I was 37 when things finally clicked. The years since then have been the best of my life. When you ask, “do these things help me”, the answer depends on what you’re building toward. What is important to you?

Until I die and either fade into oblivion or get answers, I’m operating on the acceptance that life is about health and happiness. I genuinely don’t give a quarter shit about red pill or any other system of rules or behaviors. I make choices which build toward health and happiness today, tomorrow, and beyond. I’ve done far more than my share of living. I’ve had many, many sexual partners. I’ve experienced marriage, opted for divorce, dated and played more, then figured out where I’m happiest. Wh…

My personal approach: Don’t speak with conviction without knowing your position is fact based, or (if a matter of belief/opinion) very well supported. If you don’t have an answer, don’t fake it. Ever. “Let’s find out” is the winning ticket. Those two things quickly establish credibility with those around you, and inspire respect. Many men incorrectly believe that they must act like experts in all things. That is impossible to live up to. Instead, take pride in being the person who only deals wit…

Porn doesn’t always indicate a specific desire. Sometimes, it connects to something which is common to a specific genre. For example, the incest porn trend is blowing up, but very few people actually want to get into actual incest. That genre is considered extra taboo, and it almost always includes a necessary seduction component, which is often missing in porn. It conveys a sense of that ‘new partner’ excitement as the seduction piece develops. That genre is so popular right now, it’s a safe be…

I see that you were trying to establish intellectual high ground, but... it should have been “you’re an Anglo Saxon”.

Have mentioned this in another thread, but it’s not opening up that is a problem. It’s how people open up which is so often problematic. A secondary issue comes from the assumption that trust will hold up. Simple rules: Focus on solutions Own all that you say

There are two ways to be a slave: By force. By opting in. Which way do you feel like this connects to?

Nailed multiple points in there. In short, strength is very visible when you’re transparent and own your shit instead of shying away from it. I’ll talk about feelings with my lady without hesitation, and she does the same with me. The culture we’ve established is, “here’s what’s up, here’s where I need to be, here’s how I’m going to get there.” Even with raw shit. We don’t live in problems. We live in solutions. I don’t think many people understand how attractive that is for a partner. I’m compl…

It’s not talking about feelings which is actually a bad thing. The problem is how people generally talk about feelings. Most people talk about problems from a victim position and mentality. They’re complaining constantly about life happening to them, and repeatedly identify ‘the problem’. Let’s use the example of a person wanting to get promoted, while also feeling like they’re not getting recognition which they feel they deserve. The common way in which this is communicated is along these lines…

It would take a book, at this point. What I’ve done has evolved dramatically over the past 21 years, as my life and body have changed.

Look at the guys women consider most sexy. There are lists all over Google. Very few of those guys are bulky. The majority have lean, athletic bodies. I made the choice around age 19 to turn my then 6’2”, 160 pound body into an athletic type. I worked on slower, clean gains. I’m very glad I did. I’m a hard 185 now, looking like an Olympic swimmer at age 40. Visible Adonis belt, classic v-taper, etc. I wouldn’t change anything about the approach I’ve taken.

That is a report of results, as opposed to a study of behaviors. When most people get married, promoted, or take any other step they’ve been chasing or romanticizing, they feel as though they’ve arrived. Marriage or that big promotion are going to change everything, right? As with anything else in life, people who were chasing the carrot will stop to eat it when they get ahold of it. Others see the big picture. They get that promotion day or a wedding are just landmarks, not destinations. They g…

Thus, ”almost”. The distinction is made when alcohol or other substances become drivers in the dynamic, directly playing a part in decision making and behavior. It’s unfortunate, but this is far more common than people often realize.

The great news is that the quality of people you’ll appeal to after removing chemicals from the equation will be a substantial improvement, if you are selective about who you invest in. There are still duds who don’t drink, but you’re almost guaranteed to not find someone who has their shit together when substances are a part of your daily environment.

Worthless premise. Subjective, and incomplete. I’m not saying that to be a dick. Trying to save you the headache of trial & error based on this coin flip.

Provide empirical evidence that black holes emit photons, or that electrons exist in a smooth cloud (as opposed to granules surrounded by dead space), that quantum waves exist or behave in a specific way, that time is linear rather than granular, etc. You can’t. Literally no living human can. Yet, we accept certain things as ‘good enough’, because they have proven to be just that for purposes of beneficial, practical application, such as predicting arrival times of trains as mentioned above. My …

Shooting instructor/former SEAL Kyle DeFoor has described this in simpler and, I feel, more readily applicable terms. He describes people as ‘feeders’ and ‘receivers’, noting that each of us may be either , depending on the situation. Basically, he’s saying that you’re either making shit happen (feeding into a situation), or shit is happening to or around you. No real need to expand on it. Pretty straightforward concept. Easy to understand, but not often implemented.

You must understand that even atheists who champion science above all do so with faith. Science is, and will always be, incomplete. It is a never ending pursuit of explanations for that which we do not already know or understand. Each time we discover a new layer of substance composing the layer discovered previously, we begin delving into the mystery of what constitutes this new layer. The term “theory of everything” exists specifically because we don’t have all of the answers. We are still sor…

This is a winning attitude, when paired with a “what can I do?” (As opposed to “here’s what I can’t do”) mindset.

Without saying whether I agree or disagree with his position, I will say that I respect that he has been firm in his conviction. He is drawing attention to something he believes in, and exercising his voice peacefully. The specifics of the greater issue are a separate conversation, and not something I'm getting into.

3 years strong living with a woman who was happy, secure, and successful without me. We laugh together every day, talk about anything and everything, and have crazy sex 5-6 days per week. Meanwhile, it's common knowledge that money is the most powerful form of security in our time, yet unhappy women routinely leave or step out on men who provide for them. Focus on delivering the best version of you, not on trapping her.

Less than 10 seconds, to illustrate a point about the internet. It's the same as if I were to tell you, "you enjoy eating rebar." Me saying that doesn't actually change your relationship with rebar.

The line about "she has to need you" is 100% ass backward. You should find a woman who doesn't need you. That's how you'll know when she's with you because she wants to be.

I'm in an LTR. I don't check her phone or go through her shit. I invest that time into happiness and health. I know people here like to say, "it's just your turn", like they've figured some shit out, but the simple truth is that even your life isn't yours to keep. Literally everything we have is temporary. It's all borrowed time. I choose to make the most of mine.

No external source. I like the self improvement aspects of RP, but there is a mountain of bullshit here, too. What influences me are experience and direct observation over my 40 years of living.

There are two types of guys who are into letting other men be with their women. Guys into hotwifing do it from a place of power. IE, "she is mine. She does this because I like for her to do it. I will reclaim what is mine afterward. I have the power here. This is on my terms." Then there are cucks, who are somehow into the demeaning/degrading/powerless/shaming thing. For them, it's about bringing in a bull to properly do what they can't. And, no, not all women are running around cheating. Most o…

Contrary to what you'll read here, not all women are out there trying to branch swing. There are many examples around the RP subs of women who are, but that's mostly a function of the women in question being bar sluts or women who are so broken that they let themselves get manipulated easily.

Asking for a seat to be near friends is a question, not a challenge. People need some damn perspective. You don't have to be an asshole about little shit like that to 'hold your frame'. It's a complete non issue.

Calm and confident > aggressive alpha in matters of respect. The overt crap is often understood to be compensatory behavior, and is viewed as obnoxious and juvenile. Being sloppy drunk makes composure impossible. If you want her respect, earn it. Don't ask for it. Don't demand it aggressively or discuss it. Simply demonstrate that you are taking ownership of your situation, being responsible, and creating wins at home, at work, in the gym, etc. If she acts disrespectful, don't get belligerent. B…

We are social creatures, but it is absolutely not true for everyone that it won't be a drain. I am extremely socially capable, confident, and able to create or find enjoyment in a social setting for myself. Within my career, I have always been the person who others look to when they need a situation to be smoothed over or defused. When I meet people face to face, it is a safe bet that they're going to like me. The problem is that I don't always like them. Most people irritate me after a certain …

I work with a guy we'll call Evan. He has made attempts to pass himself off as an expert on everything you can think of, and often tries to jump in on things he has zero understanding of. I once saw him go for a screwdriver when volunteering to help with a laptop battery, and the battery on that unit was very obviously externally accessible. We all know Evans. Probably many of them. They're responsible for the 'men don't ask for directions' stereotype. Insecurities compel them to try to be the a…

I disagree with a lot of shit on here. Something I keep in my mind at all times is the awareness of what I'm feeding into the world. I don't want to feed negatives to my environment. One of my mini check in goals every day is to ask myself if people were better or worse off that day for having interacted with me. This means being kind, and also being willing to have uncomfortable conversations when they're necessary to get to a better place. So... What are you feeding into the world right now? H…

It means they're ensuring a life of worrying about what may happen, instead of using that time to live. Pretty simple shit to understand. Take all that time you're using to spy on her and try to catch her cheating, and invest it into things that make you happy.

Of course, I do. They don't have boundary issues, because I communicate clearly. When my daughters were 8 and 4, they were arguing over a new toy. I had bought it just a few hours earlier. I calmly said, "if you don't stop, I'm tossing it." They persisted. I took it and said, "follow me." Made them walk out to the garbage can, threw it away. Said, "it's gone now." There was no yelling, no drama. They're 12 and 16 now. They haven't pushed it with me since that day. They're well behaved, and we ha…

He got downvoted because he tried to discredit another guy for posting a picture of something cute. The implication is that men of worth can't appreciate cute things. Trying to act hard all of the time isn't being strong. Being strong is being unafraid and unapologetic about being you. The biggest bitch in the room is the guy who is afraid to show people who he is. The dude who posted the gorilla picture didn't run from it. He didn't budge. He owned it. Unafraid, unapologetic. That's respectable…

When clear communication isn't the answer, it's because the answer to your current problem is that you've got the wrong people in your space. Boundaries shouldn't be an issue.

People here make so many decisions based on the perceived odds of being cheated on that they ensure themselves 0% chances of having happy long term relationships. Incredible.
