Ok true, but I'm in the states. And what I'm really saying is that you can really show that your an alpha if you are very comfortable talking about something that most people are afraid to mention. Also, I only use this as a conversation piece 1 out of every 20 times or so. I think you're overanalyzing a solid way to approach a "foreign" looking girl.

My background is half Irish half Scottish. Whenever I see a slightly exotic looking girl I will ask her about her ethnicity and then tell her my background. About 1 month after I started reading /r/seduction I got rejected for a kiss. This had never happened to me before, the few girls I tried had always been receptive in the past. This rejection turned out to be THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME, because I realized that getting rejected doesn't really hurt.
