Ever read Ray Bradbury? That's how I plan on writing this. No tl;dr, just terse writing.

I'm 23, intern in SF, Cali. (ad agency). Notice a babe (legitimately a HB7). I decide pool it is. Get down there, shirt off (get fit, it'll do wonders for confidence); snag a chair near her. Crack a beer, put my headphones away, start reading a book. She's noticing, adjusting, takes out her Kindle.

Fuck it. I jump in. Swim right over, say "You know, a couple years back, a guy could swim right up and comment on the book a you were reading." She smiles, happy to be approached clearly. I continue "So, it is true?" ..?.... "Is 50 Shades of Grey all it's cracked up to be?"

Gold. We talk, she's a teacher. Has a fianncé, who I later discover she is very unhappy with. I get out, start packing my stuff up. Then walk it over to the chair next to her. She gladly accepts some more company, conversation. Have you read Models? You should. It's changed my approach of life, and women especially. I wanted to know more about her, share myself and see if she really was of quality to me. No bullshit. (She was). An hour of quality convo, laughs and compliments.

She starts to pack up. I declare I should head in too. Walk to the elevators. She presses 3, I ask for 4. In the ascent: Me: "What are you up to" her, smiling ear to ear: "not sure, weekend with him [reference to her dude] me: "I meant in the next couple hours" her: "I'm gonna shower..." Ding. Door opens on 3. "I'd love to join you, c'mon" And then, I failed.

Had I been more physical, this wouldn't have been a fail. She got bashful, backing up says "maybe". I tell her to come up and see me, room 427, soon. Also, didn't get her number, dagger.

So I'll maybe never hear from her. But I did leave a postit on the third by the elevator buttons. "50 Shades, Can't end like that. [phone number]". Stupid? Certainly. Bold? Well, maybe idiotic. But, I've got one more week left in the city. I'll be damned if I look back and say I hadn't given it a shot. Cheers.

[Edit/update] Went by to take down the note, at 10am the following day (per some moral values, also see following post, too). It was gone, my mind wonders that much more. Update: The day got much better. This one goes into a record book for me.
