Yeah I went out with a guy once who seemed to think he had to be the sole provider even though I offered to split. He didn't listen and we went out once. I personally think first dates it should be split because you don't even know if you actually like the person yet (most of the time). Women should pay for dates too.

I've gotten this too in debates. This is treated like a shut down but can be used as a way to point out how men oppress other men just as women have done the same to each other in the past. Don't beat yourself up over being stumped though. We all have this happen. Treat it as a chance to learn a little bit more and grow. There could always be small ways to get the message across. I don't know much about your school but I remember at mine you could tape pieces of paper to the walls. I saw posters for YouTubers and such. I would say keep trying though. I knew someone who called out the teachers and schools for ignoring depression in men so there's some hope.
