I don't see why not. In all regards on the surface, they are perceived as men. Only if he plays the trans card will anybody see otherwise. Certainly, he does not have the same lifelong experience that shapes men, but that is a matter of personality and experience, and discrimination is not about those things. It is about how people treat one based on surface appearance and internal prejudices.

They do exist. In my region there is Catholic Charities, which has services to help people get back on their feet, and one is a men's program. This targets a clientele that is at Rock bottom, Though. I find it of little use for those looking to avoid reaching rock bottom in the first place. At an arts festival yesterday, I saw two organizations offering services for homeless, Nesrly homeless, hungry, etc., for a nearby region. Call 211 and ask. They might be able to give you an option or two for…

Makes sense. Incidentally, I wasn't suggesting joining the protest so much as considering other options if enough people just quit reddit.

Neo-liberalism is already taken by politics. The term is misleading because the ideas are reactionary conservative economics.

We provide because nobody else will. We protect who and what we value. We sacrifice for what we believe is worth it. It is not our roles we should give up. It is our carelessness in which we apply them. I decided I am done with women, so I don't have to make the first move, but if I weren't, how could I get one if they won't approach me and I won't approach them?

This is rich. Men aren't even citizens, or even individuals anymore. Mere tools, I guess. Every Canadian deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. Today, we are delighted to announce the construction of almost 500 homes in Hamilton to support the needs of individuals and families in Hamilton. These new homes are more than bricks and mortar, they're the foundation for creating strong, vibrant communities where families in Hamilton can thrive Emphasis is mine.

To get a feel for business trends that may affect career decisions and information related to investment decisions (which may just look like him “goofing off reading the paper” but is the equivalent of a woman reading recipes in Better Homes & Gardens or Family Circle [still the best selling magazines to women]). I have a very sharp memory of the moment my father took over the cooking in the household. I was around 5. He regularly bought Woman's Day, back in the 1970's, mind you, for the dinner …

Back then it was not a reflection of the state of affairs. That kind of attitude was still considered undesirable. Honestly, Madonna was just playing on the Marilyn Monroe look and her movie, "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend". Edit: the movie was "Gentleman Prefer Blondes", which had that song.

Why do you think men have some kind of solidarity? I, as a man have exactly the same concern about suspicious people, male or female. We don't all walk around carefree and fearless. The statistics show that women are safer then men, so if you're concerned, how do you think we feel? Have you seen some of the violent women out there? Worse, many of them are stealthy. We don't see it coming. People being poisoned, penises sliced off, run over by cars, or accused of rape with resulting 10 to 20 year…

I have a young son. He sometimes complains and tantrums about things I make him do, or stop doing. When that happens, he's less likely to get what he wants, and if he persists, he loses privileges. Reward is based on being helpful or behaving well, not "because I want it". It's tough. He's very stubborn, but we're making progress. It occurred to me that if girls aren't given the same persistent discipline in childhood that the behavior might remain in adulthood. It certainly feels that way based…

This triggered a memory. A long time ago when I was in college, I did temporary work. One of the jobs I took was to be a receptionist for a few days at an office. One time I answered the phone and the man on the other side said "you're not a woman!" I responded. No, I am not. How may I help you? I won't lie, it wasn't easy. I had to be able to remember who was calling for whom, who was still on hold, etc. That's tough work for somebody with ADHD, which I didn't know i had at the time. This was a…

The fact she tried with the "evidence" she had is telling. She really believed she would win based on "feelings". If she did this based on knowing about other successful cases, It shows that a slightly less ludicrous allegation probably has a good chance of winning.

This bizarre belief is justified by the rationale that children who have experienced abuse by a man quite naturally may be fearful in the presence of another man. This sentence surfaced a memory of my experience as a foster father. DCF dropped on our doorstep two dazed and confused children, a 1yo boy, and his 2.5 yo sister. The first four days with us, she would not let me come within 4 feet of her. She was terrified of me. I didn't press her, I just kept my distance and was as caring as I coul…

I think his point might be more that the presentation of the problem does not offer anything that would alleviate the problem. Those hand wringers are whining about how men are not trusted by parents (mothers), and acting like it's an unsolvable problem. When this kind of scenario develops for women, there's a whole host of laws, regulations, punishments and "education campaigns" to solve the problem. Here, there is nothing. There is no effort to point out that women are statistically more likel…

I agree. I am appalled at how many seriously misandrist attitudes and even laws are being reported over there. Do you remember that feminist cafe that went out of business in which men payed double for their food or drink? It wasn't put out of business, it just failed organically.

Having both witnessed and experienced the white hot feminine hate generated from minor, even accidental, insults or disrespect, this feels obvious to me. Disclaimer: many women are very well balanced. My comments are the result of seeing many who aren't. I've seen it from women of all different cultures and race. While men generally seem to want to just get out of the situation if they're feeling disrespected, women want to destroy you for your transgression. Regardless of the cost.

Exactly my point. I am troubled by the constant pairing of these two different labels as if they are related. It implies that progressives are anti-male and anti-white while conservatives are anti-non-white, and oppressive to women. The tendency of these different groups to clump together is not causal.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates22/04/23 03:39 PM

This is an interesting discussion. All - Please remember being progressive or liberal is different from being feminist or anti-white racist even though most feminists call themselves progressive or liberal. We are dealing with a similar problem as conservatives who are not racist. While many racists consider themselves conservatives, conservatism is not racist.

If I read that correctly, there is literally huge sums of money to gain by maximizing the paternity child support rulings as much as possible, while at the same time, there is zeo incentive to maximize maternity support rulings. Literally bribery to legally screw over men, specifically. Jesus, that's got to be a human rights violation right there, in black and white.

It's hard not to follow what our testosterone driven instincts when under 25, but I generally disagree with her statement. We, as a gender, are known for our greater focus on logic and reason vs "feels". Maybe I missed something, or maybe I'm seeing a shortened version of this interview but I didn't see a whole lot of crazy stuff. I'm not keyed into this, but I thought I heard this was a trans woman, which mddies the gender a bit. Some could claim this was actually a man, or that the violent nature of the person did not caangecwhen the gender changed, etc.

Well, I don't care enough about this to go through all that, though I did listen to a 1 minute clip. For me to do it justice, I'd have to listen to the whole thing to understand the context before making a judgement. It's way too easy to take a clip out of context.

This is a good point. I just read some of it. Now, I don't know if any of it is true, but circumstantially, it appears to be so. On the other hand, if it is true, wouldn't law enforcement get involved? There is enough public information to warrant an investigation, where experts can examine the evidence to verify or dismiss it. After all, they don't need to wait for a person to report it to them if they see it themselves. Personally, if innocent, I might want an investigation, if only to clear m…

This is the problem. That said, let's acknowledge that this is a gender neutral personality trait. We men also would like to have the best of both worlds in general. It's a combination of learned empathy and held values of fairness that check our selfish tendencies. The excesses of feminism is an example of this problem.

If the embryo is his property, he can do whatever he wants, unless a court nullifies the contract or otherwise intervenes. Since he's male, that could happen.
/r/MensRights19/03/23 01:11 PM

Yes, if he signed a contract that gave the embryo to her, he cannot do anything except pay child support, as the biological father.

Of course not. He's not a woman. That's a prerequisite before such lunacy is considered reasonable by a court.

The contract also stipulates what happens to the embryo in case of divorce. Ours was to destroy it, but my ex forced us to wait for a state supreme court ruling before the judge would decide if she could get the embryo. Read the above carefully. We had a signed, witnessed contract, and the court was seriously considering nullifying it based on her "religious beliefs". Worse, there were three, and if she bore them, I would be responsible for child support. Unionically enforced. I'll wager that gu…

You can tell they realize the stupidity of their stance, but just can't admit it. This is why they distract and reword. There is a long history in education of making people experience an example of something for a couple of minutes and then getting their feelings about it. For example, in high school a long time ago I had a teacher who stood next to a phone that rang for a good 3 minutes while he talked. It drove some of us nuts. "Pick up the damn phone!" I think the only thing we can do as individuals is build a social life. The problem is that it seems almost impossible as a man. I know it isn't. No. Women and men should respect each other by default, until that respect is shown to be misplaced. Women should not serve men. Men should not serve women. Couples should choose their responsibilities to each other based on maximum benefit to each other and their children, and those responsibilities can change as circumstances change. If a couple cannot come to a happy balance of roles, they are not compatible and should move on. That doesn't mean they can't remain friends, just that they shoul…

Particularly disingenuous is this little gem: It’s far harder to leave a terrible relationship when kids are involved, and men know this. They want women to be trapped with them. The opposite is true. Once a man has a child, he's at her mercy. The second one is about a man who got out of jail after two years. The fourth is about a mother who posted revenge porn of her son's ex girlfriend, and he was found guilty. Choose your bullshit more carefully.

Holy shit! This right here is what we're up against. The response to the government for not making menopause a protected status says it all. Middle aged men have the highest suicide rate, highest depression rate, are considered privileged, don't get any help for medical conditions, and are the most socially isolated. But it is a horror that middle aged women can't get legally mandated special status for menopause. Goddamn, the chutzpah!

Gender neutral laws, eh? Then explain to me why my income is 15% more important than my ex wife's income? That's codified in law here. It means even if she makes equal income to me, I might still have to pay child support. It's also codified that mother is more important and nurturing than father, so by default, mom gets custody. If I lose my job, I'm still required to pay child support in full. How is that gender neutral?

First and foremost: paragraphs are a thing, really! Make it easier to read your posts! The problem isn't "because they are women". It's because they never learned what personal responsibility means. If they never had to accept responsibility for their actions while growing up, they won't understand what that means. Everything wrong is because of someone else. There's no realization that they might have done something to cause the bad outcome. This extends to the wider world. It never occurs to t…

Wow. I took the time to read the synopsis of the STEM GPA study. Did you? It dies not support a conclusion that "women have higher GPA than men". First, the time period is before girls were being encouraged to study STEM and fewer girks were interested: 1984 TO 2000. In that time period, few women chose this path, and the ones that did had to really enjoy it and/or excel at it to "enter the men's club". No. Feminism is only a manifestation of the efforts of the powerful to divide the people who could defeat them and set them against each other.
/r/MensRights21/01/23 07:47 PM

I disagree. It is a not a gendered trait. It is a learned trait. It just happens that feminists, like the Republican party, Uses victimhood to achieve their goals which includes power, wealth, and privilege. One can achieve goals through responsibility, smart work, and helping others. Alternatively, one can do it through victimhood, discrediting others, and coersion. Yeah, looks like projection, actually. Most of these behaviors appear to be very emotional, which I keep hearing we men can't express. I guess it's possible, but most men I know would not invest so much effort to mess with a woman like that. They'd just have nothing to do with them. The first one totally threw me... "Choose their target"? They think men hunt down women to ... Mistreat them? For the pure joy? I see that a lot in women on social media, but not men.

Why not? My first one stole $100,000. Second one wanted me to be her personal servant to settle out of court, then accused me of child abuse. The social worker saw my son was much more bonded to me than her, though. There are plenty of men here who have plenty of direct experience. We may be a small % of the population, but maybe we're just the ones willing to admit our humiliation at the hands of women.

I'm guessing the USA, and yes the laws are designed to destroy men. Even if she earns as much as he does, male income is weighted at 15% more "important" than women's, so it's that much harder to get out of child support if she makes close to what he does. I know that figure because my lawyer told me when I was determining if it made sense to ask for an income reevaluation due to her new house, car, and oversees trips. I decided it was too risky. If we have empathy (understand other people's views and motivations),maybe we can reduce the rage, hate, and erroneous motive we put on each other. Yeah - did that really "feel" serious to you? It felt almost like he was making fun of it. That's what I got out of it. Personally, I've noticed a lot of women who've been in my life spend more time cleaning - maybe I'm a slob. A few, compulsively. I had one who thought I didn't clean after I spent an hour cleaning. This is a perfect example of the kind of empathy I was trying to point out. The only difference is this is an empathy that a woman should have for a man on the same topic. She felt it was obvious. It was important to her, therefore she felt it should be natural and important to you. However, she didn't understand or even consider that this is something that is less important to you, and does not trigger annoyance. Hell, you probably weren't even aware. If everything one hears, sees, and experiences is proclaiming their superiority over others, it's kind of difficult to avoid becoming a bigot, IMHO. It's also easy to reject responsibility for one's own mistakes. For me, High School had lots of male teachers, and many had doctorates. Yes, that was the crux of my point - another weapon. This would become a credible one if accepted by the mainstream systems. As I said, there is evidence of differences in development. If we were able to manage that for 100 years, we can continue to manage it, but adjust approaches logically. Note also that male teachers of primary students are ever rarer. While there is objective evidence about the different rates of development, I do not agree with his assessment that boys should start later. Yeah, and men have a hard time getting into it. I suspect some of that is due to a stigma against male nurses, coupled with a ladies club mentality on the part of some of the female nurses and educators. Like child care work, men are actively discouraged from doing it, frequently by women. In child care, mothers and other caregivers start from the assumption a man is doing it because he's a pedophile, And he must prove he is not. No stress there, nope! Nope, I watched the whole thing, and I didn't see that. She was talking about the idea that women who are "pretty" have more privilege, and she lost that due to age. Coupled with having no legs, life is harder. Any man who lost his legs would have similar problems, but also never had pretty privilege. Interesting that they fight to dismantle the very tools they used to reach social hegemony, isn't it? Could it be because they know it works? Could it be because any acceptance of the idea men have "needs" is dangerous to their dominance?

I'm not exactly living my advice at the moment, but here it goes: Don't shut yourself off from society. You won't find kindred spirits and loyal friends that way. You should finish college, for it is usually a critical key to success. While I find it hard to believe the disregard you describe, I won't suggest you made it up. My university time was decades ago, and perhaps it's just gone crazy since then. Still, there must be another Uni that won't be so messed up. This is one area we should meet…

Clearly, you haven't come to understand the fundamental rules in divorce law. I won't address that, again. After two divorces, in which one embezzled over 100k, and the other accused me of child abuse during divorce mediation, while expecting me to become a manservant in order to see my son (she failed in that endeavour), I am unwilling to lose at Russian roulette again. Clearly, I am unable to identify the "right" women. I accept my failure at divining women's intentions. At this point, I'd rat…

Well, I hope you didn't just figure this out and are raising the point for visibility. Feminism, as it presents today, is anti-male. Have you ever been told about how the Y chromosome is shrinking over the last 50,000 years, with glee in their voices? I have. Have you ever been called a man-child when you ask a woman to do her part (as in contributing to the upkeep of the household, pay a few of the bills, etc) in a relationship? I have. Well, leftist and outcast are debatable, but I see how it looks that way. Here in the northeast, the problem is less in your face than it appears to be in certain major cities like NYC, LA, or San Francisco. Since my divorce, I've been an outcast in that I haven't rebuilt my social circles, so my general experience in public is 2 to 3 years out of date. It could be worse now. Personally, fragility attached to gender seems to be a flawed concept. I think fragile masculinity is a bullshit misandrist attack, and the same is true for femininity, but misogynist. We tend to create constructs that obscure the real problems, or extend individual problems to a broad category. A person can have a fragile sense of self worth. A (whole or large potion of a ) gender cannot. We must focus on the actual problems to solve them. Right now, the concept of fragile masculinity is a prob…

Well, first I had to get through having it thrown out entirely just because. Once I got past that, then they started trying to show that I moved money from marital funds into my premarital funds. That failed. So, you're half right. The first thing they do is try to show that she was coerced into signing the prenup. Which is why it's important that when you do this, both parties have lawyers on hand. If the judge decides she was coerced, the prenup is immediately thrown out. No questions asked or…

Let's face it. Feminism by definition harmed men simply because it required us to equalize societal perception of the value of the sexes. That in itself is not bad as men should not benefit at the expense of women, and women have dreams, too. In reality, if you don't want to be hit, don't hit. Some women want to change that equation. They want to abuse you and have no consequences. In short, women who believe that have no grasp of personal responsibility. However, our society is now set up such that they are absolutely right, because ever…

Dude, if statistics (their credit rating, for example) show person A is less likely to repay a loan than person B, would you flip a coin to decide which one gets your money, or will you lend to person B?

Support, honesty, and don't expect him to "provide". It is a joint effort. Modern society does not enable a single earner family, and the stress on a man seeking to save for retirement is emmense when he's paying all the bills and has nothing at the end of the month. It will break him, if he knows what is ahead financially.

Let's not seek reasons to be insulted. Juneteenth is a legitimate holiday and black folks have been celebrating it possibly since it happened after the civil war. Note that it happened (in Texas) because the white leadership did not tell anyone that slavery was illegal for 2 years, and thus kept the status quo until the feds sent the military to spread the word. Sure, it's unfortunate that "our day" is scheduled near that independence day, but let's face it - we are lesser people if we resent it…

I saw this some time ago, and it is excellent. However, if there is a desire to reach people who aren't already on board with MR, another video with a neutral sound is necessary. As we all know, Men don't have the luxury of appearing angry. Better yet, have a woman voice the answers. The facts to back them up are all right there, so nobody can dismiss it "because incel".

Interesting read. Other than the unthinking assumption that the patriarchy is a thing, it is a reasonable article casting doubt upon the idea that women drink because of patriarchy. When advocating for one's rights, some of the points will always sound anti-something, especially when specifically dealing with a force that is directly suppressing those rights. Take living wage rights - is advocating for that anti-capitalist or anti-corporate? By definition of the struggle, many will perceive those to be true. The same is for men's verses women's rights. If one includes the type of job the people choose, that makes a huge difference. For example , male nurses don't make more than females. That simple data point changes the result drastically. Professional studies alone are not truth. The study has to include viable variables and be peer reviewed. Followup studies are used to verify or invalidate the results.

However, toxic femininity cannot exist as an equivalence to toxic masculinity since there is no dominant culture of women mistreating men. It is a fact that male domestic violence victims face huge stigmas and are often not believed. However, that isn't because of toxic feminity. Instead, it is toxic masculinity and patriarchal views of men that make it hard for us to view men as victims and women as perpetrators. So when a woman hurts a man, it is because of the pervasive culture of male violen…

Dude, back in the day I won both sides of a debate in debate class on "should women be in combat roles in the military?" I won both sides because for each side I highlighted the strengths and weaknesses that supported my argument. There are things women understand or do better than men, and vice versa. We are two genders of the same species. We complement each other naturally. Only when hatred intervenes do we fail.
/r/MensRights25/04/22 05:33 PM

This is a highly one sided view. There are leaches of both genders, and in the past women have not been permitted to participate in "creating societies" . Some who did so anyway were overshadowed. So, while I fully agree with your view for many modern women, let's not fall into the same pit of mindless gender hatred the feminists are in. This is about ideological brainwashing and agendas of a political movement, not fundamental biological differences.
