Question whether you’re staying in the marriage because: 1- it’s your marriage. And marriage is supposed to be forever. 2- because of your past, what you’ve had, your history, old promises. 3- because you love who she is now. Your present and your future, based on your dynamic now, makes you want to stay. Once I realized all my reasons for wanting to make it work were PAST memories, and that I didn’t love the person she’d become… I knew my answer.

No, you’re not wrong to walk back agreements. Especially if she’s trying to pull what she is, YOU HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR YOURSELF. Seems like she certainly is.

Same here, but for not as long. I couldn’t sleep, woke up constantly, and my first thought was about her, our marriage. Honestly NyQuil, but I couldn’t do that night after night. Mine probably wasn’t as bad as yours, but… I’m also up typing this at 545am when I have no reason to be awake before 7. So… not great?

Yup! I thought “we’re married, this is what marriage is. We’ll be together forever regardless how unhappy we might be, this is our life together.” Wild.

I am, I appreciate it. That was two months ago, and after some couples counseling, we just had a BIG discussion tonight. Essentially, trying doesn’t feel like it could lead to happiness, so… it’s done?

Honestly, check meetup. I found one on there for a support group for me. Going through divorce in my city.

Totally get it. My STBXW started off by telling me she didn’t want to have a baby (we were about to start IVF). Then she said “I know you’d make a great dad, and I’d be a great mom, and we’d be amazing parents together, but it’s just not what I want.” Naturally, that was when I started bawling. Yeah, the compliment - but they’re just not “feeling it”… is a really kick in the dick.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
