Reminds me of women who put their babies in safe havens or doorsteps. Don’t get me wrong, this is obviously better than hurting them but this is nothing to support anyone over, or call them “strong women”, that’s foul as hell. You don’t see anyone calling men strong or supporting them when they leave the child with their mother?? These people literally leave babies in boxes WITHOUT a caretaker..

Even mom's who fail to pay child support, like my ex wife, cannot be called "deadbeats".

There's some messed up societal reaction to the word "deadbeat" when used about women. People get vent out of shape like "how dare you put a man's responsibility on a woman".

So yeah, women who abandon their babies are magically seen as being not in the same league a men who abandon their babies because of sexism.

Girls/women are often thought to be more keen on nurturing and gentle domesticity than boys/men. They also tend to be more outspoken about their longing for parenthood, especially from an earlier age. This obviously isn't the case in every single family, but it's a social expectation that has developed from years of observation and statistics; hence the reason we don't see a "Teen DAD" on MTV or "MIC (MEN, Infants and Children)" programs for grocery assistance.

Why? Because the TV show was made to sell ad space, which has ads selling products to women, who buy the things with the 78% of discretionary spending they control.

If men spent money on things advertised to us at the same rate, the male-friendly messaging on TV would skyrocket. But, since women control their money and half of ours, no one cares about male-friendly messaging in any media. See also: movies, magazines, news, and basically all entertainment or any medium supported by advertising.

This have happened to one of my former neighbor, she gave birth to the child and left the child in care of child's father and disappeared in thin air. 18yrs after, she reappear and found child and his father. All of a sudden she started to play the victim card, saying that child were kidnapped by the father. Unfortunately she tried to persuaded the child that he was kidnapped, however, Lots of people testified to the child that he wasn't kidnapped, his mother abandoned him as an infant. After the kidnapping story didn't work, she were telling the child that she could have aborted him since she couldn't take care of the him. In the end, the child forgave his mother cuz he was happy to see his mother who gave birth to him. Fortunately for the child, he continues to live with his father and was free to visit his mother whenever he feels like doing so.

Truthfully I've noticed this to. When mothers walk out on the family their given the benefit of the doubt and their mental health is taken into consideration, but when fathers do it their railed for being awful. Honestly pathetic

Probably because when men choose to leave, there’s another caretaker who is then left with a larger burden. However, when a mom decides to put the child up for adoption, another parent isn’t assuming the burden. Since the adoptive parents are choosing to accept the child, the burden that’s being passed to the caretakers, is willing, rather than unwilling.

If the mom had left the father and “escaped” being a parent, they would definitely be called a deadbeat

Because the guy literally just had to have an orgasm inisde the woman's body (the ultimate goal apparently) and that's it. Carrying a baby is so fucking bad for your health. Men don't have the possibly of dying during childbirth. Should I continue? Men do the bare minimum and get to be called 'dad' equally. When a parent is reunited with a child, it becomes a chance for redemption. Dead beat dads are no longer dead beats if they come back :)

I dont think either thing should be celebrated both men and women when reuniting with adult children should consider therapy to work through it together. In that moment it may be a feel good story but the damage question's and undoubtedly issues are not far under the surface. Very dangerous to randomly pop in and out and expect perfections of any kind. Sad for the kid more then anything else who had to spend years struggling with there mind. No one should have the cheers other then the strong child who forgave who ever left them.

Men would have to actively give a child away. But they passively leave a child instead of making a future for it.

Mom put child in adoption = child fed and housed.

Dad leaves and never contacts family = who knows if the child is even alive or dead. They made no plan for the child whatsoever.

Even leaving the child at a drop off point means a mother has to educate herself on the process and at least provide transportation for the child.

Man does nothing and and gets treated as a person who did nothing.

Honestly I’m stepmom and I have a deadbeat bmand she hasn’t seen or spoken to her daughter in four years and a son for 7 months but yet has another kid. Her whole goal is to get a sugar daddy to give her some lavish life and pay for everything. She recently put a tro on false allegations on me, my husband and her ex husband all because we spoke up about the truth of the matter. She’s been this way since day one blackmailing my husband got money rose his daughter o Lu to be told thrift mom can’t go then he doesn’t get a visit. I’ve dealt with deadbeats before but at this point no one believes our side even though we have substantial evidence. We are all appealing this tro and sadly she thinks she’s untouchable with th law. My husband had never received a fair cutthroat I gene use all she does is make up lies and some sob story and thy believe her. As of now I’m going to fight hard but I can’t stand this woman and neither can her kids! So at what point will the courts hold her accountable. I’ve been going through this for ten years!! I definitely agree that the courts are extremely bias and unfair to fathers who are actually trying to just be good parents
