It's happening everywhere mate. I'm in an organisation of over 3000 and I personally know of 5-6 teams where it's going on. All teams are led by recently promoted or recruited women. Once you see it for the first time - you're eyes are opened wide!

Cmon now. MGTOW is whatever it means to the individual guy going his own way. That's the beauty of it. If that involves social media then what do you care? Most of us got here with the intent to not be told how to live our lives by others - please don't let 'that's not how a MGTOW lives' creep into here.

Nice sentiment- I understand it. However who do you think has paid for (and continues to pay for) the development of the first world countries through their hard work and 'doing the right thing'? That's right - men. I'm all for humanitarian refugee programs that support those in genuine danger, but there is no way I'm going to support / pay for 'economic migrants' who screwed up their own countries and now want to live here.

Ridiculous comparison. Having a child is a choice. This discussion is about the draft, which is not a choice for men. Try again.

So the bridesmaid and her husband turn a weekend away for a wedding into a 2 week holiday without their children that they can't afford - and then blame the couple getting married for 'forcing' them to do it? Seriously these people are idiots and just want to blame someone else for their poor decisions.

You can replace 'parents supporting unemployed men playing video games' with 'husbands supporting women staying at home playing house' Apparently the first one is a problem (hence the article), but the second one is 'normal'.

I work in government. Over last 5 years 90% of executive appointments and promotions have been given to women. There have been 3 seperate women's mentoring or advancement programs. None for men. There are women's health benefits - none for men. They are currently discussing increasing the retirement funds payments for women employees to 'close the gender gap' The office is full of gossip and financial mismanagement and nothing ever gets done. If it was a private company it would have gone bust y…

Very true. Watch the TV news where women are interviewed about the local house fire, car crash, etc where they saw something happen to someone else. They will say how they felt about it, how it impacted them, instead of the actual event and what happened to someone else.

Seriously though - pay your child support. Just because you split with their mother doesn't remove your responsibilities as a father. In regards to alimony - she's an adult and can look after herself.

It's not the divorce that screws up the kids - it's how the parents relate to each other afterwards that determines the level of fucked-up-ness.

Yeah - great movie. I suppose I just picked up pieces here and there and they gradually made sense. There was no real one inspiration I suppose. Very different these days - the internet makes information so much more accessible and can make individuals realise they aren't the only one that feels something is wrong with being on the 'traditional' path. The ability to test concepts and thoughts anonymously on forums like this give us notoriously private guys an outlet and way to communicate with e…

I realised I was living my life 100% for everyone else - and was still being told it wasn't enough. I'd done what was expected of me (marriage, kids, big house, 2 cars, 50 hour work week etc) and all of a sudden woke up one morning wondering what happened to the last 40 years. I had all the responsibilities of a family man without any of the benefits (respect, love, working together to build a life, etc). I was a meal ticket, a beast of burden for others. Funny how a 'mid life crisis' is seen as…

Too true. The reason I asked is my kids have recently started playing Minecraft (they play together) and it's been great as they have had to work out things for themselves and work collaboratively to reach their goals. It difficult as a parent to stop yourself from jumping in to solve a problem - but I can literally see them developing life skills (negotiation, problem solving etc) in front of my eyes as I tell them to "work it out yourselves" Which I suppose is what the article is all about!
/r/MGTOW06/01/15 10:36 PM
2

Good article find OP. But may I ask, what's wrong with Minecraft within this context?
/r/MGTOW06/01/15 12:03 PM
4

No it's not. It's because men spend more time in paid employment longer than women. It's as simple as that. Think about it - how many retirements have you witnessed at your work place? Out of all those people that worked well into their 60's, I'll bet there were hardly any women....

Mate, the fact you're asking these questions of yourself, and started looking for answers at 26 is great. Many people never get to this stage and just plod along day-in-day-out never questioning things or themselves. Don't be in such a rush to sort it all out now. Enjoy the process of learning about yourself, the world and your place in it. And remember - if you can get past worrying about what other people think of you - then IMO that is a key part of going your own way. Enjoy the ride!
