I appreciate you writing that. I'm at that point where I need a break. I'm looking a lot more inward, reading and learning and practicing yoga and going to the gym, and just enjoying the good people in my life. I think if I tried to focus on finding a girl too hard, it'll only get worse. Two first dates in two weeks, with gorgeous women, and I literally couldn't give a fuck about the whole process. Eye opening. Never had that before. So here, I am, as you said: pausing, expanding. And while it s…

I'd love to see a "life after the game" post from someone who has gone on to a monogamous happy relationship. Sounds like /u/dattokyo is looking to find that kind of thing. I'm 28, and am certianly looking forward to meeting that girl. There's a diminishing return to hooking up. The first is amazing, the 25th is fun, the 50th is ... just the same old thing.

I did this too, about a year and a half ago. I don't look back and think she was the one, though. I have taken lots of time to learn and grow myself – grow my "identity capital" as one author (of "The Defining Decade" about your 20s) said. I have grown so much, and learned so much about myself that I think I'd be so much more immature if I stayed with her. That being said, def don't forget the things you loved about that girl / relationship. There will, hopefully one day, be a "life after the ga…

LPT- If you're in the USA a bottle of Freixenet (it's a black bottle with gold script) will run ya like $1-2 more than Korbel or other popular "bottom shelf" champagnes / sparkling wines. Freixenet tastes wayyy better (my pops is a wine salesmen), looks way more expensive, and has a name that's cool to know how to pronounce (“fresh-eh-net”)

I haven't read your blog, and tend to hate pickup blogs, but I liked that post. I'd also add a few things if you really wanna be pro: A charger compatible for both iOS and Android devices Contacts case / solution. I don't have contacts, but when a girl needed them I had em in my bathroom. Purchased for like $8 at Target. Told her a friend in town had left them. Mouthwash. More than one girl has gone to the restroom and came out even more kissable. Also good for mornings when ya wake up and run t…

I highlighted the shit out of it, and every time I'm questioning myself, I go back and read the highlights. Also have a "going out" version of the highlights that I consolidated down for things to remember quickly before going out <Edit> Here's the going out list that I like: MODELS - Going out advice I like: Check your intentions - want to meet, not bone Be bold Always smile Don’t break eye contact Speak slowly, be concise with your words Have an opinion Communicate with feelings, not just word…

It's worth the $12. He writes for a living, just spring for it homie

Can we add a note to this post? If you have the $12, just buy the book from the guy. He writes for a living and knowing how much of an impact the book will have on your life, it's probably one of the best investments of $12 you'll ever make. Just my 2¢. The book did wonders for me since reading three years back.

This book was equally as important for me three years ago. I'm in the midst of his latest book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck and it's really great. Less about women, more about life. But still awesome on framing life.

These websites.. So much nope to be had. Even more hilarious when op's replies have negative votes. I think too many guys in this sub get caught up in the cycle of reading these crap blogs vs going out and being an authentic, attractive human.

Feel you. Going through the same situation and can feel the angst of just wanting to jump on Tinder, smoke weed or watch Netflix. Instead, I'm gonna do some yoga and write an article I keep saying I'm going to do. Fuck yeah.

Good stuff. To add on to not giving a fuck, try to avoid asking questions in texting (and irl) To your dancing example, instead of asking a question, which leaves you waiting for an answer, consider saying "A, b, c and I are headed to a great show tonight. You should come if you're free - bring your dancing shoes" You don't have to worry about a reply and you lead much more. Literally anything can be a statement. ("I bet you're very artsy" vs "Are you into art?")

Usually contextual, but for example I struck up a convo with a girl in line at the coffee shop last week doing this. I knew she had looked my way and seen me over a few feet waiting for my drink. When she finished paying and slid over to wait, a opened my shoulder a bit, looked over and down a bit and said "I think Hunter boots are NYC women's 2nd favorite winter accessory" with a smile. Immediately she smiled, looked up and "I love mine! But what's number one?" I then told her it's 100% gotta b…

I always go with statements they can align with, then jump into other spaces. I was on a tear with that until I met my current lady

Agree with the first part about 'whatever you're comfortable with,' disagree with the second part. After things start getting hands-y for a bit (there isn't an order to follow, do what feels natural in the moment) I'll take my shirt off (also, it helps if you work out, so there's that...) Then, the next step is naturally for hers to come off.. After that, it's on. So far I'm 5 for 5 in the past month with this in NYC. Highly suggested, I think I came across it on this sub at one point.

Pricey, but amazing cocktails. 100% would suggest, as well. In Bk, but frequent the LES/EV area

Loathe = "feel intense dislike or disgust for". I think we're on the same page. Coffee dates suck

Anyone else loathe coffee dates? Maybe it's that I'm in NYC, or have had female coworkers complain about them, but coffee dates are bizarre to me (especially when there are no additional planned venues to make moves to) Baking class, then coffee? Okay, now we're talking. Going out for 200mg of stimulant to fuel a potentially awkward first meeting? I'll default to a lot of other things first. It's been said a few times on this thread, but to add to the discussion, first dates are always cocktails…

8 for sure. I am a thin guy, but dress well. By and large the reason I do well with women of all sorts is the fact that I am in a creative industry, am intelligent / hold a great convo, and genuinely enjoy meeting other new interesting folks

Agreed, don't over think it. You're both on there for the same reason - I've found being direct is the best way (ie: You seem like the kinda girl I'd like to get drinks with)

I live under the impression that if you think you can go for it, you could have about 2 minutes ago. There is no perfect time, it would appear

First, way to fuckin be. You sound like the kind of girl I hope to run into most nights. Second, I loved this whole post and would love to see this as a series. I'm confident that while some guys might give this post a hard time, the majority of guys appreciate hearing the other side of situation. Cheers from NYC

This ^ Literally was just having a Sunday morning beer on my porch and swung off the porch to compliment a cutie on her flowey-summer-dress. Said I loved the way she knotted it and show her legs. Instant opener, which transitioned to a hello neighbor and sharing a walk down the the farmers market (I needed eggs anyway) Will be chilling with her in about 2 hrs from now. Just saying, it's always done me well..

I'm wondering if you're a girl? As a Brooklynite myself, I find that a solid 65% of men here are entirely too introverted to approach and start a genuine convo. I'm not going to use the h-word, but syndical-rayban-and-plaid-shirt-wearing dudes around these parts care so much about their looks, that they rarely acknowledge a woman with a style they genuinely appreciate. Since I've moved to Bushwick a few months back, my success rate has been incredible compared to every other neighborhood / city …

I once heard a professor in grad school say "never compliment a woman on things they can't control (ie: Your eyes are gorgeous) but instead compliment things that they consciously have worked for." I've used this to compliment girls' style frequently, and kino it up when checking out their jewelry. Rings, watches and hand accessories are nice, but if they're comfortable with it, lean in, admire and hold the necklace. It's a very sexual situation at that point

Couldn't help replying; I think it's bizarre you have such a gameplan / tactic (ie: "goals") For every guy out there, I genuinely believe a little more time put into himself (grooming, fitness, interests, passions, areas of expertise, etc) is much better time spent than flaking on a girl (tactic?) especially if the date is going well. Be a person. Girls like people. Interesting ones. While one can trick women into bed, those relationships, if you will, don't have a strong foundation. And while I…

Also, there are text apps out there that you can set timing. So if you wanna reply quickly, just set a time for it to send out. No over thinking, just what you would say if you happened to see it that 15 mins later. Just a thought.

My 2¢: Check your intentions; women are masters of social situations, they're always talking. If they're worth an approach, approach to learn about her (not thinking about how you wanna bend her over your kitchen table), screen her (yes, we deserve to do this too). The phone number transition is so much easier when you've had a legit (see: not forced) convo. Also, I find it's helpful to throw a thread to talk about in my opener (ie, "Saw ya and had to come say hi - I'm actually looking for a gif…

undergrad in business (majored in marketing & management), then transitioned to grad school (I'll PM you more info if you'd like) that's for advertising. One a few programs like it in the US, but it's all about replicating an ad-agency model (ie: artists, techies, and business people all working together). The ad community is a small place, and connections make that a positive; it's the kinda world where your coworkers were previously Doctors, travel agents, fine artists, groupies, and so many m…

I am with VMikeL; that's too thought out. First rule of opening? Open(!) You'll always come up with a million reasons not to do it, or the best way, but if you've done the right precursors (ie: in shape, self confident, groomed to appropriate social standards, confident: shoulders back, head all the way up at 90º angle, social proofing, etc.) opening won't be such a laborious task. Approach with a mindset of meeting them, not for their beauty, but for who they are. They get the "you're gorgeous"…

I feel ya, it leads to neat conversations (especially the life skills one; lots of talk of 'passion' in context). Cheers brother, do what you love and I think the confidence comes with from it.

Incredible city. Really hoping to make it my home after grad school; great culture, weather and layout, but it's the people that get me. Everyone's approachable, nice, and interesting. Also, women!

Yeah it kinda felt like it, but thankfully we weren't all seated at a big table. I was leaning on the breakfast counter thing over the end stool, while she fixed the toast. I was thinking how funny a story it was going to be at that point, and when I reached in my pocket for my phone outside and found that J, damn, god was smiling on my white ass. And San Francisco. Actually, brand strategy (focus in creative technology) which can sound stale. "I work at an ad agency" is a better way to pitch it. I'm always blow away by the parallels of the business to so many human interactions we have. Especially women. And much love for the self brands man, I'm all about Entrepreneurship. Just helped launch two startups, actually! Olive oil, and life skills... who would have seen those coming? [edit: a word]

Woah, upon reread completely left out the middle part, but fair critique. More of a lesson on the brash boldness but I'll elaborate on future posts. Also, will be exploring that subreddit. So how I made friends (for the sake of being extensive): sports are easy for guys, especially if you are well versed in them. So that. But more importantly, I befriended the guy who sat next to me soon after sitting down. He did some tight handshake with the bartender, orders a drink and discusses his recent e…

Actually decided to post based on a professors suggestion to write in ways I normally wouldn't, in places I normally wouldn't. These, here, trying to deliver quality OC to Seddit! (Also, to a degree, remind lurkers that Seddit doesn't have to be contingent on being a dick 'amog,' and there are good ways of doing so) Rant end: read that book, Models (a title I got from seddit). It helped me reframe/reposition may of the pua values to much more fitting ones.) Cheers for the ad love, fun business –…

They'll break up in no time; she's already bought a ticket to leave him 3 times. Morally, I do feel slightly bad about it, but I'd do it all again if I could (save for some obvious changes). Also, update to how the day worked out here. Not worried about hearing back from Miss-Poolside, that's for sure.
