Have you ever tried bodyweight training? With advanced exercices? Not the push up or one arm push up but planche push up, the one arm chin etc. Working toward these goal will help and all you need is a pull up bar and a set of rings. (if you are really broke it is like 60 $ and if you cant afford it take the pull up bar and it's around 30$). You may need to do some deep step up with a little way to load the leg properly though

Don't know, i would say talking to the guy and girls who lead the group and being accepted by them. It can be simply talking as for the dance with the two girls in the OP. I did improved a lot in one month by watching only one or two episode per day (1h or 2h). So i think dedicating maybe like 1 hours watching a serie you enjoye is one way to go. You do you but i simply understood stoicism as : Care about the things you can change ie you can change from slave to citizen, you can help to make great social/encironemental change etc but you can revive dead people, grow another leg, etc. So i think it is practical and the difficult thing is more about defining what is in your power or not (you can mistakenly think you cannot controle something and ; here is the slave mentality; when you can and vis versa where you waste energy)
