I tried it all the same.
/r/MarriedRedPill10/03/20 08:15 PM

Because I'm better than I was yesterday, and tomorrow I'll be better than I was today. If my wife somehow wakes up and sees the light as I continue my growth then my fears are unfounded, otherwise in the long term we will have to go our separate ways.
/r/MarriedRedPill10/03/20 08:11 PM

Wrong. If I was right, I wouldn't need MRP. This flair fits me better than "grinding" because I'm going to get it wrong as many times as it takes before I figure out how to get it right. I'm aware that this post reads as if my wife is the focal point of my self worth, but this OYS is addressed mainly to my huge shit test Friday. Why do you fucking care and what do you think that means? I care about my relationship insofar as it is part of my life. I have a sinking feeling that I have dug myself …

/r/MarriedRedPill10/03/20 06:29 PM

You're right, that is poorly worded. My highest priority will be allowing myself more independence to become a more developed and well-rounded man. Namely, signing up for that boxing gym by my house and finding things to do outside of my living room. My next level on the dread ladder is #3, so I've been equating the two in my mind. I'm not going to go Rambo off hitting on chicks, but getting out of the house for more than just the gym is the next step in my development.

I've read WISNIFG, NMMNG, WotSM (partial, I like to read a chapter every few days and mull it over), Book of Pook, Rational Male year 1, MMSLP and the top 100 or so posts on MRP. It's hard to say which of them I've really understood. When I go back and reread after a few months of MRP practicum, I'm able to put them in better context. My guess is it is probably time for a total reread, both to pick up things I have forgotten and because I have a more appropriate experience base to apply the cont…

I'm not sending another text today. She knows what the plan is. I'm tempted to skip beers just because I'm a little excited to get on with the main event, but I think it could also be counterproductive. No, that's not me teaching her RP verbiage here. That's my wife's own words from a previous fight being brought back up. I'm not dumb enough to tell her anything about my journey here.

Should we tell them that looking to MRP for approval is all the same as looking to their wives for it? I definitely did this out of the gate. I know the question was rhetorical, but there was value for me in being called out on it. Validation seeking is a sneaky behavior. I didn't make much progress until I learned to recognize it.

I still prefer to not divorce but I cant give it another year If you haven't fully unfucked yourself, trying with a new woman will just land you back in the same boat. The easy way out just turns into the same old shit. If you have fully unfucked yourself and your wife just won't come around, this is eventually the only option. You have the tools to not ruin a new relationship. Only you can decide which category you fall into. Also, ultimatums don't work in the long term.

At 23% body fat and deadlifting 1x bodyweight, you don't need to bulk. You are fat and weak enough that you can cut weight and put on muscle at the same time. Your body will be able to replenish itself from your fat stores.

Full out nuclear is right. Call her doctor, call her mom if she isn't trashy, tell her if you even suspect her of smoking before the baby is out it's an instant divorce. Document everything. Honestly that whole passage in MMSLP reeks of pseudoscience in the first place. There's no reason to think that having someone cum in you would increase the amount of testosterone in your body. Do you think that there is a connection between being a high value man and killing one's ego? It seems on first thought that since ego functions as a defense mechanism against insecurity, becoming truly high value would be at least a prerequisite to letting go of ego. But we've all seen objectively high value men with rampant egos. There's no shortage of athletic superstars who are very much not their own point of mental origin and instead thriving off the validation of women (a la Tiger Woods) …

Let's not act like it was Curie's husband that discovered radium. It was all her; her husband was a beard so that her work was taken seriously. To prove radium's existence she had to notice recurring inconsistencies of mass well within what most scientists today would chalk up to operator error, using crude tools and with no references to go on. Believe what you want about gender relations but don't talk shit on Curie, she's a bigger badass than anyone in here will ever be.

My lack of confidence/ performance anxiety/ lack of initiations is the elephant in the room in all my OYS posts You read a lot here about "killing the ego." Insecurity is an ego-driven emotion. Abundance mentality is pretty much synonymous with killing the ego. An ego driven man puts his identity into the validation of others; he is scared to have sex because if it goes poorly then he's bad at sex and that threatens the core of his self image. An abundant man doesn't worry about his performance …

If you haven't already hit it, watch for the anger phase next. You'll hate your wife for not fucking you right and society for telling you to be a certain way and yourself most of all for being such a bitch and giving up your innermost self just for a little insincere praise. This is a normal part of the RP journey. After that comes acceptance.
/r/MarriedRedPill18/02/20 07:25 PM
2

My early OYS posts have a ton of the same issues. Validation is a sneaky bitch. Even now I slip tell my wife sometimes when I've done something good and want a cookie. This comes from a place of scarcity and insecurity. Fight the behavior, and you'll realize how little the validation was doing for you in the first place.

Don't know how to internally stop this. The antidote to this is to start practicing self-honesty. I say practice because this is hard. When you find yourself making decisions, you need to ask yourself "what am I afraid of" and then dissect the answer looking for validation seeking. It helps me to imagine myself in a vacuum. If all the other people in my life were faceless nobodies, what choice would I make? Why? Is it disapproval or rejection I fear? For me, this is the hardest part of MRP.

He doesn't have to reschedule anything on his calendar, but saying "sounds great but I'm booked, let's do something (whenever he wants to see her)" is going to land a lot better than "no thanks." A flat rejection seems like he's still pouting about the shit test, and that's how she interpreted it.

Long-term I'm not sure the marriage will survive. Make peace with this, but don't do what a lot of the new guys do and tell your wife this during a fit of butthurt after a rejection. You have 13 years of beta to unfuck before a divorce would even do you any good. If you start with DL 1 today, that's at least a year of hard work before you start seeing the results that let you make your decision. Gym, stfu.

Also, fuck parents who do their kids' projects for them.

I look at myself in the mirror and think “shit, I need to work out those under pec muscles and traps a little more today” One of the things trainers tell morbidly obese clients is to only look in the mirror once a week or so. It helps them avoid being discouraged with gains and stick to the program. I wonder if it would work similarly for a guy at the opposite end of the fitness scale. Only do a full inspection once a week or so, and trust that your routine will bring gains in the interim.

I've seen a spectrum. it’s more just a feature of dudes thinking they are much better than they actually are (they think they have changed directions when the wife still recognizes their faggotry) I think part of it is that by the point guys end up here their wives think they've changed direction a hundred times before. Like an alcoholic promising that he'll never have another drink. Even when they recognize the change, they don't believe it'll last. So they carry on as normal and wait for the other shoe to drop.

My bench is currently very weak. Out of the listed lifts, your bench is proportionally the strongest by a fair margin. Unless you have back/knee problems it is unusual to have a squat and bench the same. The average lifter would have deadlift > squat > bench. My legs are quite a bit stronger than my upper body, but for comparison I hit 1k at bench 235, squat 375, deadlift 405. So if you can squat 305, you probably have the musculature to deadlift 350 at least. Trust yourself a little more.

why is sexlessness so high for young men if 99.9% of people should have no problems finding someone to have sex with? I guess I don't have a problem in theory with it being gendered. RP doesn't work without brutal honesty toward yourself. Do you think this guy is the type to actually take a hard look at himself for any reason? In MRP the journey begins with a man realizing that 99% of the shit in his life is there because of his failings. If you can't accept that realization, the rest of the material is moot. There's not a magic spell to make him realize he's a little bitch. Get the couch ready.

By beta male I mean some average dude who works a boring 9-5 job So you just don't know what Beta means. You can work a boring desk job and still be attractive and interesting. You can be a Marine and be an ugly little bitch. I've seen both. Now an actual beta? Submissive, weak, lazy, bitchy, out-of-shape provider? No, not really. That's not sexually attractive to most women. "Normal" guys with passionate sex lives have at least some alpha traits and passive dread working, intentional or not.

In a bad marriage, yeah. My wife is a nurse, which means guaranteed survival income, reliably, pretty much instantly anywhere we move. That has let me take career and financial risks I couldn't have absorbed on my own, and it has paid off tremendously. If you lost your temper even with AA or AM, you still showed that you were impacted by her and thus failed. Yeah, absolutely. Whenever we fight I'm instantly, totally in her frame. But there is still a catch here... do you see it? Keeping my good vibes flowing solely to improve my wife's mood is just Dancing Monkey with extra steps. The goal should be to find that emotional resilience for myself, and the fact that it passes shit tests is just a nice side effect.

Alpha doesn't mean manwhore. Alpha is just the combination of traits that is most sexually attractive to women. The most alpha guys I know have pretty high standards because it isn't that hard to get high quality women. The biggest manwhores I know are usually not the most attractive guys, they are seeking to prove to themselves that they can get sex to validate their own insecurity. I'm sure some alpha guys are manwhores too, but it isn't a prerequisite.

This is absolutely 100% true...except the bar for being "average" is low, super low, way lower than most guys think. And being high value in one area can outweigh low value in another. I'd say you can probably move a full standard deviation, if not two, from your baseline state with only controllable factors like finding a good job, dressing well, getting fit, improving hygiene, and developing a social life. That means only about 5% of guys can't pull themselves up to "average" no matter what...…

I try to stay receptive to criticism but I'm having trouble seeing it here. There's not a behavior I'm seeking from my wife. I just don't think cheating is part of who I want to be. Maybe that'll turn her into a spontaneous blowjob machine, but more likely it will mean a setback in what dread I can run. I don't really care either way, I'm following my own autistic vision.

I think you're overthinking things. Go do something you think might be fun, and if you suspect it isn't a good fit or your reasons are wrong, pick something else next time. And don't pick a hobby specifically because it is good dread-that is a dancing monkey approach (if I do X hobby my wife will find me more attractive) and also you'll be less likely to stick with it. Just have fun and the dread will come on its own. Sports and yoga are both solid ideas.

withholding sex Withholding sex is not abuse. When a woman withholds sex (discounting medical reasons, of which there are plenty) it is because the man has done something to kill her attraction to him. But there is no obligation for either party to have sex, and it isn't abuse to not want it. If my wife put on a hundred pounds I wouldn't fuck her. If I act like a whiny bitch I doubt she'd fuck me. Just because you don't understand doesn't mean it is incoherent. One of the basic RP tenets is "you can't negotiate attraction." Literally, you can nag or bully her into fucking you, but you can't make her want it or like it. What you can do, the literal core of RP, is take her off the pedestal and build your life focus around a mission instead. If I'm making 300K a year, I can contribute against my first 280K (up to the annual contribution limit of $19,500) but not against my last 20K. Don't think there's any amount of money that keeps you from having a 401K at all, but if you are making a lot more than 280K per year it stops being worth it to manage one.

Good job taking the first step and posting. First things first, stop making your wife out to be a villain. Your wife is treating you like a little bitch because you are being a little bitch. You lost your job and finances are tight. She is worried that marrying you doomed her to a shit life. Focus on yourself, as a man, and don't whine about how mean she is. If you turn yourself into a real high-value man and she still hates you, you'll have plenty of other options. If your job sucks, you need t…

OYS 11 Been about a month since my last OYS because there isn't a whole lot to report. I'm getting better at using my RP tools. Grinding is slow, but steady improvement. Fitness 18%bf Bench 230, Squat 360, Deadlift 380 (calculated from 4rm) I'm pleased with my strength gains. Going to take next Friday to do my maxes, since I think I can actually hit the 1000 club. My appearance has improved, I am steadily moving from skinny-fat to just fat. Once I hit the 1000 club I am going to start a slow cut…

So I put some terms....I need frequent enough sex. And I'm going to define this. This is a fucking contract. Yeah, sure, overt is slightly better than covert, but you can't negotiate desire. That's day 1 shit. She agrees because in the moment she doesn't mind the idea of fucking you but when you nag her into bed later she's going to hate it. If you get your shit right she might actually want to fuck you instead.

I had a similar conversation with a buddy of mine a year or two ago. I'm in a happy and stable marriage, he was single and very successful with ladies. I jokingly referred to the 0/1 scale as the "only scale that matters" and he disagreed. He said "look, a 6/10 and a 10/10 are both a 1 on the 0/1 scale, but I might be willing to drive a state over to get with a 10/10 and the 6/10 I might only get with if she will come to my house." Similar to the above comment, he made a distinction based on the…

A lot of them have other ways to stimulate genetic variation, such as short generation times, higher than average mutations, etc. Humans have relatively long generation times. We aren't set up to handle a lack of genetic diversity.

Every financial reason that I would consider divorce worthy comes with root issues that are the real problem. If my wife kept blowing our savings on dumb shit to the point where it affected our financial future, or stopped working without also contributing to the household, yeah, that's grounds for divorce. But it is the selfishness and lack of respect that is the real issue. A series of unfortunate events leads us to be under water? No, not as long as my wife is a good partner through it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/19 09:20 PM

In the absence of genetic variation, we would've all died when a disease we weren't resistant to finally got us. Appearance and smell are just ways we try to evaluate the genetic differences of others.

The guy is squatting less than 135, but weighs 170. 6 months of no-deload SL progression would have him squatting 260, which is much closer to where he should be. The 3-4 months, reload and rotate is good advice for an intermediate lifter, but at this stage just lifting every week is the most important thing.

Don't worry about getting out of stronglifts right now. Those are the numbers of someone who has never lifted before. Stay with a beginner progression until you are bench pressing your body weight and squatting 1.5x bodyweight at least. You can stay longer than that. Stronglifts is exactly what you need, for 6 months to a year before you consider changing it up. Just get in there and lift. Don't slack on the weight progression at your stage, lift more and fail over talking yourself into staying …

You don't need to make money, but you need to pursue success. For most guys, money comes with success. As an artist, you probably have more ways than most to find success without making money alongside it-by becoming prominent in your style or community or otherwise creating a prolific work. I've been friends with a couple of guys who had "the knack." I never heard any if them brag about their number. The most prolific of them got with ~5 new girls in a year to my knowledge, he would keep them as plates in other cities usually. I also knew a guy who told me he bagged 40 girls in his first month at college. Fucker lived in the same building as me, I knew he never left his room. Debatable math aside, a lot of guys here and elsewhere lie about their number to seem cool. Most guys are somewhere between 5-15, 99.99% of guys are below 50. If someone tells you they just bagged their 300th girl, they're either in the top 0.01% of men or they're lying their ass off. On second thought, if someone is bragging about bagging their 300th girl, it doesn't matter whether they are lying or not, they are almost certainly a shithead. Who gives a fuck? This is my argument in favor of marriage even when redpilled. For pure sexual strategy staying single and sexing up as many women as possible is probably the ideal choice. But marriage isn't just about access to sex. In a good marriage, it is forming a team. My marriage has allowed me to take risks in my career (knowing my wife has viable income if I shoot too high and need to start over), improve myself, and have a partner when I need one. A really good marriage basically gives you a Watson to …

The RP endgame is to have such a fulfilling, developed life that one girl (or friend in general) leaving it doesn't make that big of a difference. Until we get there, we model that behavior and work on parts of our life that need improving. Go out with your friends, meet new people. Leave this mess behind you, you'll feel better later knowing you didn't pine for her.

I don't know, I'd say our society falls somewhere in the middle of the historical spectrum when it comes to embracing masculinity. Yeah, we push hard for men to ignore their masculinity and embrace beta behavior, but look at the Victorian era. Men and women were totally sexually repressed. Look at the Feudal ages, sure knights and lords had it peachy but the vast majority of men weren't free to make any real decisions of significance at all.

There's an inherent problem with RP subs: guys end up here because they are having a bad time with women. In my case I ended up in MRP because my marriage was in a rocky spot. Your wife is going to see right through the "suddenly mysterious" act if she has half a brain and it's going to blow up in your face. Tell her where you're going, go, have fun. Don't ask permission. If she says she needs the car for a legitimate reason, talk it out. If she says she needs the car for a bullshit reason, tell her no, you've already made plans, and don't DEER. But don't get all weird and start hinting that you're out doing something she'd not approve of. She isn't going to think you…

The bathroom scales are shit. My bathroom scale either tells me my bf is 21% or 29% (lol) and fluctuates by 1-2% every day, despite the fact that I'm steadily losing weight and navy method/personal trainer has me clocked at 19%/17.7% respectively. 18% is about right for where I am fitness wise-some visible muscle tone, no abs, no sagging stomach. I'm certainly not at 30%. So don't put too much stock in the scale. Honestly, until you are super fit, a decent rule of thumb for men is to diet until …

I can see that being a fair argument at a high level, but perception does change over time. I knew a guy in college that got a whole lot of ladies because he threw sweet ragers at his house every weekend. A girl that liked that probably wouldn't find it charming if he was 40 throwing keggers on Wednesdays and getting noise violations but might see the same qualities if he, say, organized huge barbecues or cocktail events. In both cases the same woman might like the guy for his ability to coordin…

Perception of alpha is based on social status. In high school, the carefree dude who smoked a little weed and did rowdy things with his friends and didn't take things too seriously would have enjoyed social status from it. At 30, a guy who refuses to develop a career and acts like a 16 year old CoolKid is not going to enjoy any social status from it. Instead he's going to look like a burnout who never matured. Alphas are the confident, attractive social leaders of a group. You can observe this b…

37 without ever seeing the inside of an gym IS late. When you start at 15, you've got this magical metabolism and your joints are made of a rubber/steel alloy and soreness lasts for like six hours. You start to see results in like three weeks. At 37, everything is slower, riskier, and more painful. It's a whole lot easier to burn out. I'm sure you can double that at 60, or 80, but the point stands.

Once I recognize a shit test for what it is, it is hard for me to be mad about it. She's just testing my fitness and frame because she subconsciously wants me to do and be better. If you follow any ideology as pure truth, you're basically abdicating your responsibility to develop a personal value system. It's your responsibility as an independent person to sift through the arguments for any ideology and develop your own position on it. A lot of the guys here will probably call it being a pussy but I think it is valid to recognize and address burnout. No one can go full tilt 100% of the time, so it is okay to take a break and get back to it. Just make sure you understand what it is (delaying work that needs to be done because you are mentally exhausted) instead of lying to yourself (I need a bulking period to improve my health).

At 31%bf you can make progress without upping calories. Even if it slows you down, the cut is going to be where you get the most improvement in health and appearance so why not do it first? You have 43 pounds of fat to lose to hit 15%bf. If you lose 2lb of fat per week (which is aggressive) you can be there in a year and a half. What's stopping you?

I find it hard to believe that you have absolutely zero reason for not finding her attractive. Would you prefer she is a different body type?

Oh, I assumed from your timeframes that all 3 kids were yours from previous women. If you have a kid with her, you need to double down on documenting any crazy she shows. There's something to be said for learning to fight. IMO not because of protecting your family (like you said, good judgement and CCW are how you do that), but because every guy should know what it feels like to lose a fight. OP, insecurity is ugly. The reason that OI and abundance mentality can turn on a woman is that it demonstrates security in one's frame. Insecurity does the exact opposite. Sure, I mean setting aside the fact that I've since been educated that I missed the mark totally and need to STFU, lift and read, I deliberately left frame and game out of this post. It's basically impossible to quantify, and I don't know enough to speak to it anyway.

Yeah, if nothing else having my premises torn up can help me adjust course a little bit. It's amazing how the niceguy mentality sneaks in even when I think I'm watching for it.

I actually switched to a 4x8 this week, I've been doing stronglifts on and off for a few years but never with enough consistency for the gains to stick. My 1rm is a guess based on my 5x5 weight, I don't have a lot of time so spending a whole workout to find them seems wasteful

Totally valid. I'm an engineer, my dad was a carpenter...I have to break things down to process them. Plus I thought the wake up call that I'm a lot further down the ladder than I thought was valuable

Fixed, fat thumbed it. I don't think trying a rough quantification is waxing poetic, it helps me stay realistic. Instead of thinking "I'm a 7, why do I get relatively few IOI's etc." I can know why. It's because I'm a stretch 5.

I want to bang Tinderellas without cheating on my wife. My wife isn't into Xsomes, we've been down that road. My desire to not cheat and adhere to my own moral code is greater than my desire to bang Tinderellas. That is what is stopping me.

You're absolutely right about your frame. You are 100% in hers, and she is resisting losing that control. That said, there's a difference between a shit test and being legitimately mad. Your wife is probably doing both right now. I'd be pissed if I was trying to get something done or enjoy my weekend and my wife 100% dumped our son on me to go fuck around in the garden. Being a captain doesn't mean "I do what I want always." That's what the drunk captain does. Think about it like work: a good ma…

At the end of the holidays, I quietly told her I needed more intimacy & doing stuff together in our relationship Don't fucking do that. Don't try to negotiate attraction. It's counter productive. The fact that you're trying shows that you are 100% in her frame, begging for fuckies from the real head of the house.

If she isn't your priority, what are you even caught up on? Drop her ass, focus on your priorities. What is she bringing into your life right now? Money? At best you are even, it seems. Sex? You've already seen you can get that elsewhere. If the quality of sex is the issue, you'll be able to match it eventually. Company? Support? Housekeeping? Other than your emotional sunk cost, what is she giving you that you can't replace with dividends? Oh, and now you know you can't trust her. You'll pull y…

Am I getting this right: you spent your whole weekend doing housework, that benefits both of you, and your wife spent three days on the couch because you didn't ask permission first? If it's because she was stuck with the kids for a whole weekend, she needs to communicate that she needs a break before the whole weekend is over. If it's because she misses you, she is more than welcome to join you while you do the necessary work. Working outside isn't going Rambo, even if you don't get permission,…

OYS #3 Stats: 27, 5'9", 182lb. Bench 5x5 175, Squat 5x5 245, Deadlift 5x5 315. Fitness Didn't get my third lift in this week due to a combination of sick kid/labor day. However I was able to get a decent bodyweight workout in at a nearby park. The gym is open again today, so I'll be going tonight. I've found some guys at work that seem open to lifting with me, which historically has been a good way for me to stay consistent. Plus it is always nice to have a spotter. To be honest I should have fo…

I suppose I could have been more subtle about it, if I was truly OI. Part of me wanted her to figure it out, knowing she would hate it, and I know that is a failure on my part.

Don't use a scale. I'll do the navy method tonight if I can find my cloth measuring tape. This sounds a lot like choreplay. I'm actually a lazy fuck and need to work on the "if it needs doing, do it" mindset. I think this is going to be a big part of my self improvement. plus it will help me be more social, mo one wants to come hang out in a workshop that you can't walk through. Perfect time to read Kinda the opposite of the shores problem for me. I'll read anything I can get my hands on to the …

Sounds like manufacturing your own goods would be perfect for maintaining volume in between the high profit gigs. If you're a CNC outfit, there's a surprising market for replacement parts/retrofits to old woodworking machinery. Some guy was making splitters that fit old delta unisaws and he had a crazy (like 5 month) lead time on orders. I sure wanted one.

e simply can't make money if we continue on a similar path as we have been. The industry may simply be too competitive with cheaper manufacturer's overseas. I don't know how to beat someone on price when they can pay their employees $10/day. I work in an industry where this is a major issue. My last company was huge, but even they used our equivalent of local job shops on occasion. What I noticed is that it was only worth it when the local shop could do it faster, better, or offer long term supp…

OYS #2 This is my first OYS from this account, which I am separating from my main to reduce the chances that anyone who knows me gets an earful of my private affairs. My wife has noticed, although I h…

What do you do? I'm youngish (27) and feel like I've done well for myself professionally (broke 6 figures last year) but I can't imagine ever getting to a point where I'm making more than I can reasonably spend. I'd sure like to, though. I have expensive hobbies.
