But everyone else is glued to their phones anyway. Looking at their hot friends with cartoon doggy ears to ruin any hotness. Fuck this planet.

Yeah I'm going to try a little of chatting girls up with headphones and seeing how it goes. More often than not though, it's head down and typing. People just establish a social circle and then spend their time "socializing" with them via social media all day. I'm guilty of same, but it is thoroughly depressing as a concept. I'm sitting on an airline tarmac as we speak and both women next to me are typing furiously. I'm old enough to remember when people made small talk on tarmacs.

90% of the interest I receive on online dating sites is from fat chicks. It has definitely been a humbling experience.

When I put away my phone I find that everyone else is glued to their phone anyway, so it doesn't even seem worth it. Chicks love their insta and facebook. Sometimes I think humanity is pretty much over.

Eh, beautiful women get hit on a lot. Especially in, uh, "urban" environs.

I get pleasant facial expressions in return often from my eye contact, but for the life of me I don't know the difference between a friendly smile simply being contagious (and so making the woman feel a little better), and a "what a handsome and intriguing man" smile.

I'm willing to bet there is still lots of stuff you could do to be more attractive to women. But you should be proud for having been trying, at least. I know I am for myself. Even if I "lose", I want to go down having struggled against my situation all the way. As an aside, women selecting mates well (which I don't think they do, actually) doesn't help things much when the better of them have fewer to no children.

I'm also in DC, which as Roosh will tell you is a very bad marketplace for men to game. Even banging the chubby 30 year old no-name attorneys that abound requires more effort than it's worth.

I've been at the level of plowing several different girls a week. I know what I speak of. You have a distorted view of the distribution. 80th percentile fucks fats, and I don't fuck fat.

Everyone loves the Pareto Principle these days, but "the top 20%" is ridiculous for men in today's SMP. 90th percentile is the minimum for anything quality and 80th the minimum for landwhale skanks.

These are the "men" who are so sad that they can't even find a woman to let them orbit without paying for it. There are plenty of sites where girls much cuter than her will cornhole a gamepad for 10 bucks, but I guess the "good girl" illusion is what these guys are after.

Smart men won't take her -- once a fatty, always a fatty. A fat woman can lose the weight, but it always comes back. Never LTR a chick who has been overweight in the past or who has a fat mom. She's a ticking time bomb.

I realize that. Broscience is sometimes ahead of the curve, but good broscience tends to be generated by matching an observed effect to a hypothetical cause. This seems more like a snake oil cure generated by twisting formal science.

When a person is ABOUT to experience pleasure, dopamine is released in the brain, and in the parts of the brain that experience and process pleasure. Dopamine’s role here is NOT that it makes you feel good. It doesn’t – the pleasure and hedonic or euphoria feeling comes from opioids in the brain, neurochemicals which increase pleasure and deaden pain. Dopamine’s role in pleasure and reward is that it helps your brain to recognize “incentive salience.” This means that it’s like a little red flag …

I think (hope?) there are more men out here who are actually working to self-improve than some of you old-timers are giving us credit for. 2 months after the pill, I've read several books apiece on game, red pill issues, and psychology -- in addition to the sidebar and popular threads. A few weeks ago, I started lifting for the first time in my life (I'm actually basking in the afterglow right now). I'm nearly always aware of my posture and psychological state now. I overhauled my wardrobe. Late…

Question for other non-drinkers: How do you explain this to women? I do not drink because of a nearly universal predisposition to alcoholism among the males of my family and finding myself rapidly sinking down the same path. I'm usually just honest about it, but I don't know if there's a better way of explaining it that doesn't seem like I'm damaged or deficient. I have no problems being around drinking and other drinkers though.

It's only been a few months for me, also, and I'm still in a daze. For me, it's a similar feeling to when I accepted atheism. Lost and adrift. I have to believe that we can find meaning elsewhere. Philosophy and new experiences have helped a lot. And gazing into the eyes of a beautiful new woman is still pretty great, too.

Can confirm; these were pretty much my experiences as well. I am ashamed to admit that on occasion I popped Viagra a few hours before sex was coming. It's scary, but with enough porn watching , porn fapping becomes the "real thing" and sex feels like a less arousing substitute.

The problem for some (most?) of us is that cocky, confident asshole is not a natural state and probably not sustainable for the long term no matter how much work is put into developing those kind of attributes. For myself, I wonder if it's even worth doing it since later comes a jarring of frame when a more neutral self-concept takes over.

Ultimately moot because we all should be working to maximize both qualities to the extent possible.
/r/TheRedPill18/05/17 02:54 PM

Excellent points. Making your face more defined through weight loss makes it much much more attractive. Trust me. In fact I'd say that might be the most beneficial part of weight loss in regards to pulling women.
/r/TheRedPill18/05/17 02:45 PM

In my experience, it's just the exact opposite. But I'm not talking about true butterfaces, just plain faces with awesome bodies. Their SMV is much higher than it used to be.
/r/TheRedPill18/05/17 12:07 PM
2

And it's a downward (outward?) spiral... our society has pretty much given up on the idea of women having a normal body weight by default. Overweight women don't even feel overweight because all of their peers are also, and healthy weight women are deemed "anorexic." Good thread by the way, OP. We need to acknowledge truths, whatever they are, in order to develop the best strategies to work within their framework.

It's been about 5 years, but having been around southern England and Wales a bit I can tell you it's much, much better with girls in their teens and 20's over there. Here in the states it's an absolute fucking horror show. If there's anything women want more than hypergamy, it's eating. A guy can maybe go from a 4/10 to a 6/10 (assuming he's not obese to begin with) by lifting and getting down to a low body fat percentage. Yet a woman can go from a 3/10 to an 8/10 by taking her BMI down from 28 …

As far as in the face, I tend to agree. In addition to the make up, about 90% of white women dye their hair and pay a lot of attention to it. To see what difference this makes, check out chicks in prison. They can't dye their hair or wear make up. Of course, the tattoos make things even worse.

Hair style can make a big difference too -- it can pretty dramatically change the appearance of your head/face as a whole. The local barber is either an idiot or likes giving me a haircut that makes my head look like an octagon. I'm pretty sure I'm going to finally man up an see an actual hair stylist next time.

No hamstering needed. First, I'm not old enough for that to be an issue. Second, if the implication is somehow that I'm not passing on my DNA, it's still not too late to have a kid. Third, a kid having a dad in his 60s is not a huge deal, especially if he takes care of himself - there are far worse ways to screw up a kid. Fourth, the SJW types who would be making a deal out of this are the same proponents of how awesome it is for women to have children late.

In a nutshell, women guage men on 4 different factors. Genetic fitness (good looks, physically fit, etc) Resources (power, money, education, ambition, being older) Good parenting abilities (emotional stability, interested in kids, etc) Good partner traits (loyal, reliable, loving) Sorry, but I call BS. What women judge men on first and foremost is Tingles. The above is important, and part of Tingles. But alpha Chad who gets the pussy wet is the deciding factor unless she's locking down her Beta …

Dude, I've known paraplegics who are pretty alpha and bang hot chicks. Don't count yourself out of the game; you're not. Your life situation sucks, but you aren't doomed or anything. I can see how that would work for a certain personality type of guy, but I mean in general, I don't think "overhauling one's wardrobe" is going to have a significant effect beyond getting rid of crap clothes.

Interesting article in light of the fact that so many dating/PUA gurus make a big deal out of dressing stylishly (I mean in terms of casual wear). I've always had my doubts. One needs to be clean and not look like a slob, of course, but I'm doubtful that being the most stylish guy in the room is going to increase his chances of getting laid. But with formal wear yeah, I think it can matter.

IMO religiosity and mysticism are an impediment to true wisdom and spirituality because it all falls to Occam's Razor. It's unnecessary and provides cover for bullshit to slip into the message. Wisdom doesn't need mysticism; it stands on its own. Read the great philosophers and good psychology.

Divorce question. If you have a lot of money pre-marriage (say, a million in the bank) but make only $75k a year, and you later divorce, can she gibs-me-dat any of that million assuming it is never spent? My 2 cents: There will always be someone more Alpha than you. Just improve yourself however you can, and shrug off the rest. It's best to just get yourself away from this dude unless you're forced to be around him. If Mike Tyson (circa 1989) wants to fight you, just get out of the ring. Finally, I bet you are better than him in some things. Perhaps you can find a way to bring them into the conversation/situation without making it seem deliberate.

To anyone who is interested in stoicism, I highly recommend "The Undefeated Mind" by Dr. Alex Lickerman (subtitled "On the Science of Creating an Indestructible Self") https://www.amazon.com/Undefeated-Mind-Science-Constructing-Indestructible-ebook/dp/B009NW9NYU/

Stoicism has always appealed to me. I've read some Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius. It's a difficult way of being, but it's something I strive for. There's no use in worrying about shit -- it's either acceptance or action.

Hmm. I'm surprised I've gotten any upvotes considering how idiosyncratic my beliefs are. I wouldn't even know what to call myself politically.

Thanks for the inspiration and advice. The Red Pill has definitely been eye-opening. I'm also reading Rollo Tomassi's book, which is excellent. I'm going to be putting my best effort moving forward into self-improvement.

OK, question for you all: I've never actually watched The Matrix... is it worth watching, or is knowing the red pill analogy all one needs?

Man. I just turned 39 and prior to this I was in a LTR for 8 years... and the dating world is entirely different for me this time around. The few dates I've been on have not turned out well. I've been looking for a woman who wants kids in her 30s, and I found 2 who seemed decent, one 36 and the other 33. I figured I should have an OK shot at things given the ticking of the bio-clock. Nope. Both ghosted me after one date. This is not something I'm used to. Granted, this is a small sample size, bu…
