I think monk mode makes sense when u need to maximise on one specific area. Example: “I need to get better at football so I will go monk mode and drop everything else to focus on this one task”. But what op wrote are lifestyle changes that he should already be doing, if that makes sense

U need to push yourself until it becomes a habit, find the smallest increment of the said task and do it. I.e: “I don’t wanna run but I will do it for only 5 mins” once u push through that initial resistance it becomes easier

Here is the solution I found for using substances: Only smoke enough to get the benefits from the drug without all of the setbacks. If I’m going out with a girl I will take 1 or 2 hits of a joint and reap all of the benefits from it. Ie: relaxed, more creative, funny etc.
