Conservatism and progressive ideologies are both not friendly to men. But democrats do not care about traditional gender expectations applied to me. For men, voting for republicans are indeed better

In my opinion, MRA is a broad spectrum of ideology with regard to gender. Right wing MRA aims to advocate for institutions and policies that restore the traditional role and benefit of men. They support rigid gender role while criticizing the concurrent society for failing to pay proper honor, recognition, and benefits that men deserve. On the left side, people advocate for men by eliminating gender roles, eliminating traditional stereotypes and bias against men, and building an equal and unifor…

In my personal experience, women does it way more often than men. Projection at its finest

Actually sexism is prevalent. When you are present in a mixed gender environment, you will be treated differently compared to a woman and they don’t bother to hide that. When you are a boyfriend or husband, you will often times be treated like a potential aggressor the girl needs to be protected from. Sexism is real and it needs activism instead of ignorance

3 layers of sexism plays a role here: 1. The institutions fail to treat men fairly and understand that men needs to be protected from false accusations. Investigate first and impose action later 2. The society fail to cultivate a culture to treat men and women equally. Reputation should not be damaged by accusations without proof 3. feminist and white knights are equally bad. One of them favors female for same group bias. The other one favors female to gain female attention and an excuse to atta…

In my first relationship, I am hurt because I am taught love means devotion and really did so. When being belittled or cheated, I choose to keep forcing myself to put more effort and time. In the end, it is exhaustion. The problem is not biology but discriminatory social norms

I do not hate women, but I hate narcissists and entitled people. So it’s not about gender

Found a misandrist here. Don’t be shy. Spit it out that you hate men

If they want to say that extremism exists in men’s rights movement, I would say misandrist exist in feminist movement in the beginning. However, most male supporter of feminism in the past does not primarily focus on whether there were extremists but focus on whether feminism makes sense at that time. Same thing should happen here. Is there extremist in the movement? Yes. Did the movement expose and aim to address real structural problems that discriminates a gender? Yes. Let’s even put aside th…

Don’t use body shaming as an argument. It is not good. I will not use fat or old to call a female politician or officers I don’t like either

Nope, everyone has the responsibility. Many women fails do so and there are people like you still trying to ignore it

First of all, realistically, women wants to maintain the social norms of men paying everything for dating. They even push for men should pick them up or calla uber for them. Women do not regard this as discrimination. Secondly, in this social norms, men are impacted primarily. We are asked to pay with hard earned money due to a sexist norm while impact to women is mostly positive or mentally negative (I doubt it). The real issue of this narrative is that it does put men and women’s time, money, …

If applying the standard of “reasonable expectation of consent”, male rape does exist at a non trivial rate

Perception, especially without statistical backup, cannot remotely meet the standard of imposing sexist expectations. Even from a intimacy relationship perspective, I would say blindly believe in perception originated from negative emotions is dangerous and corrosive

For the reason that a women is never safe and is entitled to men’s protection… That is the most misandrist and factually untrue statement. Men are the predominant victims of violent crimes period

That’s a fair argument and I agree with you. I think it is primary to fight for caring, understanding and respect of men and their individuality. If we cannot stay on the table to define the new era, the beneficial part of traditional masculinity will disappear due to the same reason. No matter what, we have to put up a fight

Bring back men’s dignity and freedom of choosing his lifestyle without being ridiculed or discriminated by others, including women. Don’t bring back a gendered stereotype and culture norm that led us to the current situation

Misandry kills

Feminism actually kills because feminism systematically ignores women to men abuse and violence. While most adult men are able to defend themselves physically and only suffer mentally, young kids suffer physically, mentally, and socially

It happened in China because our social norms encourage parents to exploit boys. For example, boys are expected to do physically intense work once they are strong enough. Parents can justifiably use severe physical violence to discipline boys. Also society supports boys drop out of school to support his sister’s education. Boys are also morally obligated to take care of the parents while girls are not when they grow up. Combing all the factors together, parents simply like to have a boy while th…

I must point out that this conclusion fundamentally flawed. Misandry is real and it is pervasive in academia, all levels of government and large corporations. It is not the agent of China, Russia, Israel or Middle East countries that create all the misandry. They are only a tiny contributor to the current discrimination of men

If that’s the case, you are doing great by being able to calling it out. Your ex is likely to be emotionally manipulative and dismissive to your feelings. If possible, are you able to find some supportive resources like therapy? I am once hurt really badly by my ex and I don’t want same situation happens to anyone else

Yes you are raped by the definition of non consensual sexual activity. I am really sorry for your experience. I cannot tell if you are a men or women that writes the story gender-reversed but the chance of it being a criminal case is very thin. Still your sense of being violated is real and your ex deserves hate

I was born in a conservative society and believe strongly in gender equality. I believe both gender should have same rights and being treated with fairness and dignity. Also we should not discriminate people and degrade people based on their gender. I embrace the feminist movements until feminism movement actually gain institutional power. Then, a realization coming in - feminist movement is never about the ideal they claim to support. In reality, they demonstrated cruelty, discrimination, and s…

modern progressive ideology is actually very regressive and reflects a reality 50-80 years ago. Currently, the people who are discriminated against most are actually white man

The official theory, and actually the prevailing concern behind this kind of policy is that traditional culture gives preferential treatment to women to facilitate them focus on taking care of the children and grandchildren. Things are different now. Women don’t want to take their traditional gender role and men are often forced to both bring most income and share half the chores and child care. Yet, women form a strong coalition that any attempt to make retirement equal for men, which should be…

China is pretty gynocentric. We give systematic preferential treatment to women in criminal justice system. Women is less likely to be arrested for the same offenses and less likely to get same punishment as men. I cannot imagine western world is even worse

You are confusing two things together that I clearly distinguish before: 1. Should intimidate partner pay attention to each other’s feeling? Clearly yes 2. When one party said “I feel painful”, is not interpreting it as withdrawing of consent rape or not
/r/MensRights04/10/25 05:14 PM

I think the core question is that her boyfriend does not treat the phrase “I feel painful” as a withdraw of consent but the girl clearly means to withdraw consent. Is this case, is this rape, or should a just law punish this behavior?

I only agree with you in philosophical level but not in any realistic level. For example, if someone withdraws consent in mind but does not vocalize it, it should not be raped. I think there must be a clear/reasonable expression of the withdrawal of consent for legal prosecutions to start. I also think intimate partner should pay close attention to the other party’s feelings. But that’s another story

Men needs role models that respect men, does not ridicule men, treat men and women equally. Not a masculine role model.

I agree with you partially. Women are becoming the de-facto elite gender with preferential treatment in social norms, institutions policies and formal legislation. Although there are powerful men who still benefit from the traditional hierarchy system by oppressing the ordinary men and giving women a stronger desire of hypergamy. The percentage of such population are shrinking. We don’t need to blame either gender but only need to firmly defends the equality of all genders and gender identities …

It is clearly misandrist. Please try to raise it to your parents. This is gpt response: I think your reaction makes sense. What your teacher said was a stereotype and it is dismissive toward boys. Saying “boys do better with kids because they act more childish” isn’t just a harmless joke—it lumps all boys together as immature and treats that immaturity as their defining trait. That’s both unfair and condescending. It takes a positive skill (being good with kids) and ties it to a negative assumpt…

I genuinely believe people, regardless of their gender or gender identity, should be treated with respect, care, and fairness. I support feminism like 15 years ago in a developing country but no longer support feminism now. Even when my underlying value remain the same

It’s definitely a cultural thing but I think people should not touch shoulder in a fatherly way in a workplace. A gentle tap on the shoulder or arm is fine but anything additional is not a great way to behave in a cultural diverse workplace. Although it does not make sense to call it SA. As well

I am genuinely curious whether Indian people feel something is wrong here. If this 12 yr old boy physically raped this 17 yr old girl, which is unlikely to happen considering boys in 12 does not begin to gain muscle a lot, then it is somewhat reasonable to book this young boy. However, we are talking about statutory rape here. It is the girl who should be arrested due to clear differences in their intellectual maturity
