I'm in the same boat. My right hand can do better than most women, but that feeling of validation, importance, and companionship is what (most) men are really after. TRP preaches minimizing the impact of these (i.e. stoicism) in order to live a more fulfilling life, but everyone needs it sometimes.

This hard-on for legacy is, I think, a rebound from the mainstream materialism of society. People wake up, come here, and think "oh shit, legacy is what REALLY matters". Like most things, the answer is in the middle. Yes, you should leave something behind, but you only have one life and actually living it in a meaningful and decently enjoyable way is paramount. People that live for legacy (aka post-mortem validation) think they're breaking the cycle, when they're really still stuck in it.

I don't really approve of this part of TRP theory. True, society as we know it is crumbling, and much of this decay is rooted in the intrapersonal relationships between men and women. However, we can't just "enjoy the decline" and let it all slide away. Our ancestors built civilization and I'll be damned it I don't uphold it for my descendants.

I started fucking around with the other gender in the second half of my sophomore year, and am now a senior. I’ve dated and hooked up and broken up, and none of it is anything like it is in the movies. Maybe it’s because I’m misogynistic but as long as you have close friends and feel sexually satiated you aren’t missing out on anything. Teen dating is nothing but awkwardness and an ego boost.

Entering my junior year next year. Freshman year was wasted but sophomore was really solid in terms of net gain in my social life. I'm lucky because my fitness and academic life are super on-point, so I don't need to worry about much more than maintaining those. I can only go up from here, all I need to do is basically grow a pair

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APZCfmgzoS0 This video is where I got the idea from. According to the video, muscle growth occurs when human growth hormone (HGH) levels are high, which only occurs when insulin levels are low, thus in a fasting state. Additionally, when I said cut out carbs I was largely referring to simple carbs such as those found in bread and most processed foods; I just didn't have an index of what to replace them with in my diet.

Generally just less healthy than fats and proteins, especially processed carbs (sugars). I don't need to lose weight, just looking to eat healthier and hopefully make more gains

What high-fat foods do you suggest? My problem with these diet plans is basically "eat avocados and cheese" with very little meal diversity. Additionally, most high-fat foods are also high in saturated fat, which isn't very much better for you than carbs, especially in high quantities. Unsaturated fats specifically are good for you.

How do you expect to exempt from this? If Western society (or, more importantly, economy) destabilizes and begins to tumble, do you expect to not be dragged down with it? USA + EU = roughly half of the world's economy right now, so you won't be safe from the decline anywhere.

Do you have any countries in mind? I like Japan due to its economic prosperity and semi-traditional values, but it seems to be getting dragged down by the West as well.

Yeah, the main reason I posted this was to see different takes on how to move forward from a (large) speed bump. I guess my plan is going to be to focus on myself until I feel solid enough to be self-sufficient mentally and emotionally. Most importantly my grades need to be in order since that's my most valuable career asset. From there I'll move to improve external factors such as social and sexual life. Basically just back to the grind.

Solid advice. Luckily my fitness is very much in order, it's one of the pillars that keeps my shit together. I've done some introspection on my life's direction from a different perspective and I basically think that despite the setbacks and general bad luck I've been consistently improving myself and my surroundings. On the idea of "comparing yourself to only past you", I've heard this often and fail to see how it's effective in driving a person to achieve more and be better. Life (especially f…

You're correct in that overdoing it can lead to problems, but in OP's case it is likely worth flaunting a bit. The reason being, if your social game is weak you need to show value in other areas in your life, or people will perceive you as having nothing of value or use to them. OP displays a need to make high-value friends, and doing so will be impossible without a) displaying value of his own, and b) having adequate social skills. He clearly has 0 cred so he must make up for it in other ways i…

In the same situation myself. Was a complete recluse freshman year, now as a junior my rep is probably in top 20% of my class. You do need to accept, however, that you'll never reach the potential you had at the beginning of freshman year when people were first judging each other. Make targeted friends. You probably won't be able to jump in with the cool kids right away, so start slow. A sort of "Friends of Friends" approach will help you slowly build your rep. Flex relentlessly. Are you built? …

Where do you buy Lion's Mane from and how much do you take?
/r/TheRedPill13/04/18 01:55 PM

Very thorough and insightful post. A few thoughts: What's your experience with Lion's Mane? I've read about it but it seems to be very much pseudoscience with little backing its immense claims. Does this ever get tiring? I understand the satisfaction your schedule generates but the constant grind seems to get exhausting after long enough. At what age did you start to develop yourself into what you are today? Just curious as to what stage of life this applies to.

No it isn't. If you can't exhaust whatever muscles you're working in an hour, you are working out wrong. Either you're not using the right amount of weight, not using good form, or just dicking around at the gym too much.

Fitness: Going solid, need to keep track of what weights im doing so I can steadily upgrade instead of guessing. Social: Strong as well, continuing to make new connections and meet new people. Girl game is pretty strong too but needs work. Finance/Academic: Working two jobs (as a high schooler) now, should be making ~grand/week. Grades are high af. Mental: I fucked up. I was chilling with some friends and got bored, ended up OD'ing on nicotine. Gonna avoid that shit for a while.

While an interesting idea, the collapse of America is a long way away. Reasons why: The USA's military is laughably superior to every military in the world (including China and Russia combined). The only way the USA could be brought down by force currently is through heavy nuking. If this happens, the whole world is fucked and there is nowhere to hide. The USA's economy is definitely not growing as fast as it once has, but it is still nearly twice the size of China (#2 Economy), with a quarter o…

Not seeing much benefit either, I sort of relapsed and fapped quite a bit this weekend. Planning on going 2 weeks and seeing how I feel. I'm not addicted to PMO'ing so I think most of the 'superpowers' NoFap advertises are people who are addicted seeing normalcy. Still gonna give it a shot though

PROS This week I finally hit my body weight on the bench, feels great. Academics are good, but that second semester laziness is hitting hard. Down from fapping once/day to once/week for two weeks, plan to eventually build to a month but progress is progress. Finally started reading, currently on Law 5 of The 48 Laws of Power CONS Diet is getting a little bit better but sugar intake is still way too high, gotta cut that down. Hobby development is slow, still spending a lot of time on videogames. …

PROS Lifting is going great, slowly upping weight in all areas. Continuing success in academic career, grades are where they need to be. Had a 7-day nofap streak, was planning on doing the 7-day T Cycle but kinda felt like shit after so I'm gonna do all of feb and see how I feel. CONS Diet is definitely not where it needs to be, getting a lot of protein but general diet sucks. Not working on my hobbies/skills like I should be Still haven't started reading more or meditating IN THE COMING WEEK Go…

Never facing hardship. This may sound like humblebragging, but I utilize this. I go to a really academic school, and I'm #2 in my class currently. I have a reputation for being lazy and coasting through all the hardest classes, but in reality sometimes I have to bust my ass to get the grades I need. Succeed, dont show effort. If you must show effort, make sure you succeed.

"Nothing fucks you harder than time" Despite still being young, I'm already starting to get terrified of old age; seeing what it has done and is doing to my parents is seriously affecting me. I've been doing some light research into longevity recently and found that we basically just don't know much about effective lengthening of lifespans/healthspans. Nonetheless, one of my continuing methods of self-improvement is going to be diet and fitness, as well as anything I can find on anti-senescence.

It's been a pretty good week boys. Positives Went to the gym 4 times this week, still upping weights Briefly moved to #1 in my class with a 4.98 weighted gpa, went back down to 2 due to my rival getting a midterm retake. Should get it back after next semester. Decided to finally get real about NoFap, on day 4 now. Not addicted but figured I might as well give it a shot. Still developing new hobbies, right now I'm learning skim boarding and plan to learn how to surf. Downside is surfboards aren't…

First time doing this, so this week is probably going to be more of a lifestyle review for me, instead of what's changed. Pros 1. Have been for past few months, but working out extremely consistently. Significant results, and I'm pretty defined. 2. Continuing success in school, I'm #2 in my class with a 4.86 weighted gpa. This semester was a 5.35, but it won't be enough to bring me to #1 yet. Not much competition however, I think I can come out on top by senior year. 3. Gradually increasing conf…

Eh, I don't like this advice. In high school (at least in my cultural sphere), you gotta be at least decent friends so they're comfortable around you. Remember most high schoolers are new to dating so are generally more cautious with who they date.
