Modern easy solution: Don't marry, just live together. I've seen a pretty interesting pattern for childfree dudes. If you don't really care and don't give it a second thought ever, you most likely won't care later on. However, if you have questions about the future and think you might change your mind later, issues tend to flare up later rather than sooner which makes it a bit troublesome to mend up. Just extend the phrase and it becomes their real thoughts, if you say: "you can't be sexist to men", it's just plainly untrue. they really mean to say: "you can't be sexist to men for our agenda to work", and then it makes sense. Their whole world view depends on playing with words in that noxious way.

I'm not even sure why we treat sexual abuse claims any different than other claims. We demand evidence, do due diligence, if they lie to the police then charges could (and should be pressed). Once evidence checks out then a normal procedure should go. Even from a feminist view point, the amount of dishonesty and criminal conduct the "believe all women" movement caused more people to not believe those claims and women to go awry with unfunded accusations.

Perfectly reasonable way to capitalize on diversity on your product. Not sure why you'd need to have a diverse team of people to develop it though. Most of the results you want can be obtained from your user base with A/B testing, the developer nationality or gender has little to no relevance in a field that has well data driven product results coming from the diversity of your user base.

While I kinda like the proposal because I'm the only Bolivian in the team and I have high performance due to my position and tasks I can already feel the downsides. I wouldn't like to hire more Bolivians because they'll lower my bonuses. Diversity "can" be a good thing. But is hiring women being really diverse (or even worse, diverse in a good way)? In my squad I work with people from US, Estonia, Morocco, Argentina and Germany (and I'm from Bolivia myself). Would hiring women from the US make my team more or less diverse? Plus diversity gives just a minor increase in different ideas which is not bad, but just a trivial improvement, what I want in my team is quality, work ethic and consistency.

They got the HR lead removed (not sure if fired or resigned) due to the legal issues you're mentioning. AFAIK she's handling at least 3 processes of gender discrimination and the company is also having legal issues due to that DEI mandates.

The CEO had a field day with their BS. And as much as I'd like them to be coherent, firing 80% of their department or hiring 18 new men in their position is absurd. I rather have them follow my own meritocratic views, if they have 18 women and 2 men and they're competent, then they shouldn't be bothered when there's a tech team with 10 men and 1 women. Competency and merit is more important than equality hiring.

Agree with most of it. Just wanted to clarify that they have a few interview rounds with technical exams they choose for hiring. In theory, all candidates perform equally, in practice, women underperform heavily due to them being selected from a smaller pool of candidates. The last round of hiring is an interview with the leads and all of them have at least enough knowledge to pass it decently, there's no way to know if someone is a high performer or not with just 30 minutes talking to him/her, …

Politically motivated HR teams have already burned up 2 (and if this one ends up torn up too then 3), companies I've worked with, I had no issue stepping out of those other ones due to huge differences I had with them, but I really want this one to prosper since I'm really invested in their purpose and I formed significant friendships with coworkers there

My squad (13 men), is 2,7X more efficient than the least performing one (14 men, 16 women). And that's with less than half the size. Do you know if there's a way to increase cooperation on mixed teams? I've seen the issues the paper says (but measuring cooperation and initiative is quite complex), and having less performant women to cooperate better would make a huge difference.
